Happy Screw Years; The revenge of the Russian WindBomb; etc.
General | Posted 14 years agoHappy belated, and better than nothing Screw years.
New changes, new beginnings
Some resolutions:
A new place. Although I primarily wanted to stay with Rockaway, it seems that family has a bit of a tussle and I had to stay for one more year to a-make sure everything's secure within the premises, and b- to save up enough in case of emergency, jump ship and find another place call home.
A new fighting stick. The previously bought stick has some minor issues, and can be dealt with. The NEW fighting stick to be bought will be announced come late February after tax return arrives.
A new gaming area. For all of you don't know about the new casual area Rock and I have found for the liking, it's Chipsy's: 99 MacDougal Street near West 4th ST in Manhattan, N.Y. Come in about a couple of weeks or February, we start the casuals for all your games...Except SSF4:AE, obviously.
Plus, I'll be writing more here per month to get the stuff off my head rather than drink it with Captain and Southern Comfort Egg Nog. Not that it was a bad idea, but just a monthly digest of what happens around.
-RUSSIAN WINDBOMB-
A new rush to beat 3S:OE heads with mid tier chars. Since Necro's my main (yes..the russian drunk..), and took me to top 100 this time around with about record close to 1500-112, it's only fair to try new chars. Enter the fray: Yang/Hugo/Q/Remy/Yun SA2 (makes him mid tier for the SECOND TIME AROUND SINCE SECOND IMPACT..). Until then, having to be rank #100 and 4th best Necro online, only behind Japan's players, makes me realize that work still isn't done.
What's interesting with a stun character is no matter how many times people try to play offense on someone, the moment that string
gets cut by something unexpectedly shocking, every idea goes down the window. Quote Mirco Crocop: "Everything falls in place until you get hit."
I can play both zone and rushed. My spacing has improved, but it's the juggle combos that make him deadly. A formula discovered online can virtually stun almost every character with just about 2 1/2 setups regardless who Necro faces. Only weakness is as much as characters hurt him, he can't be obvious so long as he's played smart- hard for him since a good player can parry almost everything he can do if played right. He also has bad char rivalries. In this case, Dudley/Akuma/Urien/Chun/Yun..Usually it's Chun that takes the cake b/c the match is pretty much Phantasy Star 2 broken and hard to win in all cases. One palm of Chun can easily destroy almost
everything Necro does...except if done wrong, he can d. fwd for an easy hit. Only one Chun has beaten me in the case of 3SOE, so
it's nothing out of the ordinary. However, avenging that loss was even satisfying.
I've eventually played Japanese Necro players online, and only one edged me by frames- not ticks, nor time over, frames- and wanted me to play him in a 100 game set. The reason why I refused was b/c of his connection: RED. Sure, I've played some in Orange and won the majority of them. Red, however, is NOT safe for anybody. Moral of the lesson: stay away from anything bloddy and makes
your eyes teary.
PSN tag: Anti-Shoto.

After FAU:4;memories;Life Goes On
General | Posted 15 years agoAnother astounding Furry Con,and possibly my favorite of all time to say the least.
Another runner up position by the SSF4 tourney, and didn't even practice for it (again). Made it in the
Grand Finals vs. Rockaway Carter, swept the first set, and had it close to the 2nd but ran out of gas.
I'm not used to long sets such as those anymore. I'm usually a best 2/3 person and even if it went
that way to begin with, I would have been more faster in my strategies. Ironically enough, I don't
even play SSF4 at all, but will try to hone my skills up even more just to get shit going again.
But, overall the company, furries, friends, room, and trip was well worth it. And yes, best memories were
Bionic Arm @ the MVC3 tourney ONCE AGAIN! Serves enough broken stats if people were playing Wesker,
Phoenix, Tronne, and Akuma all day, but that's a different story in its own right.
Several things have came to mind as well as seeing Sgt. Al Peterson from the NJSPCA for the second time in a row. We united in friendship after the first FA:U, and since the first time I saw him put up the panels about Animal Cruelty and Santeria: The comparisons and contrasts. So, I didn't have to put my input there since people already knew that I was present in support of the matter.
Simply put, both religion and cruelty are in the same balance but different perspectives: one is done by the
influence of culture from both Africa and Cuba dating all the way back to the old times, while the other is
used to make sure that there aren't any endangered species in the midst of all that's been going on.
Other than that, the road back home was just as smooth as everything else to begin with. I look forward
coming back again and hopefully win my 3rd SSF4 tournament while having attained my 5th runners up, 8th
top 3, and 2nd appearance back @ FA:U.
Hope to see everyone else next year. Stay Furry.

