Well let's see, so much has been going on since the last post I made, so bare with me and we'll get through this ^.^

*Life sux for everybody!

I have been gone due to a lot of hardships that I certainly don;t want to bore anyone with. Most of y'all already know my computer uped and died, so I am still scrambling to replace it with no money, plus I am going to be trying in the next few months to figure out an emergency move due to volatile roommate situations. So of course I have been unable to keep you guys updated and for that I am truly sorry.

*Upcoming

I have been pumping art out like crazy and have had the chance to get many personal projects done such as a new tattoo design. So there will be a large and upcoming art dump with lots to see! I will be releasing this slowly over time so to give you guys a reason to keep checking back for something new! ^.^ This will have many things, including commissions, personal projects, and even music! Yep, Katsune has her own theme song now! So expect that in the next whatever..

*Art Contest

Part of the art dump will be an art contest that I will be hosting! So for all you colorists out there, this is for you! I have some lineart that I had commissioned awhile back and when I make the dump, I will dump this too. I will of course post an official journal with the link, rules and a deadline and the best looking pic will win a free commission from me of up to 3 characters! It will just be hosted on FA since most of my activity is there, and rules and pic to download will be there! So look out for that, and come on and join in!

*Possible Involvement in Web Cartoon

So there was a posting for an artist needed to work with a start up web animation company who wanted sketches and initial art to make it all happen! It would only be sketch work which is really not bad actually, but it would be through the duration of the project however long that will be, so I maybe drawing hundreds of sketches. lol Either way it's being run as a contest in itself where they will be choosing 2 artists and the decision will be made on march 20th, so keeping my paws crossed! The submission guidelines were "examples of your work and artistic style, that convey an adorable feral fennec fox (non-anthropomorphic) that has an innocent and unsuspecting demeanor as a pretense for the crazy obsessive havocs it desires to wreak." So I will post the sketch that I submitted for y'all to see based off those guidelines!

*Last Call

There will be a last call for my cheap prices as it's time to start charging again, what the industry demands. For those of you who are not familiar, the average price for a basic sketch is about $25 and for one of my Full page, up to 2 character, colored pencil commissions which I am currently only charging $25 for is normally about $45 + $10 for second character and the prices go up from there. That's average in the industry but I like to make things affordable for everybody cuz hey! We're all broke! ^.^ So what does this mean for you? Effectively this is a last call for my cheap prices! It should run about a month after the art dump but I will post when it is officially over. Now my cheap prices effect ALL my tiers! Icons are like $5, sketches $10, Line art $15, 1 character traditional medium (i.e. colored pencil or marker) $20, 1 character CG $30, Add-a-Character +$5, Extra Complexity (i.e. detailed backgrounds, complex objects, etc..) +$10 So this is a great opportunity to get what you want cheaply!

I haven't posted any new designs or jewelry on etsy as product hasn't really been moving and I am not sure why other than the obvious, We is all broke! So what I am gonna do for now is if anyone can think of a reason they aren't selling, other than the obvious of course, or if you have a suggestion, or even an idea for a new design, then drop me a line and I will give you a discount on any item at etsy! *Sleeping With a Succubus

I am also looking into getting some new premium products designed and printed for everybody's enjoyment. They are two very cute and sexy items and samples of what I mean can be found at... http://furrydakimakura.gostorego.com/ They are ready to partner with me so that I can design and they can produce both dakamaura's and mouse pads of everybody's favorite succubus Katsune! The problem with that of course is always money. These things aren't cheap to produce and so I need to find out if there is really a market for them. Well, too much drama has happened for too long and I haven't gotten the amount of work done that I would like. So if life won't let me enter a new chapter, then I guess I need to turn the page myself!

So I am now kicking in gear and kickstarting my business open by finishing the work needed to get it going such as finishing the new "official" logo below! I have a new mobile pos system and everything. Over the next week or so I will be finishing updating all of the different art sites and galleries that you can find my commission-able artwork and I am even setting up a business Facebook page (I know, I hate Facebook but i am tired of alot of different fights, not just that one) which will serve as a web "hub" until I am more in the position to build a full website, complete with storefront!

I will be continuing to use my alter ego, "Katsune" as my mascot as she is both a bit of me inside as well as mystical and correctly themed to help sell the products I make.

