Interview at Movie Theatre in less than an hour!
General | Posted 16 years agoTHEY called ME, yesterday. I had put my application in months ago, but at that time they only said that November was when they would be hiring. They said I'm a good candidate!
I hope all goes well, not keeping my hopes up but the chances sound good. I also have a shiny resume printed on special paper.

General | Posted 16 years agoA computer I can work on, and no longer praying to the porcelain gods, I feel I'm doing well enough to crank out some art.
A new goal is at hand, luckily I inherited my moms wisdom teeth problem, they're impacted and a chance of a tooth abscess because of it. My cheeks and throat have swollen to the point where its difficult to swallow and theres a constant throb. I thought I was just gaining weight, in a way, its good that I'm not, right? Haha XD
I have10 days till December 1st to help pay for the work that will be done, since I have no insurance, my wisdom teeth will be removed at a dentist school...its cheap too. Theyre supervised by someone who knows how, so Im not THAT worried. All I know is that if I dont get them removed now, it will cause surrounding teeth damage, muscle damage, or could even close off my airway from the swelling. Good times :D

Im so tired, I want to lay down, laying down feels so goood when yer so tired. But the stomach says no. So I just stay up, sitting up so its happy, drinking water and rambling like a goof.
Had this for over 2 weeks now, what is it? Maybe mild food poisoning? Needs to go away.

[Trade] I envy you artists, help me get my inspiration back!
General | Posted 16 years agoThings are starting to recover to where they were, I was finally able to get another computer and re-establish SAI on it (love that program). But, trying to draw these past few weeks, I've learned something about myself.
I am useless without inspiration.
How do the rest of you do it? Able to crank out pictures like no tomorrow! I find it hard to create good quality pictures without any inspiration or will. When I get into an artists slump (about a month every half a year), it seems like all desire to draw vanishes, or when I do want to draw, I cant even make circles. Veerrry frustrating.
Realizing this, I am trying to find of ways to remedy this problem.
First I am going to try with 2 simple trades, nothing super special, but maybe drawing a new toon will help. Sketches to Flat Color. Doesnt matter. Taking 2 slots :)
Other thing I might try to fix this is completely deleting my commission page and just doing themes that keep me interested so I dont lose inspiration. I highly dislike leaving people hanging so Imma fix this.

Job Update
General | Posted 16 years agoSo, I called back the place Monday, for him to tell me that they decided to not hire anyone at that time, but to keep calling every week.
Eh, I figured something like that would happen. EVERY place Ive tried just doesnt have enough hours for their current employees at all. Its a bummer, but I'm over it.
This journal was to give an update to those who have been reading the interview progress journals. Not a QQ journal.
Hopefully in a week or two of calling, they'll want that 2nd interview. Maybe..

General | Posted 16 years agoSo the interview was at 7am, I arrived on time and it began. It went very well and everyone there is SO friendly. He told me there are 2 interviews, with two different managers who do it, for two opinions.
First one went well, Im being set up for the second, and last interview.
Everything seems going splendidly....but, I have 12 other people competing for that opening.
Sigh x.x
Now the question is, how many of them will make it to a second interview? Maybe if I wish really hard, theyre nothing but a bunch of punks. *wish wish wish*

Up to mah eyeballs in applications, calls, and paperwork. Its starting to make me pretty nervous on my commissions. I hope yall dont wanna kill me yet, but this is why I don't accept any money till after the progress sketch :3 Any that decides to send it ahead of time, it never gets touched until commission is completed.
I figure its good to keep information going to show where I'm at. I really don't know what the casual wait is or if people tolerate real life events <.< I'm still a nub at this so it makes meh nervous XD

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- An official autopsy report released Friday found that cocaine use contributed to the heart disease that suddenly killed TV pitchman Billy Mays in June, but his family called the finding "speculative" and was considering getting an independent look at the results.
The Hillsborough County medical examiner's office previously determined that the bearded, boisterous TV spokesman had a heart attack in his sleep. His wife found him unresponsive in bed in their Tampa condo June 28.
Mays, 50, was a pop-culture fixture with his energetic commercials pitching gadgets and cleaning products like Orange Glo and OxiClean.
While heart disease was the primary cause of his death, the medical examiner listed cocaine as a "contributory cause of death."
The medical examiner "concluded that cocaine use caused or contributed to the development of his heart disease, and thereby contributed to his death," the office said in a press release.
The office said Mays last used cocaine in the few days before his death but was not under the influence of the drug when he died. Hillsborough County spokeswoman Lori Hudson said nothing in the toxicology report indicated the frequency of Mays' cocaine use.
Cocaine can raise the arterial blood pressure, directly cause thickening of the left wall of the ventricle and accelerate the formation of atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries, the release said.
The toxicology tests also showed therapeutic amounts of painkillers hydrocodone, oxycodone and tramadol, as well as anti-anxiety drugs alprazolam and diazepam. Mays had suffered hip problems and was scheduled for hip-replacement surgery the day after he was found dead.
Mays' family questioned the finding of cocaine and criticized the medical examiner's officer for issuing the report.
"We were totally unaware of any non-prescription drug usage and are actively considering an independent evaluation of the autopsy results," Mays' family said in a statement.
The statement said the family was "extremely disappointed" by the release of the information. They said the report "contains speculative conclusions that are frankly unnecessary and tend to obscure the conclusion that Billy suffered from chronic, untreated hypertension, which only demonstrates how important it is to regularly monitor one's health."
Longtime friend and colleague AJ Khubani, founder and CEO of the "As Seen on TV" product company Telebrands, said Mays never showed any signs of drug use and was always prepared for his many commericial shoots.
"I'm just shocked," Khubani said. "He was the model of a responsible citizen."
Mays, a McKees Rocks, Pa., native, developed his style demonstrating knives, mops and other "As Seen on TV" gadgets on Atlantic City's boardwalk. For years he worked as a hired gun on the state fair and home show circuits, attracting crowds with his booming voice and genial manner.
He got his start on TV on the Home Shopping Network and then branched out into commercials and infomercials. He developed such a strong following that he became the subject of a reality TV series, Discovery Channel's "Pitchmen."

[Pimping] Injured dog in need of help~

knowntobite 's dog is injured, and in desperate need of surgery. I'm an animal lover myself, and after getting out of a sticky situation, I found out how useful spreading the word can be.
