Hello My Sweet Watchers~ FREE RAFFLE
General | Posted 7 years agoDah, hello guys... I'm so sorry I've been gone so long. It's been an extremely busy year so far with school and all, but thankfully, things have finally settled down again. Phew. I apologize for the absence... I missed you all so much and it's definitely nice to be back. The startup will be slow, but I'm going to get back into the swing of things on here!
I am going to Seoul, South Korea for spring break, so once that gets near, I'll probably disappear for a while again, but I shall give fair warning beforehand. Thanks so much to those who stuck with me though my ghosting.... in return for your loyalty, I'm offering a free piece from me.
Please leave a number in your comment in order of comment-makers if you are interested and I will use a random number generator two days after the last comment and pick someone~ It's the least I can offer for y'all's companionship. Thanks again guys, it's good to be back!

I've seen BTS in concert!!!!
General | Posted 7 years agoOh my god guys, I've done it.
I've seen my boys in concert! AND WE MADE HISTORY!
BTS hosted Citi Field in New York City with +40k people and I was freaking one of them, down right there in front of them. It was fantastic. Everything I could've hoped it to be. I cried, Jimin cried, everyone was crying and singing and it was the best I've felt for years. Things have really seemed to turn around ever since then. I was just... touched, ya know? I don't usually get this emotional to y'all, but damn. I'm sure all of you have bands or singers or something who just get to you and damn, I'll tell you what, these boys just made my night last week. It was such a beautiful moment. I tell you, it was so... perfect. It was amazing. Everything about it just blew me away. I wish so much success to these great people who have just made my life so good. I hope all of y'all out there can find such peace in something like I have with them.
Well, all that said and fan-girled, I'm back now! I'll start posting art again and as per usual, my commissions are perpetually open! Thanks for reading my freak out! Have a great night, I love you all!!!

BTS! Be Back Soon!
General | Posted 7 years agoMy mom surprised me with tickets to BTS's concert in New York this weekend!! I'm so excited-- I always thought I'd love them from afar, but here I am! I just can't wait and I'm dying to see it!
That said, I won't be around this weekend-- I planned to post some things, but obviously, plans have changed. I leave Idaho tomorrow morning, the concert will be on Saturday, and then I'll be back here Sunday, so, short trip, BUT STILL!! I CANT WAIT BUT I WILL MISS YOU ALL!!
Take care of yourselves and let me know if you'd be down to see pictures.... I'll be back Sunday to tell yall how it went!
In the meantime, have a great one! Thanks so much for reading and watching. You're the power behind my page and I can't thank you enough.

Status Update! Please Read!
General | Posted 7 years agoEverything has gone so well on this site with my commissions-- I've had a lot more business than I thought I would get and I'm so grateful to you all <3 I love having this as part of my job and I'm so lucky to have had the work I've had. Thank you all so much.
That said, I'm making a couple changes to how I sell things on here. It's for sure now-- I'm moving overseas to Japan (woohoo!) after my senior year in high school is over (May 2019) to go to a language school there. I'm so excited for this opportunity and I can't hardly wait to get there and go to the school. I'll be living there for quite a while and the change is going to be wild, but it's still going to be an awesome experience. My tuition is virtually covered by another college savings I've had going for a while now.
Again, that said, I'm going to start saving extra money for my venture. You never know if something could go wrong, etc. I'm not desperate or begging for work, but I've decided that everything I make off this site will now go directly into a savings account for my trip.
I WANT YOU GUYS TO BE PART OF THIS, but I don't want ya to feel like you gotta buy anything! So instead, for every $100 I make on FA to go into my Japan savings, I'll do a free art raffle, no watch or previous purchase required. That way, everyone is included ^~^
There will still be my normal personal submissions, really nothing has changed except what I'll be doing with my art income and the new raffle, but I just wanted to let y'all know! Thanks for reading!

HOLY SHEET Y'ALL
General | Posted 7 years agoIT"S HERE, IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE!
Guys, figure skating season is back in session!! Starting on the 4th, I'm going to be back with my coach working on my routine for this year's ice show. I'M SO HAPPY! I spend my whole summer riding and going to rodeos and such-- but autumn and winter bring with them my life as a figure skater and that side of who I am.
Prepare for a bit of a change of atmosphere on my page-- I'm still going to be posting things about my goats and my horses and plenty of Wolfhorse/country/riding artwork FOR SURE, but winter and ice skating are such an awesome part of my life that it certainly will show in my art. If you're watching me for the "y'all"s and the broncos, have no fear, the Hickness is a disease that shows no matter what time of year. I plan on releasing quite a few 'fall themed' pieces as well. Just brace thineselves for the ice skating, too x3
Anywho, thanks y'all for being here! I can't wait to share with y'all all the fun art that comes with my love of skating.
Thanks for watching me! Y'all are great furs and I hope you're doing well. Until next time!!

