I failed to realize the milk was frozen.

For some reason this news got me way more excited than tomorrow's Minecraft Adventure update... mainly because I'm all too familiar with the pattern of first release breaking everything and having to wait until 3-5 subsequent bugfix updates, followed by another half-a-week waiting for servers and mods to update.
But I digress. Shut up and take my money, Rising Star Games! All $65 + S&H! ...Unless S&H exceeds $10, which then there may be problems.
And due to college and first-week meetups from various organizations and stuff, I haven't been drawing for a bit. Not that my progress has been any better beforehand, though!
...Ah haha... OTL
But no. There are plans to be fulfilled. Big plans. But not too big, given how that went for Palpatine.

General | Posted 14 years agoYou so scary when it comes to horror stories. Seriously, it works better than a truckload of Monster drinks. Anyone who's been browsing reddit or some sort this afternoon should know what I'm talking about.
I don't remember the last time I was legitimately scared.

General | Posted 14 years agoSo, I finally moved back into college this afternoon. It's been a rather busy day mowing the lawn in the morning, finish packing my stuff, move in my stuff, arrange furniture with my new roommate, eat dinner, get me some nap, and develop my war plans for the semester.
Which then I realized I have gravely underestimated how much I hate my current schedule. The classes are spaced out so much that it takes pretty much entire day to get through them all from early noon until evening. I'd much prefer to get through all (Or most) of my classes during morning and leave the afternoon worrying about other things and procrastinate together with my friends. Unfortunately few of the classes I have no choice in schedule while others I have to fight furiously for open seats. But damn it I will get those seats.
Dining hall food still sucks, too. But that's to be expected. Gonna have to ditch the meal plan in favor of cheaper (And if all goes planned, a much more flexible) one. The bill's getting ridiculous as it is.
Speaking of bill, I cut down the commission prices a bit. I'd love it if you can help me shave the bill further!
I'll also try to start livestreaming more often, probably during the weekends. Either art full of poor decision-making or video game full of poor reaction timing (And unintelligible rambling of disappointment).

General | Posted 14 years agoFirst things first, I uploaded a high-res version of some of my non-commissioned artworks on e621. I'm talking about +2000 px image resolutions here. Well, only two of them. All of them are +18 though.
Rather slow day today. I accidentally blew up my college folk's Minecraft server world when I built a TNT pyramid that was ignited by a lightning strike. It managed to kill everyone on the server before promptly crashing, requiring a reload from older saves. Needless to say, I lost my TNT privileges. But everyone had a good laugh.
But yeah, I'll answer anything you throw at me right now. ...At least make an effort to, that is.

General | Posted 14 years agoI pour hours into a particular artwork only to trash it completely. Five times.
My friends and I agreed that competing over who can reach 1000 first by adding 1 repeatedly with a calculator was more exciting than watching my Livestream sessions.
I got an e-mail with a single sentence saying that my Econ course is cancelled for the entire semester. It didn't even pretend to apologize for any inconveniences.
I spent days grinding in certain RPG and still got my ass ripped to shreds.
May as well practice figures and shading until I get the ball rolling again.
Oh, and I guess I should say colored commission prices are up.

General | Posted 14 years agoIt's in the profile description on the user page. I'm going with four slots right now and up to lineart commission since I have no idea what kind of majestic disasters may happen in the course. Once things settle down I'll open up color commissions.

General | Posted 15 years agoSemester started again, and quite frankly I hate all of my classes. One's math, other two I learn better from reading text than monotonous lectures filled with Powerpoints, last one doesn't know what it wants in assignments, no matter how many times people asked for clarifications (And subsequently lose points in). There are others but I can mildly tolerate them. Me no want talk about college. Brain turn mush.
So yeah, I stopped playing Diablo after reaching Hell difficulty. I finally wised up and went back to bullet hell games after realizing that I will never be able to bash that physical-immune multi-shot aura-enchanted quill rat's skull in. Plus I finally caved into that accursed "Now what?"-moment-after-acquiring-one-of-the-most-godly-items-in-the-game sentiment. This is probably the sole cause of ending any of my RPG adventures full-stop. Drives me insane to be honest.
I want to draw planes and exciting stuff again. I used to draw a ton of those stuff back in high school... maybe I should upload a couple. I don't know what I'm talking about anymore!

