Posted 4 years agoGoing to try to post some works done in the game. Trying to have them only in their named folder and not show up in Main Gallery or Scraps. I know Deviantart could do that, I'm hoping it'll work here ._.
So don't mind me uploading and deleting for a bit !
EDIT: I guess they're going to Scraps. It's a mess in there @@

I'll just be doing inky, messy portraits this year. If any of y'all are doing it, too, link me up. I could use more characters to sketch :)

Would love your votes! Even if there's already a clear winner, what i work on after that could still be influenced.
If you don't have a twitter account, you can lemme know your choices here. I'll still be going off from the numbers on twitter, but I'd still love to know!

Happy new year!
Posted 7 years agoI've been able to chill and play games during my holiday breaks -- like
Night in the Woods
2064: Read Only Memories
OneShot
Having a good time with them! Anyway! When it comes to New year resolutions, I never really cared for 'em, but it wasn't until 2018 that I'd try to give 'em a go. They've actually been helpful for me to try new things, learn / develop skills, and start or refine positive + helpful habits. It's been fun here and there!
Here are some of the things I'm planning for 2019.
- Have nearly every submission be animated (or at least an animated thing per month)
- More progress on animated projects
- If I ever want to do gift art / fan art of artists or other people's characters, do it!
- Environmental and room studies
- Comment
- Get back into 3D and learn blender. Or play with SFM. xD
- Cook more things. Be more fruity with desserts.
- Play with a music program.
Hope you guys enjoy this new year as much as possible. Take things bit by bit and have fun!

I think I'll post the stuff that's there that isn't here. Maybe it's about time this account was more filled with what I've made (meaning some more older work will get posted here). Some of it's pretty nice, stay tuned! ;D

Question!
Posted 7 years agoI've been thinking about some deal I could have with commissions while tabling at Furry Migration comin' up in about a week. Like half off or even free for a light portrait sketch of one character if you answer one question.
I want to do something like this because I want to talk with people about their characters and hear more about what these characters mean to them, things like that. Just maybe a week ago, I nailed down in more clarity what Blurry represented and what was behind his name, his bird species, how these details connect / interact with another character, etc. And I just want to have more talk and dialogue like that, no matter how brief or different or non-serious or vague. I think that this would make my tabling time there a little more fun and increase my chances to draw stuff for people I meet there during the few days I prepared and set aside time for to do such.
But.
I also worry... will this be awkward? Will anyone do it? What about you guys? Would you participate?

Posted 7 years agoEDITEDIT: Done!
EDIT: Currently posting and replacing!
It arrived yesterday and I am currently scanning the traditional work I took photos of with my phone. While the images are now as crisp as they could be, they're missing the warm lighting I had on some of them, which I'll sort of miss. But I'd really prefer to not have any part of the image unfocused. If any of you guys actually like warm photos with some blur on the outer areas, I'll gladly make a Google Drive folder with 'em. Just lemme know!

Post-con update
Posted 7 years agoBack from Anime Iowa! Different vibe and content and so many cosplayers, but I had a good time! And there was so much merchandise I was interested in, it was a little overwhelming to feel like buying everything. I ended up buying 2 anime series, Gintaro and Ping Pong the Animation; a Plancaiman; and a Gatomon plush. I tabled for one day with a friend. No commissioners, but I got a lot of business cards taken and a bunch of compliments. After each con day, chilled with my group at their house. We watched a little bit of Rick and Morty, played some Cards against Humanity, watched Bigmouth (love the hormone monsters), and experienced Playstation VR with the RE7 demo (an amazing sensory experience!).
After getting home and resting, I am ready to jump back into original anthropomorphic work. I am planning on trying to open a couple commission slots eventually. Before then, I'm gonna try to participate in Artfight while it lasts and start production on an animation project. I also ordered a flatbed scanner recently so I'll be scanning and replacing any traditional work I took with my phone possibly around Wednesday.
Here's my Artfight ---

Posted 7 years agoI got denied by CMX about a month ago. I haven't really had luck with other places and I don't want to go back into retail. xD I'll be at my current job for a lot longer it seems. I recently got hired on as a full employee and leveled up so my pay is a little higher now (not that I care all that much). My mom is also planning a trip back to her home country next year so I'll probs also be staying so that the trip costs don't hit us too hard. As of today (2018), it's been 10 years since we were last there.
I've calmed down a bit since, but man, I was really feelin' that rush to quit. But looks like I'll have to adjust again. Living solely for a company for two to three whole days at a time really sucks, but I've been getting a little better at capitalizing on the little bits I truly get to myself. I've also got my old table set back up after asking my fam to bring it over last weekend. My space is now a little more work-friendly.
Prep for Anime Iowa hasn't been going so well so far ^^; But I've still got a chance to be presentable at the marketplace/artist alley! I'll be playing off my strengths with lots of fanart of pokemon, digimon, and animals/creatures/dragons/anthros/kemonomimi from certain animes. Tools being pencil, pen, and colored pencil. Also been watching more anime than I've ever been and it's been super enjoyable! Started "Made in Abyss" and "Hisone to Maso-tan" recently and wow, they had really great first episodes!
See ya guys! I'mma go watch some more...

