Stolen jacket update, record cold, and new species created!
Posted 11 years agoHowdy everyone! First off, thank ya'll very much for the watches and faves! You furs and scalies mean a lot to me.As far as my stolen Jasper jacket goes,it was found mysteriously at customer service yesterday where I work and the Loss Prevention manager is spending time looking at all camera data as we speak.*Yaaaays!*I was told swift action would be taken if they see who put it there.(update on that later). In other bear den news, south central Texas had record-breaking cold this morning for the date.21f at my den and 15 at Austin-Bergstram airport. Many spots in the Texas hill country saw 11-13f,breaking records for Jan.7th.As far as any new art from me goes,I created a new species of furry I have titled "Tigglies"...They are a semi giant, gentle troll like species with rabbit soft like green fur and purple to blue headfur and tail tips.I'll share a pic as soon as my copyright is approved by my attorney.*hugs to all*
Happy Holidays,stolen jacket,a few notes,and art update
Posted 11 years agoHowdy to all! Thank you for the recent watches and faves! This fat old, clumsy bear had a nice Christmas from my family and friends.I got my new robe even though it was not purple in color.Gray suits me just fine.I wish happy holidays to everyone here! Unfortunatly my Jasper dragon coat was stolen from work on Black Friday from the breakroom.I was saddened of the loss, and hope bad things happen to the thief! Its not the coat that matters, but the art meant so much, since I put a lot of effort in it.Humans are the most crooked species out there.Other than that, the weather is typical for December here in central Texas with cold nights and cool afternoons.Only had one episode of freezing rain on the second week of the month, which resulted in 400 road accidents. We just simply dont know how to drive is such conditions down here.Other news is that i'll be sharing more old art in the upcoming weeks from my wall-filled gallery in my apt.Thank y'all again for supporting my art,and watching this fat old, crazy fat bear over the years.
an important update part two
Posted 12 years agoGreetings to all! First off, thank you for the watches and faves, and secondly, thank you for the concern over my well being. The bills have caught up with me from missing so much work and the insurance is not paying my bills fast enough.I must pay important bills first, and the internet is gonna be on the back burner for a week or two.The first weeks of November will be art on paper,as well as in my paint programs. For those of you that have requests for me,hang in there.I should be back online by the 16th of November.I'll have a Thanksgiving pic ready by then as well.Thank you all again for your support through my hard times, and this fat old, crazy bear loves you all!
An important update!
Posted 12 years agoGreetings folks! Three weeks ago today I was driving my mothers Pt cruiser to pick up groceries when an uninsured drunk driver hit me from behind and gave me serious whiplash, which put me in the hospital for nine days.I'm going to work parttime for the next three weeks at Lowes and hopefully my insurance company can sue that asshole and make things right for me.I am in off and on serious pain and am taking meds.I'm home now and just not in the mood for anything as far as cooking and artwork goes. The hospital stay was nothing but boredom with the trash thats on TV these days and not so hot food there.I did doodle on paper quite a bit,but nothing to write home about. For you folks awaiting art requests,it may be several more weeks before I get back to normal.I'm sure you will understand.I have enoted most of you,but just in case I missed a few,I'm mentioning it here.As usual, thanks to those who have watched me the last three weeks and faved my work.I'm a strong bear and will recover soon. Thanks for taking the time to read this, fellow furs!
Finally! A taste of Fall,a few notes, and art update
Posted 12 years agoHi everyone! First of all, thank you for the watches and faves! As of yesterday,a significant rainfall event happened here in the lone star state, and some flooding occurred here and there. My den got 3.90 inches in 5 hours and the temperatures were 20 degrees cooler than the last coupla weeks. If you live in central Texas, you will really notice the morning lows more comfy the next few mornings, too. As far as a few other notes go,my stepdad had a nasty fall a few weeks ago and broke half his ribcage. My time on FA is limited due to me having to go over to my folks place and help with the simple chores like lawn mowing, driving him to and from doctor visits and so forth. He is a very strong man and will get through this in time.My mother and brother run a re-sale shop east of here and cant be home at all times. But anyhoo,I take my drawing utensils with me so I can still draw everyday. For those of you that have requested art,it will take a bit longer to complete.Thank you for your patience. My grandpa bear used to say: "Son! Good things come to those who wait!" Thank y'all again for your support and this fat old, clumsy bear cherishes your company!
Hot hot,and more hot goes on,but a few notes,too!
Posted 12 years agoHi everybody! As usual I wanna thank everyone for the watches and faves! You guys mean a lot to me! The last month has been too hot for this fat old, crazy bear!We had a coupla downpours in July, and we are above average in rainfall, but the times in between are killer heatwaves! This week it has been 102-107f,and this bear waddles to work in the heat and hopefully this weekend will bring some relief in the form of summer showers!Thank you folks again for my pleasant time on FA!
Hot hot hot,and more hot.4th of July,and
Posted 12 years agoHi everyone! First off I wanna thank everyone for the watches and faves. Second, its so hot here, even the lizards stay underground. It's been 100-107 the past week and only small chances for rain.Other than that not much else is going on here and will be doing an occasional art trade or request here and there, but need to catch up on more art for myself, too. The 4th of July is around the corner,so everybody be safe on the roads and with fireworks.
Mayday,Burrfday,Storms,and new stuff!
Posted 12 years agoHiyas all!! First the usual.I wanna thank you for the faves and watches! You guys are the best! I got so many sweet compliments on my work recently and i'm very thankful! My birthday strikes on the 23rd,and will be closer to the senior citizen category by three years *unghs*Nevermind that,as I will continue to draw and post art in a younger furry mode.I also had a complete hard drive meltdown last week, and for those of you waiting for requests,it will be a bit longer.I want to thank each and every one of you for a joyous year here on FA,and please...just make this fat old, clumsy bear a cheap cake for his birthday,Just a no. 52 candle will do!...Also,I will go on storm chases later in the season,as that is another hobby of mine!
Happy Easter to all!

