Good times had by all
Posted 18 years ago Bit of backstory explaining - My parents have a camper at Campground out in BFE Indiana and I had invited my two bestest friends, Reidon and his wife, out to day trip it Sunday to visit the campground and cookout and enjoy the band they had playing at the campground. ---
So I call 'em up friday to see if it's all still on or what's up and she tells me that a friend of her husband's been invited to come too. ( ... I'm just finishing up a divorce and this just sounds blind date-ish, which I'm not totally opposed to) But she says no, that the guy is alot of fun to have around and if any sparks happen, they happen. This is the attitude I have also so... meh, bring it on.
So we end up having a great time! They have a poker run - which is everyone in golf carts go to 5 designated stations and pick a card and try to make the best poker hand. I took Reidon and his friend careening through the camp and just had a blast! We had the cookout and then the four of us played eucher while the rest of my family sat around us and we all chatted. And the band started playing and we were close enough we didn't even have to stop playing cards to enjoy the music. -awsome! But it was late and time to go home but I was having such a good time with my friends I didn't want to go home even knowing I had to work 7am to 7pm Monday. And we stayed up all night playing karaoke revolution and playing the PoTC version of Life. Good times!!

Do you have the time...
Posted 18 years ago I have this friend, we'll call him Eeyore. He is a friend/reluctant big brother/creepy/touchy-feely type guy. I say reluctant because I guess he's sweet on me but I was with someone and he had a long-distance relationship going. To me he'll always be a friend and nothing more. I have no romantic feelings about him at all.
But since I just ended the relationship I was in forever and he's broken up with his girlfriend I guess in his mind we'd could be together..... Not even!!
The first few lyrics of Basketcase by Greenday I swear fit him to a T. Let me refresh your memory...
Do you have the time to listen to me whine?
About nothin' and everything all at once?
I am one of those, melodramatic fools.
Nuerotic to the bone, no doubt about it.
Last evening I was enjoying my dinner out on the front porch watching the storms and just thinking about my life and what needs to be done. I get this text from Eeyore - "Can you feel the power of the storm? I love this weather!" I reply back "Me too... I'm sitting outside eating my dinner". Which most people would take as 'she's busy, I'll talk later'. Not Eeyore. I get another text "I am at work but went outside for my break". I reply back "smart" thinking to keep it minimal since he's working.
Nope. "What's the weather now?" I reply back "It's a slow gentle rain". At this point I realize he doesn't care that he's at work and therefore should be working. He responds "Sounds calming". "I reply back that it "Sure is helping". He sends back "Rough day?" And I respond "Rough month"
By this time I am getting rather annoyed since I came outside to relax not type little phrases on my damn phone!
Then his typical-I-swear-he's-got-this-phrase-saved-as-a-template-he-uses-it-so-often "Anything I can do to help?"
GAH!!! Leave me the hell alone!! That's what you can do to help!
But I reply back "Thanks but I'm dealing with it ". A few minutes later "Wanna do breakfast tomorrow?" (which we do sometimes since he is a friend and all) I tell him I "Can't. Have a staff meeting in the morning. sorry." He replys "NP. If you need me you know where to find me." I type back "yep" and let it go at that thinking the conversation is done (finally!) I set the phone down and start watching and listening to rain again
.....so relaxing.
So after an hour or so I head back inside to get ready for bed and my phone makes that sound again... of a text message...
"Sorry if I am part of the bad month"
O M F G!!! Jeeezzee!! What is with this guy?
Tell me that does not sound like a desperate attempt to restart a conversation? Or a desperate cry for attention? Any attention?
Should I say that yes, you are a small part of the bad times this last month simply cause you won't leave me alone? I can tell the difference between a friend that truly feels bad for you and hugs you and wants to help you and a friend that wants you to cry just so they can *hug* you and have an excuse to touch you. eewww.
OK I think I am done with my rant. I feel better.
And the next line of the song, in Eeyore's case, should be --
Do you have the time to listen to me whine?
About nothin' and everything all at once?
I am one of those, melodramatic fools.
Nuerotic to the bone, no doubt about it.
Sometimes I give my friends the creeps.

Posted 18 years ago So the drama in my life right now is my 14 yr old niece Chelsea. Friday after school she never showed up at home. Not until 2 in the afternoon on Sunday did she call her parents. She was grounded but her friend was having a sleepover Friday night and Chels just up and decided she was gonna go anyway.
She's also been avoiding the activity bus when she stays after school by having her friend's parents drop her off at home. This would be peachy except that she was not to be staying after school at all due to her grades. (2 F's this report card).
And she finally told us why she's avoiding the actity bus.
Because of an unwanted sexual encounter with a boy on the activity bus. But I can't help thinking that if she had just rode her regular bus home that encounter wouldn't have happened. Well, at least maybe not so soon.
She's been big time rebelling lately and I realize this is just a facet of why but hopefully we can work with her about her needs for freedom and her need to make her own decisions but make her understand that she needs to keep herself safe above all else.
Thanks for lettin me unload peoples. I spent the weekend with my good friends and their new baby so at least I had a good support team to help me deal with it.
I sure would take any advice if anyone here has some to offer...

Hello!
Posted 18 years ago I thought that an intro was maybe in order so... uhhmmm.. Hi! My good friend Reidon (check out his stories - they rave!) turned me onto this site. I have browsing and enjoying so many unbelievably talented artists and writers! I plan on posting some of my stuff eventually (as in when I get my scanner set up) although the sketches I do are nowhere near the level of what I'm seeing here, they're mostly just for fun. Oh well, the more drawings I do the better they'll get right?
Bye for now...
