I have begun posting my songs on Youtube! Included are recordings of the project file so you can watch all the different patterns play. This is a work in progress, and while it will take MANY hours, I feel it is the best possible presentation for these old (and for me, sentimental) songs. There are also fan reuploads of Bittertooth songs on Youtube, but I do not approve of them as they recontextualize the music to take on a different meaning than what I envisioned. The first few years of running this page (2009-2013) were dedicated to maintaining this list. This list contains 176 songs of dark electronic music, largely inspired by madgamer, a citizen of Acidplanet who posted music there from 2004 to 2008. He had roughly 150 drum n bass songs that sounded charmingly amateurish compared to the streamlined and label-friendly DnB artists of the scene, and upon becoming fascinated with his unintentional satire of the genre I aspired to create a similarly large list of similarly awkward and dark drum n bass songs, and a few outliers such as house, dubstep, etc. The goal was to create the greatest quantity of songs I could muster, putting down sequences randomly, algorithmically, and adjusting patches and samples, until I deemed the tracks suitable for my unconventional DnB tastes. The end product is a dauntingly large archive of strange and fast electronic music. In the beginning I tried uploading the songs to a dozen different websites... Acidplanet was dying, Soundcloud was not big yet, Tindeck didn't have a community, Youtube did not have niche traction, Newgrounds was too youthful etc... Furaffinity was the only site where nearly all my songs received feedback, spurring me to contribute tons of music to the site during my late teens and discover a welcoming community in the furry fandom.
I would appreciate songs here not being reuploaded by fans to other platforms, as the songs were not envisioned to take on a livelihood anywhere but here. (the only exception is that I remastered vancouver and attached it to a more melodic alias since I deemed it suitable to listen to while watching a gif of a dizzy duck, on tumblr).

Tone2 Firebird was once $80 but is now free. it's a synth I've been using since I started uploading songs here, and it's really handy, lots of potential sounds with it for all kinds of genres.

Favorite AFX tracks
Posted 13 years agoOver the past week I've been going through Richard D James' discography, listening to all the albums, Analogue Bubblebaths, Analords, and even the Tuss stuff. I've got Aphex fever, there's so much stuff from him to listen to. There are a couple tracks in particular that just delight me.
Laughable Butane Bob
I love the rickety percussion. Makes it sound like you can make an infectious beat out of anything. The synths are beautiful.

Posted 16 years agoi just got all the sounds from Left 4 Dead in wav format. not the game; just the sounds (i copied the files from a school computer). i'm not making music at the moment but i'll start using some L4D samples once i start again. oh, man. this will be fun.
