Posted 10 years agoSo for the past 11 weeks I've been on clinics...which means I was doing actual veterinary doctor-y things rather than sitting on my bum in the classroom. It's been a blast, but I'm ready for a break which will come shortly. Then I'll head to GenCon, then back to Colorado to see all my loved ones and go to RMFC. Should be a good time, can't wait to see all my Colorado peeps.
Might do a photoshoot in the mountains at the cabin with Vayr because she is neglected and needs to be out and about. We shall see.

Good news is I finally got Photoshop installed and my tablet working on my desktop computer. Perhaps there will be art soon.

I'd love to go to AC, but I don't think any of my buddies will be going and I'm too awkward to go alone.
In other news, this next month of school might kill me. At the end of April, I have 8 exams over the span of 14 days...5 of those are going to be cumulative finals. WHY. I love vet school, but sometimes it does not love me back. Although, if I survive that, I'll be 25% a vet...woah sweet.
Anywho, not much else going on.

1. Was 2013 a good year for you? Why?
Yeah it was a great year. Went to Disney World and had two vet school interviews at the beginning of the year and got into both schools. Then I started vet school in the summer and it's pretty much consumed my life since. Oh, going to visit Dominowuff and Syber in October was hella cool too.
2. What was your favorite moment of the year?
Disney World was pretty awesome, but I suppose I should say when I got accepted into vet school. Or suiting as Beau with Syber
3. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Leaving Colorado to live all by myself and be away from the places and people I love.

Vet school stress and plus the stress of living alone for the first time in my life caused my depression to rear its ugly head again. Haven't really had problems with it in about 8 years, so it was a big set back. Doing -okay- now.

I won't try to control you with money.
34. Did you treat somebody badly in 2013?
After 24 years of putting up with my family's manipulative bullshit, I finally went off on both my mother and father. I still feel bad about some of the things that I said, but I was at a breaking point.

Yeah, but that's part of life. I just make a point to not stoop to their level 99% of the time.
36. How much money did you spend in 2013?
A lot. Moving is expensive. So is school.

New Home
Posted 12 years agoSettling into my new house in Mississippi and started orientation for vet school today. I like it down here so far, although right now it is almost unbearably hot. The people are nice and the food is delicious.
I'd love to meet some of the local furs here before my school schedule gets too crazy. I'll have to figure out how to do that.

Going to Mississippi
Posted 12 years agoI've made my decision, and in June I'll be moving to Mississippi so I can go to Mississippi State's College of Veterinary Medicine. I just bought a house (mobile home) and now I have to get the rest of my shit together.
Unfortunately I won't make it to any cons this year since none of them will fit into my schedule. I am going to try and make it to FWA next spring since I could drive to it, but other than that vet school takes priority.
Other than that, not much to report. Hope y'all are all doing well.

Posted 12 years agoSo leaving early tomorrow morning for Mississippi (back to the town I was born in, actually) to interview at the vet school there.
Got a letter a few days from Kansas State saying that I got into their vet school.
Still waiting to hear from Georgia and Wisconsin. They said they'd let me know by March.
Basically, I dunno where I'll be living in the fall, I just know that it won't be in Colorado....lamesauce.