Springtime already?? Art requests, and a few notes
Posted 12 years agoHelloooooo!! To all! First things first as usual.Thank you for all the faves, watches, and just for being my furiend!Faving, and watching me means a lot to this big fat,old clutzy bear.Hibernation is hard this winter, because the last week,it feels like Spring in the lone star state. It was 81 today! I've seen many winters like this, when it has sleeted in December, and early Janurary, and then spring comes two months early.Us texas furs know that a last minute blast of arctic air can plunge down from up north in late Feb.and early March, and I've seen ice and snow in the first week of March many times.
But anyhoo.*sighs* I have also hit an "artists block" in the last two weeks, and you artists out there know what I mean by that.I get these two or three times a year, and some can last a month. To the ppl that I said I would do requests for, please be patient. As Grandma and Grandpa bear always said to me:"good things come to those who wait" RL activities with my folks have also been demanding lately,as my brother and I take turns caring for their errand needs, and yard work, which is year'round in Texas!
I have a wonderful FA family, that grows each month.I really enjoy meeting the new furries and scaleys via yahoo messenger, and try to dedicate as much free time to those.I mostly remain invisible due to my arthritis in my paws, but feel free to IM me anytime, and there is a 50% chance i'm there.Just drop me a note.
*the bear answers the dinner bell*

Tornadoes in December,Christmas piccys,and a coupla notes
Posted 13 years ago Greetings to all! First off I wanna thank everyone for the watches and faves of late!!You guys really make me feel welcome here, and will share more of my art.
And yes,Tornadoes happen year around here in central Texas, and a outbreak may occur here this afternoon and evening. Then its a hard freeze for Tuesday morning, and cilly, hibernating weather the rest of the week.A bit early for this fat bear to begin sleeping, but my naps get longer and longer each day.I'll finally conk out the day after Christmas, and wont wake up until April.
I will post several old drawings I did in the past, that are too big to scan,so I'll photogragh them. They are Christmas themed drawings.Other goings on include a possible visit from a book publisher wanting to read my book that I have been writing the past 16 months, and will keep my paws crossed for that. Also,I've decided to look into a possible purchase of a digital drawing pad in Janurary from my tax return, and see if I like it.Until then, this fat old, clumsy bear wishes everyone here a very merry Christmas! *huge group hugs*

