Uploads
Posted 10 years agoSo, I know I haven't uploaded anything in the past 7 months, and for that I apologize, but since I don't get a whole lot of traffic I don't suppose that matters much. Anyway, I have pics to upload but the problem I'm having with them is that they aren't colored. My scanner destroys anything I do with my colored pencils and, despite my best efforts, I have a really hard time with looking at the computer screen and drawing on a tablet. I thought about getting a tablet with a screen but the infrequency of my uploading anything is such that I can't justify the expense.
What I'm finally getting around to asking is, is there anyone out there that's even interested in my lineart for me to bother posting it?

Upcoming artwork
Posted 11 years agoOkay, so I have a few more pictures I'm working on currently, so I thought I would just spell them out here for my watchers because I'm a nice guy like that. ;)
These are in no particular order:
Godzilla (sorry guys, the American version, not the classic one)
Freichsdar image (character in the works for my Ina'n storyline)
Lornstrad image (character in the works for my Ina'n storyline)
Brooklyn (Gargoyles...duh)
Full ref sheets for Ina'n, Threncheld, Freichsdar, and Lornstrad
Concept pieces (haven't started these yet but they could happen)
Drum (Buddyfight)
An as yet unnamed female character from the Ina'n storyline
More characters as they develop from the Ina'n storyline
Assassin's Creed
There you have it! Hope this whets your appetites for what's coming! I'll do my darnedest to get them out in a timely manner :)

Back from the dead!
Posted 12 years agoAfter nearly a year off from the arting world, I'm back! I'll be hopefully churning out some wips for you so you can see what I've been working on and...stuff. But yeah, I've been faving and liking and such over the course of the year but now I'm hoping to start contributing instead of just watching. I've received a lot of criticism over the years about my stylistic similarities to Brett Booth (one reason for the long break) so there might be some stylistic differences I may try out on you guys. Thank you!
Surgery
Posted 13 years agoTurns out I have a hernia and the surgery is tomorrow. I'd be lying to you if I said that I wasn't a little nervous, but I know everything will go on without a hitch. AAaaaaaaaaannnnnnnndddddd, that's all I have to say about that. Wurd...
Sorry for the hiatus
Posted 13 years agoJust an update for y'all.
I've changed from the fish and wildlife major I was pursuing to vocal performance and let me tell ya it's amazing <3. I'm getting to work with an amazing coach that's willing to let me really do some amazing songs and what's better, she totally thinks I can make it successfully in the opera business.
I've got a girlfriend now, but she's not on this website so there's no one for you to hound.
I have to go in for surgery since I apparently herniated myself.
I'm working on a couple of really cool projects right now art-wise, including some adult-ish stuff. No raging hard-ons or juices, but nudity definitely. I've also opened a new account to house any adult-ish drawings I do, and you can find me over here as well

Otherwise that's about it.
See ya later!

New Project!
Posted 14 years agoOkay, so I know I keep talking about these, but this time I'm actually doodling on it as I'm typing. So, this time, to help me keep on track, I think I'm going to post wips at least once a week so that you guys can see what's coming and where I am in the design process. That way also you can prod me a bit and help me keep from falling off the beaten track. Currently I'm working on character/armor designs and such, but I'm having a bit of trouble with the more...reptilian characters. I won't give too much away for now, but the gears are turning, the designs flying and pencils smoking.
*P.S. I've dropped a couple of hints in this journal with my phrasing/word choice. See if you can catch 'em!*

LGBTQ stuff
Posted 14 years agoSo there's a lot of stuff going on in my life right now, and quite frankly one of them is my sexual orientation. I just don't know where I fit on the spectrum. I need some help right now, but I know not many people read my journals, but if anyone stumbles across this and can offer up some advice I'd be more than happy to hear it.
I'm trying to get in and see a councilor some time this weekend to see what they have to say, but I'm scared of how it will turn out.

