Game Dev, requests, cash raffle ($1111!), and free art
Posted 12 years agoSo, all silent on the western front. I haven't been updating much for a while. Dealing with the kind of nasty codependent streak that I've been having for longer than i care to mention. I'm still producing something, though. Got a game i'm working on with an old friend we should be wrapping up by the end of the week, and it's a game about werewolves that remembers being a werewolf is the point of the game, not "You're some form of mystical person dealing with weird stuff that also happens to be a werewolf". Looking forward to having something to show for it.
Mainly, it's my inspiration that's been failing, not my writing ability. If there's anything you'd like me to try writing, toss me what you're looking for and i'll give it a shot. I make no promises, but I'll certainly give it a try.
ALso, there are some amazing people out there willing to give things away randomly. Hopefully they don't mind me putting this in one journal, but it feels a bit daft to update my journal twice in ten minutes, when i've also got information i want to communicate that i don't want buried. Posted 12 years agoI have some old commitments to clear out before i can truly be done with the projects i'm on, but i'm not sure i'm getting anywhere beating my head against the same old wall. As of now, and for the foreseeable future, i'm calling the LoD dead, alongside a few other projects i have been working on for a long time. I have a last few pieces i need to make before all my promises are satisfied, and then, clean slate. So, i am considering doing something massively stupid, that will likely not generate any response, but what the hell. You move or you drop.

A NEW CHALLENGE... ER... APPROACHES.

shuyo took me up on a ridiculous challenge. He is a photographer, who has had a creative block, and refused to pick up his camera. I think you'll find the boy has talent. I said to him, if he delivers me a photo, i will deliver him a story about it. So, thus far, i've gotten three pieces out in three days. I have a fourth that i will handle tomorrow. And more as they come in. Keep an eye out, and tell shuyo what a fantastic artist he is, and to keep me busy. So, sit back, and enjoy this, the new Photo Finish Challenge!

Yeah. I know. I don't write much anymore. This is because i keep getting... stuck.
I'm not miserable, is the problem. Nothing's going shittily compared to how it could be going, i can wake up reasonably optimistic. And misery is my usual writing fuel. So, i'm working on trying to get around it. Meanwhile, delays continue. I think i may start working on other projects and posting some old material not limited to the LoD here.
Meanwhile, there is a lovely artist i've been watching called Momoshi who is currently doing an art raffle. She is awesome, does cool art, and is trying to get commissions to get her back into college. I plan on annoying her into drawing me and the boy at some point soon, once there's a little spare toss-around money. Randomized Update
Posted 14 years agoFive minutes at work have granted me clearance to post this. I'm cracking up a bit worse than I expected, as i seem to find myself in total isolation, due to a conjunction of bizarre events. A decent bit of writing has been done, however. 6, 7, 15, 26, 74, a few others i can't remember the numbers for... and am working on getting another few done today. No time to transcribe. An automated call from dell informed me my computer shall be home tuesday.
A Brief Hiatus
Posted 14 years agoMy computer has ceased proper function. In one part, this is the loss of the apostrophe key. Not having a fully functional writing implement has driven me crazy enough that I am sending my computer in to be repaired, and, barring those few that have my number, i shall be beyond contact starting monday. God help me.
