Yup.

"You're fat" is not a topic of conversation.

It is not interesting, and it also displays a lack of decent social skills.

Messaging someone and starting off with "You're fat" where it is not a joke between friends and an understood, humorous replacement for "Hello" may not only offend some people, but also make you look like a moron to the person you do it to, as you are declaring from the forefront "I have nothing interesting to talk about, so I am going to attempt to get you to start a conversation even though I'm messaging you without any reason to do so."

Why anyone would think this would be a good method of starting a conversation with someone they do not know I haven't the foggiest, but I figured I'd just put that out there.

(And now I brace for numerous people that will think it's humorous to message me with this message simply because I'm posting this journal.)

So my favorite record label Ghostly International just did the most awesome thing since they released their iPhone/Touch app Discovery (which streams their entire discography according to whatever mood, speed, and how "human" the music you want to hear is.)

This.

For $24 a month, you get all of their new music as they release it, the past 30 days of music from them (so you essentially get the previous month from the day you join as well,) deals in their online store, unreleased music, all sorts of awesome goodies.

(Did I mention that you get much of the music before it's released to the public, too? Yeah, that too.)

If you like their music, or even if you've never heard of them before, now is definitely the time to give them a listen. This is one of the best deals I've seen in a while on music.

Placing bets on whether or not it's going to be tomorrow.

For those who don't know, TF2 is being released for Mac tomorrow. This leads me to believe taht they're gonna release the Engi update on the same day, simply because, well... seems like the perfect time to me. What better way to overload the Steam servers? :D

Lately all I've been able to come up with as far as music goes (or even wanted to come up with) has just been weird ambient textures or breaking down/reconstructions of other preexisting tracks (also in said weird ambient texture format.)

This wouldn't be nearly so bad if I knew there was much of an audience for this (from everything I can tell, there's not much of one.)

This also explains why I haven't been posting any sort of thing like that (and my music account is nearly barren, even after my goal of doing a track a week; I haven't kept up with that pace but I've made a lot more than I have posted.)

I figure if there's anyone out there that wants to bother with any of this stuff, I set up a tumblr a little while back for random snippets and clips of... well, just about everything I don't want to post up around here. I'm also working on a webpage or the like that I could use for posting such things for anyone interested (a full archive of stuff, big and small.) I dunno how much interest there'd be in it, but I'll go ahead and speak up when I do get it all set up in case anyone is.
