So...Etsy's banning most sex toys. Given I am *exhausted* and do not have the spoons (or knives, forks, sporks, or anything else) to maintain an active sales website, and given most "canned" options have heavy restrictions on adult content, I'm probably just going to be selling the silicone toys here/via paypal for the foreseeable future.

I know FA isn't a "sales" platform, but it is a gallery where I can put up pretty pictures and note if the item is for sale or not.

I may be making a "yes for sale" gallery folder? That seems like it'd be simpler than trying to remember to edit every submission's title to whether it's still available or not?

Thoughts/suggestions welcome, but ones that require me learning some entire new system are unlikely to happen, I'm not kidding about being exhausted. I was already having trouble finding the energy to take photos and make Etsy listings/to print labels and ship Etsy items on time. There's ZERO way I'm going to be up for anything that takes more of my time than that does.

I know, FA introduced them years ago. But my neurotic ass kept saying "I should put the last year or two's worth of stuff into folders at least, I'm busy now, I'll do that later" and never making any folders when I uploaded things.

Well, now I have, and I've gone back to around 2014 with my old things as well.

I'm considering what to do about my old 2-d arts that aren't up here, and with my writing, I'm almost tempted to fold everything into one big glorious MESS and just have one account? Because if I can keep stories in one set of folders... I dunno, that'd be a lot of work to move stuff over.

In any case, I'm hoping to upload here more often. I haven't been as active as I could be over the last few years? A gallery site is honestly NOT my ideal platform, I want some kind of hybrid gallery/social media thing, where it's genuinely set up for community interaction but still with organized gallery sections. Like, twitter is fine and all, but one can NEVER find anything there! But FA really isn't aimed at building sub-communities, groups, overlapping friends circles, etc. it's just you follow or you don't, you comment on art or you don't, it's not "social" social. If that makes sense.

But hey, until the ideal thing comes along, this thing will do. At least comments properly thread here.

All pre-orders, orders, purchases, etc for the Thorn dildos, Rose masturbators, Thorn eggs, Rosebud urethral toys, etc. (how did I end up here? Really? I was just going to make one dildo for me!) are in the mail.

Except the person who ordered a Monster Thorn just a few days ago. I gotta get more silicone in before I can make that bad boy. (Or girl, they're whichever, the Monster even has a leaf-vulva.)

Anyhow. You should have your tracking number, but if you bought through Etsy it might take a while, they're not always snappy about it.

There are still some pre-made toys of all sorts except the Monster, including some discounted flops, still up on my Etsy store, and since I've only got the one on the books, I'm keeping custom orders open for a while, so if there's a color scheme you want, I'll make it for you!

They're here! (And so are some flops, but I'm not as excited.) The first of the successful pours that aren't pre-orders. The bugs are pretty well worked out at this point, at least for most things, so I expect to have more eventually, but for now there's a nice pair, both in soft silicone, so they're very textured but not outright painful. One sparkly pink, one shimmery purple, both on Etsy right now.

Hey folks! I'm not new to crafting, and I believed I had done my due-diligence in researching silicone supplies. All the Thorns and eggs *are* made with body-safe platinum-cure silicone.

HOWEVER, despite the supplier's website saying otherwise, it turns out that all their silicone types require vacuum degassing, otherwise they can develop micro-bubbles.

What does this mean? Well, micro-bubbles mean the surface of the toy can be slightly porous, and soap and water will not completely clean it off. This is considered "unsafe" by a lot of toy makers, as it means the toys can harbor bacteria.

If you own one of my flop toys, what should you do? Here's your options:

1. If you are super concerned about 100% safety, you should stop using the toy entirely. I would offer refunds, but my bank account is currently at $0, I've been folding all my sales back into buying additional supplies. I am happy to offer a replacement, though, once I finish the pre-orders and have a vacuum chamber. Just drop me a note or e-mail, spark.costumes@gmail.com

2. If you worry about safety, but are okay with "probably good" precautions, simply either boil your toy or put your toy thorugh the dishwasher on a high heat setting every few uses.

2.5. You can test for micro-bubbles by using a fine powder, people use tumeric or cinnamon, as those colors show up well against many toys. :3 Take some of the powder and rub it vigorously over the surface of the toy. Then wash it off, as if you were cleaning after use. Does any of the powder color remain on seemingly flat and smooth areas? That means there are micro-bubbles.

ALL OF THE PRE-ORDER TOYS WILL NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM! That's the point of my doing pre-orders, to buy a vacuum chamber and degass the silicone, so the toys won't have bubbles, either micro or macro.

Macro bubbles are still totally safe, just an aesthetic issue, and they may need a little extra attention to clean out the crannies while washing.

Thanks for your understanding. Learning a new craft is sometimes a bit of a bumpy ride, but I do want everyone to have safe fun with these!
