So I've been working on some chibi adopt designs while out and about and they are super cute, I hope that these new designs grab some attention. I will try to finish at least 1 complete adopt a day so I can add some continuously. I want to focus on the chibi adopts and some ponies. For over a year I have been wanting to do some and I made a ton of ideas that I never went through with. So that will be a thing. Hehehe looking through the names I made, I really like them and I think I can come up with some really sweet designs. They will probably be done on 3 different bases that I create. I made about 100 names x.x so I really don't want to do a different pose for each one xD that would be suicide!! But I also don't want them all to look the same, so I'll do 3 different bases :3 and I have drawn the MLP style before =D I drew my OC pony, Selfy Heart, and turned out pretty well ^^ So this is what you can expect the ponies to look like (but digital of course) http://www.furaffinity.net/full/9747925/ Oh I'm getting myself all excited right now. I finished all the bases I'm going to use. I have 3 different ones, one for each of the 3 types of ponies, earth, pegasus, and unicorn. I also have foals, same pose for all 3 types and babies, also same pose for all 3 types. I have a few royalty ideas, they will have different poses though when I get there. I decided how to do the freebies when I make them, design your own cutie mark and send me a pic or detailed description and I'll put it on the pony and he/she's yours ^^ I like that idea. I'll also open for custom ponies (using the same base though and no royal customs).

I think I may be taking the adopts from the wrong angle. I think instead of doing small batches I should just focus on one at a time and make a really well developed looking character instead and do auctions. So my question is should I have them with no clothes, with clothes or both? What's more appealing to you?

Also my sister want to try and do the auctions again where she crochets a plushie again, your thoughts? They just can't be too detailed is all, but I don't think people will mind since they will be getting a handmade plushie of their new character.

I just really love making adopts...I wish that more people would see them though. I just love making new characters more than getting commissioned to draw one that already exists...I mean I love some character designs and such, but it's an obligation to finish if it's a commission and I quickly lose interest, which is why I'd rather just do adopts and then do gift and free art for people, I love doing that much, much more and I think I'd have a lot more fun and grow as an artist faster, plus then I'd want to do it.

So how can I become a successful adopt artist?

I'm going camping from the 17th to the 23rd. I will be taking sketch commissions for $6, they will be traditional and will be completed within a couple hours. I'm trying to save enough money for my boyfriend to stay in this state or else I won't see him until December of 2014. I don't know how much I need yet, but I have 100 (thank you to everyone who bought adopts from me and commissions this month, you were all such a great help, and I finally got my award check for my art piece in the student gallery.)

If you can't buy a sketch, buying an adopt would really help out, they are only $2, you could give them as gifts to others, you don't have to keep them. Or you could pimp me out when I open, that would be amazing. And because I don't take charity very well I'll do a custom super chibi for anyone that pimps me (which I will do after all sketch coms are completed).

I am at this moment working on a steampunk brooch and a couple keychain gifts for my friend's birthday, also on the adoptables, didn't realize how hard color schemes are xD;

I want to start selling adopts next month, I am working on the suggested ones from the "contest". My question is: How much should I sell them for? I need to sell as close to 100 adopts by May to pay for my plane ticket to go visit my boyfriend in South Carolina during his break. So I would like to price them cheap enough to where people would buy, BUT I don't want to underpay myself too much, I know I will have to a little bit in order to sell the majority, but I don't want it to be not worth my time, it takes me a long time to do digital work, 5 hours minimum on a chibi digital piece, but the adopts will be easier somewhat, all I have to do is draw different hairstyles and color....

I'm popular enough to sell for $8 (FACT), so I was thinking $5 or $6. Please do not tell me to sell for more because I need these to sell and higher prices do not sell for non-popufurs. Do you like the pencil sketch look? Would you be as interested if I did digital chibis with a pencil brush versus clean line digital chibis?

The keychain raffle will end on Feb 7th at 11:59pm (pacific) instead. I don't think raffles last that long.. in the future they will only be 1 week.

Also I am closing the adopt chance journal and only picking 3 instead of 6. I will be noting the people who I chose their combo, if you don't get a note from me I didn't pick your combo. Don't worry, I will do this type of chance again~

You will be happy to know that I will be holding a monthly raffle for my watchers only to win your choice of a custom chibi keychain or a digital chibi~ I will use random[dot]org's list generator with the users of my watchers and then the random number to pick each months' winners ^^ Starting in March