As for what I will be selling, don't worry, I will always be available to commission for artwork, of just about any nature, and my terms have not changed regarding that. However, I will also be turning my attentions to my craft work. I still can make wands like I used to, but it's slower going till I get my Dremel equipment back, however I have been learning for a while how to work chainmail, and scalemail. I can make jewelry or all kinds and even some articles of clothing and other crafts from it! It may be a while before I can get uploaded some photo examples of my work, but that also means that if I get craft commissions for these things, I will not only be taking pics from those commissions to display but I will also be offering them cheaper then I usually would sell my stuff. wink wink

The main thing I hope to accomplish by these changes is to try and make this business successful and since the nation/worldwide market isn't providing sales of my product, I need to look closer to home, and unfortunately the area I am in has little desire for commissioned illustrations, but crafts have a better chance of taking off. Eitherway, anyone, anywhere will always be able to take advantage of my talent and skills.

Also, regarding my art commission queue, I am only working on two prints for  rubbervixen so if anyone is wanting sketches, inks or full pics done, my queue is clearing up, just let me know!

Well as you all imagine I had another one of those moments where "Life" caught up with me,, they just keep coming. Between love drama, sickness, bills, loss of more equipment and more. it's just been a real pain. But I am still working as hard as I can and haven;t forgotten about nay of you I still owe commissions to you, nor have I forgotten about all of my fans out there. Just to show you how much I have been working, I am gonna do a big art dump and you can see some of the stuff I have been working on.

Also I do still have a few projects to finish, mainly a few commissions for a few clients, and something I am REALLY excited about, a couple of illustrations for  rubbervixen and a story she has. I read this story and loved the concept so much and am so proud to get to illustrate this! That being said, the $25 full color commission special I ran before has been extended and I am filling slots currently for those. It's alot of work but it will be a new place everyone can come together and talk with me, hang out and check stuff out! I'll make sure to keep ou all posted on it ^.^

Well guys and gals, the time has come for me to face some real truths in my life, and to update you all of what has been going on. Just bear with me and we'll get through this.

I haven't been gone per se but busy drawing and improving my skills with sai. I had about 4 Full colored pics done and was going to do a mass upload to surprise all you guys. Then I got shafted by Toshiba.

I have had a laptop that I do my work on for under a year and the hinges on the monitor shredded the plastic inside the case from normal wear and tear, but that's not a big deal since I can fix it. (I used to build computers and fix laptops all the time) The stuff was fixed and I reassembled it and then tried to boot back up. When I did, I was greeted by Toshiba's custom boot loader which that in itself is redundant, but it then proceeded to wipe the file system to my drive and fry everything else!

Now I am stuck with a 5 pound paper weight and a drive with files that I know are on there but can't be accessed, and yes I have done it all. Remounted the drive in my roommates laptop, tried using things like recuva and other recovery, etc. and more, all to no avail. I did, just for giggles get a quote from a recovery specialist and they said it would be a a charge between 700 and 1200 dollars.. HELL NO!!! I do make backups all the time but The computer wouldn't boot when the hinges shredded,(broken circuit due to loose connection to monitor) and I had gotten a chance to backup all the new stuff..

With everything else in my life going on, this was honestly Murphy's attempt to put me in the loony bin. But I have learned some lessons in the process. In the meantime I am left with a situation that I need to get out of, mainly that I NEED to get a new computer, tho this time I am gonna do things right.

I am gonna build one, and it IS going to be powerful. I have no doubt that if not limited by speed or memory issues, the sky's the limit of what I could do. So I will be announcing in my next journal and in a pic that I will be uploading, (the only pic out of the several I had to upload that I had saved a copy to my tablet to surprise Kalixta with) a special that I will be switching exclusively to!

What this means is that I will be giving you the same high quality that you have come to expect of me in my colored pencils and that I will be dropping my prices dramatically to attempt to deal with this personal crisis. I am still debating holding auctions for some works, but I want you all to have the chance to commission me and I know we are ALL broke as hell right now. It's rare when I bring my woes out there and burden you all with them, but I think now is a good time ^///^

Well I woke up @ 6:30 am to a call with my mother in hysterics. My grandmother died this morning, but didn't just die, she was killed by the neglegence of the nursing staff of the home she lives at. Correction, lived at.. 1/13/13 for those superstitious out there.. i am grieving, but in my own way, so please forgive me if i dont seem more active than i am..
