My jeep I've had for 7 years got totaled. Everyone is okay though, and isn't that what matters? That's why I'm able to bitch about the jeep instead of being worried about people. I had insurance so luckily things are working out, but it does mean a metaphorical headache that's throwing off my groove because I gotta get into a new vehicle now and I live Oop Norf in snowland so I can't just grab any old beater sedan.

I have been working on something neato! I hope I'll be able to show you all soon!

I had a sexy teasing TF related dream where we were at this sort of circus and there was this showmaster on the side a bit away from all the normal attractions who was putting on a play. He was what you imagine when you think of like a showmaster. Big mustache, fancy colorful suit, top hat. Older fella. And he had three puppets with him. They were about life sized, one was human and two were animal people puppets. And they were obviously alive, he wasn't really controlling them with strings directly they were more like actors.

Anyway. I wanted in, badly, and the showmaster knew but he wanted me to watch the show first while I thought about it. And I was just like. God I want this. I wonder what kind of puppet I'll get to be. Or maybe something else. He also had some obviously-formerly-people foxes for doing tricks and reciting Shakespeare. I like Shakespeare, maybe I can do that.

There wasn't really a stage. The stage was a bit of ground between two bleachers. It was really classical style in that way, set up like a hasty little amphitheater more than a modern stage. It all had the vibe of like. Mummer's stuff? That sort of not-quite-professional but still classically themed way. It was a lot of fun!

I'm wondering if I should make an 18+ Discord centered around my art, writing, and worldbuilding, and tabletop gaming. It of course also leaves me wondering if I should make a patreon or something like that as well but that's something I'd probably wait for until I finish this queue. As for the Discord, I'm gauging interest a bit to see if it'd be quite worth it yet!

General stuff: A lot of stuff has been happening with me health-wise but I'm coming out on top! I'm very happy to be here and I'm doing everything I can to make healthy decisions. I've ended up on a fair amount of medications now but they're actually helping me feel a lot better so, ahah worth it I guess.

In other art stuff, I've kind of been thinking of coming out with some adoptables. These would be themed on things I already like drawing, such as little redwall beatrix potter forest critters, bandits, and maybe magical puppets. I'm not sure how well they'd fair out there in the big busy world of adopts, but I love character design and historic clothes so it seems like a natural thing to try some time.

I had to get taken to the vet for awhile, it was way more serious than I thought it'd be, but I lived. Had really crazy hypertension. Gotta watch out for that stuff, okay! My eyesight's a little blurry in spots still, but I should still be able to draw and thankfully it's not permanent! It's pretty scary when you think everything is fine, and then WHAM!

Many things happened in November! Moodiness, tears, beating my head against creative endeavors!

Well, I finished the Big Thing in my queue that I was distressing most about and I'm hoping I can get good quick with other things! Curse having to stop my groove to make sure I eat and all that stuff. When do I get to be a cool magical animal that won't feel like it's curling up and dying for three days if I miss a meal? While we're at it, can I get a new wrist that doesn't try and self destruct if I twist it slightly the wrong way? That's what I'm asking for this yuletide.

On a positive side, I'm extremely blessed (in a pagan sense) to be surrounded by and know so many wonderful people and I've really been feeling it this year. Sure, life is still a journey with ups and downs and I still have things to deal with, but it's been so wonderful sharing my art and writing, and being so inspired by my friends. I love being empowered by not just their appreciation for my art, but for their involvement in it, and their care for me too! I try to be similarly caring, myself.


On art:
I've really slipped in trying to clear my queue by... October, I think I said? And now it's December, teehee! But I'm going to finish these things, don't worry. As far as personal stuff, it's mostly been sketches, but I find them quite charming and stress-free to put together. I hope you've all been enjoying my foray into the Redwallesque, because it's not stopping anytime soon. I also hope to start to draw more fetish stuff, such as transformation, but first I'd have to conquer my reticence about it all!

I've been thinking about making a Tumblr to post on since I don't draw much porn these days. I had a Tumblr way back in the day, but never did much with it other than lurk and say silly stupid kid thoughts since I was a silly stupid kid then. I also really ought to keep up on my Pillowfort. All I want is for people to see my horrible little forest animals and enjoy them as much as I do!

On Writing:
It has been five years since I posted the first draft of Those Grey Steel Nights, a serial I wrote over the course of one year from '16 to '17. While there are many things I am dissatisfied with in that draft, I've had incredible block on subsequent drafts, and I've admittedly fallen far out of the SciFi/Cyberpunk genre sphere due to many issues. While I do want to continue rewriting Those Grey Steel Nights someday, I don't know when I'll do it.

So over the last year or so I've been trying to revitalize my writing, and I'm setting a new goal, a new serial, set in the fantasy world I've been crafting to spin off my Humblewood writing. So far the project is just called Bandits, and it's about the various Bandit folk that inhabit the setting. As lovely as Humblewood is, by spinning off my lore into my own setting I can really allow myself to do weird things with it, and explore more original themes and ideas and examine various tropes the way I want to.

And, of course, I hope to find time to write more kink stuff, since I have woefully neglected my transformation kink for ages. I have a lot of thoughts on it, having been into the kink for easily a decade, but that might be a rant for another time.

Hi!

Last week I had a horrible day. My sourdough yeast culture of two years was contaminated by a fruit gnat with fruit mold and I had to throw it out (Requiescat in pace, 'The Yeastie Boys', 2020-2022). Then that same day wind blew over my tomato plant. And I had to go refill my meds and the drive through was closed so I had to go wait inside with all the coughing people, so I wore a mask but got hella side-eye. But that was last week and I'm slowly recovering morale as I've been cultivating a new sourdough culture and it's coming along well. My tomato plant survived and I've been watching the bees buzz around the salsa I'm trying to grow on the balcony.

Then this week, I got beaten with some hella eyestrain, so I've had to take a break from the computer, which really hampered the art I promised myself I'd get done, but, hey, can't draw if you can't see. My poor little coyote eyes were not evolved for staring at screens like this multiple hours per day. This also means, of course, that I'm reconsidering the ergonomics of my desk, and the biggest one is that I just wish I could get my monitor further back somehow. (It is as far back as it'll go without being on a flat mount screwed into the wall, which I don't really know I want to do)

Anyway, you care about art things, right? I'm busy buzzing around at these commissions I still owe. I'm hoping to finish up by fall (I'm getting really close!) and then to open a fall queue, which might be around five or so slots, and I might try switching to a more general seasonal completion estimate instead of the 2-4 weeks I usually mention that I am notoriously comedically prevented from keeping. (Let's talk about the list of things that've happened to me since I started this queue at the beginning of summer; I had migraine flair-ups, I had a depressive flair-up, I got Covid, I got eye strain...)

Other than that, there's little news here from the frozen north country. I'm idly working on a few D&D5e campaign ideas off and on again. I have been doing a lot of table top and I'm very happy for all my friends I've been able to play with! It's all been very inspiring, and it's been all the funner since Max and co. have been helping me try out new systems like Lancer and Flying Circus, and Mouse Spouse and I have been experimenting with Wanderhome, all of which are delightful! It's just a good brain workout to break out of my normal thought patterns with TTRPG and I hope these experiences make me both a better player and better DM and writer!