General | Posted 7 years ago I'VE JUST BEEN IN THIS PLACE BEFORE!
Anyone reading this ever actually watched Initial D? I have and I'm just curious if I'm the only one or if at this point, it's just a meme X3
Anywho, not at all what this journal is really about, sorry about that, haha. I WANTED TO SAY HELLO AND LET Y'ALL KNOW THAT I'M NOT DEAD!!! School has started back up again for me and, dear lord, if it isn't an AP class, I must not be allowed in it. It's been a little rough getting back into the swing of things, but I think I'm finally there. I've got some more personal art coming up for you guys according to what I received on my poll (which is still open in my HEEELLLLPPPP!!! journal), which means some more Wolfhorses, some Inuit, and a few other things are on their way.
My commissions are perpetually open, so if you or anyone you know is looking for some art, hit me up if I work for you/them! I've recently been offered to join a schooling program overseas next year and would like to start saving for it!
Well, that's about it! Just wanted to check in with y'all-- please, PLEASE leave a comment telling me how you've been! I'd love to hear from you guys. Thanks for watching!

PRINCE DONOVAHN'S BACKSTORY
General | Posted 7 years agoMy newest OC, Prince Donovahn Yukon, belongs to an AU from the middle ages. Originally named Donovhan O'Leary, he hails from a rich Gaelic family who-- for his 17th birthday --sends him overseas to a cluster of islands near Canada and Denmark that they purchased for him. There, with some of his best men, he establishes a small government and builds himself a castle. The locals of the area initially hate him, calling him 'The Dublin Pup' to mock both his Irish blood and his young age. However, after several attempts to make peace with his people, he falls in love with a local girl named Ophelia Yukon and learns how repressive his family has been. Donovahn starts a rebellion against his family's rule over the area and becomes loved by the natives, eventually becoming known (this time more lovingly) as the Shamrock Prince. He changes his last name to 'Yukon' and changes his crest to a red caribou, taking sides with his new home and leading them to freedom.
There's much more to this handsome prince, but his story will continue as his art is released! Follow his art to follow his story.

WOLFHORSE Q&A ~ Round 1
General | Posted 7 years agoHi guys!
So I had some questions asked about my Wolfhorses a while ago and I decided to post the questions and answers for the rest of you so there’s more info on my little species for you!
Q: IS A WOLFHORSE’S MANE HAIR OR FUR? ARE THE NERVES DEADENED LIKE IN A HORSE’S MANE?
A: The mane of a Wolfhorse is much like that of a hyena’s hackles. It’s essentially just longer, corse fur, but the nerve endings are slightly deadened like a horse’s are. Because of this, Wolfhorses don’t hurt when their manes are pulled, but it can irritate some of them.
Q: ARE WOLFHORSES LONG OR SHORT HAIRED?
A: The fur of a Wolfhorse depends on the season. Their fur growth patterns are like those of a horse— they have thick fur in the autumn and winter, and then the coat thins out in the spring and summer months. I tend to draw them with their thin coats though, just so their horse-like muscles can be better defined.
Q: WHY DO WOLFHORSES BUCK INSTEAD OF ATTACKING LIKE A WOLF?
A: As their mentality is closer to that of a horse, a Wolfhorse’s bucking pattern is solely to throw the rider. They hardly ever try to bite or attack whoever is riding them— they don’t have the bloodlust to hurt anyone, they just want to get rid of whatever is on their backs. However, Wolfhorses are intelligent like a wolf and will cognitively change their bucking patterns or make their moves more dynamic in order to throw their riders. They learn from the rider’s persistence and will adjust their movements to try and win.
Q: DO WOLFHORSES THINK MORE LIKE HORSES OR WOLVES?
A: It varies from Wolfhorse to Wolfhorse, though overall they aren’t aggressive like wolves are. Holt tends to be a bit more restless and “aggressive”, while Taliyah is quite ho-hum and tame. Normal horses are dangerous animals, too, and Wolfhorses kick like they do. A hard kick from a clawed foot like that could really hurt someone. If they are ever “mean”, they kick and throw their strong bodies around more than they bite or attack, but to a small anthro, this could be very dangerous.
Q: DO ALL WOLFHORSES HAVE LONG MANES?
A: The mane tends to be longer in female Wolfhorses than in males. They can get very long, sometimes even past their necks when laying straight. A stallion’s mane will be shorter and choppier to give less hair for other stallions to grab and pull in a fight. Stallion Wolfhorses can also raise their manes like a wolf’s hackles to intimidate other animals. Sometimes, a stallion will have no mane at all— like my stallion, Rhett. A Wolfhorse mare will have a thicker, longer mane that only serves the purpose of making her physically attractive. For this reason, mares are often used for show or dressage to flaunt this feature, and stallions are used for fast-paced sporting, as their manes won’t fly in the way of the riders.
That’s it for this round! IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT WOLFHORSES PLEASE NOTE ME! I’d be more than happy to answer some more of these for y’all!
Thanks for reading— have a great day!

