Any electricians here?
Posted 4 years agoLong story short, I bought a used audio mixer and it didn't come with a power cable. Big shocker. Anyways, it came from a seller here in the US, but when I got it I was giving it the once over and noticed that the usual "This device complies with the whatever standards" that most electronics in the US has, it has that warning for Canada.
There is a sticker below the power plug that says 120 V ~ 60 HZ 32 W, Fuse: T 1.0 A H 250 V.
I did some cursory searching and found out that the US and Canada both run on 120 V, and some searching on other listings for this particular mixer shows the same power information and the same warning for Canada as opposed to the US. I guess my question is, would any power cord that fits that weird shape work for it? I only ask because when I had to buy an extension cord for my air conditioner, I had to buy a special one that could handle the higher power demands of the air conditioner. If this mixer WAS intended for the Canadian market (despite being sold in California) are there any risks to just plugging it in?

Rest In Peace Garrett
Posted 5 years agoA couple of hours ago, I got the news that the electronic music scene lost one of the most talented people to come up in the past few years.
On Monday, the world lost Garrett Falls Lockhart, known better as i_o.
Garrett was known for his unique blend of trance with techno music and was starting to rise to prominence especially now with quarantine. He is known for his collabs with Lights, Grimes and No Mana to name a few.
Even though I didn't know him personally, his music, personality, and existence have had a huge impact on my life. Words cannot express the pain that I feel, it feels as if I've lost a friend.
From how I knew i_o through his music, live sets and social media he was an extremely talented man and cared about music more than anything.
I miss you.

Really Pioneer? Are you trying to be the music version of...
Posted 5 years agoSo I had a fatal PC crash a couple of weeks ago. Long story short, I had to buy a new PC.
I was reinstalling programs, and one of the first ones I installed was Rekordbox, the DJ program that I use for online shows as well as shows I get paid for. I used version 5 point whatever, but noticed that it updated to version 6, so I was like cool, downloaded and installed it.
So I was looking for the enter license key (since I bought Rekordbox) and couldn't find it. So I was like what the eff, where did they move it to?
So searching on Pioneer's site revealed that they "renewed the rekordbox subscription structure and the ver. 5 plans won't work with ver. 6."
So if you bought a license for version 5, it doesn't work with version 6. I'm like what the fuck?
So I was like okay, I'll humour you, how much is the license upgrade?
There are no license keys.
It's subscription based.
Subscription based.
DJ software.
Let that sink in.
It gets worse. I really wish I was joking but it gets worse.
There is a free version. But guess what you can't do with it.
That's right. DJ. If you want to DJ with the free version, you can only use "unlocked" (approved) Pioneer controllers. And that list is pretty small. And it seems that even if you use one of their supported controllers, you don't ACTUALLY get a license. What if you use an NI controller?
Why does a DJ program need to be cloud OR subscription based?
This whole microtransaction and subscription thing is getting out of control.
It's enough to make me stop supporting Pioneer out of principal alone.

Update
Posted 6 years agoI'll make this quick, I hate boring people.
I took a break from everything, art, making videos, etc for a few months, my mental health had reached a point where I was about to go fucking insane from stress and needed to distance myself from everything for a bit.
With that being said, I'm in a much better state of mind, and I'm eager to get back into the swing of things. As far as videos go, I have one to render out that's kind of an older one, nothing too fancy, but maybe that'll give you something to hold you over until my next full one. My next full one is gonna be huge, I've been working off and on on it the last few weeks, month or so, I'm pulling all of my skills, from mesh making to animating to video editing and even some new things to make this one really worth it. And I mean really worth it. I don't wanna hype it since you know how hype goes, but it's gonna easily be the best video I've ever made, in terms of both editing, filming and even VFX.
So please standby for all that.

Update on Videos
Posted 7 years agoHello everyone~! Been a long time that I posted a journal, but I figured that I would update everyone on what I'm doing with videos.
Firstly, thank you to everyone who watches and likes and comments on my videos, and a bigger thank you to everyone who takes the time to send me messages and all that about my videos, either here or on NaughtyMachinima or in SL, I LOVE talking to you guys and you're awesome~!
Secondly, if you didn't notice in my recent video, Sex on the Beach, there was no "OwO Presents" thing in it, and that was intentional. Up until this point I had been treating my videos like a studio, some sort of professional atmosphere, and it was getting to the point where that was putting too much stress on me where I was trying to get on a schedule making videos, and that's the last thing I wanna do is rush any video. I will ALWAYS put quality over quantity with my videos, and I spend weeks editing them to make them of a quality that I love, and trying to do things like a studio might have eventually affected that. There isn't a whole team that works on these videos, I film and edit them all on my own. So I'm going to make videos just as me. No studio name or anything. I was HUGELY inspired by YiffThis! and Nitskas Bastet for my videos, and those are the styles that I like and developed my own own style inspired from theirs. Will this change anything for my videos? No not really. I have a couple that I'm actually working on, that I think you all will enjoy so thank you for waiting!
Thirdly, will I be hosting my videos somewhere else. Maybe, I uploaded some to other sites to sort of get a test market and see how they would do on other sites (PornHub, XVideos) and while NaughtyMachinima isn't the BEST site for uploading (the upload limit is only 2gb) it's probably what I'll keep uploading on until a better site comes along. Not a lot of people are on XVideos or PornHub for Second Life porn.

