Journal of Journalistic Journey Journals
General | Posted 11 years agoRight, I'll condense some of the less important news in the next paragraph. It helps to pretend that the narrator is going through it at 800% speed.
8k pageviews get, 100th submission unknowingly achieved, it's freezing all of a sudden, Memory Hunt submission surpasses 2k views, Blue Skies Infinity Remix is really good, still stuck on art ideas, last week can go fuck itself, fall break is coming up, Area 88 is back, forgot I had SecondLife account, and I considered streaming again but scratched it upon further review.
Now that's out of the way, here's the real bit of news. Except the paragraph above contained the only bits of news I had. Therefore I no longer have anything to write down here.
So how about that weather?

Assumption thing and Freedom Planet
General | Posted 11 years agoI was going to post a journal anyway, so I thought I'd also throw in the assumption thing that's been going around. Subject me to the most libelous accusation and I will be honest about it. I mean, people wouldn't lie on the internet, right?
Secondly, Freedom Planet got released on Steam this week. I've beat this game with both characters (Lilac on normal, Carol on hard- but difficulty is meaningless in this game as it only affects damage taken) and I have to say that while the game is fun, mechanics solid, music awesome, and boss fights intense, the difficulty abruptly spikes beyond the heavens at the last stage; going from "Alright, so I made a mistake here and there. I got this" to "This game is trying to rip my goddamn balls off and beat me to death with it." That does not mean it's impossible to beat, but I feel like everything that made previous bosses interesting were thrown out just for the sake of making the final boss difficult. If that can be balanced in the future, then I will have no complaints.
That aside, the effort is clearly there and it's a good game. It really is. It's a shame that its Sonic vibe puts off a lot of people (And it has) and there's not much that can be done about it. But hell, Freedom Planet does a better job at platforming than Sega could have done in years, and combines a lot of elements found in various titles (Rocket Knight's air dash, Megaman X's wall jump, and such) really well. If you can look past the stigma then I highly recommend giving it at least a try. There's also a demo on GalaxyTrail's website that lets you play the first stage, but I feel like second stage would have been a better choice for it, given how much better its boss fight is compared to the first stage's.
But yeah, there's that. Assume away, or just carry on with your day, whichever floats your boat. I still haven't had much luck art-wise.

I'm still here, just kind of extremely distracted
General | Posted 11 years agoSkyrim has consumed my past two weeks, but the drive's finally going away. I think the prospect of having to manage 50 different mods (I know it's a rookie number, shut up) scared it away.
The tablet's coming back tomorrow, so I'll see if I can get something done now assuming that it works as expected. I won't be a happy man if this thing breaks down again in a month, since the warranty will expire by then.
I've also slowly picked up Saber Dust script again, trying to expand on Prince Satoa's side of the story. I do have some sketches of him, but I haven't been happy with any of them so far.
Apologies for lack of replies.

Steam Summer Sale 2014. There are no survivors.
General | Posted 11 years agoThe drawing tablet kicked the bucket sometime over the weekend, most likely a dead USB port. Fortunately, it managed to die before the warranty period ended for once, so I'll be able to have it sent for repairs but it'll be at least two-three weeks until I get it back. So I'm afraid it'll be sticks and stones on art until then.
The fact that Intuos 3, which still works in perfect condition despite being five years old and dropped at least twice, managed to outlast my now dead Intuos 5 by three times its lifetime does shake my confidence a lot in Wacom.
And just when I finally got time to get some real work done. My sister refuses to relinquish the Intuos 3, so I can't really use that.
I finally got a chance to play Ace Combat Infinity. Gameplay is fun. Pricing is not. Free model heavily impedes player progress. I know Project ACES hasn't been doing so hot lately, but I can't really support this model until I see what the future content offers.

Wait, Today's What Day?
General | Posted 11 years agoSo here I am, paying some bills, doing Father's Day things, playing FTL until I check today's date way late into the afternoon.
Turns out today's also my birthday.
And here's how I plan to commemorate another year well spent. Except replace 24-year old part with 22 and cake with a baked potato.

