Where do you draw the line on price vs quality? What are the pros and cons of each length and texture? Beastcub will have samples of various degrees of quality ranging from what to avoid to what is perfect and will have tips on what to look for when buying.

When and where outside of a furry event is a fursuit acceptable? How do you survive without a headless lounge? How do you appropriately deal with the general public? Beastcub has been fursuiting since before she even knew what furries were and has much experience with fursuiting outside of furry venues.

(since all of a sudden, after 8 years of being here, selling fabric via submission is not okay I guess I have to do a journal, or is that not okay too!?!?!?)

I really friggen want to make a deer-wolf and a white lion! I am looking for anyone who would like to be added to my commission list for either.

Realistic or semi-real style for both and can be just a head or a halfsuit or a fullsuit, the deer-wolf must have antlers and natural pelt coloration, faint markings/color on the white lion is okay, not picky on eye color on either.

20% nonrefundable deposit vs 30% since these are things I want to make, first come first served.

EDIT: I have a wolf deer now BUT I will not object to making a herd of them, you just all have to be unique (different colors, different antlers, etc)

My official con group photo has been decided by staff: Saturday 5:15 as part of the fursuit festival (this is immediately after the convention group photo in the same room at 5) at photo station 3. All this is happening down on the arcade level (the hotel level we were at last year) i am hoping this will be the biggest group photo ever, please be there!

ALSO my time slot is being used for the Jumble Dutch Angel Dragons! If you have more than one suit from me be sure you wear your Dutchie! The group shot is important to me (*quad does not have to be included)

Multi-Beastcub-suit-owners: Since this is a mere 15 minutes after the con group photo you do not need to bring the head of your second suit as I have requested in the past, if you have a friend who can wear your second suit however that would be amazing :)

Is being close too the giant group photo (the one of all the fursuits at the con) going to be an issue for anyone?
Is anyone out there going to be wearing a not-Beastcub suit for the con's group photo and thus needs time to change into their Beastcub suit for the Beastcub group photo? And if yes how much time do you think you need?

BLFC is having a "fursuit festival" thing instead of the parade and doing group shots at this time, I am not on the actual list yet but do PLEASE fill this out and on page 2 when it asks who your fursuit maker is choose "other" and type "Beastcub Creations" and then select "yes" to the 10 minute photo shoot with your maker question.

HOPEFULLY this will eventually lead to an official time picked by the photo staff for us to do a group photo during the festival :D

I need some work to keep me busy tonight as I don't have the focus to start a head, I also I had $800 in unexpected vet care and $600 in car repair this month and I REALLY need some extra cash.

I need some free cliche old timey black-n-white cartoon music, something youtube won't flag, any suggestions? that classic staticy piano "dadadadada da da da, dun, da, dadadadadada da da da dun dun, dun dun" modern toons use when referencing black-n-white classic tunes would be perfect.

The feed store's missing box of chicks arrived at 11am this morning... and I now have 6 baby buff silkies!!!!!

I asked if any of the chicks were DOA and the guy kinda just did not answer me, but looking at the 60ish chicks they got some looked a bit off with only 6 looking really poorly but not at death's door, so I assume the box arrived with most if not all alive. The 6 I took home are a wee bit off but that is to be expected after not having food or water for 24 hours and spending a cold night alone somewhere in a freaken box, they are eating and drinking though so should be fine.


SO I have good news there... I have kinda bad news though in that my 25 silkie chicks I hatched are sneezing, I have a vet appointment later today to nip whatever this is in the bud before they act sickly (atm they act fine) I am hoping the 10 chicks hatched by the incubator service guy did not friggen catch something from his birds >:/ the incubator was in a shed and when I dropped the eggs off his multitude of birds seemed fine but on pickup the cage of chickens right next to the shed were sick, and as paranoid as I am I did not consider them getting an airborne disease in the incubator until today! And so many diseases are either deadly or leaves them contagious for life! UGH.

so boooooo on that but I won't flip out till the vet tells me I have a real problem. I do have the 6 new babies separated in the far end of the house though juuuuuuuuuust in case.

SO of the millions of colors of silkies I seem to have I don't have buff silkies and only one store within a 2 hour drive of here plans to get them at all this year and only 15 a time and only today and the first day of BLFC in May which does not work for me at all.

I arrive an hour early to be first in line as I was told there is a demand for them, 11am draws near and I see the mail truck and get excited only to see it drive away... it is then I learn that the chicks are lost in the mail!

The guy says the last time this happened the box did not turn up till the next day and they were all dead :C

This is super distressing guys T_T

I lost 2 chicks this round, which as awful as it sounds is not bad since I hatched more than 20 and losses are to be expected when dealing with something as fragile as baby birds.

Both losses are new to me, I have been keeping chickens for 20 years and have lost hatches in the past but not like this.

I lost one to being stepped on and crushed in its egg before it could hatch again, this is the third case, and in the past I have never had this problem. I believe I have narrowed down the problem to egg shape, they have all been almost completely round eggs thus lacking nature's proper design for strength.

From what I can tell with the second chick, it appears to have died because as it rotated to "unzip" the shell it angled itself wrong, blocking its air hole, and suffocated before it could peck a new one... I have never seen this before and it has me saying "WTF nature! Why are you so friggen mean???" seriously how could this chick sabotage itself like that D:


Both losses have me a little sad, but in both cases I found the chick too late to help so I lack the guilty conscious that made me cry loosing that one crushed egg chick after being its nursemaid for so many hours believing it would be okay.

As sad as it is to loose chicks like this, which each new loss I know what to look for in the future to prevent more dreadful outcomes :)

And with this sad news out of the way, expect a picture of the pile of surviving chicks to be posted by the end of the day :D

I am posting this for a friend, he has a young bearded dragon he got as a baby at the start of October, it is only half grown at best. It came with a tank set up and 3 lights, a UV daylight, a white daytime heat light and a red nighttime heat light. It gets primarily a jarred dry food meant for beardies, it sometimes gets mealworms for treats, I am not sure how regularly he feeds it crickets.

For the last month it has been walking in circles more often than it walks straight, doing erratic flicky and side to side head movements, and sometimes it flips over then rights itself, its behavior overall seems neurotic. It eats and drinks, it walks with its belly off the ground, seems plenty alert, its skin and color is great, to me it seems otherwise perfectly healthy. I figure since it has been a month whatever is wrong is not lethal?

He says the only things he can think of that could account for this behavior is right before it started doing this it did jump off him and had a bad landing onto the hard floor, so could it be brain damaged? He also gave it dandelion greens that same day for the first and only time and suspects that as well even though he was told feeding it the greens was fine.