Hey There ~ UPDATE!
General | Posted 7 years agoHi there everyone!
Sorry for this hiatus-- I've been so busy that I just haven't had time to be here. I miss y'all so much and I feel very bad for not having content lately for y'all. Ironically, it's been art that's kept me busy, but the things I've been working on are ones y'all on FA most likely won't ever see-- unless you're a fan of Disney. My newest off-line project is a HUGE one and it's been kicking my butt, haha!
However, I have a break in that craziness for a while and I'll be posting some things soon. My commissions are still wide open if anyone would like any art-- the work I'm doing out here is very flexible, so I can work on commissioned art with no problem if need be. The only reason I've been so busy with it is that my brain has apparently been in the mood to work on it and because of how big it is, I needed to work on it while I was in the mood to do so.
I'm back to checking FA every day, so if y'all want to talk or want some art or anything of the sort, just know I'm back! Thanks to those of you who stayed with me while I was gone-- I HAVE RETURNED! :3 New art coming soon! I love you guys!
Thanks for reading-- have an awesome day!

I'm Sorry Everyone...
General | Posted 7 years agoHello Everybody,
I just wanted to apologize for not posting much this last week. I went to a convention and on only my second day there, I received news that a family member had passed away. It was very unexpected and quite devastating for all of us. I wasn't able to work on my commissions because of this nor have I posted any art for the rest of you and for that I am very sorry. This loss has really messed up my daily schedule and was very sad for me as well. However, I haven't forgotten about you guys-- in fact, it's been worrying me that I haven't been able to keep up on my account.
I am going to be posting some reminders for adoptions/YCH's I still have, then I will be finishing a commission within the next 24 hours, and THEN I will be back to my normal work. I'm so sorry for all this.
My commissions are open and operating again as well.
ALSO, I am trying to get a few particular wolfhorse pieces up for you guys to see in time for the Belmont Stakes (the triple crown horse race). Hopefully I can have those done soon. ;)
Thank you guys for sticking with me through this tough time. I apologize yet again.

