Posted 12 years agoBarring a few hiccups, I had a pretty good time. Sad that its over, but I'm ready to plan for the future, even if I'm jumping the gun a bit. I met a bunch of really cool people, and I'm thankful for those of you who put up with my presence. I hope we meet again at future cons. Not sure what details to post here, or if there's really any to post... so ask questions if you want to know more about my experience?

[Urgent] AnthroCon Room Space Available

Fancyskunk, 
xvRAVERvx, and I have space available in our Westin room for Anthrocon. We're booked from the 3rd through the 8th, arriving early evening on the 3rd and leaving in the morning on the 8th. The room has a single, king-sized bed, and will have a $173 per person cost. None of us drink or smoke, and we're not suiters so there's plenty of closet space.Please contact myself or my roommates and we'll see what we can do. I'll also be posting on the AC forums later, and will be making periodic tweets when I can until this is resolved. If you find someone who's looking for a room, please direct them here.

Still Alive...
Posted 12 years agoJust... Life hit me like a ton of bricks. Full-time classes, part-time work, and it feels like I never sleep as good as I should. Anyways, just wanting to let everyone know I'm still around... Will be nuking my journal list, since it's sitting at over 36k and there's no way I'll be able to catch up on all that. I hope everyone on here is doing pretty well. If you have the extra time, I'd love to hear from you all and see how you're doing.
Just to let people know, I'm going to be making a go for AC this year with some friends of mine, so let me know if I might be able to see you there. :) It's always nice to be able to meet people in person, and I'd love to meet you guys!

Megaplex 2012 Review
Posted 13 years agoFor my first con ever, this was pretty frickin' awesome. Most of my time was spent with 
tenacious-barkaghm, pyrothefox, fancyskunk, sydstoat, and gennyfox, all of whom i spent most of the weekend apologizing too due to fear for annoying them.
There was nothing I didn't love about this convention... except on Saturday night, when I randomly became horribly sick and the guys listed above basically took care of me and made sure I was ready to go the next day, which I am ridiculously thankful for. Highlights include (in no particular order) the live Pawpet Show, JR's comedy routine, Uncle Kage's story hour, the live show of Julie Bunny Must Die, and the live Rabbit Hole panel; all of which were so awesome that I just couldn't stand it.

Posted 13 years agoI got a job. I started orientation today, and will be working as a front loader at Lowe's. Its only a seasonal job, but hopefully I'll be able to become a permanent employee later on....
An Apology and Some Musings...
Posted 14 years agoAlright, first off I would like to apologize to anyone and everyone I've seemed distant to or fallen out of contact with. I don't mean for it to happen, but it does. I will say that I'm attempting to get on messengers more often, but want to warn you that i'm also job-searching, so i can't guarantee i'll be on a whole bunch if that works out for me.
I've decided I need to be more outgoing and pester the people I wish to talk to more often. This means that some of you may be getting random messages that will probably begin with a gently *prod* or random appearance. Social interaction in real life right now is limited beyond my interactions with my family and the few friends that I still managed to keep contact with, so the rp stuff is merely a way for me to keep semi-active and keep myself from thinking about certain things too much. Thinking about certain things leads me to being a tremendous bummer and that doesn't need to occur when I'm trying to be more social.
I've noticed that, while I'm generally open about my interests and feelings, I tend to still be a little guarded... My main fear in dealing with anyone is that they'll realize how much of a fuck-up I can be and decide that I'm not worth the trouble... No, not many people have given me reason to think that, I just really don't have the high opinion of myself that a lot of you guys seem to have. You guys tend to put me up on a pedestal... and it gets scary. People keeps saying that I'm a great friend, that I'm wonderful and all this other stuff.... but... I just don't see it, honestly. I look in a mirror, and nothing I see seems worth the effort that you guys put forward to try and keep me happy.
I love you guys a lot, even if I don't know you that well... what I do know of you, what I learn through observation and the occasional moment of interaction is that those I associate with and gravitate towards are open-minded and caring people. You guys are like a big family, albeit somewhat dysfunctional and a bit crazy. Even though I turned 21 last year, I still feel like a kid... there's so much I don't know, about myself and about others, and it worries me because without knowledge of certain things, I can't be ready for what's coming... I have trouble making plans for the future, because I have so little control at this point in time that I really have no way to enact my plans without relying on others. Relying on others is hard when, a lot of the time, reliance on them has ended badly or with consequences.
Sometimes I feel that if I could just fade away without even leaving memories, that others might be better off. But I know that that's the wrong idea... I've done some good, I think, even if I am a pain in the ass most of the time. I want to help others be happy in any way I can... even if the cost is my own happiness sometimes. We can't all be happy all the time, but if I can help even one person feel better after they've had a shitty day, then I feel a little better...
I don't know if anyone will take the time to read this... but if you do, thank you... if you couldn't take the time then... that's okay too. I know people are busy and the unstructured thoughts of some random person in another part of the world sometimes just isn't that interesting.

