If you are looking for me in the Dealers' Den this year, I have to to disappoint you again. Job and Life hasn't left me with much time to invest in new Merch this year! However, with the Artists' Alley coming back, I might give that a burst on a short notice for a sketchbook or two! You can find me there or at the Art Show Frontdesk!
I am staffing the Art Show again this year - And boy have we bumped the game there: We have a Forum to lounge, Drawing sessions, life drawing and scupting with Q&A as well as a grand opening night, party and bling! I have also a small pilot-project to show off (that is where my Dealers' Time went XD): A Digital Showroom for Animations, Short Films and Tech-Demos and Reels! Our Artists in Animation, CGI, Gamedesign and VR would really appreciate the creative love! Of course, you can also come and see some of my own work in the general and adult section...
Then I am also hosting a SIG again - First since the pandemic! I will have a very personal tale and talk of how I used my digital sketching to help me along my struggles with art block and the depth of depression. Okay - A short notice on EF27 starting this Sunday! I will be there for most of the time - had a bit of a tiff getting the days off... But that now means, I had to cut back my attendance a bit.
So, you can see my work in the Art Show as per usual! I will be displaying some of the new favourites and also a piece or two, which I have left over. I will also be working in the Art Show most of the time whilst there... Please come by and say hi?
You notice, I am not shilling the Dealers' Den! For the first time since EF11 I won't be dealing this year round. As my attendance was in "Trying to get days off work" Limbo for so long, I had to cut that short.
I hope to be around again next year. However, if you do find me in a creative mood, you can drop your sketchbook at the Art Show Frontdesk...

Posted 7 years agoI am fairly sad to have to proclaim this: My furry convention year will be fairly short and intense this year. After having to go back on NFC, next week's MMC isn't happening for me either. Eurofurence currently the only planned convention to note.
That is not to say that I am being a lazy bum! I kicked off some shows in local galleries this year and I will be touring conventions, two Comic & Fantasy related ones to be precise. That brings me on to the reason I am not at MMC: I have been drafted and contracted to be one of the showcase artists at a booth at Fantasy Basle in four day's time. Having been booked to a con just at my doorstep made it an easy choice opposing to travel nearly five hours by train...
I will be at the Couchflux Booth more or less the entire Thursday and then returning half day Friday and Saturday. I know, a few number of your guys reading here might be attending, so drop by at Hall 2.2 Booth 790. After that, before entering Summer recess, I will be attending ComicCon Stuttgart again. I intend to mingle a bit and meet up with my folk in southern Germany, so I will just be wandering the floor most of the time.
There are quite a few projects in the pipes, to which I will have announcements in a few weeks time, once work has calmed down a bit again!

I have my latest uploads as posters with me for the art show, you can also buy them as buttons too: Deep, YIFF (Both versions XD). I am skipping prints this year, folk attending EF will get to buy the new digitals as limited prints.
Also, I have two originals with me, but I would like to keep them a surprise for now :D

I wish I had more to celebrate and show off with! Saddly, my time was cut short with a ton of other work. Also, during the last push over the past days, I was suffering from shoulder aches which then of course made some small, last-minute drawings impossible. As that hasn't fully cleared, I am even cautious to advertise on-site commissions right now - just have to see how fit I am!

Posted 10 years agoTrain leaves Ten Thirty… apparently a clear run directly to Berlin… No adverse weather, no strikes, no challenges. I will be lounging in the first class, sipping my tea and munching a salad to pass the time. This is my eleventh Eurofurence in a row, but my first to boast the earliest available arrival date yet. If the voyage goes well, I will be in Berlin in the late afternoon.

This con has become really grassroots again, just like the first time I ever attended: Rainy weather meant that artists would pile up inside for booze and sketch. Campfires made socialising in the evening a blast. I have rarely been this chilled and thrilled of a con in ages!
As work didn't permit a lot of prep work, I only have a few pieces on the road so far. Though scanned, I haven't been able to clean them up and post them. I expect to get round to do so the next few days. An A1 Poster of «Pretty» is also available.

There is the usual range of Merch available from Aaaargh TShirts to Buttons and Sketches in Sketchbooks... The Print Sale was quite a success last year, so I am offering a "everything must go for 5.–" scheme again. Where available, some of the same limited print numbers have been bundled, so you can get nifty packs of prints all with the same limit number. However, those are about to be sold out, as I am reaching the end of the print run on more and more of the A3 prints.

Let's kick off this new Convention season with the small feel-good MMC16, which I will be attending from tomorrow onwards.
Please come by and visit me in the Artist Alley and maze upon my pictures in the Art Show.
Amongst them, you will be able to find selected delights such as

Automation
There will be more on display, but those are far more hush hush (Conbook Artwork, Presents and T-Shirt Motifs), so I simply don't want to spoil the surprise. They will all be uploaded after the fact :D
I will also be taking the odd sketch and badge as usual, whenever I find the time. Prints of my digital work will be available too. This year, I really hope to get round to trading sketchbooks more... MMC seems to be the convention where I can still get to do that!

Posted 13 years agoCurrently packing my Stuff, getting all my pens and pencils in order. This year, I have a lot of traditional media pictures with me. Hardly any digital prints this season, the big exception being my jumbo poster plots. So if you want to see all my pencils and pastels for real, then visit the Eurofurence Art Show.

Posted 13 years agoSo after the ten years of uploads, we hit yet another milestone to celebrate … or at least we would, if the number were even decimals and not geeky. Also, I am afraid, this jubilee is actually restricted to FA and the watchlist there.
A not-so-random number if you are internet savvy but a very random number when it comes to celebrate milestones. Nevertheless, I did feel the urge to show my vectory geeky self and proclaim 1337 Watches. Thank you very much for all the support. It is really appreciated you guys rock!

10 Years of Uploads
Posted 14 years agoIn the year 2000, I signed up with the local cable operator to get better, faster and more reliable internet than one could get via the dial up. I already had an substantial consumption of bandwidth, as I was consuming a lot of pictures on the world wide web - TLK Fandom for instance, or stock and press photo galleries for reference...
I started to tinker round on the web, join web lists, yahoo groups and forae, subscribe to gallery archives and so on. That is when the Lion King Afficianado and Allison Uttley Reader fully became aware of this Furry phenomenon. I subscribed to VCL in late 2001, because I wanted to have a place where I could dish out my Lion King-esque pictures, which I was discouraged of showing round at the school of art. So, on Christmas Day 2001, Blue_Panther uploaded his first pictures to the Internet, baring his Avatar Signature and Name.
To commemorate, I have redrawn one of the pictures within my first VCL uploads, befitting the time of the year with all our dinners and meals and stuff. The original piece was drawn sometime in 2000 for a "Thank you" card, answering a dinner invitation and uploaded on Christmas 2011. It is very interesting to see the comparison from there to now: The shoe box lion snout is still there, as is the scrawly fluffy pelt. Techniques and medias have changed a lot. Moving away from traditional media, I have become very digi-savy with my illustrations.