Had an awesome weekend!
Posted 14 years agoThis weekend has been pretty epic. I just love this time of year when so much is going on. Friday night two friends and I went to Twin Peaks (which for those of you that don't know it's basically an upscale Hooters) and had some awesome food! Seriously, they had a huge chicken fried steak that was awesome! Then we went to Krispy Kreme and I finally had a warm glazed doughnut. Seriously, I've never had a warm Krispy Kreme doughnut before Friday night. We then went and played an awesome round of laser tag. I totally got rolled, but it was fun all the same.
Last night was pretty legit too. Same two friends and I went to this thing called the "Zombie Walk" that my city has been doing for the past three years or so. It was kind of a last minute decision so there wasn't a whole lot of thought into our costumes (seriously, my 'blood' was house paint). We met another one of our friends there and afterward we went to IHOP since the friend we met there's wife works there and we got the family discount. It's incredibly funny to go in there and order the endless pancakes looking like the undead, especially when the manager is looking at you like he really wants to kick you out but legally can't. We then wrapped up the night with a couple rounds of Mortal Kombat.
Tonight and tomorrow night my school is also holding a haunted house that I'm performing in so I also get to scare the crap out of total strangers whilst covered in fake blood. I really love this time of year. <3

Well dang...
Posted 14 years agoYesterday at work I was told by my boss to move this table from our garages outside to our main shop where it would be easier to use. It was one of those really heavy kind of desks like you'd find in the bigwig's office with all the drawers and such, and it had this glass top protector. Well, I was moving the glass top and when I set it down I don't know what happened, but it shattered into a million pieces and cut up my arms and left hand. Mostly just some scratches and such, but I had a couple of deep ones on my left arm and I got one in particular that took almost all of the skin off my left pointer finger knuckle. We didn't go get stitches for it, but I honestly think I should have. Right now my finger looks like a sausage wrapped up in all this gauze and band-aids and I can't move it much if at all, but the bleeding's stopped so I guess I can't complain too much. So to make myself feel better about it, I'm going to go on a history rant and spout random knowledge!!
-Back in the 1500s most houses had thatched roofs with straw piled high with no wood underneath. This was really the only warm place that animals could go, but when it rained due to the lack of wooded support underneath them the animals would often fall through the ceiling. Thus giving us the common phrase: "It's raining cats and dogs". To help counteract this people began making the bed posts much taller and stretch a blanket or other sheet across the top. This is how canopy beds came into existence.
-Tomatoes were considered poisonous for almost 400 years. This is because the wealthy had dishes made of pewter and foods such as tomatoes with high acid content would draw the lead out of the pewter giving them lead poisoning.
-Bread used to be divided by rank. The workers would get the bottom portion that was more than likely burnt, the family would get the middle, and important guests would get the top, or the "upper crust".
-By looking at any map it's not hard to notice that England is pretty small. This caused a problem when it came to burying the dead. Graves were often reused due to this lack of real estate and the bones of the person who was buried there previously would be exhumed and sent to a bone house. While serving their rather macabre eviction notices they noticed that about 1 out of every 25 or so were found to have scratch marks on the inside of the lids from people accidentally being buried alive. People began to tie strings around the fingers of the dead person which fed up to the surface and were tied to a bell and some poor schmuck would have to sit out in the graveyard all night to listen for the bell. This became known as the graveyard shift. If a bell was wrung they would be rescued and would be considered a "dead ringer" that was "saved by the bell".
-Similarly, cups used to be made out of lead, and when mixed with alcohol the newly inebriated person could be knocked out for several days and could be mistaken for dead. The "corpse" would be laid out on their family's table for a couple days to give them a chance to wake up just in case they'd had one too many. Hence the custom of holding a wake.