Happy Birthday to...
Posted 14 years ago...a very tired (but not sleepy) wolfcat.
I'm 21 now... legally allowed to drink alcohol, which means nothing because i just... don't drink. I've tried sips of lots of different things and they did little more than make me queasy and want to wash my mouth out. More often than not, the scent of these beverages just makes me gag and I won't even touch 'em. Oh well.
Anyways... I should be sleeping right now... but i'm having trouble falling asleep... mainly due to a combination of a fucked up sleep schedule, bile burning the back of my throat, and my stomach growling at me...
So... what do? And what's up with you guys?

Posted 14 years agoIf I were to do an art stream later on, how many people would be interested in attending? We'd just hang out and chat and stuff while I practice inking and coloring in SAI. I'm also seeing about what stream thing would be best... I've used blogtv in the past, but do you guys think I should try something else? I'd like to be able to broadcast my music out, but my computer has very little room on it, so i'm iffy on installing new software or anything on here. So... what do you guys think?

Posted 14 years agoOn September 30th, 2005, I lost my father due to a car accident.... That's why I'll be moody/distant today, if anyone's curious. Yes, I'm doing alright, but... Still, it's an anniversary day that I don't particularly enjoy.
For those on my +watch list who have noticed a massive influx of +faves and a distinct lack of comments to go with them: I am currently working on my FA submissions backlog (i've never nuked it and honestly don't want to) which currently boasts 29,181 Submissions (stories, music, and artwork). It used to be at 31k, but I've spent the past week working on it... I'm doing my best to get through this. All I gotta' say is that I'll comment if possible, but i really wanna' get through this... I'm working all the way back to May of 2008, so... x.x; please, bear with me.
Anyways, hope everyone's doing alright... Take care! I love you all. *offers a big hug to everyone*

Posted 14 years agoDoes the banner do anything to any of us? If you're being mad about this, then.. honestly, you need to chill. This is just like the Fat Bunny Week and the Thanksgiving Banners from before now. They're just something playful that is no big deal. The only reason it should ever bother you is if you let it. Its everywhere. Oh well. It does nothing to you in a profound way.
Take a deep breath, cool down, and think about what -really- is wrong with the world. People are dying, and you're getting upset over a banner? The only reason I've ever felt ashamed to be on this site (which is a very rare occasion) is whenever people have gotten offended over something so small and insignificant.
We, as furries, are a minority. When we divide ourselves into fractions like this, we're just weakening the familial bond that we should feel. Dislike things, be mad, just don't get attack others over it. We're all weird, and we all enjoy things that others don't like. By assaulting others, we are being hypocritical. Pull yourselves together, my friends. Life is a battle, and there's no point making it harder for each other.

Quick Update and a Plea for Assistance (PLEASE READ!!)
Posted 14 years agoOkay, so... um... today, i take my last final exam for the semester... and, tomorrow... i graduate. with an Associates Degree.
Yay me! *happy dance*
Normally, this would mean that I would get much more time on the internet where I'm not doing work stuff.... However, there is an issue that I'm having. My home internet refuses to connect to my computer. My laptop can connect anywhere else, but not at my house.
I have tried the following to fix it:
-Resetting the connect (having to put the ID key thing back in)
-Restart laptop
-Reset modem
-DNS Flush
-Disconnecting/Reconnecting from home network
None have worked. Does anyone have any possible suggestions?? (If you do, please provide specific instructions on how to do it. Assume that I am computer illiterate and break it down into steps that an idiot could follow.)
Any assistance will not only help me, but will help you see me more often.

Posted 14 years agoFor those of you with my cell phone #, my texting bundle ran out last night and it doesn't appear i'll be able to buy a new phone card until tomorrow, especially having just bitched out my brother for being a lazy ass. So.... if you can, try not to text me. I won't know who it is, and all I'll get is a message from Verizon telling me that I have insufficient funds to send/receive messages.

Not the Hell I Though it Was (+A Rude Awakening)
Posted 14 years agoOkay, so I didn't have quite so much work to turn in as I thought... but it was still stressful because of the exams and midterms I had. But whatever.
This morning/afternoon, I woke up to several text messages from friends... the thing that has me sad and pissed off right now is that my best friend, whose birthday was yesterday, may have to have her dog euthanized because he bit the landlady and tried to jump through the screen of the front door to get at some neighbor kids. She's had this dog since he was a puppy and he's like her best friend (even more important on the best friend scale than i am) and it just really makes me feel bad.
Add to this that one of my friend's coworkers also had one of her ferrets die due to accidental hanging (don't ask 'cause i'm not sure how it happened) and that i woke up yet again with a large portion of my face covered by dried blood from a nosebleed, and my damn Spring Break is off to a shitty start....
Hope everyone else is doing fairly well... for those who aren't, you're in my thoughts and can contact me anytime you want via notes or other means, just try to make sure that you let me know it's you, if you choose AIM or something. :P Anyways... love you guys and hope you're taking care.