General | Posted 15 years agoOh my, the spam on the front page. Okay. I can still reach those message tabs... I guess I'll go on with my business or something like that. Check out my new hat and beard though. Funky!
Long time no complaining- er, posting. Not too hard to guess what's eating up my time from the journal title. Such a fun little game back in the past, but I can hardly believe it took me over six years to finally complete the game (On Normal difficulty), going on and off because I ignored proper character buildup and couldn't kill Diablo without funneling obscene amount of potions and dying repeatedly and got sick of it. But no more, for Diablo and Baal have been slain by Colonel Compensator, a Barbarian wielding two big swords and hits hard!
...So yeah. All my Diablo characters are named with some sort of puns.
I haven't been posting much thanks to major pain-in-the-root English comic book project with insane deadlines. I basically had to throw out all basic concepts of art just to complete all 20 pages in one week. Ironically, I had two weeks to work on a thumbnail. Fortunately the course was based on quantity over quality. Unfortunately, I am never looking at those pages again. It's all a bad memory now.
But now that's over with, that means I can start working on stuff again! Except I'm being dragged off to Disneyland for who knows how many times now, leaving tomorrow, on Christmas. I always hated going there over the break, with extreme crowd, obscenely overpriced food, and exceptionally rude people. I would opt not to go, but apparently my family already bought tickets for me. Well, I may as well take my laptop and work on my idea scripts or something, and work on drawings based off from that once I get back in five days or so.
I'm also thinking (For xxth time) of starting up commissions. Just basic pen sketches though, since college is going to kill me again in second semester, plus the sketches don't take as long as colored ones do. So uh, How's $4 sound for a start?
Well, happy holidays. I gotta start watching more people...

Capitalism, ho!
General | Posted 15 years agoSo my friend gifted me a copy of Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale last week and I've been all over my ass playing it. It involves you running an item shop with you in control of what to sell, when to sell, and how much to sell to your fellow customers and adventurers. You can also hire an adventurer to explore a dungeon with you for even more items! The main goal of the story is to get enough profit to pay off your missing father's humongous debt, but the story lasts much further than the debt payment.
There's a demo out on Steam which gives you the first week of the game, which is surprisingly long for a demo.
There's just something about it that makes me want to keep doing the same thing over and over. Maybe selling powerful armor and weapons to adventurers at cheap price so they can survive and give me room for more items to carry back. Maybe it's unfortunately-pieced dialogue that makes no sense when selling items in shop ("Women have come in great numbers, looking for clothes!"). Maybe it's because the characters are so damn... ahem, cute.
So yeah, the game's been keeping me busy. That and fighting a horde of ninjas using nothing but a spoon. I swear these ninjas won't leave me alone.
Drawing's been so slow... maybe I should try out RP or something? Let me know if you're interested.

General | Posted 15 years agoOh the busy life of college. Haven't had too much time to draw for the first two weeks, been busy meeting with my roomies, floor neighbors, classmates and whatnot. And calculus punching my blues out. Oh life would be so much simpler if I was better at math.
One particular moment to note, I was originally in an english class that required you to play video games and write blog/video journals about it. Essentially a Let's Play class. I thought this was too good to be true.
Then I looked at the games list.
Then I looked at my laptop specs.

Then I looked at my laptop specs.
It was indeed too good to be true. I wasn't willing to spend chunks of money on another PC (Neither computers were upgradable), so I had to drop out. A tear was shed that day. But I got better. Now I'm in an english class that deals with comics. Yeah.
Other than that, swell time. Besides calculus test that's about to prune me tomorrow. But at this point I pretty much accepted the fact that it's not going to end well.
I'll try to get something up soon, but it's not easy drawing... stuff without freaking out my roommate.