HOLT'S BACKSTORY-- Part 2
General | Posted 7 years agoAND THEN
>
A small anthro puma, named Levy Dallas (SHE IS HOLT'S TRUE RIDER AND I WILL POST HER REF EVENTUALLY I PROMISE X3) had been touring feedlots in her area in search of Wolfhorses she believed were strong enough to bring back from being untamable. She ran a rescue of her own, called Jay's Nest Ranch (linked directly with Bluestrike Stables) and provided homes for Wolfhorses whose spirits weren't quite gone. She was inspired by Holt's meanness when she came to the feedlot he was living at, and despite the workers of the feedlot warning her of his deadly aggression, decided to take him home. There, she nursed him back to health and-- once he was completely recovered --attempted to ride him for the very first time.
To begin with, Levy couldn't even get near him in the round pen without Holt charging at her, teeth bared. She got bit several times and kicked by his clawed feet, but refused to give up. By working slowly with him, she was eventually able to pet, brush, and put a lead rope on him until the day finally came where she could put a saddle on him. She worked with him tacked up on the ground, giving him his space on days where his past was tormenting him and pushing him back on the days that he pushed her. Holt gradually came to trust her, and the day came where she rode him for the first time.
This ride didn't last long, though! He threw her off the first, second, third, and fourth time she attempted, despite her years of bronc experience. Frustrated, Levy continued trying to tame him, but he just wouldn't give in. She was hospitalized twice for injuries she received when being bucked off. The fact that he trusted her on the ground began to irritate her, as she realized that he wasn't bucking because he was afraid-- he was bucking because he wanted to be stubborn. She then worked him relentlessly, infuriated by his behavior. For the same reasons, Holt became harder to work with, as he knew he was getting his way.
Finally, after 2 years of this back-and-forth resistance from the two of them, the game they were playing with each other became tedious for the both. One day, when Levy went out to his paddock to try again, Holt let her ride him, to her surprise. He found that he actually enjoyed being her work partner-- as that is truly what a good horse and rider are together. Over the months following their first true ride, Levy taught Holt how to cut cattle (herd them) and run barrels (barrel racing). When rodeo season came, however, the two of them knew that Holt only had one competition he truly belonged to-- the bronc riding Wolfhorses.
Levy signed Holt up for other bronc riders to ride during a rodeo, and his performance left the judges stunned. Holt was recognized for his wild behavior from rodeos across the nation and was requested to stand in as the mount for professional bronc riders. To this day, Levy is the only furry he allows to ride him tamely, saving his crazy, wild-born bucking for the spotlight. Anyone who is able to step away from a tossing of his considers their luck for the rest of their lives ran dry.
Despite the wild ride his life took him on, Holt remained good-spirited and trusting in the end, becoming his own sort of wild ride.
Thanks for reading! Hope this makes you see my boy in a new light. Please support wild real-life horses and burros that wander the BLM lands of North America! https://www.blm.gov/programs/wild-horse-and-burro

HOLT'S BACKSTORY-- Part 1
General | Posted 7 years agoI had this requested by one of my watchers and had been thinking about posting it anyway, so here it is-- the life of my Wolfhorse, Holt!
(please keep in mind that some of the 'disturbing' parts I will mention are things that-- sadly --happen to real horses. I'm part of an American group called the BLM Wild Horse and Burro Preservation Program that works toward helping real horses and burros that run free in the United States. Please check it out and support if you can-- even adopt a wild horse like I have if you're able, it's a very rewarding experience. Info here: https://www.blm.gov/programs/wild-horse-and-burro Thanks!)
Holt was born at a Wolfhorse breeding stable in Nevada, USA. The small cat furries who ran the stable bred and sold beautiful, top-quality rodeo stock for both bronc (bucking) rides, cattle work, and show use. The breeders were well-known for their care of their Wolfhorses, until the business was passed down to another owner. This owner then got caught up in a scandal in which he was accused for stealing a show-champion Wolfhorse stallion and illegally breeding him to his mares, producing Wolfhorse foals (pups) that were worth thousands of dollars. Holt was one of these foals.
Once the crime was discovered, the owners of the breeding stable fled in attempt to escape the law, leaving all of their 100+ Wolfhorses behind. With no one knowing for a few weeks that the Wolfhorses were still at the stable, many of them died in their stalls, unable to escape to find food or water-- including Holt's mother. However, Holt had been a yearling when this occurred and was in a pasture with other yearlings, mares, and geldings (neutered stallions), who were able to push down the pasture fence in desperation and escape. Holt went with them, and by the time authorities found the rest of the abandoned Wolfhorses, was far gone into the Nevada wilderness with his new herd.
Even though he had show-blood in his veins and had been raised by furries, Holt became a wild Wolfhorse, influenced by his freedom. His initial herd picked on him, as he was the youngest, so he left and found shelter with a true wild herd. As he grew older, he began facing ranking problems with the lead mare of the herd and left them in turn, taking some of the wild herd members with him. This became HIS herd, a herd he led and controlled. He protected them and kept them safe for a few years, until a mustang round-up (where wild Wolf-- and real --horses are captured by the government) put he and his whole herd on a feed lot.
The feed lot-- often the final destination for wild Wolf and real horses, where they are sold to be butchered or aren't taken care of well enough to survive --proved to be the worst time in Holt's life. He struggled through starvation and overall mental disruption. The treatment he experienced there altered his perception of furries, making him view them as horrid, ruthless creatures. He became very violent and aggressive, biting and bucking whenever he was handled. Many times he had to pull himself away from the edge of death, just barely making it through each day.
And then..... (See part 2!)

