I've created a Patreon account!
General | Posted 10 years ago*Neighs*
In an effort to kickstart my writing, I have created a Patreon account. See:
https://www.patreon.com/blacksnip
This allows you to dangle a carrot (not that kind of carrot, put it away!) in front of my muzzle to encourage me to write without incurring the cost of a commission. A much lower cost of $5 (or more of course!) per short story or story installment. It also means I can write the stuff which is closest to my heart (and which people tell me I am good at)- steamy, 'Discovery Channel' realistic feral horse-on-horse (usually) action.
My Patreon writing will of course always be free and will be posted here and on So Furry. So, in line with the principle of Patreon, you are not paying me for my art, but providing me with encouragement. The carrot, and not the stick, so to speak!
You know the sort of stuff I write, and if knot, you can check out my submissions here on FA. If you wanna see more you know what to do!

Commissions, as at March 2015!
General | Posted 10 years agoMy current rate for writing: £25 sterling per 1000 words. Prices are subject to change in future, and will be amended here.
Hence 1000 word short story £25, 2000 words £50 and so on.
Payment is via PayPal, UK pounds sterling only in advance. To convert from other currencies, use this converter:
http://www.gocurrency.com/
If you want a story, please send me a note here with an outline of what you would like, and we can discuss. My preference is for feral on feral, m/f or m/m, and I love equine characters! You will find all my existing stories here and on SoFurry as a demonstration of my hyper-realistic style. However, it is your story, so let me know what you want!
I will not write anything involving under age characters. I do also have some other limits as well, so please don't be offended if I decline or suggest modifying your idea.
I will operate through an open for commissions/closed for commissions status, and I will not hold a long list of work to do. So if I am closed, please do not despair, I will re-open soon! Please check my status frequently.
Payment is up front, and I will send you my PayPal address when we have agreed the commission. I will not begin writing until payment is received. Once I have started writing the story, no refunds are possible, so please make sure you are happy with the scenario we agree!
When I have completed the story I will make it available to you by email for any free minor changes you require. These are minor changes- names, facts, small rewrites of no more than 100 words total. I will not agree to bigger re-writes, as I want to keep my work for you fresh!
Once I have supplied you with the finished product I will upload it to Furaffinity and SoFurry identifying you as the commissioner unless you say otherwise before I send you the final version. These sites are my shop window after all!
Any questions at all, please note me! I hope this stallion can be of service to you.

Commissions, anyone? Thinking about it...
General | Posted 11 years ago*Neighs*
Wow, been a long time since I posted a journal here!
Some of you might know that I write (as my drawing ability is what you would expect from a stallion with hooves not hands or paws). Some might also know that I have only taken extremely limited commissions (i.e. from one good friend) on a private basis.
For various reasons I won't expand on here, I am now thinking about opening for writing commissions. I have been told that my feral on feral writing is of 'Discovery channel realism'. My honest preference is to write feral horse on horse, m/f or m/m, but I would consider other species and anthro work. My preferred style is clearly demonstrated by my work on this website.
Before I go any further- is anyone interested? Please comment, note me, etc. on here so I can gauge interest.
Yours Horsily,
Blacksnip

Any suggestions for an artist?
General | Posted 13 years agoHi all. I am looking for an artist to commission for a very particular piece of art. Seems it might not be everyone's cup of tea (and I'm intrigued as to why, and I'd like your thoughts on this, if you'd care to share them).
Anyway, first off. My fursona is a black feral Thoroughbred stallion. The art I'm looking for is of my feral stallion mating a feral chestnut mare as would occur in nature. A nice field/hills background, no humans present, no anthros etc.
The chestnut mare represents my life partner, and possibly even more- a spirit guide as well, possibly.
Any suggestions? I would like a realistic coloured piece of art, by an artist who is not shy of showing the detail, and capable of showing the pleasure and love in the horses' expressions. I don't mind paying a reasonable price for quality art.
As I said earlier, is there any problem with asking for such a piece of work? Feral on feral- it's only what one can see in real life if the circumstances permit, or on the Discovery channel!
Thoughts?

Sorry it has taken such a long time to get round to writing this. Busy, busy horse!
Scotiacon Report. By Blacksnip the Thoroughbred, aged 11 and a quarter (horse) years.
Hoof on heart, I did not know what to expect of Scotiacon- after all, it was going to be a brand new con, in its first year, probably with a small number of attendees. However, this horse reasoned, it would be nice to visit Inverness again, the scenery would be fantastic, I could combine it with a visit to my dam (mum), I would be able to fursuit in comfort, the hotel would be nice, and Single Malt Whisky would be available and would flow like water. I would have fun whatever. In the event...
...my expectations were exceeded. A hundredfold!
Plus Points- Make Horse Happy!
Awesome con staff working their fuzzy tails off to make it work. Well done guys and gals- you worked really hard and it showed. You did it!
Great events. For me, particularly the Dances, Eat Scotland, Fox Amoore's Jam session, and the Fursuit Walk. Well organised, well planned and tasty (in the case of Eat Scotland. How I love Cullen Skink and Haggis!).
Awesome attendees- Everyone was so friendly, I met lots of new furries, there was no drama, and I found out how awesome a wolf looks in a Black Watch Kilt!
The hotel was really, really nice. Beautiful room, serviced every day despite horsey never being an early riser. Breakfast superb, and put the 'Brittania Big Breakfast' to utter shame! Those sausages were heaven, and the porridge (with salt, no sugar or jam- yeurgghhh!) was amazingly good. The food overall was very, very good. The hotel staff, particularly our liaison, Paul, were absolutely lovely, couldn't do enough for us and seemed to love us! Despite having Googled 'Furry' when they didn't know what to expect from us!
The location. Inverness is a lovely, lively, friendly, sometimes slightly rowdy city, and the surrounding scenery is mind-blowingly beautiful. Mountains and Lochs, dear furries, Mountains and Lochs. Mind you, I am a bit biased...
Minus Points- Make Horse Unhappy!
None. OK, new Con, a few hitches, but no more than any other FurCon I've been to. Including Confuzzled and Eurofurence.
Scotiacon staff, You Did It. After the untimely and sad demise of RBW, the UK has two awesome FurCons again. I didn't know what to expect, but I got a proper FurCon, and I was delighted with it. More than that- an awesome FurCon with Unique Sellling Points (USPs), jargon but useful! And they are:
The FurCon with a really nice hotel (please don't change hotel)
The FurCon with the scenery (please don't change location)
The FurCon that's small and friendly (OK, you can grow a bit. Double in numbers next year? Even treble, still only 150 attendees)
The FurCon with taste and Music (Eat Scotland! Fox Amoore!).
So if you weren't there this year, waiting to see how it all turned out...
... Don't be a Neighsayer next year. Don't miss it again. For it was Horsesome!
Finally, if you want a personal chat about Scotiacon, then please feel free to come and ask me. Get it straight from the horse's mouth!