Got Hurt
Posted 14 years agoWell, the title says it all. I was in taekwondo today and we were doing some light sparring and I went up for a roundhouse, and the other guy ended up going too low with his roundhouse or something, I don't know what happened. Either way, my foot got thrown out from underneath me, and I ended up going airborne and near parallel to the ground before I came crashing down hard on my tailbone and elbows. For a bit there it felt like I had a concussion, but thankfully I didn't, so that's one less thing I have to worry about. Either way, I can't put almost any pressure whatsoever on my elbows now without them hurting really badly. Then because of my tailbone I can sit down, but I have to be really careful how I do it. However, it does make it really difficult to walk and I left my shilelagh at home (nearly 60 miles away...).
I hope to get some artwork done, but I've been under a lot of stress lately with almost no time to myself that I don't spend trying to either sleep, eat, or stay alive. I had a chemistry II final today for lab and it destroyed me because of my test anxiety or whatnot. Next week starts my finals week and I have to study for genetics, finish my research paper over juvenile myoclonic epilepsy, study for my statistics final, then once all that is done on May 6th, I go back to work 40 hours a week on May 9th. However, I'm also looking for a new job that is actually in the field I'm studying for and my parents keep trying to tell me what I should do with my life and quite frankly, this whole thing has become a disaster.
All that said, please be patient with me and I'll do my dead-level best to churn out some artwork. Better yet, I'll try to get chapter 9 finished. I know what I want to happen, but what with everything else that's been going on, it's become just one more thing to do and it gets pushed to the back.

Awesome Joke
Posted 14 years agoI came across this on the interwebs earlier and thought it was too funny not to share. Some of you may have heard this one already, but for those of you who haven't, please enjoy.
You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small
children. Suddenly, a strange man with a huge knife Comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges at you
You are carrying a Colt .45 automatic and you are an expert shot.
You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.
What do you do?
Democrat's Answer:
Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
Does the man look poor? Or oppressed?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
Could we run away?
What does my wife think?
What about the kids?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the
knife out of his hand?
What does the law say about this situation?
What do the European courts say about this situation?
Does the Colt have appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does
this send to society and to my children?
Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content
just to wound me?
If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?
Should I call 9-1-1?
Why is this street so deserted?
We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a
happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.
This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for
few a days and try to come to a consensus.

Head-Splitting Conundrum
Posted 14 years agoWell, the conversation started innocently enough. I was trying to convince my mom that for my 21st birthday I want this old flintlock pistol from this pawn shop down the street from my house. It's not fancy or anything, there's some damage and such to it, but it's a great starter piece you know? Anyway, we got to talking about history in general, but suddenly I noticed the rekindling of my passion for history, especially historic weapons and battles. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but the problem has arisen in the knowledge that I've gotten started thinking about all this far too late. I've already declared my major: Fish and Wildlife Management.
I love animals, but I also love history. I've noticed as this semester has gone on and on that I'm kind of losing my fire for the field. What I've noticed is that if you were to put me in a room with two televisions, one tuned in to animal planet and the other to the History channel (both with some sort of program I found very interesting), then told me that I could only watch one of them, I would probably watch History channel. If I do decide to change my major to history I'll have wasted my time this semester on pointless classes for a major I was no longer interested in.
Another problem I've got is what if I'm just thinking like this because the classes I'm taking right now are extremely challenging and I'm losing steam? I tell you what, I hate having multiple interests, and then being told to decide what to do with the rest of my life before I'm even 21! Another thing I would love is that if I were to go in to history, I may have more time to devote to singing and developing my voice for opera. I love opera, and as it turns out, my school offers an opera workshop that I could potentially take advantage of. Now, I may be shooting to high thinking about opera, but I love the style and to sing, but I have never had a vocal lesson in my life so I don't know if I'm even that good, but I've had a lot of compliments so I can't be as bad as some of the people on American Idol X3. Anyway, any advice would be vastly appreciated.

