- even at 5 in the morning, washing dishes is very zen.
- be wary of any food that can easily be spoiled that is served or sold in a sketch shop.
- dark, actually made curtains can block out the light much better than just flimsy jettisoned bed sheets.
- Putting meat, while still packaged, on a cast iron skillet will help it defrost better.
- Fucking wash out dishes of big chunks, especially if you're prone to letting the dishes ferment for a couple days.
- Tea is perhaps the most fantastic hot beverage in the world. Bitter teas tend to be the most delicious.
- Just fucking do it.
- Lengths of a journey are exponentially shortened with every friend joining you in the adventure
- Socks and slippers?
- Chicken soup is appropriate whenever and where ever.
- Purge out old sketchbooks. Especially the ones from when you were first starting to draw.
- If there's canned vegetables that you know you and your room mate wont use, one should donate them to the foodbank.
- Snow will ALWAYS find a way in. It doesn't matter if you're padded to the brim like the marshmallow guy from ghostbusters. It WILL find a way in.
- fly paper works on gnats too
- Not giving a fuck about what other people think of what you do is very respectable, until you become a dick about it, or if there's a legitimate reason people are raising a fuss about you.
- Switch the language dictionary in word processing when writing papers for foreign paper classes
- Always wait until after the first day of class to actually buy books.
- Blue Jays are fucking assholes.

Summer vacation rocks. = v=;;

So, even though I'm out of high school, there are those certain things that make me go "I was a part of that!!" And make me smile. I was in marching band. That was a lot of fun. Those are the days I'll never forget.
"Band means together." I was always told.

"Corey Beattie is a senior at Avon Grove High School and has aspirations of attending culinary school. On October 2, 2010 Corey was the passenger in a horrible car accident on the corner of 896 and 841 in New London PA. She was hit directly on her side and the accident left her with a global brain trauma, a broken neck, femur and clavicle.

She was flown from the scene to Christiana Hospital. After 3 weeks in the ICU and multiple surgeries, Corey’s fractures were healing and she was transferred to Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital. Corey's greatest injury was her global brain trauma. Recovery for this type of injury is very slow. She has intense physical, cognitive, and speech therapy daily.

Although she is improving, she is not improving enough to stay in the rehab center and a release date is imminent. She has a long road ahead of her which will be very costly as well.

Her options are to move to a nursing home or to make her home accessible for her needs. Our goal is to raise enough money to make the changes necessary to her home so that she can be as close to family and friends as possible."

I had been in marching band with Corey's older brother and sister, so when I first heard about this, I was rather shocked and rather horrified that something like this could happen to people so young. The family's medical bills are definitely stacking up, and there are a bunch of donations bins around their area and a lot of fundraisers for her around the area. However, Since I'm down in Virginia, there's little I can do with that, but there are still options for what I can do.

I've decided to open up commissions in order to help raise money for Corey and her family.
With every commission I take on, 100% of the money will go to Care for Corey.

My ultimate goal is to raise atleast $250 for them.