Patreon! And more plans!
Posted 7 years agoI opened one up! Part serious (if it really gets going), part tip jar.
I've got some goals, but I'd do them regardless if they get fulfilled or not. But it'd have to be in free time after jobs and everything else. But, y'know, if they do get reached, I can start them much MUCH sooner! And I want to seem them realized as the rest of you!
https://www.patreon.com/blurrygrey
My bro
Kelvin_Hailey also opened one and pushed me to open mine. --> www.patreon.com/kelvinhailey
I also have a job interview Friday afternoon! Part-time at a premium movie theater with a bar and a lounge and dinners and you can have food delivered to you while watching the movie and the seats are big and they have phone chargers in the seats and they recline. xD I prefer my theaters casual, accessible to everyone, and reasonably priced. But this one's close by, it's pretty sick, and prices haven't been officially announced, yet. It's a new one opening at the Mall of America, replacing their previous one. Hopefully, even locals and families and poor college students can still go to this one without much of a drain on their wallets. Really hoping this will be an enjoyable job as I imagine it! And leave me with enough energy to work on artwork daily. This is my young, entrepreneurial step towards being an independent creator! Wish me luck!

Posted 7 years agoGonna be posting stuff, watch out! A few old, a few new.
Soon-ish I'm going to push myself on world-building with my birds and flower headbands idea and animate stuff within it for the rest of the year. I've mostly just been doing indulgent stuff lately. xD Necessary, though, because the full time job sucks a lot out of me and the indulgence keeps me positive. I already want to quit, but I don't think that's the best thing to do, yet.
I might go updating my ol' deviantArt soon, just to maintain the gallery. I haven't been active there because there's nothing for me to be there for. But right now, I think I just want it to be a record of my progress for myself and others to see. So if you guys wanna see my progression since 2008, go check it out, gallery and scraps xD.
Still got one more indulgent thing that's still WIP.
Reminder to myself to look for local art events and happenings, so I'm not only spreading myself online.
Been thinking for a long time of starting an adult account, but just couldn't because of lack of space and privacy. If I ever do, you guys will have to find it. xD But yo, tho, if any of you guys want to draw some nsfw together, hit me up! Lately, I've been feelin' that I'd want to draw nsfw with other people rather than by myself. Just like at the Adult Art Jam at the... first? Second...?... year of Furry Migration. It really was fun drawing that stuff together and also casually talking about adult stuff at the same time!
On the way to work one day, I decided to listen to Utada Hikaru's older works since it felt like 3 or 4 years since I've listened to them. Man, they were so good! Could still sort of sing along, too. xD Lemme share some favorites...

HWAH?? (General update + thoughts)
Posted 7 years agoDid a seasonal part time in December. During off time, I worked on sketches and pre-production for OCs, fanart, short comic, and personal. Recently quit the part time and now I'm starting a full time on Monday. It's 12 hours 3rd shift on a 2-3-2 schedule, so work 2 days, off 2, work 3, off 3, and so on.
Right now, just trying to have money to pay off loans monthly and work on prep work for projects until they're ready to start. Then complete them and use them for a new portfolio if applicable / grow internet presence. Would really like to have an official job or internship in or related to animation, but really want to have that portfolio that I'd love to show off / would get me noticed, first.
Also trying to get into regularly opening commissions. Still wanting to offer more themed commissions but if I can't think of cool enough ideas that I'd like to work on and can't make examples well enough or soon enough, I'll figure out some general commissions to maybe make things easier/simpler. If I can keep up with regular commissions and have a good size audience, I'd also like to offer animated commissions, themed or general. If that happens, I could use those animations for portfolio use along with personal animations. That would really help portfolio creation, I think. Might be a while before I offer again. Priorities right now are job, project work, and audience growth.
- Considering redrawing / animating older work for fun.
- Still really want to draw kemono style
- I watched Your Lie in April for the first time recently. It's really good.
- (Quote from pic that I still have to pinpoint source of and say to myself every day) --> "It might have turned out like trash, but I put all my effort into that painting!"
- That's all the thoughts I can think of putting / want to put.