Dying book business
Posted 14 years agoIt's recently been brought to my attention that Borders books has declared bankruptcy and is closing something like 200 stores nationwide, including one in my hometown. Barnes and Noble has also announced that they're having financial issues as well and is considering closing a few stores in the coming years. The general consensus to this was all caused by the explosion of the eReader on to the scene. Not even Barnes and Noble's Nook is doing well, being outsold by kindles and iPads. Not gonna lie, I've got a Sony eReader, but I still have all my printed books and quite frankly prefer them to my eReader.
It's just not the same reading a screen. While yes, eReaders is to books what the iPod was to CDs and you can carry your entire library around with you, they take away from the reading experience (as far as I'm concerned). You can't get the 'new book smell' with an eReader, and despite what the commercials may say, glare will always be a problem any time you're in any sort of harsh light. A book doesn't get that annoying glare, and you also don't have to recharge your book.
When my older sister and I were really young (approx. 6 and 5 respectively) my dad read to us all the time and there was one time he sat us down back in the master bedroom and read to us for the first time his copies of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, which I am currently re-reading. My dad keeps his copies of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings in my room since I have the market cornered on bookshelf space in our house, and my hope is that someday I can read those books to my children, or even better my dad can read to them. In my deepest literary nightmares I picture a family not unlike mine with a dad reading to his kids from an eReader, and some of their fondest memories include not a book, but a piece of metal and plastic which as far as I'm concerned is intangible. Now maybe I'm romanticizing this issue too much, but I don't think so.
In my house we weren't allowed to have video games until nearly my 8th grade year when my parents broke down and got us a PS2 and while we certainly had a lot of fun with it, the only one of us that really plays video games anymore is my younger brother, but he's never been that big into reading in the first place so it's hardly unexpected. The rest of us all over time moved back to our books, myself and my younger sister especially. As most of you know if you look at my journal headings you'll notice that I'm never without a book.
I'll go ahead and wrap this up, otherwise I'll be here until next Tuesday. Please do the book industry, and yourselves a favor and go out and buy yourself that book you've been wanting (notice I didn't say 'download'?). Take the time to sit back and read for a while. Even if it's just for half-an-hour each day, you'll slowly find yourself reading for longer and longer and find yourself less and less willing to put it down. Books love whoever picks them up, so go get some lovin'.

1. Are you single or taken?
Single
2. Chocolate or flowers?
Chocolate
3. Will you do anything special for Valentines Day?
Cozy up with my copy of Fellowship of the Ring
4. Do you like anyone?
Yes, but haven't told her yet
5. Were you dating anyone last Valentines?
Never been in a romantic relationship, so no.
6. Who do you want to spend Valentines with?

No. Not really.
8. Have you ever had a secret admirer?
How would I know if they kept it a secret?
9. Would you ever write someone a love letter?
Probably not, but I can't say for certain since the situation hasn't ever called for it.
10. Do you believe in Cupid?
No. Plain and simply.
11. Do your parents give you presents on Valentines?
Why should they? It's not like it's my birthday or something (though it is my sister's :D)
12. Do you still send out Valentine cards?
Nope.
13. Do you like candy hearts?
They're okay, but I don't like the white ones very much.

Um, nothing? >.>
15. Is Valentines depressing?
No, but it isn't uplifting either. As far as I'm concerned it's just another day.
16. How is your love life?
Um... not born yet, so I guess you can't call it a love "life".
17. Have you ever been dumped on Valentines?
No relationships, so no.
18. How many roses would you want?
As far as I'm concerned, it's the guy's job to supply the roses, so none.
19. Will you have a girlfriend/boyfriend this Valentines day?
No. I don't believe so. I'm kind of superstitious about starting relationships on Valentine's Day about them being doomed to fail.
20. Do you look forward to Valentines day?
No more than I do next Thursday. Again, as far as I'm concerned it's just another day.
21. Who was your last Valentine from?
I don't know, we were required to give them to everyone so us ugly kids wouldn't get left out XD
22. Who do you expect to get a Valentine from this year?
No.
23. Who would you most like to receive a Valentine from?
A girl that wasn't a total whore with some good brains.
24. How many Valentines will you be sending this year?
None.
25. Have you ever not received a Valentine?
Every year that we weren't required to bring one for everybody :D
26. What was the most Valentines you received in a single year?
About 23 or so. However many people I had in my elementary class.
27. Have you ever received an anonymous Valentine?
Maybe, but it was probably because the girl may not have signed her name.
28. Have you ever sent an anonymous Valentine?
Nope. I was good about writing my name on everything.
29. Will you be sending an anonymous Valentine this year?
No again.
30. What was the best Valentine gift you ever received?
No idea. Probably that gigantic sucker I got one year.
31. What was the worst?
Anything without a wrapper and loaded with sugar.
32. Have you ever started dating someone on Valentines day?
A-freaking-gain, no. I'm superstitious about it and I've never been in a romantic relationship.

