Happy new year to all!
Posted 14 years agoHopefully this year will be better than the last
As usual I've been pretty much occupied these last couple of weeks (well, christmas is a busy time for pretty much everybody), but I've got some great ideas for sketches floating around in my head, so will knuckle down and draw them when I have the time. One of my new year resolutions is to spend more time drawing art (something which I've not been doing enough of), so if I don't upload at least one piece of artwork every week, you can all shoot me down! I'll start faving more stuff too!

twitch_the_dragon has done a good job here. Although he didn't ask for permission, I like the fact that he's done improvememnts to it rather than just resubmitting it as his own (because obviously that's copyright).

A fresh start...
Posted 15 years agoOnce again, I do apologise for my inactivity here at FA. The FA block has now been lifted, and I feel like posting art again. However, I have decided to make a fresh start. Don't worry though, I'm not going anywhere.
I'm going to remove all those watching me and all faves. This is because throughout my inactivity, people and artwork here have come and gone, so I need to do some tidying up. So don't panic if I end up not watching you or remove your art from my faves. It's not like I don't like you all anymore, I'm just re-booting myself. I may also move some of my art into scraps.
Also, I'm still going to be drawing Denko but with a few changes to his character to make him that little bit more interesting. I'm also gonna do a character profile of both him and his brother Lord Zarlock (of which I WILL draw more of!).
*EDIT*
Removed all faves and people I'm watching. Just need to watch those I REALLY love and re-fave some pics, but I'll do those tomorrow. Right now, I'm pretty tired. Nitey-nite!

Also, ICO and Shadow Of The Colossus are getting the HD treatment. Both were great games on the PS2, especially the latter of which I have played and completed MANY times! :D

HATCHDAY!!!
Posted 15 years agoYou heard right! 24 years ago, my little head poked out of an egg and I got my first glimpse of the world!
So, happy hatchday to me!
BTW I'm really, really sorry guys for my inactivity. The problem is that my life has been pretty busy at the moment, especially with work, and I have many other things to get on with in life that are more important. However, I do have some good news. I have been working on a small comic that tells the origins of Denko and his evil brother Lord Zarlock. It's still WIP, but I will upload the first few pages soon. I'm also thinking about doing reference sheets for both characters.
So, happy hatchday to me, and I WILL be back with some more art soon.

OMG!
Posted 15 years agoJust realised I've got a load of artwork in my inbox dating all the way back to Feb 28th! I'm gonna go through most of them tonight, so be prepared to see comments for artwork you posted months ago!
Once again, I apologise for my absence. It's not that I've lost interest in this site, just that I've had more important things on my mind.

My big bro's getting married tomorrow!
Posted 15 years agoYep, you heard that right! He's gonna have a missus! :D
Plus I'm the best man, so now doubt I'll get heavily drunk, forgret the rings etc etc... :D But seriously, I'm really looking forward to it!
Aside from job hunting and more hours working at a local supermarket, this is one of the main reasons for my lack of activity on this site. Hopefully, once this is over and done with, I'll be commenting, faving and posting more artwork.

Just letting you guys know...
Posted 15 years ago...that I'm not dead
Sorry for for being absent from this site for a while. My life's been kinda busy at the moment job-wise. Been doing more hours at my local supermarket, plus I've got some more work experience Gonna be shadow working in the testing department on the 23rd for a newish company called Supermassive Games, a video games developer that specialises in developing family friendly games for the PS3 They've only been going since September 2008 so they have yet to release their first product. I've already been to have a little chat with them, and they're really nice guys! Can't wait for the day to come
It won't be long before I submit some more stuff. I did actually show them some character designs for a game that I've been working on for years, and I thought you guys may wanna see them for yourselves In the meantime, I've got to get through 764 submissions and 316 journals!

I'm still here...
Posted 16 years agoSorry guys and girls if I've been quiet recently. I've been coming to this site pretty much everyday since my last journal entry. It's just that I've had lots on my mind recently what with jobs and christmas coming up (is it that time of year already!?). As a result, I've been looking at the pics and things, but never got round to faving or commenting on them. As I type, I have 424 entries and 95 journals to view and comment on!
I'll be spending a few hours going through it all, so don't be surprised if I fave and comment on something you submitted almost 2 months ago.
Shouldn't be too long before I submit something new. I've got a little surprise for all of you, but I need to finish it off first.
UPDATE:
Right, I've finally finished looking through all of my messages and stuff now, picking out the cream of the crop. We'll now return you to your normal viewing.