10,000 pageviews,Halloween,Mural,and a few notes
Posted 13 years ago Greetings to all my fans out there!! First things first.I want to thank all of you for a wonderful 8 months i've had here so far.Thank you for all of the Faves, watches, and just for being so kind to me.I am still having a great time here, meeting new folks, seeing the wonderful art,and chatting with you in my den.I feel that 10,000 pageviews is a milestone for this fat old, clumsy bear, and I owe it to you all!
Halloween is here, and its my favorite time of year.I love candy, costumes, and the gateway to cooler ,crisp weather.I prolly wont do a pic of myself dressed up,but am enjoying your pics i've seen so far from you folks.
The mural project has hit some stagnant times for many reasons. As of last month,my aging parents need more from my RL family as far as helping out with yard chores, shoppong, doctor appts.and me wanting to be with them a little more these days.I decided to work on the project at their home nearby, which means I can dabble on it once or twice a week in their garage. My reason for that is because here at my den,I can still do pics for me,and any art trading I can do.At this point, the rough sketch of 26 characters is done, and have done the outline of Dragomike as the backdrop. The rest will take several more months to complete.
Elsewhere in the den,I got my new teeth this morning, and can proudly smile again. My new avatar reflects that, too*grins* I also aquired two new giant plush bears to keep me company when I'm up late doing PC thingies, too!Lets see........I think that is it for now,but this clumsy, fat bear has a horrible memory, and I may realize later that I forgot something.Oh welll, huh?
Thank you all again for the support, and this bear, and his mode of transportation,Jasper dragon, loves you all!*huge group hugs*

Why I do not go digital/mural update
Posted 13 years ago Greetings to all I cherish! First off,a big thank you to those who have watched me,and who faved my art since my last journal.I'm am very thrilled! The question has been raised several times over the last month,as to why I have not gone digital in this modern day of art postings.Quite simple, actually.I have been drawing on paper, canvas, wood, parchment, cardboard, and glass for 45 years, and the feel of the digital table was very uncomfortable to me.I've tried it on a friends PC,and it just was not for me.Sketch tablets can be taken anywhere, and I find it more relaxing to sit there with real paper and real media, such as a pen or pencil.I do a lot of sketches at work on my lunchbreak, with a sandwich in my right hand, and pencil in the other. *laughs* Yes,I'm a "lefty". Dont get me wrong, but I see some very beautiful work come from a tablet and there a lot of very talented ppl that use them. But I dont think it's for me.This fat old, clumsy bear is too up in years for new tricks. All I need is my scanner and a decent camera to get my art across.A lot of my work is straight from the PC,and some of it begins on paper, with PC touch-ups,of course.I cant afford those fancy scanners and cameras.but I hope my postings are good enough for you to see.
The mural update! Last weekend I started the first of the sketches with the furs I do not know to well, but The ones I do know well,no problem. The four by eight foot sheet of Lauan plywood has been primed, and is ready to go.Hopefully by the end of September, the actually painting gets underway.I predict 60 days of painting,at roughly 12 hours per week,as I have a fulltime job at Lowes,to keep up with too. there will be 22 characters, six if which are mine,in this project. The rest of you know who you are.In the end,I may see room for a few more if time warrants.I am doing this project like my past murals, just for fun.Furries, scaleys, and pachys, are all that I ever drew in the last 30 years anyways. Some landscapes and city scenes would be the only exception.
Again, thank you all for your support and making my FA page a happy one to visit.I'll ask around for the ppl that do,or do not want to be in this project, and post a final list by Oct.1st.That could mean last minute openings.

Just a coupla notes,again!
Posted 13 years ago Greetings to all again! First things first.Thank you for all of the watches and faves! I did not get to everyone and thank you,but this fat old, crazy bear loves you all! The past week rains has inundated my den with unusual July heavy storms.I am in between projects now,and my book is almost ready for the publishers to read the outcome. My goal is to have it written by August 15th.Several commission pieces have come and gone also. Thanks to all who like my work, and thank you for buying them.My next big project is a mural ,which will feature 22 furries, scaleys, and packys. But it will be many many weeks away. The "camping furries" mural is an example of what my next nural will entail.Just a bunch of my pals having a good ,honest time together.
For now,I leave with you a pic of some clocks I did recently in my den.My third pic in my rasslin' series is coming soon, too. To the others I want to do art for? Please be patient,as I can draw them soon for you.Below is a list of furs, scaleys, and packys in the big pic so far:
Jasper dragon
Baroo
Et dragon
The Captain Foxx
Dragomike
Rumples T.wolf
Rowdy rabbit
Humfry hippo
Eric Mcneal
Pounds panda

