SO once again, time management is my enemy. I really haven't gotten much done other than a few pieces of digital art and a whole bunch of sketchbook stuff. I still manage to get in at lest 15minutes of art/drawing time in each day, but its usually working on or inking some sketches.... I also need to spend a shitload of money on repairs to the ol' home. I still have storm damage from Irma.

What I really need to do is stop fucking around and finish Bare Attack! I mean, how many years has it been? I'm still not done? I at least need to finish it.

Yep. Today's my Birthday!!!

I went into my GF's craft room, to clean up, and make some extra room for stuff we were bringing up from her moms house when I found it. It being boxes and boxes of empty tin cans she was "saving" for some unspecified project. I was getting flashbacks of cleaning out her dad's place while he was in the hospital.... I was thinking: "this is where it begins." Kinda scared the crap outta me. I filled our garbage can 3/4 full of just cans. When I confronted her about it she got upset, saying stuff like "How would you like it if I went into YOUR room and threw all YOUR stuff away?" I told her that tossing out my books, videos and art wasn't the same...I'd like to think I got through to her, but I'm having doubts.....

My hometown is on fire. That being said, I no longer live there, but all my childhood memories are there...I just watched an aftermath video of my old High School, half burnt. I'm hoping my Dad's house doesn't get burnt down, but his house is in the evacuation zone and its dangerously close to the Nuns fire in Kenwood. My childhood(pre-divorce) home is still good as long as the Tubbs fire doesn't head any further south...

2017 is gonna kill me if this shit keeps up....

Made it with the house more or less intact(minus some shingles) Kept the power on, did some art. All in all, a good way to weather (tropical depression now)Irma. Although I'm kinda dissapointed my coworker didn't give birth during the storm....at work....that baby woulda been an "Irma" by default. Death Notes Pt II
Finally saw Death note on Netflix, and it was....okay? Granted, compared to the anime, it sucked, but stand-alone it was satisfactory. I understand the whole Hollywood can't do anime movies worth a shit, but still I don't rate this on the same scale as Dragonball Evolution or Fist of the North Star(U.S.? Canada? don't know who to blame for that.). The production values were good, most of the actors did well, but the progression of the plot and character development suffered. Like I said earlier- Meh.

Well, it's time for my day job. Gotta go!

What can I say but Labor Day sucked...kinda. I managed to get Saturday and Sunday off, but had to work on Labor Day. The bright points of my weekend: Friday after work, went to a tiny little hotdog place, ate shopped at the Asian Grocery and bought lots of ramen and candy! Saturday: after all the shopping for groceries, got to sit back and watch Dave Made a Maze. great movie, and a good message to artists that get consumed by their work (points finger at ) Sunday: Watched waaaaaayyy too much Netflix - The Killing seasons 1-2... Monday: they had burgers at work, finished watching Season 2 of The Killing....and delicious pork roast.


Still working on Bare Attack, gotta wait for those days my GF doesn't demand my time....

It's a terrible thing to have Netflix, and want to watch something that you may hate. Probably hate. All my friends hate it. So, I still haven't watched it. To be fair, I felt kind of meh about the anime, so I'm thinking I'll have a meh reaction to this as well. But then again, I love watching terrible movies: Shock Waves, And Frankenstein Created Woman, The Lost Continent(Hammer Film), and so forth. so I may even like it, even just to mock it......hell, I just did a pic featuring a scene from MIAMI CONNECTION!!! I'll see it eventually.

I'm gonna try and finish watching the Defenders today, and I'm so glad that Iron Fist now has some decent fight choreography! I can't really make Finn Jones act, but he does so much better riffing with better actors than on his own. I will have to say that Jessica Jones and Daredevil are my favorites in this, but the nwhole Luke Cage/Iron Fist bromance is pretty awesome.

I've also been watching streams, trying to learn how to do better art, and it does help! Big shout out to  LavyPandyWorks for the current and upcoming commissions, also have some commissions pending with  jush and  Nim-Nim . I'm gonna have to bring my A-game if I ever do commissions again! (soon) Now, I've gotta come up with a concept for some giftart for  LavenderPandy and  theBlackRook .....maybe even a Miami Connection?

Yeah, so it's the first time I've ever commished anyone before, and  LavyPandyWorks gets to bust my cherry! Looking forward to that!! YAY!! Plus, I got a new AC unit installed in my house...and it's about damn time! I never knew how terrible the old one was until now! (plus it was leaking water into the walls and on the floor, causing all sorts of problems...) Its the middle-end of summer and I am perfectly cool! *bows down to AC gods* As for the whole eclipse, I won't be able to make it to Columbia SC to see the total eclipse, because I'm working that day. *sad trombone* But on the plus side, it's gonna be around 98-96% coverage where I'm at, so I'll not be missing much!