Birthday report...
Posted 16 years agoWell, now that my birthday celebration has officially ended, I can now tell you about it...
My actual birthday was last wednesday, but the celebrations started Monday evening when I had a night on the town with my best mate. Spent some time hanging around bars and spending loadsa money on drinks before getting a taxi back to his place. Stayed overnight and surprisingly woke up the next morning early (9 o'clock) and no hangover! My friend wasn't too good though, and the weather was sh*t! Rained all day! So we didn't go anywhere. We just stayed in played on the Wii and PS3 a lot! We had scouts that night, so I had dinner at theres (meatballs!). it was my mates last night at scouts as he decided to quit after being in the scouts for 8 years, which meant that I got promoted to Senior Patrol Leader I got a lovely box of choccies (Cadbury's Miniature Heroes! mmmmm... nomnom) and a wooden basket of Black Sheep ale (great stuff!). Got a pint glass too!
Woke up the next morning at home and it was officially my birthday! Opened up lots of cards as well as 3 books from my bro and his girlfriend. Got "Into the Darkness" by Harry Turtledove, "The NeverEnding Story" by Michael Ende (the movie is awesome, but I've never read the book!), and last but not least,
neondragon's "DragonArt: How to Draw Fantastic Dragons and Other Fantasy Creatures"! It's a great book, and I urge everyone who is having difficulty drawing dragons (like me) to buy it!
I also got the telly that I was supposed to have (We purchased it on saturday but was given the wrong one), and it's a great telly, especially for the price! It's a Samsung 32" LCD Full HD TV... all for £379! I had to pay for most of it though... my parents offered to pay £50 towards it for my birthday Still, you can't go wrong at that price!
And I was away this weekend, staying at my auntie and uncle's house in Gloucester (which explains why I uploaded
JargonIceDragon's birthday pic via my PSP). It's literally right on the border between England and Wales! I'm not kidding, Wales is like 20 minutes drive from where they are! Also, not only do they have a great house, but the scenery is stunning! Nothing but hills and countryside Every time we stay over there, I look at the view and it just leaves me totally inspired! No wonder they've lived there for about 40 years! Also, it's a great place to be if you love dragons, especially as the house nearest to them is called "Dragon Cottage"! It even has little statuettes of dragons around the front of the house! :-D Should also not that I started reading "Into The Darkness" whilst I was there. Very good, but it takes me nearly 2 hours to read just one chapter! They are THAT long!
So yeah, birthday celebrations went well, but it's back to normal from now on

Back from work experience
Posted 16 years agoust got back from my last day there, and all I can say is that after spending 3 full days there, I can safely say that I had a fantastic time being there! The atmosphere was brilliant, and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. They've got nice offices too! I did get to test some games, but they are to be kept top secret so I'm afraid I can't say which games I tested.
I also got to play Fable II on the XBOX 360 a lot, and completed it today! It's really good! Glad I had a chance to play it because I don't own an XBOX 360. Reasons are because my family have far too many computers and consoles in the house (only a few of them are mine), and my dad is not a fan of Microsoft so he wouldn't like it if I ended up getting one. Shame really, because apart from the console's reliability issues (RROD anyone?) I have been tempted to get one as there seems to be a lot of very good games for it. Then of course there's XBOX Live.
So overall, I really enjoyed working for Lionhead Studios. Before, I just knew that they made great games, but now I know that they are a fantastic company to work for as well! I'm seriously considering working there full time, and seeing as its my birthday soon I will try and see if I can get the Mac ports of all their games (I'm more of a Mac user than a Windows one). I know they don't get much for these versions (probably nothing at all, since the Mac versions are done by Feral Interactive), but it just comes to show that I will always love them and their games, no matter what I play them on and how much I pay for them!
Lionhead Studios... BEST GAME DEVELOPER EVER!!!

Work Experience! :-)
Posted 16 years agoStarting from tomorrow until Thursday, I'll be doing some work experience for one of the best british computer and video game developers... Lionhead Studios
I dunno if they made it big anywhere else other than the UK, but these guys are the ones responsible for the "Fable" and "Black & White" games. They also had a hit with "The Movies"
I'll only be testing games, but still this will be a great experience for me.
You never know, you guys could be owning and playing game that I've worked on in a few years time

Bonjour!
Posted 16 years agoI'm back :)
Had a very nice time. Weather was nice, and so was my auntie and uncle's house. It doesn't cover much of an area, but it does have four floors and a courtyard :). Only problem is that we didn't have a car most of the time, as my uncle's car got smashed in the back and it had to be sent off for repair. He did get a courtesy car, but it was a 2-seater van! Not much good when there's five of us
Anyway, I'm not going to chat about it for much longer. I've got 105 submissions to view and 47 journals to read!

Au Revoir!
Posted 16 years agoYou're probably looking at the title of this journal and thinking that I am leaving FA for good, but I'm not. I'm not leaving anytime soon.
I'm going on holiday to the south of France with my parents on Monday for 11 days, and we'll be staying at my auntie and uncle's house they have down there. That means that I won't be able to visit this site for nearly 2 weeks, so don't panic if I'm being quiet.
Man, my inbox is going to get swamped with submissions, journals etc when I get back!!!

See ya later guys!

Sorting out my account
Posted 16 years agoWow! My first journal entry! I can't believe it!
Anyways, in case you haven't noticed, I've been sorting out my account here at FA. There is now some profile info on my main page, and I'm going to go through all my messages and faves. Also, it won't be too long before I upload some more artwork for all of you to say "boo!" and throw tomatoes at (I really do suck at drawing, although I'm getting better at it). One of them is a basic picture of an angry dragon (which is more of a colouring test really). I won't give too much away about the other picture, but let's just say that you will need to have a box of tissues ready as it's going to be really, REALLY emotional!