BED OPEN FOR BLFC 2015!
Posted 10 years agoSo my friend messaged me earlier today telling me that he would not be able to attend BLFC because of an error he made when purchasing his plane tickets for it. Normally this wouldn't be too bad of an issue, but that now jacks up the price of what Lucas and I have to pay for the room. So I am posting this to see if anyone needs a bed for BLFC and can help pay for the room to help keep costs down for all of us. Some information about it:
Two beds, both queens. So far there are three planned to stay in it, all males aged from 20-22. My boyfriend and I are going to share a bed, but if you don't want to share a bed with some random person (our friend who is crashing with us) then all three of us have no problem sleeping in the same bed.
Not a party room, none of us are fursuiting. Two of the citizens in the room are asthmatic, so if you vape, please keep your cloudchasing to a minimum in the room.
The room is for the 13th through the 18th, the day before and after the convention. Total cost is roughly $160, although I'm not certain if this is including the room and resort tax, the confirmation email is unclear.
Anyways, note me on here if you are interested or have any other questions!

An Open Letter to Murrsuit Haters
Posted 10 years agoI recently came across a blog on Tumblr that is dedicated to outing (if you will) murrsuiters for the intent of creating a list of fursuiters to avoid at conventions and in public. As I kept scrolling and reading through the blog, I began to get an uneasy feeling, which quickly turned to disappointment. More searching led to multiple blogs and the such that are intent on alienating their own.
I find this highly offensive and against everything being a furry stands for. The whole point of being a furry is we all share a common interest, and we all go to conventions to be around people who have these same interests, and to make new friends. Seeing people publicly humiliating others for what they do in their free time is one thing, but to have it evolve into a schism within a community that just wants to be accepted and left alone, this is appalling and borderline disgusting.
They specifically target the more famous murrsuiters, I won't say any names to protect their privacy. But they take screenshots of their adult videos and paste them over pictures of the suiters interacting with children, you know, letting them touch their muzzles and the such, and they say that it's the most disgusting thing that they can do.
Saying that a murrsuiter shouldn't interact with kids because they've had sex in their suit is like saying you shouldn't interact with kids if you've masturbated. Your hands have been somewhere naughty, just like their suits, so what's the difference?
I'm sorry, their logic just isn't making much sense. It's not right to alienate ANYONE in this way, let alone one of your own. Anyone else feel this way?

18650 Batteries Venting
Posted 10 years agoSo I took a nap when I got home from the early-ass meeting at work (on my only day off this week mind you) and had the weirdest dream.
I dreamed that I bought two 18650 batteries in the mail, and they shipped them physically bundled together, and when I opened the box, they started to vent, and I panicked and threw them on the floor and ran out into the kitchen to find a container to put some salt water in to throw them into so they could safely discharge.
I grabbed this expensive-looking glass serving bowl type-thing and went back to my room and picked one of them up and threw it in the bowl filled with salt water, but I couldn't find the other one, so I REALLY started panicking because I knew that any minute now they'd explode, so I followed a trail of melted carpet to a box and found it in there and I picked it up with my pair of wire snips and it was like, really squishy, like mochi, and put it in the bowl too.
Almost makes me nervous to vape now xD

BLFC 2015 Badges Update
Posted 10 years agoJust an update for the badges I'm making for BLFC 2015. Due to printing constraints, I am needing to completely re-design them, so the old design I posted will NOT be what you will receive. I am working hard to find a good balance between what I want and what printing and such will allow me to do.
That being said, I realized that I was asking way too much for them, so the price will be lowered to $30 USD each, and $25 USD if you want me to give it to you at the con.
Hopefully in the next day or so I should be finished with the layout and design, as well as have a couple sample ones printed out to show you all.
So for now, please do not use the form I posted about, as it will no longer be monitored. I will also be removing the old design submission from my page until I can get a good solid one.
Sorry for being a pain and thanks for your understanding!