New Art Tonight!
General | Posted 7 years agoHeya y’all!
There will be new art out tonight, I promise!! I’ve been busy working on some commissions and other stuff on my farm... One of my horses got winter rot in her fur and we’ve been working on getting her better. And our goats are having babies in a few days— I’ll post some pics once they’re born! When ya live on a farm with a ton of animals, it’s hard to predict when something will go wrong with someone. I’m going to post new stuff tonight though (not just reminders...) ;D
Commissions are still open and I have a few in process now, but I’m gonna take a second tonight to post some of my own new stuff for y’all. :3 thank y’all!!

To My Amazing Watchers <3
General | Posted 7 years agoHeyo y'all!
Ooh, first off, my good friend EricBLue22 took my first custom Wolfhorse slot of this commission round by requesting a Wolfhorse mare and I couldn't help myself but to start her line work and let me say.. She's so beautiful! Eric, I can't wait for you to see her!
ANYWHO. Shoutout to Eric AND all my watchers and commissioners. I was super nervous to join an art forum and even though I've only been here for a week and a half, its been an amazing, warm welcome. I'm so thankful for all of you and I love bringing my art here for y'all to enjoy, even if it's just random, crappy things I do for fun. For those who commission me, I will strive to give you the good service and quality art y'all deserve.
Again, thank y'all for everything! I love this site and the people I've met so far. Y'all have a great night-- hope to hear from y'all soon, even if it's just a simple 'hello'.
.....sorry for all the yalls x3 its a Southwestern thing too.

WOLFHORSE SPECIES RULES
General | Posted 7 years agoHeyo! I’ve decided to make wolfhorses a VERY open species! I know they don’t have many cool features and they aren’t a big thing, but because they’re selling now, I’ve decided to post their story and some rules if you want one!
BACKSTORY: Wolfhorses belong to an AU in which smaller anthros (foxes, cats, mini dog breeds, otters, rabbits, etc.) have given up on trying to ride normal sized horses— as they are too big— and miniature horses— as they aren’t fast or agile enough for sporting. Instead, they’ve bred a type of wolf to be herbivorous and tameable to ride, aptly called Wolfhorses. They are not a natural species and were bred to behave and be colored like horses. They are also called Quartergreys for being a quarter horse-grey wolf mix.
REGISTERED NAMES: Many are registered under fancy names-- often times to keep track of 'lineage' --but have a “barn name” that is more common. Keep in mind when naming your Wolfhorse that they will need a registered name if you want them in the database! These names can be shortened for authenticity or changed by you to something more your taste for the 'common name'. For example my Wolfhorse, Holt, is registered as 'Jackson's Gun Holt', but I call him 'Holt' for short, whereas my other Wolfhorse, Rhett, is registered as 'Warm Dusk Firefight' and his name is nowhere close to that! For an example of linage tracing, Holt has a son registered as 'Jackson's Dun Gun', whom I call 'Smoky'. The 'Jackson's' and 'Gun' come from Holt's registered name, showing their genetic connection. I KEEP RECORD OF THE REGISTRATIONS, SO PLEASE LEAVE ME A NOTE ON YOUR WOLFHORSES REGISTRED NAME AND COLORING AND I WILL GIVE YOU AN ID/PUT YOU INTO THE DATABASE.
ANATOMICAL RULES:
- always have horse coloring patterns (colors can be abnormal, but is always in horse patterns, EX: a blue and purple paint or a green and pink appaloosa)
- can have manes or not
- have claws
- high shoulders
- long backs
- have canine teeth with a “bit gap” in the back, similar to horses
- solely herbivores
- have large ears that point forward
- have very long fur on tails
- only have 1-2 offspring at a time
-behave like horses (timid, spooky, sort of lazy, moody, gentle)
Adopt one or make your own! Please get them registered! I will have a template for use up soon! I am a “breeder”, so if you want a certain color of one, feel free to send me a commission note and I will “breed” one for you!
Thanks and enjoy!

General | Posted 7 years agoHi you guys, if you’re reading this! I’ve been busy today, but I’m gonna have some time to work tonight. If y’all could send me your specifics for your adopt/YCH, I can get started on them :3 if you’re not ready yet or don’t get around to reading this, that’s fine too, I’ll have plenty of time later this week, as far as I know.
DJ, I also wanted to ask you if you wanted to pay for your adopt by tomorrow or if you wanted it done by tomorrow? Either way works ^~^
Anyway, thank you two for your purchases! I promise to get you both just what you’re looking for!