So, about that laptop I bought...
General | Posted 11 years ago...I returned it today. I couldn't stand the screen quality and the specs weren't that much of an improvement over my old laptop.
At least the room has been fully renovated two weeks ago, and the new desk came in on Friday. I'll finally be able to set up my desktop PC once the room gets cleaned out of miscellaneous junk, and then continue browsing internet with it and neglect to take advantage of its specs.
On the bright side, my $100 fake money turned into $10,000 fake money in a single match in Salty Bet few nights ago. I have no idea who the two characters were, but that upset was completely bonkers. And I watched Dark Donald completely wreck some poor schmuck.

New laptop in, and other news
General | Posted 11 years agoThe new laptop came in on Friday. I've spent the weekend setting it up and giving it some test run and I'm content with the results so far. It's not a mind-blowing improvement, but it's enough to get work done faster. Only things that bugs me is the heat fan making the right side of the keyboard quite toasty, even on idle... and the battery life is shorter than my 5-year-old predecessor with $20 battery replacement. I'm not at all bothered by Windows 8.1 OS, but it's so stupid that its short boot time is completely defeated by the login time. So close, yet so far.
On other news, I've set up an SFW alternative account
Dantofu on FA. I will be posting all further non R-18 and fetish works to this account. If you fancy some shit blowing up, military mashup machines, and adventurous story without sex appeal then please consider paying it a visit sometime. No changes will be made to Inkbunny and Weasyl accounts.
Lastly, Ace Combat Infinity will be out for PS3 in US on May 28, and I have no PS3. This pains me greatly because the game so far looks awesome, barring the limitations inherent in the F2P model in form of limited playtime. At least there's no limit on how many times I can listen to Invincible Fleet, Stonehenge, and Comona remixes.

Finally placed order for a new laptop
General | Posted 11 years agoAlright, after spending few days intensely mulling over two laptop choices I finally went ahead and placed the order. Hopefully I can go pick it up next weekend when I just happen to need to head down to the state over to pick up some of the belongings.
$600 laptop is by no means a miracle solution to all of my woes, but at least I won't have to watch a slideshow every time I open up Photoshop. I also purchased a small sketchbook to try getting back into traditional work, which was long overdue.
The new room I'm staying in is still currently being renovated, with most of the floor still bare-boned and carpetless. They say that they'll get it done this weekend but promises are meant to be broken. The bedding area and A/C are at least done, but it's annoying paying to live in what is essentially a storage shed.

A wild HDD failure appeared!
General | Posted 11 years agoBlue Cactus used backup!
It's super effective!
I was hoping that my laptop HDD would at least last through the final, but it looks like the thing's just about had it. Fortunately, I had plenty of warning and already backed up everything elsewhere, so nothing much will be lost besides my time.
But still, I was very impressed that this laptop managed to last over five years without a single hardware failure until this point. But hey, at least I now have an excuse to get an upgrade!

One hour and half to drive 40 miles
General | Posted 11 years agoI want to draw hot chicks and naughty things but I gotta feed these papers words like I'm single-handedly shoveling coal into an intergalactic spaceship as it speeds away from a supernova deadline. Not to mention other things but I'm confident that we're all familiar with our daily woes of reality.
A weekly monthly daily bianally hourly weekly reminder that I am in fact very much not alive and in fact a zombified typing machine. Peace out, tasty brains.

Definitely not a journal about Goat Simulator
General | Posted 11 years agoSo uh, my activity has been a little dry due to obvious factors that you are all too familiar with. Buuut, I have also been busy working on a major script- lores, setting, technology, characters, pretty much everything that makes a story. I actually have several scripts that I never got around to sharing but I'm hoping that this one makes it through soon.
In all honesty however, I really should get around to finishing the pictures I left hanging in unfinished form of varying capacity, some which I may as well call finished but doubtful about final touches. But damn me if the piece still has much work to be done while I want to do something new.
In other news, tomorrow is the annual Trust-Absolutely-No-One-Day.

