FurEh 2022 Con Report
Posted 3 years agoThis year, FurEh celebrated their 10th year. I've had the pleasure of watching this con grow from Year 1 in West Edmonton. We broke records this year with 1,222 attendees, and we raised $13,022.25 for the Greater Edmonton Animal Rescue Society (GEARS). 300+ fursuiters were in the parade this year, and we also apparently made the day of the Afghan refugee kids this year. We're just a bunch of furries doing what furries do best, and I'm proud to have been able to call the furry community home since around 2004, despite all the issues I've been through. This year's theme of Mardi Paws was a blast, but I can't wait to watch those on stage during 2023's Broadway Tails.
It was a busy weekend. I didn't getr to do anything but eat, vend, and sleep. This includes any of the panels I wanted to go to. But I grossed as over $1000, and after expenses, the net takehome was just over $400. For once, I actually broke even and even made money.
On a bit of a sadder note:
Got a message from one of my customers that bought a fursona mug this weekend. He checked out of the hotel yesterday, and the hotel went in to clean his room. He forgot his mug in the room in a Wendy's bag, and despite the fact that these mugs aren't cheap and come wrapped in brown paper, the hotel apparently decided to throw the mug out. I feel really bad for the guy, so I'm making another to send to him at a cost of shipping.
Kind of annoyed at the hotel, but at the same time, I know they're probably not paid enough to care.
The culprit here: Capitalism.

I keep coming back
Posted 5 years agoI'm trying to keep up with my art practice lately, and I find myself coming back to my sketchbook time and time again, even if I've put it down for months at a time. I find it's been taking my mind off of things, and right now, with the state of the world, all I seem to have is time. Why not put it to use, am I right?
I uploaded a bunch of pictures from my book that I've been meaning to, including a bittersweet picture that marks the end of the chapter with my first sketchbook complete.

Going to FurEh 2019? I've got a deal for you.
Posted 7 years agoOnce again the time is approaching where I'll be ramping up for FurEh between classes and lessons. For those of you attending FurEh 2019, I'd like to offer a deal. If you let me use your fursona for display pieces on mugs that will be displayed on my table during the convention, I'll give you the custom etched piece at no cost when the con ends. I have available slots for 5 pieces.
If you'd like a custom piece of drinkware of your own, please let me know and we can discuss specifics.

End of 2017
Posted 8 years agoHey guys!
I just finished cleaning out all the old, defunct accounts from my watch list. You know: People I don't interact with, people who haven't posted in a couple of years. I went from 280 pages watched to....96. SO yeah. That happened.
I've started etching as you can see form my gallery. At the moment, I'm still a beginner, but I seem to pick it up when I have a moment or two, so that's a good thing.
School goes ok. I have people and supports in place. I've been diagnosed with Anxiety and depression, and they think I have ADHD as well, still waiting for word on that. It explains why coursework and schoolwork is so damned hard for me, but I keep at it none-the-less. I'm determined to graduate with a bachelor's degree.
Speaking of Bachelor's degree, right now I'm enrolled in Communications with a major in Journalism, but I think I might be switching to ANthropology as a major and a minor in sociology. I'm using next semester as a test semester in order to test the waters.
I'll be at FurEh 2018 in the dealer's den with my etched glass and all that, so if you're going to be there, come say hi!

New things happening!
Posted 8 years agoThere's a new furry convention starting up on August 11th and 12 in Winnipeg Manitoba in 2018. They just had their fundraiser and are starting off on their inaugural con next year. It's Star Wars themed. 2 day basic registration is $35. If I can work it into my schedule, I'm planning on sitting in the dealer's den.
I've also got a new telegram group started up for furry crafters and artists called the Furry Crafter Alliance (FCA) https://t.me/joinchat/DObgdQ7GXp-2-p23XolH-A
You should all come join it and help it grow if you make things.
