This weeks schedule
General | Posted 9 years agoI was planning on streaming tonight but I am too tired. The bright side of that is my day work is done and I can coast through the rest of the week.
Streaming this week, I am planning on Wednesday through Friday. Tonight is a no go and tomorrow night I will be out with friends I have not seen in a while. We are going to play the new Resident Evil.
I will have more update later and see you all Wednesday night.

Oh, and I weighed myself since I started the workout program and I have lost 5 lbs. Small but good start.

Start of the year
General | Posted 9 years agoHad a sour end of the year but we must move on, must do better.
My hand is well enough that I can draw without it getting in my way. Typing is more of an issue, not hitting the "g' key just right anymore.
So I am back onto my commission list. Started tonight with 3 rough sketches. I hope to keep pace through the rest of the week and get things rolling again.
I want to thank you for your patience everyone and looking forward we should be on a more steady schedule.

Personal update (hopefully last)
General | Posted 9 years agoWell, things just keep getting worst. I had a death in the family over the weekend, The funeral is coming up and I will be with family for a while.

Hand update 2
General | Posted 9 years agoOn top of my hand injury I have been seasonally sick for the last four days. Waiting for the fever to break and my index finger is still numb. I can type with it but I have to watch the keyboard. Drawing and writing I can do but I have to switch between my index and ring finger while doing so. It looks like a long term damage but I hope its not nerve damage.
Been getting back into drawing and finished up a sketch and a commission. I think I can move forward slowly. Not sure of monday streaming but we will see what happens when the fever breaks.

Hand update
General | Posted 9 years agoThank goodness for auto complete. Well, after a whole day of clinic hopping I got a Tetanus Shot and some antibiotics with a suggestion to use some tylenol.
Taking some motrin instead because it works better for me than tylenol.
**WARNING TALK ABOUT INJURIES AND BLOOD**
Here is what happened. Erica kitty has had some twitchy moments that I thought was food allergies but seems to be something else. I left my door open so she couldd sleep in the warmest room. She curled to met sometime in the night and had a twitch attack. When she did I moved instinctively and my hand got in the way. She bit down full force, and after some screams of pain I got up and headed straight to the bathroom. I keep a travel and full sized medical kit in there. Not going to lie, there was a lot of blood. (by the way, if you have a moderate to severe wound on your hands, keep them above your heart if you can. This will slow the bleeding a little without constricting blood flow for normal biology) After some washing, getting cat hair out of the wounds I cleaned it off with alcohol, applied some ointment and let it air dry.
I was upset with erica kitty but I was more scared about how numb my finger was. Mind you, this is my dominant hand and the through of loosing fine motor skill scared me. So, I sat down and looked up some general info on animal bites, took some pain relievers and nodded off for a couple of hours surprisingly. When I woke up the bleeding stopped and clotted enough for me to take a closer look. ITs ugly and I decided that I needed to go to the doctor.

Going through this so maybe if you are in similar situation(hopefully not) you can shave a couple hours off your "urgent" medical treatment.
First thing, I have an emergency care credit card. This is suppose to be used for office visits, ER visits, pharmacy and even pets. This card is useless at any major urgent care in southeast Texas.
So I have 100 dollars, and insurance to use. First Choice Emergency Room is considered an ER visit and my insurance covers almost nothing. I was told that the Urgent care up the street could help me.
Immediate Medical Care has a base fee of 250 dollars to see them. They recommended me to CVS Pharmacy Shop. At the CVS you can use insurance and its treated as an office visit. For my situation they could give me a Tetanus shot but because od my diabetes I could not get antibiotics. A Policy thing.
So they recommended me to a RediClinic in the HEB. HEB is a grocery store in Texas and a couple other states. In there is a RediClinic and they also take most insurance and treat it like an Office Visit. The wait was super long but I got some good service with a prescription for antibiotics doe a 50 dollar co pay.
Conclusion
If I have a non urgent medical issue over the weekend, with less than 250 dollars, and can wait till daylight business hours. I will go to the Rediclinic in HEB for slow but complete service. I would also recommend taking first aid courses which are usually offered by your local fire department or part of city services. Good to know how to set a broken leg or dress a wound properly.
You know what else, I hold no ill will to all the people I talked to. They are doing their jobs, its the policies in place that cause the frustration.
One last thing, if you are diabetic and have wounds on you fingers and toes, keep a close eye on them AND don;t use an Epsom Salt warm water bath to soak in. It may agitate your diabetes and make the situation worst. Read the label before using.
All for now, meds then some sleep. Kitty sleeps in the clean laundry in the living room tonight.

Fitness update.
General | Posted 9 years agoI got nothing else really going on that is at all interesting so I will go into some workout stuff.
I am into the 4th week of the workout routine and was looking forward to getting home and trying out the next session. It was not easy and that is a good thing. Noticed a few little things that are improving. Tailbone is doing better. Still need my pillows but there is now some butt muscle to protect the bruised bone. I was even surprised that I could sit on the floor at the end of the workout.
Now that I am looking forward to doing these workouts I am getting back to a measured diet. Nothing drastic, less eating out, more veggies and fruit and less meat. Only been doing that this week so it will be some time before it shows any improvement.
By the end of the year I should be as flexible as I was in martial arts. Still a big guy then but I was Sumo flexible
All for now. Back to some boring stuff, some commissions and then Subnautica.

Before I do, got a little updating to do. I think the workout is starting to make some effects. Noticed that my thighs were sore this morning. I am going to take it that I am doing the engagement correctly for my butt and legs. Tailbone is not as sore as it has been.
Game time, got to finish my Civ 5 game. Completed the space ship on that one and started a new game on the next level of difficulty. Its been a bit more of a challenge which is nice.
Played a little Tropico and realized that I need to have a city plan before starting.
That is all for now. Time for some tea.
