Opening Postponed: April 11, 2016
Posted 9 years agoLookit me everyone! I'm a graduate from SCAD! Well, technically I graduate in June, but basically I don't need to go to classes anymore. You think this newfound freedom would lend itself to opening in March like I promised, right? Wrong. There's two things that I didn't take into account that I feel don't lend themselves to opening this month.
1.) FWA 2016: It's the third biggest convention in the US, which means the fandom- including me- is collectively prepping for that versus trying to snag fursuit commissions from anyone, let alone me. If I had a pre-made on hand like Dencer to auction off, it would be significantly different as I could deliver him in-person to the convention (it's my home con, after all). However, because I don't expect most people to have any money or resources left over for buying a freshly-made suit along with attending FWA and having the time of their lives like they wish, it seems the stars aren't aligning.
2.) School: I underestimated the work I would have to do in these last two classes, which didn't allow the free time to dedicate to practicing on the little bits I feel I'm weak with. And the last thing I want to do is not be confident with any of the responsibilities that would entail making a suit for anyone. Holes need to be patched and I need to be better for you guys. Don't worry though; I'll have some of these "bits" to show in the next few weeks, and some of them will undoubtedly be for sale.
So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Taking these things into account, the date I wish to open is a stone cold MONDAY, APRIL 11 2016. So, if anyone out there was planning on getting to contact me so soon, know that you'll have more time to save up money at the very least. Thank you for understanding, and for anyone who's coming on down for the party happening in two weeks, have a Happy FWA!

Terms of Service
Posted 10 years agoGENERAL
A signed copy of this form and a scan of a valid photo ID proving you are 18 years or older must be mailed or e-mailed once your commission has been accepted.
I will not sell a fursuit of a copyrighted character unless the buyer holds the character's rights. However, designs inspired by existing characters or species will be considered.
The materials that I purchase, borrow, and use are housed in environments with a dog and a cat. Even with cleaning, there's a chance allergens could get on or within the fursuit. I am not responsible for an allergy attack or any other illness or injury that could occur from being restricted by a fursuit.
A commission can be declined, cancelled, or refunded at any time for any reason including but not limited to: an unworkable design, scheduling conflicts, artistic conflicts, failure to establish communication, late payments, and harassment.
All design and service decisions mutually agreed upon in writing (e-mail, instant messengers, tweets, private messages, etc.) are binding.
Work-in-progress pictures will be given out automatically as work progresses. If you would like to ask for more or inquire into the progress of the suit, contact over social media must be made. However, continuous inquiries that interrupt the work flow will not be tolerated and may result in a cancelled and fully refunded commission.
The terms of service can be altered at any time for any reason; it is your responsibility to read and be aware of the terms of service at all times.
PAYMENT
A 30% deposit is the minimum due in order to secure your slot on the list during an open commission period and is necessary to secure materials and research fabrics. Payment plans (up to a maximum of three months) for the remaining 70% are allowed with the amount of each installment and due dates determined on a case-by-case basis. Each installment has a seven-day grace period. Construction on the fursuit will only begin when it's paid in full.
If your suit isn't paid off within the allotted time or two late payments are incurred, you will be dropped and refunded any payments towards the 70% made.
If an original or abandoned artistic liberty suit is auctioned off, full payment is due within the first 48 hours of the auction's closing. No exceptions.
Payment is currently only accepted via Paypal and in USD.
SHIPPING
Shipping anywhere in the world is available. The price of shipping and insurance is not included in the price of the costume and is your responsibility. If you are an international customer, please check with your local laws and postal units before agreeing to a commission! Shipping is done by USPS and will include a tracking number.
DESIGN
A G-rated, two-view (minimum) reference sheet is needed for any pre-designed character. If you're not artistically inclined, you can purchase one from me or another artist. No reference is necessary upfront for an artistic liberty suit as I will design it along with you. Please note some markings, colors, and body types may be impossible to replicate accurately; proper solutions will be discussed.
Large design changes (colors, significant markings, species, etc.) can only be requested during the initial design stage. Once this is done and foaming of the head begins, smaller design changes (eye color, whiskers, hair, etc.) can be made up until the foaming has been completed. Afterwards the design is locked in. Please voice any concerns beforehand!
If your dropped or refunded commission was an artistic liberty design, I will maintain the rights to any and all of the character's image(s) I created. These rights and image(s) only revert to you upon acceptance of the finished costume.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Upon completion of payment, you are responsible for sending me measurements from which to craft your costume. They are as follows for each major part. If you have any questions, contact me!
HEAD: The circumference of your entire head. Please also indicate if you want extra room for glasses.
ARMS: The length of your arm from shoulder to wrist, and the circumferences of your wrist, elbow, and shoulder.
HANDS: A hand *and* wrist trace. For five fingers, spread each digit as far apart as possible. For four finger, double up the pair of digits that is most comfortable for you.
FEET: Your American shoe size.
BODY (NO PADDING): For this, only measurements are needed. Refer to the body measurements of Matrices' bodysuit tutorial on Tumblr in order to assess which measurements to take. If you're unsure about being able to do this yourself, take the measurements to a professional tailor, dry cleaner's, or bridal shop!
BODY (PADDING): A proper duct tape dummy (with the feet and neck also taped) is required! There are many tutorials out there about how to make one but the point is the same: Use at least three layers of tape and make sure every crevice of the body is properly accounted for, especially under the arms! Make sure the arms are straight out like a T as well!
DEADLINES
Strict deadlines are not offered up front in the desire to avoid rushed work. However, an estimated time of completion is around 1-4 months from the start of production on your costume. If the suit is near completion and certain to get done within a month of an event, an exception can be made. Just ask first!
WARRANTY
Buyers are guaranteed a year-long warranty on their suit upon arrival in order to correct any fixable errors resulting from the building process (bad fit on a proper DTD or measurements, holes in the fabric, loose or open seams, etc.) and to schedule sessions to address wear and tear for free. Shipping is also free. After the warranty expires, you will be subject to an hourly service fee based upon the nature of any repairs needed as well as maintain responsibility for shipping. Please make sure your suit is clean and free of odor before shipping or else a cleaning fee will be instated.
Commissioners are authorized to do small-scale repairs on their own such as fixing seams, gluing down missed or torn areas, and tailoring; however, any large-scale, unauthorized alterations to a suit's look and/or function will immediately void the warranty. Alterations made for adult purposes will void both the warranty and all repair services. Ask about any alterations first!
If you drop or cancel the commission, refunds cannot be given on the 30% deposit nor when a pre-designed suit has been completed due to the difficulty of reselling an existing character. If you wish to have a refund before completion, the amount will vary depending upon how much work has been done up until that point. This will be calculated to you upon request. Refunds may also not be given immediately if costs need to be recouped. Ultimately, I maintain the right to decline a refund upon request. If the commission is cancelled on the artist's side, you will be entitled to a full refund. The full refund may not be given immediately if costs need to be recouped.