Slow-growing Fire
Posted 8 years agoI knew what I was gonna talk about a couple weeks ago, but now I can't remember... ok!
Furry Migration was a couple weeks ago and I had a fun time! I danced late night and did a couple new moves, learned some moves, ate with and talked with friends, stretched a mozzarella stick up to half my wingspan, played games with friends and participated in a small Smash tournament, shook hands, did commissions at Artist Alley, bought a book and bookmark, and even met
boneitis ! The downsides would be me not getting to commission other artists and the Adult Art Jam was not around this year. ._.
News! Temp season at work may end soon. When it does, I can grab a part time to make room for offering commissions and animating. Can't wait to get that rollin'.
I saw IT on Saturday. I really liked it; the characters, the VFX, the ideas, the jokes, the filming... someone find me that book. xD
Any other thoughts?
I'll probs start posting work now. I may need to decide about purchasing animation software soon. My school-given programs have finally expired. Creating frames in Clip Studio (standard version) and compiling in OpenToonz is my current substitute. If I ever go places (even mundane ones), I'm gonna try and get myself to take pictures for background studies. I may also take pictures in clothing stores and draw characters in their clothes for practice. I watched Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light on Netflix. I liked it. Too many good things to watch and too many games to play.
stigmata brought up #whyfursona on Twitter and I thought again about my own fursona and my choices with him and what he represents for me. Helped me to reaffirm him and cherish him a little more. Feeling confident to keep going! And many thanks to those who commissioned me and looked through my work at Furry Migration!

Posted 8 years agoI haven't really done anything on this account in... 3 years. xD I constantly browse, but I never post anything. I might soon, though, should I plan to offer commissions through here, too. And I think I need another place to potentially talk. I can't really get myself to talk on Twitter much, yet. And some info here wouldn't really be relevant to those watching me on Twitter.
What's been stopping me from doing anything here?
First it was college (I've finally graduated!). Now, it's trying to finish up old things (or being haunted by them, haha). Not personal works, but stuff for other people. A couple online and one offline. But now it's even harder to go through them. In the beginning of August, my cousin's friend helped me and my other cousin get a job as temps at this company that makes tables and stages (usually for educational settings). We're in the department that makes the parts for them. We're on 2nd shift, which is 3:30PM - 2AM on Monday through Thursday. And it's been so exhausting for me that I don't really get up until I have to leave the next day. And! Since it's close to school time, there's been mandatory overtime on Friday (another 10 hours) and Saturday (just 5, but it's still begrudgingly slow) because of all the orders coming in. This has also halted progress on starting a commissions advertisement and pieces to start 'em off. Weekends are too short to do much. And my living situation right now doesn't give me much space or quiet time. So! It's probably gonna be a long, long while before I can offer any.
But when I do offer commissions, I think they mostly will be digital sketch commissions, even colored commissions, as long as they're applied sketch-ily. xD What I offer may expand if conditions are good. I was also hoping to put animations to offer, too, but I'm gonna need more time to figure out how I'm going to handle that.
That sounds like a lot of stuff. How will you ever have time to yourself?
Either get up early or stay up late! Like my student days. I'm gonna have to, there's still a lot to do. For what? I'll be attending Furry Migration again this year! Mandatory overtime, you say? I already let my supervisor know when I started and got the A-OK for it. Put a reminder note in their mailbox, too. Might be picking up business cards later today or later in the week (hopefully before Friday). I want to try asking for commissions again (which I'm not good at. I either don't know what to get or I keep thinking I should just do it myself, haha) so I'm trying to make new refs for Blurry and Chou. I want asking to be fun. Gotta try and make it fun. I also still plan on being part of Artist's Alley. But again, only offering sketch commissions like last year (sorry for those that liked and wanted full colored-pencil commissions. Please consider asking for anything else you'd like). BUT. This time, it'll be sketch commissions using more than just pencil and/or ink. Like I mentioned with offering digital commissions, I'm gonna try the same thing traditionally at the con. So I could give you lovely pencil sketches, but you could also get some ink, brush ink, colored pencil, even some sparkle on it; on white or tan sketch paper (size of your hand for reference. As long as your hand, but wider. Not too big. Smaller 8.5x11) The sparkle will be from this glitter pen I bought, which can be used on any color. I feel like I could use it for some pretty fun stuff. I also got extra black, grey, and white colored pencils, plus a white gel pen for the tan paper if you want some monochromatic stuff. The not too big paper size and sketch limit are so that whatever I do could be done within con time. I really don't want to take anything past then. They'll get stalled for who knows how long. BUTBUTBUT!
Before doing all that, I need to try to do some tests and make some examples so people know what they can get. Those are gonna take a while, and I've only got mornings and nights to do them. Hopefully they go quick, but still beautiful. I really want them to work out. OTL
Yep! Lots of stuff, I hope I can do it all. Hope I've said everything I was thinking of saying. I sort of want every journal to be a wall of text, observations, thoughts, and questions. (lol) Those I'm already familiar with from Furry Migration, let me see you and say hi at least once! Maybe exchange social medias. xD I heard they were gonna try and do Art Jam and Adult Art Jam again this year. Lemme see you there! And to those I've yet to meet, I hope to make connections with as many of you as I can, both for business and platonically. c:
I still might not post any artwork yet, so if you want to see what I've worked on lately, check my tumblr and twitter.

They're almost the same. Tumblr has some older stuff, though. Twitter has a bunch of animation retweets and likes that I think you guys would like to see. It's all good stuff. And there's about maybe 5 hours more of sleep I could get. Unless I get called to pick up business cards. So good night!