About a year ago, computer problems royally fucked with my productivity as an artist, and even though I managed to get my computer fixed (Windows 10 fucked EVERYTHING!) I don't think I really solved some of the underlying problems I had. First off- TIME MANAGEMENT. Since working for Lowe's I was on a "Matrix" schedule that kept me guessing when I would have time off, or time to sleep, spend time with the GF, and so on. Factor in NETFLIX and Youtube, and now you see my main problem. Trying to juggle work, GF time and downtime with art became almost impossible. I miss the olden days(5-6 years ago...) when I could go do my midnight shift locked inside a building with no one to bug me and a laptop with a WACOM pad to work with. I got so much done back then...*sigh* In addition to my time management problems, GETTING OLD! Yeah, I'm not as resilient as I used to be(or was that non-stop free soda?) so I sleep more, hurt more(moving flooring around takes its toll) and most times I just want to sit around and watch TV(CURSE YOU NETFLIX!!!*shakes fist*) Add to all that the human dumpster fire of a president wrecking everything and depressing me with his narcissistic tweeting and that's pretty much why it's taken me 6-7 months to get around to posting anything.

About to go to work at Lowe's with Matthew bearing down on the coast, just hoping all the evacuees don't decide to camp out there seeing as all the hotels and shelters are virtually full. My GF had the same problem the last time they evacxuated Charleston, so yeah, crossing the fingers.... Matthew should be hitting SC by the time I get off work. I'd rather take two more days off.

In other news, I'm back and ready to get around to finishing stuff- last two pages of Rubberent Evil and Last few pages of Bare Attack! as well. Just trying to beat back the procrastination/depression monster and get on with my life and art....

Got my Pro Surface 3 working again without having to pay out the nose....just fucked with it 'till it started. I tried turning it off, and it wouldn't turn back on for another 24 hours. After messing with it again, I got it to turn back on again. Verdict: I think the power button is fucked. The restart and sleep options work perfectly well, but if I shut down, it takes an act of annoying perseverence to get it going again....

My computer is dead....again. 1.5G for a Surface Pro 3, and now, after the warranty runs out it dies. No warning, no blue screen of death, just will not turn on. I try all the remedies, power + up volume 30 sec., vol up/down at same time still nothing. even if I send it back to be repaired, the saved info(All my completed and half completed stuff) will be wiped from my harddrive. I'm leaving it off the charger in the vain hopes it's stuck on sleep mode and will reset once the battery runs out....in about a week. Until then, I'll be using the old standby....yes, the 12 year old Sony Vaio laptop!!! Yes, still works.

Gravity Falls was recommended by a friend and doesn't disappoint, Macross Delta kinda threw me with the whole "magical girl" vibe, but now it kinda makes sense...even more than Macross 7! Lastly, I've read reviews on Kabeneri saying it's just a Attack on Titan rip off, and I can kind of see where they're coming from, but....the whole vibe, the energy of this anime is a whole lot different, with the whole zombie factor and the steampunk setting with samurai and steam guns. Plus(spoiler alert) the main character becomes a half-kabane, a "kabaneri", hence the name of the series. So that's it, until they put out a second season of Ajin, or (long shot hail mary) World Trigger this is what I'll be watching this summer! (at least until Luke Cage and Jessica Jones s2 comes out!)

Twenty years ago today I opened a store called the Chantry- a weird mishmash of gamer(rpg/ccg/larp), otaku, and pagan supply store.... It didn't work out. My business partners were either crooked or bailed on me, immediately after, a rival shop run by guys that wanted their own clique in control of things popped up, and when I did run off my crooked partner, he set up shop down the street to "steal" my clientelle. Predictably, everything went to shit...for everyone. By next April, the rival shop was on it's last legs, a splinter faction had set up an ill-fated shop several blocks over, and everyone found out how crooked my former business partner was when he ran off with all their money. I tried keeping everything going by adding new partners, renaming the place "the Haven", and the store limped on for several more years. Around 2000, I just gave up, sold my share in the business to another partner, and started on a different path.

All the pain and frustration of this comes back to me from time to time, but I realize that if this had not happened, I would have never turned to art, or met the people who put me on this incredible journey to begin with. So this April Fool's day, I raise a glass to all the fools and dreamers that I have met, or may meet someday and say NEVER GIVE UP!!