New Avatar
General | Posted 16 years agoOne avatar was found in terms of the cold, freezing, weather acting up around the city. Deciding it was the most suitable and feared, it was a man that caught my attention since Street Fighter 2 arrived in the scene- a man that can twist the winds and make people fear him in many ways.
Dubbed as the "Red Cyclone" due to his devastating technique by executing 360 Spinning Pile Drivers in the air against his opponents, he grew even more feared when in Street Fighter 4 they
made him an assault technician thanks to the combos people discovered from Alpha 3, and applying more stun damage to anyone who faces him. In exactly one and a half combos, almost any opponent can be dizzied to their deaths.
And, it's only the beginning until people will know just how dangerous stepping into the winds of a cyclone can really be. Come this December, people will see the anger bestowed in this gruesome monster as the winds hit the high double to early triple digits, the weather falls to a shuddering cold of freezing temperatures; the Red Cyclone shall appear destroying everything to ashes and dust...
Thus, he enters without fear- and exits with natural disasters.

First (and ever) posting- new beginnings, and an end of one-
General | Posted 17 years agoDecember 5, 2008
Philadelphia, PA (NorthEastern Championship 9)
Rockaway said it best when him and I took the New York bus to Philly: "It's the last stand to make everything count." And it was only fair that we went overnight to reserve one of the final spots in the hotel.
Two ironies came to be right before we set in the hotel...
-The fact that the night time of Philly's Chinatown acts and feels as if it was a Friday night, but without the insane razzle and dazzle of the people from Chinatown Fair- good in both senses: less noise and less drama.
-The fact that more police were around the area acted as if something were to go down hard, especially since they're parked exactly behind, adjacent, and in front of the nearby hotels and 24-hour convenient stores.
By the time our trip took us to the hotel, and $20 bucks less, there were problems, not to mention the absence of an actual manager who wouldn't help with suitable information to let us know that the reservations I set up last monthwere null and void since the discounts set for the hotel were only for LAST year's gamers tournament.
As of now, we didn't let that stop us. All we wanted to do was game. Not only were we the first people there, but we managed to check out the bigger room that's used for our two day event.
Our rivalries are as follows:
Street Fighter Super Turbo-LIVE ACTION SATURN VERSION!- Sawada vs. Zangief
Virtua Fighter 2- Lau vs. Jacky
Capcom Vs SNK- (Ratio 1 Deathmatch): Sakura/Ken/EX Terry/EX Ryo vs. EX King/Gief/Balrog/EX Honda
(Regular Match)-EX Sakura/EX Beni/EX Ryo vs. EX Beni/Ex King/Gief
Super Turbo: Fur Affinity '08 deadliest matchup- FeiLong vs. Honda
Street Fighter 4: Red Cyclone Year (Zangief) vs. Raul Julia (Bison)
KOF 98 UM: EX Blue Mary/Geeze/Shings vs. Benimaur/Brian Battler/Ralf Jonez
KOF XI: Adel/Guytendo/Eiji vs/ Beni/Sie/Ralf
Samurai Spirits Tenkaichi Kakuden: Cham Cham/Yumeji vs. Wan Fu/Kyoshiro/Albert
3rd Strike: Sean vs. Necro (Brazil vs. Russia: Fur Affinity World Cup Championsip 2008)
Apparently, that's just for one day. Only two more days more of this craziness and I can relax back to reality come next week when Giants play Eagles in Giants Stadium. If they win, the clinch 1st in the NFC East- and force the rest of their teams in the conference fight for a wild card berth.
Tomrrow, I'll update more infomation and hope to whoever's out there that Dark Geese arrives to help all of us split the hotel room. Stupid management screwd us all over again.