Nostalgia and FWA
General | Posted 12 years agoI never thought I'd see the day, but PCSX2 has come a very long way, and its recent updates have finally allowed me to relive my angsty teenage life playing Ace Combat series. I already beat Ace Combat Zero and almost halfway through Ace Combat 5. The feels are coming in like a tsunami, though. I forgot how painful it is to watch some scenes.
On second note, Furry Weekend Atlanta is coming up next week, and I've thought about attending it, since all it takes is two MARTA stops for me to get there from where I currently live. I'm looking at the schedule right now and debating whether I want to pay to attend one day or all of them.
Oh, and the weather needs to make up its damn mind already.

So I've been playing a lot of Deus Ex HR
General | Posted 12 years agoCivilian Punching Simulator would have been a more appropriate title.
It really annoys me that the Director's Cut edition is more of a trade-off rather than an upgrade to the original. But hey, at least the extra rechargeable battery means double the punching speed!
No Survivors run is going great.

Oops, I forgot how to draw.

General | Posted 12 years agoI had a dream last night that I was coming up with a wonderful artwork. I remember getting super hyped over it, and thinking how great this would be once I finished with it.
Then I found myself halfway off of the bed, feeling like I've been hit by a million zubats. I have zero memory of what I was drawing and someone was playing funny music outside.
I was like fuck it, it's Friday, I only got one class, I'm going to doodle. Then I remembered that I forgot to bring my tablet pen while moving to a new place.
Oh well. I felt like crying a little anyway. And then drink some milk.

No place like home, yes?
General | Posted 12 years agoI got back from a weeklong family trip to Los Angeles and Las Vegas last night. I myself haven't been on a plane for over ten years so it was quite an experience, watching Pacific Rim (Which was a goddamn glorious movie) while riding severe turbulence and watching city lights from 10k feet in the air. I blew $10 on slot machine and spent the rest of the week playing the only Time Crisis 3 machine in the city. I thought I'd never live to play it again, and the machine was in superb condition. I was never one for gambling anyway.
Strangely Time Crisis 3 is the only thing I remember from that trip. I have vague memories of fountain show, overly exquisite interiors and the ungodly slowest hi-speed hotel wi-fi ever to grace mankind. Oh well, I'm a happy man nonetheless.
I was going to say that whatever fragments of productivity I had left has been utterly destroyed by my decision to purchase Starbound, but sadly its beta stage clearly shows. I didn't really get into it like I had with Terraria, and I'll probably wait it out until it gets more fleshed out release. The music is very nice, though.
Oh, and I guess it's new year thing soon. I can't wait to purge 2013 from my memories.

Cough cough
General | Posted 12 years agoBeing mildly sick for a week is kind of not fun. It's not enough to keep me in bed but it sure heck is annoying.
So, know those moments when you get these ideas in your head that you want to put down on paper but can't decide which one to start working on? Because I totally have none of that happening right now thanks to Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed. I've gotten a computer with decent gaming power only few months ago and I'm still blown away by how gorgeous games are actually supposed to look. Everything's so beautiful.
But uh, I got those ideas I mentioned. Maybe I'll get the ball rolling soon. In the meanwhile, Dust: An Elysian Tail soundtrack by HyperDuck SoundWorks is very pretty. Much quality. Many tracks. Wow.