Posted 13 years ago Greetings to all! First off, thanks to those that have watched and faved me.It is alweighs appreciated.Secondly, there seems to be a lot of birthdays this month.Happy birthday to who ever has one this month.Mine is on the 23rd as well.Other than that, things are going quite well.I have a childrens book publisher going to look at my book on the 4th of June, and related artwork (nervously pops bubblewrap).I still have a weighs to go in completing it,but he wants to see whats going on so far.
The warmest time of year is approaching, and this bear does not fair well in the heat,so expect to see me with very little on.Maybe even nothing at all:D My commission slots are full to the brim, and new slots will open up in mid June ,at this point. To those that have made purchases, thank you,and hope you are enjoying them.I do not post finished commissions here, because they paid for them, and it is theirs to keep.Lately,i've done a coupla freebies, which I do not mind at all.I'll do art trades, but only at my leisure,as I am very busy with RL things. Also,I'm getting a lot of new contacts from ppl in my Yahoo messenger.I ignore them because they do not tell me anything about themselves. If you really wanna chat with me,you must tell me who you are in a small statement.I do not just add someone evrytime a name shows up.I'm a fun bear to chat with.I may be a fat old crazy bear, but I love my fans out there.I,ve had several of you already want to do an RP with my dragon,Jasper. He gives rides on the weekends. There is an actual waiting list for next weekends flights, too.
I guess thats all for now,and thank you all again for your support. *hugs all*

Chillin out now!
Posted 13 years ago First I wanna thank you for your kindness of late. This bear got spoiled by those who shared their concern for my back injury at work the other day.I thank you all. Also the faves and watches, too.Today, I feel like giving something back in return.I will be laid up here in my den for a few more days, and want to share several more piccys of my older stuff. All will be scans from my portfolio that I take to work everyday,in case I get a drawing idea on my lunch break. Thanks again for your kindness out there, and remember: Everyday is a beautiful day!
A bit of a tooth problem arose today / book update
Posted 13 years agoHi to all!.First,I want to thank all of you who have watched me and all of the faves:) I am very greatful to ya'll and proud to be on such a great fandom site.I woke up this morning with a severe front toothache!I even refused my sizeable breakfast from my "in den" chefs,Rumples T. Wolf and Rowdy rabbit:P They whisked me to the village dentist in our big box truck, and I had to have a tooth pulled right away.I went to work in the lumberyard after that and my beaver co-workers noticed my smile. They gasped! *rolled eyes at them* I will have an implant put in in a few weeks. That will prolly hurt, too:P Anyhoo,I had a childrens book publisher that I work with read several chapters yesterday at lunch. As far as the artwork goes, she said I need to trim the furry and scalie characters up a bit.Not have them fat,but make them sorta "chunky" instaed ,for the kiddos sake.I can live with that,I reckon.Otherwise, she indicated I have a good thing going here.Science fiction books and movies are hot right now,she implicated. She was also glad that I do not use any language worse than "darn" or "heck" type of words. It wil take another three to six months to finish the book. Then she will help me to get it published.I have many thanks to you folks who are hoping the best for me. *A big hugs to you all*
Saying thanks
Posted 13 years ago Greetings to all! First ,a big thanks to all that has visited here.I am greatful.Second,my book is keeping me busy so I cant be here as much as I would like.My goal is to finish it by the end of May.Thats when I get older:P I have a childrens book publisher already looking at me here in Texas.I have given sneek peeks to a coupla furs here, and they say I may really have something.I hope so.I also have had many ask me what it is about. The only thing I will say about it here is that it is a science fiction story involving four of my characters in a "G" rated setting.Aside from that, the weather here is picture perfect this time of year.I will do most of my writing out under my favorite oak tree with plenty of snacks and lemonade. In the meantime,I'll share various piccys I have drawn in the past,as well as one or two that I'm doing with my new art software.Again,a big thanks to ya'll and wish this fat 'ol bear luck:)
getting real busy with new book
Posted 13 years ago Greetings to all.I may be away a bit more that i'd like to be.I have resumed writing my new book.It is an ALL audience sci-fi theme with a few of my characters in it.I will post the pic of the art soon to this FA page.I will also still post my new stuff as I can get it drawn, but may be several days in between.
I am greatful of the faves and watches by ya'll and will do my best to keep up:)
