A Year Gone By...

This has been a long overdue post.
First, I'd like to say I'm sorry to everyone for making them wait for updates.
You've all been supportive of me and my writing, and you deserve better.
Where to begin?
I guess it's important for you all to know that I'm alive.
I'm NOT retiring/stopping/quitting.
Last December I was hit by what could best be called a mix of holiday blues and burn-out.
When I took a break, I found it hard to get myself motivated to get back into the groove.
It's been especially hard the last few months due to a few things going on in my personal life.
You know. Various home projects. Appliances decide to die and need to be replaced. Roof leaks. Toilet hisses. AC conks out in the middle of summer.
What's especially been an issue is that I pulled a hamstring awhile back. At first, I thought it was a simple pulled muscle. Said to myself, "Go easy, give it a couple days off, ice, heat, ibuprofen, etc. and get back to my routine". It was particularly bothersome because it always seemed to flare up in the mornings, the prime time I did my writings. Hard to focus when it seems like I'm sitting on a steak knife.
I started going to physical therapy in September. Luckily, the docs have told me they don't think I need surgery. I've been making progress, but I still have the occasional flare-up.
On top of all that, I was one of those affected by the government shutdown throughout October.
I wasn't fired or furloughed. But I was working without a paycheck for a while. Again, hard to focus on stories when I'm watching my saving dry up.
Things seem to be back on track for now, but you never know. (stopping before I turn this into a political rant).
Sorry if it seems like I'm whining. Plenty of friends and colleagues I know are going through a ton worse and soldiering on.
I promise to get back into it. I've got a whole scrapbook loaded with ideas from a bunch of different fandoms.
I love writing. And I love reading everyone's feedback.

I'm not sure what happened over the holidays. Maybe a mix of writer's block, burnout, I'm not sure.
Please know I'm doing the best I can to get the Christmas story done and work on some other projects.
Thanks to everyone for their patience and support. It means a lot.

Sonic Suburbia Anniversary
General | Posted a year agoApparently, its coming up on the 5-year Anniversary of the first chapter of Sonic Suburbia AND the start of my posting stories publically.
Wow.
I really wasn't expecting all the feedback I've gotten over the years.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to read my stories and offer critiques. It's meant a lot as I improve as a writer.
So, I'm aware that updates on SonicSub are kinda slow. Plus, quite a few people have asked (politely) when their favorite character(s) will make appearances in the series. I have a few chapters planned out, but I've realized that at the rate I'm going, by the time I get to them, I'll be an old man. ;)
Therefore, I think a small format change would be in order.
People seemed to like the new poll where I offered small, stand-alone chapters set within the SonicSub universe.
Characters like Blaze, Silver, Tangle, Whisper, Sally's family, Sonic's family, etc. deserve their moment to shine.
But at the same time, I will try to move the plot along with Bunnie and the original series.
I'll do my best to continue to produce the best stories for everyone.

Diplomatic Emissions - Bucky and Jenny are escorting Princess Felicia to Genus so that Aldebaran will formally join the S.P.A.C.E Council against the Toad Empire. Unfortunately, Felicia has her own agenda in securing her people's aid in the fight. And a certain green hare and her old tutor may be able to fulfill it. In more ways than one!

It's just has been a busy time in my personal life.
You all deserve the best I can produce and I really don’t want to disappoint anyone with a rushed project.
Hopefully things will settle down and I can focus more on my writing.

I'm sorry to keep you all waiting but I promise I’m working on the story.
Part of me is actually glad. I needed to remind myself that I write my stories for fun and I shouldn't stress myself meeting self-imposed deadlines.
Further, I shouldn't sacrifice quality for speediness.
I should have it ready by the weekend. So sit tight!

The selection this month is:
Dixie's Dalliance - What was supposed to be a romantic night for Balto and Jenna is interrupted by a certain heartbroken Pomeranian. Can they help her get over the latest rejection and have some fun while they're doing it? (Note: This would be an Anthro AU story and NOT tied to any previous Balto stories I've written)
Between Fur and Scales - April O'Neil is tired of the arguing between Ninjara and Mona Lisa over a certain red bandana wearing reptile. So she makes them see it's better to Make Love, Not War.
Alicia's Bedtime Story - A follow-up to Sonic's Royal Swim. Sally and Sonic are curious about Alicia's past. The former queen decides to regale them with a favorite memory from her youth involving Sally's teacher, Julayla.
Sonic Suburbia Chap. 7: Handy Croc - Sometimes, it's nice to have a man around the house. After a quick fix in the kitchen, Vanilla asks the foreman to inspect another part of Bunnie's house. Specifically, Vanilla's bedroom. And Cream will be damned if she's left out of her mom's high jinks again!

I just wanted to thank all the people who read my stories, gave comments, favorited, offered editing advice, and constructive criticism to my stories.
I'm especially grateful to the artists who allowed me to use their amazing artwork as cover pieces.
You are all awesome!
Before I jumped into January, though, I wanted to ask for a bit of feedback moving forward.
Things like:
Should I keep the RAM, JAM, and KrAM months booked for stories?
Are there any new/different fandoms you guys would like me to tackle?
Should I focus on MORE Sonic, Star Fox, Digimon, TTA etc.?
Are there stories you'd want a follow-up to?
Would you prefer stand-alone pieces or do you like chapter stories?
Do you LIKE the polls I've posted?
I will TRY to get more chapters of Sonic Suburbia and Teachers' Pet out in the coming months.
Especially since I've been told that if I don't crank out sequels/chapters in a timely manner, someone can just slap one of my titles on their work and say it's a sequel without my okay.
