The range of colors and animals is limited by a) fleece colors available and b) my imagination. They don't have to be of your character either; want a farting whale/fox/skunk/rabbit/octopus? I can do those too! Just try to keep the complexity of the patterns to a minimum if you can please :C Otherwise, it's fair game :D

Posted 14 years agoIt looks like my mother has decided that the cat was feeling much better today, because she brought her home. So apparently for now we aren't having to put her down. So, maybe that's good news.

Posted 14 years agoSo, as some of you know, today was my birthday. I, however, have chosen to not really celebrate it this year, because I no longer give two shits about it. Nobody else makes a big deal, why should I?
So, naturally, I have been dreading this day for awhile (yesterday's journal should be a good hint of that). Well, I was also dreading it for another reason.
You see, my cat has been sick lately. We weren't sure what exactly was wrong, but she's been vomiting lately. We switched food for her, and it lessened, which was good. However, soon she began to lose weight. Like, a LOT of weight. To the point that she was gaunt and weak looking. Yesterday, my mom took her to work (Vet's clinic). The vet said that she's unsure what exactly is wrong, it might be a tumor or growth, or a bad infection. Basically we can a) bring her home, keep giving her injections and hope she gets better or at least prolong her life a couple more weeks or b) put her down.
HAPPY FUCKING BIRTHDAY TO ME.

Posted 14 years agoSo, yesterday at work, I'm outside, at the stroller rental building. A little girl who is a few steps ahead of her family runs by, then stops, turns to me and stares with this sort of "8D!!!" expression. Then she hides.
Every couple of seconds she pops out of her hiding spot making silly faces at me when we make eye contact; whatever. Kids will be kids and its cute anyhow. I'm just going about my job while occasionally glancing at her.
Soon, her dad realizes where she is and sees her making silly faces at me. He runs over and tells her to stop making faces and such, and the words that came out of her mouth gave me a good hard laugh.
"But daddy, it's Shaggy D:"
I guess, with my goatee trimmed short, I look like a mystery-solving-teenager with a great dane that can somewhat speak.

Posted 14 years agoSo, I have made a list of what I shall be offering at AC this year, and I figured I would share it with you all, just to see which seems to generate the most interest.
Goggles
Monogoggles
Potion Bottles (Large and "small")
Jewelry-Necklaces, earrings, Rings, bracelets, wrapped pendants
The goggles will all be pre-made, as will the monogoggles, given that i give the spraypaint time to cure overnight and all that jazz. So those need to be done before the con. The potion bottles will be done as well (mostly). I'm also considering filling them with bubble fluid and including bubble-wands made from copper wire.
As far as jewelry goes, most of it is likely to be on-the-spot stuff with a few examples of what I do made and/or pictures printed out.
And, given the surprising lack of interest in d20 pendants since I began offering, and that I am finally OUT of the glowing ones, I am no longer offering them unless A LOT of people PRE-ORDER. So don't show up with plans to snag one unless you commission one before the con x:
If you're interested, gimme a shout here in this journal. I'm trying to decide what to bus as far as materials for these projects.

Hamachi: USELESS AS FUCK (Venting)
Posted 14 years agoSo, after purchasing Minecraft recently, I wanted to try and use Hamachi to play online with some friends (I need it to connect to their network/server). Thus begins my last, rage filled hour.
First, I find Hamachi on my computer; downloaded it ages ago to connect to people in Open Canvas. I try to open it, and it says "Sorry, i can't do that Dave." or some bullshit like that. It advises me to reattempt to open it again in a few seconds. Five minutes of this process (fail, retry, fail, retry, fail, retry, fail) and I become pissed off. So, off to download the newest version!
I get the newest version downloaded, open up the installer, it tells me it'll delete the old version blah blah blah *click OK*. It starts installing, and it gets to end end of the installation, and it gives me some bullshit about the installation ending prematurely, because it can't finish. Not reason as to why, no advice on how to fix it, it just up and say "WELL I CANT INSTALL ALL THE WAY FUCK YOU". So I redownload the installer (maybe it messed up, I don't know. Worth a shot). Run the installation again.
Same.
Fucking.
Error.
FIVE TIMES IN A ROW.
I am sick and tired of this bullshit and would personally like to kick the creators of Hamachi in the teeth. I have tried searching for this error in google, to find a fix. The only thing I find IS IN NORWEGIAN. And translated, the only advice it gives is to UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL. Which hamachi. REFUSES. TO DO.
If anybody on my watchlist knows what the fuck the problem is with this program-OR has it FULLY INSTALLED and is willing to zip the program files and send them my way-I will be grateful forever. Honestly. I want to punch my monitor right now, over this stupid bullshit. It's petty and immature, but this pisses me off to no end |:<

My Thoughts on "Your Highness"
Posted 14 years agoI went to the movies today and decided to give "Your Highness" a go. How was it? Honestly, I'm a bit torn...
First of all, it wasn't rib-splittingly hilarious as I had hoped. From the previews it seemed to me that it would be a gamer's riot and unfortunately, this was not the case. In fact, clear throughout the movie I was expecting them to pan out and it be a bunch of nerds playing a game of D&D or something. But nope, nothing like that.
My major issue with most of the jokes was they seemed to rely heavily on a) foul language or b) middle-school like behavior. However, there were some moments that shined through. And the visual jokes were where the movie seemed to shine, comedy wise. They also tried to prey on that "look at how uncomfortable these guys feel! ITS SO AWKWARD! AWKWARD IS FUNNY! LAUGH AT OUR ATTEMPT AT HUMOR!!!!" type of "comedy" that just makes me in turn uncomfortable. I don't find it funny when they try too hard to prey on that sort of thing. It's as if they aren't trying to be witty, just make a bunch of little kids laugh at these people for being losers.
The plot? It was your basic fantasy plot. Let's face it: fantasy plots are stale. You know what to expect going in, and typically fantasy movies follow the questing formula. There's a quest, people on it learn about themselves and each other, and are better people (or dead) by the end of the story. The plot also focuses on the "sibling jealous of more popular, well liked, successful sibling" side of story telling. All in all, not remarkable. But not disappointing, either.
What did impress me, was the puppetry in the few instances it was used. The "wise wizard" and minotaur were well done costumes and I enjoyed the scenes they were in immensely. They were no Jim Henson creature shop productions, but they were still fun to watch. Simon (mechanical bird) was also occasionally an animatronic piece instead of CGI, and was done well in both methods (I occasionally had a small bit of trouble telling the two apart).
At any rate, I would give the film a 6.5-7 out of 10. Not the greatest film, but far from the worst I've seen.

And it's looking like my federal taxes might not even be back until AFTER THAT (and here I thought filing online was supposed to be faster). I need about $200 to drop payments on stuff, and fill my gas tank for my first week-and-a-half of work.

Posted 14 years agoHey Arnold. In fact, I'd like it if they even aged the characters into their high-school years. I mostly just miss the show but seeing them older and more mature (well, physically. We all know most of them would still be kinda dopey) would be great.