General | Posted 15 years agoIt hasn't been a very good month lately and haven't been in mood to draw much. I still haven't cleaned up all the non-artistic boring stuff I piled on my drawing desk from last month. But I should admit that I brought all this trouble upon myself, which would not have happened had I taken care of them in the first place. I won't go into specific details, but it was pretty much the worst "Goddamn that was stupid of me" yet.
But enough self-loathing. I've picked up my tablet again and hope to get few more drawings done before I go off to college next week. It's going to get pretty busy down there.
I've also been hooked onto Scott Pilgrim game soundtrack recently. It's gorgeous. For the first time in my life I'm actually distressed that I'm unable to play a game that caught my interest. I could care less about Starcraft 2 (As a Korean, I essentially committed heresy!), but an old-school beat-em-up that perfectly replicates arcade games I used to enjoy when I was a child? It's driving me crazy.
Life's laughing in my face.

General | Posted 15 years agoBeen busy most of the week. College orientation, yelling at Passport Canada for screwing up my photo, AP not sending me my damn scores, and trying to get back the sleep I lost over the week. And my parents recently got my sister a dog and not surprisingly, most of the responsibility has been deferred onto my shoulders.
And then there's Raiden II. Oh good memories. I died in first stage again.

General | Posted 15 years agoI haven't drawn much lately, and I couldn't bring myself to draw even when I wanted to all week. Another artist's block maybe, but I somehow dislike calling it by such a term.
I've started playing Under Defeat (A fantastic alternate-WWII shooter made by G. Rev for Dreamcast) again. As I died repeatedly trying to get my groove back in the game, it hit me. I haven't drawn military machine mashups in ages! I practically drew them all the time whenever I'm bored at school and whenever my friends took a peek at it they frequently related it to Avatar, Star Wars, Pokemon (What), and other ridiculous titles much to my chargin.
Boy, looking back at all those war drawings in my DA gallery takes me back. Heck, it's what got me into all that steampunk stuff for AP Art concentration (Which I should upload a few here, now that I think about it). It's a shame most of the students were more interested in anime art than these stuff. But I loved doing what I did.
And military machines were exactly what I needed. But I really should stop doing so terrible at this game...

General | Posted 15 years agoValve launched Engineer update while I was away, unable to do anything? Why must exciting things always happen while I'm away?
Well, I don't think I need to go into details on the trip. The family first drove for 9 hours to Washington D.C. last Saturday and stopped in the city to get some sleep. The day after we do some sightseeing around the D.C. landmarks and monuments and stuff (Unfortunately most of tours were closed for 4th of July, so we had to walk all over the place).
Then on Monday we drive 3-4 more hours to New Jersey and spend the rest of the week tour busing New York, staying at a friend of dad's, taking train to New York, taking subway in New York, and becoming part of awesome traffic as we attempt to escape from New York. Then taking another rest in Washington and heading back home the next day, which is today.
What a busy, long week. But I guess I had fun. Though I preferred staying in Washington over New York.
Oh yeah, and the freezer side of fridge failed to remain shut the day after the family left. I think I know how Kurtz's last words sounded like...

General | Posted 15 years agoFirst things first, I'll be off to New York from Saturday and won't return until the week after. 9 hours of driving, maybe even more. My family will also be visiting Washington D.C. along the way, but only for one day.
I'll try to have fun, but after how previous trip turned out, I'm not expecting much.
Feel free to drop some suggestions on what to do at New York, or more importantly, what not to do.

General | Posted 15 years agoFinally got around to ordering a new laptop last week. This one's been good for a while, but it just doesn't cut it when it comes to running Photoshop, firefox, music player and other programs simultaneously without causing the whole hardware to catch fire and explode.
But I have to say, I'm impressed that this thing survived for over 6 years (Well, I used it for only 2 years, passed down from someone else) completely intact. It still beats my desktop in few but important functions- CD/DVD drive and audio input device with adjustable volume (The one on desktop locked the recording controls for god knows why).
The new laptop's expected to ship on the 28th. It was supposed to be a 7 day delivery. I'm not surprised it got delayed. It's Dell.
Well, once I get this one hopefully I'll be able to speed things up a lot. I would use my desktop to get things done, but I'm getting really sick of having to reinstall tablet driver constantly.
Also, Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. Some smooth jazz it's got.