Whinny! Heads up-new Blacksnip story soon!
General | Posted 17 years agoHay, Furriends! Prick up your ears, because a new Blacksnip story is imminent! It's about what happens between my stallion Blackie and a rather nice liver chestnut mare who decides to join his harem...
It just needs editing and I reckon I will be posting it Wednesday...

A new (ish) story!
General | Posted 18 years ago*Whickers*
Hi all! I've just posted a new story- it is actually one I wrote several years ago, but I've updated it (and scanned in the original paper having lost the original 3 and a half inch disk. It's somewhere, with hundreds of others...
Surprise, surprise, the story concerns what Blackie the stallion gets up to when a new mare, who just happens to be in oestrus, is turned out in his paddock! Can you guess?
There are many more where this came from, but if you read it and like it, please, please comment! I haven't posted for a while, as I haven't had any comments for my last story and got a bit discouraged, to be truthful. Please tell me what you think! Meanwhile, enjoy!
More may follow if you like it!

A Drawing! Shock Horror!
General | Posted 18 years agoI rarely draw much, but on holiday I drew this pic of a stallion spurting his juice into a mare (or another stallion if you prefer...). Whayda all think? Shall I do more? I'd be grateful for comments, and if anyone wants to improve or colour the pic I'd be delighted... as long as I get a copy...
Whinny! It's here!
General | Posted 18 years agoHi All!
I know it has been a long, long time, as this story has been a long time in the making (or is it mating?). At last, I present to you, 'Blackie and Zilla Have Fun'- a very yiffy and very detailed description of what non-anthro horses get up to when the hormones are right...
Please enjoy, and please let me know what you think...
If you don't like yiff, you won't like this...

General | Posted 18 years agoWell, Hi All! I know it's been a while since I last posted anything, but I'm working on a new story which should be up soon! It's all about what happens one nice spring morning when a certain black stallion is daydreaming about a chesnut friend only to find a different chesnut friend expressing an interest in him. Hold on to your hooves, it won't be too long...

Whinny! Part Two is here!
General | Posted 18 years agoHi All,
And hi to all my new equine (and other) friends! *Trots round and sniffs all your nostrils in turn*. I have finally uploaded the second part of Bachelor Party. Who knows what these horny horses will get up to next? Part three may follow, if feedback indicates you like it so far, or I may go onto another non-anthro horse yiff project or two I have been mulling over...
Let the Thoroughbred stallion know what you think!

General | Posted 19 years agoHi Y'all!
It's been great to get feedback on my stories so far- thanks furs! There are plenty more where they came from! It has also been good to meet so many fellow horses- we have a big herd here!
I'm kind of open to suggestions for stories- gotta be non-anthro horses, and yiffy. Oh, yes! Glad to receive these here. Firstly, I will eventually post the second part of Bachelor Party when I've done the required editing. Then, lets wait and see... More stallion/mare yiff? More stallion/stallion yiff?
Cum back and see! Watch this stable!

Hi y'all! You may have noticed that I have just uploaded another story- Bachelor Party part one. It's a graphic, yiffy tale of what stallions get up to when there are no mares around! We stallions are pretty much bisexual- in the absence of mares, when we can't make foalies, other stallions can be fun!
I would be very grateful for comments. Part two will follow...
In the meantime, if any of you artistic types would like to produce an illustration for either of my stories, please feel free. If you do, Blacksnip may come round and nibble on your neck...

Well, I've finally done it!
General | Posted 19 years agoWhickers to All,
Well, I've finally put a submission on my page. I'm not a skilled artist like so many here, but I thought I could contribute by putting up some of my writing. 'A Spring Morning' is a very graphic short story of what a non-anthro stallion and mare get up to one fine Spring morning. I think it's pretty realistic, and I'd appreciate comments or personal messages so I know what y'all think of it. More will follow if you like it...
Enjoy!

General | Posted 19 years agoWhinnies to All,
Well, it has been a while since my last journal entry, so about time for a new one! I'm still contemplating putting up some writing... I also thought I might put up some pics of my tail and ears when these are complete!
If any of you talented artistic people would like to actually draw/paint the non-anthro stallion I would be delighted- never having had an artistic rendition of Blacksnip!

General | Posted 19 years agoWhickers To All,
I'm thinking of putting up some of my writing. I'm not a talented visual artist as so many of my fellow furs are, but I think I write good stories. They involve non-anthro stallions doing what non-anthro stallions do- pretty descriptive, and I think, realistic stuff.
Whadya think?