I'm still here. Months of things happened.
General | Posted 12 years agoHey people. I'm just coming in to let you know that I'm still around, but have been rather inactive all around the net as of late. I've been debating on what sort of information I wanted to put out here for a couple of days, but here's the summary:
Life issue's largely taken over my time for the past several months. Things haven't been going the way I've been hoped and I'm afraid I got caught up in a perpetual self-denial that I just need to keep trucking on. I have virtually never discussed this online but be assured that I've been actively seeking help and resources off the net. The previous month particularly sucked in terms of mood and motivation but I'm feeling better now.
I've also been put on some small medications to help me deal with this. But I literally had no drive to work on my drawings, which is by any stretch of imagination a bummer. So many times I held a drawing tablet and SAI in front of me only to stare at the canvas until I gave up and drowned my sorrows in Terraria and beat the hallowed crap out of hardmode bosses. Speaking of Terraria, PC update in a month. Hyped.
Also, I have discovered the joys of surprise allergic reaction. It might be leaning towards tapioca (The black gummies in bubble tea) under my friend's indication, but I've yet to get it checked out for certain. They gave me some shots (Nostalgic buttocks shot) and more medications, but I'll have to go back to the clinic since the symptoms have not yet subsided. But really, this is annoying.
I also finally saw Wreck-It Ralph. It was really good.

The importance of reaction time
General | Posted 13 years ago0.00 second : Fiddling a bit on Paint Tool SAI.
1.00 second : Need to open another file and continue working while the image loads

Where's the "Mutually Assured Deletion" button?
General | Posted 13 years agoThere's an option to individually nuke each category, but nothing on nuking everything Civilization Ghandi-style. It's that or I'm blind. I'm kind of leaning towards the latter.
I've gotten Plants vs Zombies for iPhone (Woo, free app week!). This may be my least brightest decision yet. Reports indicate that my productivity has fallen 412%, but I must uphold my duties in keeping my house safe from those dirty zombruaghuudfgfdjklnhfagfgjfghghhghdhg

Looking for three female characters. [Full, sorry!]
General | Posted 13 years agoAlright, here's the drill. If you've seen my female artworks then you have a good idea for my general preferences. I'm sketching (<-- Key word) a adult-themed slave coffle artwork and I need some extra characters besides Adele, and I really don't want to spend ages coming up with other characters. So yeah, first three to reply with a workable reference (As long as front view is present), they'll be in for free. I get to think less and draw bondage and you get to see me draw your characters. Flawless plan, agreed?
Season's greetings from Miami, FL
General | Posted 13 years agoWill be heading home tomorrow after 9-something-hour trip.
I couldn't really work on anything due to mixed factors of multiple-family trip, lousy connections and long travels in small spaces (Had to hold luggage all over passenger seats since the cars were beyond full). I did bring a sketchbook and was hoping to get something in there, but that obviously did not happen.
Can't wait to pick up my tablet again and start working on some bondage pics, though I'm not really set on what I want to do first. So uh, what do you want to see more of?

Goodness, is it that time of the year already?
General | Posted 13 years agoSeason's greetings! Before I go on any mediocre ramblings, I'd like to inform anyone interested that commission is back up. Only accepting sketches for now (Edit: Actually, you can still ask me about colors), since I still have final exams to wrap up (Went through the worst of the bulk on Monday. Eugh.) but hopefully things will go well for the remainder of the year.

I almost died when I tried the guacamole I made myself.
General | Posted 13 years agoI totally forgot that Under Defeat HD was being released pretty much a month from now... which exactly isn't how I remember, unless it got pushed back multiple times. I just hope Rising Star Games release an X460 version over in the states, but I guess I'm perfectly content with PS3 release. Couldn't check on details since RSG website was down while typing this.
In brief, Under Defeat was a vertical shoot-em-up released for arcades in 2005 and ported to Dreamcast in 2006. It involves a steampunk WWII theme while piloting high-visible pink helicopter (For Player 1 at least) and blowing a lot of stuff up. If it wasn't obvious enough already, I absolutely love military mashup machines (Even more than porn) and I used to draw a metric crapton of them back in high school (Few of you have seen them already).
Speaking of enormous cannon robot tanks missile things on rails, I guess I should draw something for Halloween since everyone's doing it. I may have an idea already.