Myself. In all honesty it's too commercialized and while I can appreciate what it's supposed to represent, I've never had the chance to celebrate it with someone so I don't really...care
7. Do you make a big deal about Valentines?
No. Not really.
14. What is something you got last Valentines?
Um, nothing? >.>

Need some serious help guys
Posted 14 years agoMy sister is supposed to graduate during Spring Break (Saint Patty's Day as a matter of fact), which normally wouldn't be a problem. However she's in California so that would mean I wouldn't get to work that week. Being in college, I can only work during breaks from school. I'll tell you this much, I don't make a whole lot even when I am working, but it's enough for a single college guy living on campus. However, my car payments are $243.89 per month and I contribute $30 to charity every month too, so every month I shell out $273.89 without the means to resupply my account. So I have to work a bit, tighten my belt, work again, tighten my belt. You get the picture.
I've run the calculations, and if I don't spend another dime between now and when I start working again, I'll have less than $50 to my name. Granted that doesn't include any tax return, but that's not guaranteed money. Here's the predicament: I can go to California to support my sister for a week, the trip of my lifetime. I could go to the aquarium, the fisherman's wharf, etc. Or I can stay home, by myself for a whole week working, replenishing my supplies. My parents told me that if I did, they'd be willing to reimburse me $200 for taking care of our three cats (we've actually got four, but one of them needs to stay at the vet's so she can get de-clawed). Which would actually save them money as well so they wouldn't have to board all four cats for a whole week. Then if you figure in my tax return (last year I got about $400) I'll have about $900 back in my account.
I'm so stuck. I'm extremely close to my sister and we'd both be heartbroken if I couldn't make it, however, she'd probably understand why I couldn't make it. I really need the money, but I also don't think I could forgive myself for not going to support her. Please guys, I really need some help. I'm at the end of my rope here.

Massive Blizzard
Posted 14 years agoGee Whiz! Here at school we had this white-out blizzard that blew through this past Tuesday that dumped about eight inches (other places got upwards of 14" to 20"), then we got about 4-5 more inches yesterday, then we're supposed to get more tomorrow (Sunday), then we're supposed to get even more on Tuesday and Wednesday that could be even more than what we got on Tuesday this week. I've already missed all of my school from last week (excluding Monday) and now the odds are stacked against us from having many of our classes for next week as well. However, the only problem I have with it (besides extreme boredom) is that the professors will more than likely try to overload us with homework and cram information down our throats in a desperate attempt to play catch-up.
Question and a "stupid administration" moment
Posted 14 years agoQuestion: I'm considering getting a tattoo for my 21st (July 13th). Yay or nay?
Okay, so here at the university I go to, on Jan. 1st they enacted a smoke/tobacco free policy and I'll just say this: it ain't workin'. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to walk to class and not have to smell that horrible cigarette smoke, but maybe it would have been better if they just hadn't bothered. I've seen people just standing around in broad daylight smoking away both around the dorms and around the classroom buildings. The university spent all this time setting up "stop smoking" seminars and tobacco information pamphlets, but my concern is why spend the money, knowing that all us rebellious young adults will find a way to either be sneaky or to flaunt the system? Now I smoke a pipe every now and then, but I only smoked half a bowl or so once a week (Sunday afternoons) so it's not like I'm trying to kick a habit. I know that there are some people where the thought of going without tobacco is a serious thing, but the thought is still there, 'if you knew this was coming, why didn't you prepare?' I'd rather that they continued to permit smoking, but restrict where you can do it more. Anyway, that's my soapbox rant for now, sorry for the spam.

