Slots A through F have been determined, but no one has bid on slots G and H yet. Normally I would just extend bidding for an undisclosed amount of time, but since I don't have the time to leave these slots extended for too long before I actually start working on the YCH, I'm going to do something a little different.

I'm extending slots G and H, but I'm making slots G and H first come first served! Whoever is the first to bid on either of those slots automatically wins that slot!

Okay... I tried. I'm sorry, but colored sketches just aren't relaxing to me if they can't also be satisfactory for the artist, and the sad reality is... for me they're just not. My colored sketches just look and feel awkward, and I don't feel good posting things that I feel like I could've done better, especially when I'm being paid for doing them.

But what does this mean for the sketch special?

Screw it. I'm just going to make this a flat-color sale, but as compensation for the whole sketch thing not working out, I'm adding a $10 discount for this batch, making them about as much as a colored-sketch would've been. If it means a little more work for me, then so be it. I just want the stuff I'm giving you guys to actually look good for both parties involved.

And before any assumptions are made, no, no one told me my colored sketches suck. This is a decision I'm making out of my own will because I don't like how they look.

Btw, if you do instead want a commission higher than flat color, that's allowed, and you'll get a $10 discount for that too.

If you already got a slot and sealed the deal for a commission, congratulations, your commission is getting upgraded to a flat color and you don't have to pay a cent extra!

I'm keeping the slots as they are for now depending on how fast or slow they fill up, but I may end up turning slots 5-8 into reserves.

The previous journal offers context about why I'm doing this. I'm thinking I'll do this during times where I need to slow down a bit with the full inked pics.

Anyway, since these sketches and colored sketches are cheaper than what I usually take, and since I'm in a little bit a of a pinch due to needing to pay for a repair job, I'm taking EIGHT slots this time instead of the usual four. I am also allowing you to buy multiple slots if you wish, but the limit for that is four.

Note though, my sketches may end up looking slightly different from how they looked before, as I'm trying to re-imagine how I go about them to make them look a little better to me.

Here's the thing.

I intend to open another batch of commissions soon, say, tomorrow or at least by the end of the week. The thing is, I'm a little exhausted. I need to relax a bit, but I also need quite a bit of funds for a repair job, among other things.

So for that reason, I'm considering opening batch in which I only take sketches and maybe colored sketches. So, some relaxing sketches might do me some good after taking so many inking commissions for so long. I need to recharge. But in exchange for only doing sketches for a bit, I intend to take more slots at a time (and I might even permit multiple slots for one client, just to be more open).

The reasons I hadn't done sketch and colored sketch commissions for a while is because I needed more funds and I... well, wasn't sure if my colored sketches looked good enough anyway. Maybe I'm worrying too much, and perhaps doing more of them might help me feel more comfortable. People can still make beautiful looking stuff even while doing colored sketches, so I need to believe that to be true for myself too.
