Hey so FWA 2024 was pretty cool
Posted a year agoGot back home from it yesterday. It was my first furry convention, and I had a blast! I'm not gonna chronicle absolutely everything I did there, but I will list some highlights:
-Getting a physical print commission at the dealers' den
-Briefly spectating a Beyblade tournament, of all things
-Getting so distracted by some pigeons I saw that I totally missed the chalk art people had drawn until I looked at the photos later
-Playing Rock Band and Taiko no Tatsujin at the arcade
-Going to a bird furry meetup and signing the signs that were brought there
-Watching some of the Smash Bros Ultimate tournament matches
-Trading a fox plush for a bigger stuffed penguin at the trading post
-Watching an impromptu dance circle and hyping people up at the Moonlight Festival (and just generally being there and vibing for like 4 hours)
-Watching the fursuit dance competition
-Getting invited to a chill room party and making some wonderful friends there
I'm so glad I went, and I'm definitely going next year.
Some albums that I listened to on the way to the motel I was staying at, between there and the convention, and while traveling back home:
The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
UK - Danger Money
Yes - Close to the Edge
Motoi Sakuraba - Gikyokuonsou
Mastodon - Crack the Skye

Happy new year/Stuff I'm working on/General status update
Posted a year agoHappy new year! I hope 2024 is kind to you and yours.
I feel bad about not posting anything on this account for a year, but having my brain makes that unfortunately easy, lol. I have been working on a few different writing projects over the last few months, but none of them are finished yet; I'm hoping to change that relatively soon. One of them is a more serious, non-smutty thing not meant for this account, and I don't know if I'll be saying anything more about it once it's done - we'll see, I guess. As for the other ones:
-There are two Sam & Charlie stories in the works; one of them I've completely scrapped and started over from scratch at least three times at this point lol, and the other I'm hardly more than a page in. I haven't touched either of them in a while, but I want to get back to them soon.
-I'm also writing a more standalone thing that isn't a Sam & Charlie story, but it is vaguely in the same setting (in a "make cute references and otherwise ne'er the twain shall meet" sort of way). A werewolf is involved. I started working on it a month ago, and it was supposed to just be an extremely self-indulgent fluff thing to get my creative juices going again, but it's kind of grown out of control lmao. It's about two-thirds done at this point.
I don't want to promise any kind of schedule for when I post stuff to this account - a) that's a great way to give myself anxiety about it and ensure I'll never upload anything again, and b) it's all silly smut nonsense anyway; the stuff I put here isn't terribly important in the grand scheme of things and I'm not about to pretend otherwise. It'll all be done when it's done.
To the few watchers I currently have: thanks for sticking around! And to everyone who's read my silly stories - thanks for checking them out! I appreciate y'all.
Some of the music I've been listening to while writing:
Steve Reich - Music for a Large Ensemble/Music for 18 Musicians
Simeon ten Holt - Canto Ostinato (arranged by Erik Hall)
Brian Eno - Discreet Music/Thursday Afternoon
The Enid - Chaldean Crossing (2009 Revision)