Nevermind
Posted 15 years agoI all of a sudden figured out my GIMP program, so as of right now I'm hard at work coloring one of my more popular images. I've had a lot of requests to color this one in the past, so I'm finally making good on my promise to do so. Hope it matches your expectations!
GIMP help plz!!!!!
Posted 15 years agoOkay, so I'm trying to figure out how to color with my GIMP program. I've got GIMP 2.6, and I know how to make layers, but I don't know how to make them to where I can color my pictures, but leave the lineart on top and intact. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Second Chance
Posted 15 years agoOkay, I've decided that I'm willing to start submitting again. However, I'm not going to post any artwork yet. I've got a story that I've been writing that I'll start submitting first, and then I'll submit more artwork in a couple weeks or so.
Leaving
Posted 15 years agoOkay, so I know people are probably not going to like me much for the drama storm I'm about to unleash upon the world, but I regret to announce that this account is going to be dormant. I'm getting sick of having to explain myself to all you people out there. Yes, I know my style is nearly identical to Brett Booth's, yes, I know I don't always give credit, sometimes it's an honest mistake, other times it's because the picture is merely influenced by him. As I've explained to others, think of my style as chocolate milk. My original style (the milk) was there already. Then I got the Freaks book, and Brett Booth's style (the chocolate powder) came later. However, now that I'm using the book less and less, his style has become a part of my own and it will never really be gone from mine now. SO GET OVER IT!! I'll still watch my watchlist, I'll respond to comments, fave the fave-worthy, but there will be no more art coming from me.
Nice Guys STILL Finish Last
Posted 15 years ago♥ To every guy that said, "Sex can wait"...
♥ To every guy that said, "You're beautiful"...
♥ To every guy that was never too busy to drive across town to see her...
♥ To every guy that gives her flowers and a card when she is sick or down...
♥ To every guy who has given her flowers just because that's how he rolls...
♥ To every guy that said he would die for her...
♥ To every guy that really would...
♥ To every guy that did what she wanted to die for...
♥ To every guy that cried in front of her...
♥ To every guy that she cried in front of...
♥ To every guy that holds hands with her.
♥ To every guy that kisses her with meaning..
♥ To every guy that hugs her when she's sad...
♥ To every guy that hugs her for no reason at all...
♥ To every guy who would give their jacket up for her...
♥ To every guy that calls to make sure she got home safe...
♥ To every guy that would sit and wait for her for hours just to see her for ten minutes...
♥ To every guy that would give his seat up...
♥ To every guy that just wants to cuddle...
♥ To every guy that reassured her that she was beautiful no matter what...
♥ To every guy who told his secrets to her...
♥ To every guy that showed how much he cared through every word and every breath...
♥ To every guy that thought maybe this could be the one...
♥ To every guy that believed in her dreams...
♥ To every guy that would have done anything so she could achieve them...
♥ To every guy that never laughed at her when she told him her dreams...
♥ To every guy that walked her to her car and opened the door...
♥ To every guy that gave his heart...
♥ To every guy who prays that she is happy even if he's not with her...

Good Fur tutorials
Posted 15 years agoHey, I don't know how many of you can help me out with this, but I'm looking for some good tutorials on how to draw fur with traditional media. If you know where I can find some I'd be most appreciative. On a completely unrelated note, I'm getting to go see La Traviata in a couple weeks and I'm super excited!!