Furry Pride Casting Call
Posted 11 years agoSo Rainfurrest is over, and man am I depressed. But, I had one hell of a time. Now to get mushy on you all for a bit.
I never really understood what furry pride meant until Rainfurrest. Before, I just gave it the logical definition of being proud to be a furry, where if someone would ask, "Are you a furry?" I would immediately respond with "You bet yer ass I am!" with no hesitation. But I wasn't really like that. I live in a pretty cut-and-dry town in Montana where you're either a logger or a redneck, so I never have anyone even asking me if I am a furry, and if anyone did, I'd have some reservations about immediately saying yes.
I didn't fully understand and accept what furry pride was until a purple husky named Hip-Hop performed a song about furry pride at the variety show. Now I know it's so much more than being confident enough to say "Yes, I am a furry." It's also not being afraid to be who you are, being that person, and not caring what other people think about you. After I got over the fact that no one cared that I was wearing a tail and having fangasms over fursuiters and talking out loud about my favourite artists and falling in love with new ones, I was in heaven. This is what furry pride is to me: being proud to say that I am a furry, and not being ashamed to act like one. Unfortunately, this realization didn't come until roughly 9 PM the night before the con ended so I didn't have enough time to truly act like myself, and that is probably what hurts the most. But Hip-Hops' song has inspired me. I'm going to BFLC 2015 and Rainfurrest 2015, and, I'll admit, I did a lot of stuff wrong at RF2014 (not enough spending money, room was too far away from the con) but I'm going to do better in the future.
That's where you all come in. Hip-Hops' song inspired me to write one of my own. I want to help others find their furry pride, whether they admit it out loud or in secret, if I can. I also want to show the fandom how much it means to me. I have plans for a massive furry pride song, and want the fandom to sing it. There is no age or gender or vocal range limit, you only need furry pride, and a microphone.
I just got back from RF, but I want to get the ball rolling on this while the idea is still fresh in my mind and I feel like I still have some momentum. Interested on telling the world about your furry pride? Shoot me a PM and let me know!
And thank you all for being so amazing and making RF a truly remarkable first con experience!

RainFurrest 2014 DJ Application
Posted 11 years agoSo I sent in my application for a DJ spot at RF 2014 this year ^^
And while preparing my (albeit old) mix, I came to the conclusion that I want to restart my new mix series fresh, more frequent, and under a new name.
The old name was Free Your Voice, and I only released them yearly, they were short and pretty amateurish, and I only made them once a year. But now that I've become much better at mixing, I want to hopefully put one out every month or so.
It features great vocal trance tracks, so a name along the lines of Free Your Voice is preferred. Any suggestions? Anyone who suggests will get a special thank you mention in the liner notes, and the winning suggestion will get an even bigger one!

Female Vocalist Needed (Payed Commission)
Posted 11 years agoHello there, and thank you for your interest in this casting call!
I am the front-fur (bad pun) for a fledgling furry new wave and synthpop band. We have been working very hard on our debut EP, but now, we need your help!
We are in need of a female vocalist to do vocals for a track on our EP. Please note that you will be payed for your participation, as well as credited, and this will be treated as an artistic commission.
REQUIREMENTS:
-MUST be female. We are only in need for a female vocalist at this time.
-Must be 18 years of age or older. We will be dealing with contracts here so you need to be an adult in order to sign and agree to them.
-Must have an open PayPal account that is able to receive funds. Please be aware that for legal and security reasons, we can NOT send cash, check, or money orders to you in the mail for your work.
-Have decent recording equipment. This doesn't necessarily mean a $5000 recording setup, we are good at removing background noise and de-essing, so the quality of your microphone will be determined by us in your audition tape.
-PREFERABLY live within the continental United States. This is to make up for differences in time zones easier for meetings. You can live elsewhere in the world, just be prepared for late hours on your end.
-Have or be willing to download the Required Software. This list includes:
Skype, Dropbox and/or SkyDrive, Audacity.
-Must be willing to digitally sign a contract outlining your responsibilities and rights, as well as ours.
If you fall into these requirements, send us an e-mail at benassi.bengt[at]gmail.com with "Audition Tape" as the subject. Include in the email your audition tape, which will consist of an audio recording of yourself telling us your name, age, about yourself, as well as an example of your singing. Please keep recordings in .WAV format and under five minutes long.
Any other questions can also be directed towards the above email address. We look forward to working with you! Send this journal to all of your friends!
