Jessie breaks out! Let's Play The Binding of Isaac
General | Posted 11 years agohttp://www.twitch.tv/jessie_lockhart
It had to happen. Watch enough LPs and suddenly you want in on all the fun.
Join me. ;)
UPDATE: Streams over and WHAT a success! :D
...Not really. :P
Issues with video, issues with audio, all of which I was able to get working, but then I started to play the game and the frame rate took a big fat steamer on my stream. It ran SOOOO slow. All in all though it was okay for my first time. Lots to figure out and work on. Imma get to it. :)
In the meantime, you can see how I did for my first stream and how I did on the playthrough: http://www.twitch.tv/jessie_lockhar.....ast_broadcasts

General | Posted 11 years agoThanks to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday, even those who forgot, didn't know, or did so late. It's appreciated all the same. ;)
I had fun. Visited some relatives, got myself a 3Ds and Project x Zone to fill the time. Lots of fun so far. Even slipped in a bit of self bondage. ;D
Thanks again everyone! Love you all! ^_^

Orange Friday
General | Posted 11 years agoFirst off, let me wish everyone a Happy Halloween! My favorite time of the year and I hope you all of scary or sexy or scary and sexy costumes and get to have a fun time, whether you go trick-or-treating, go to a party, or just hang out at home and watch some scary movies or play some spooky games.
I'd also like to give a shout out to my favorite team in the whole wide world, the San Francisco Giants and congratulate them on their championship season. How appropriate that they celebrate their third championship in 5 years on a Friday (normally called Orange Friday when they play at home and all the fans wear orange) and on Halloween of all days. Truly perfect. :D
Also want to give a shout out to the team they beat, the Kansas City Royals and congratulate them on an amazing post season run and giving their fans something to cheer about this year. I hope to see you guys make more playoff runs in the future. :)
Apologies to everyone for being so quiet as of late. Anyone who follows me on DA knows the reasons, but for those of you who don't I have been dealing with a rough bout of depression on and off for the past 6 months or so. I almost lost some good friends and I almost lost my job because of it. I appreciate my friends and my bosses giving me another chance.
I'm stealing dealing with it a bit lately, but it's getting better. And I hope to be able to get back to writing regularly again and finish up a couple stories and maybe start a couple more. We shall see. ;)
But thanks to everyone who has shown me support and love throughout and who still do to this day. I love you all!

Voice Cast - Jessie
General | Posted 12 years agoVoices...
I hear them at night...they tell me do things...silly things! XP
Like deciding the perfect voices for my characters. XD
Yes, over at DA I started a poll asking if people wanted to help me figure out voices for my characters and I can only assume you guys here want to help out too. I want to nail down the voices for each of my characters so I and everyone else has an idea of what they sound like. ^_^
Granted, everyone has their own idea of what they might sound like and honestly, if you do have an idea, don't change it unless you happen to like the results of what comes about. That being said, what comes about from this combination of journals and polls finding out what all of you think of as well as my own ideas will be the final word in my mind on the voice that best represents each character.
So what are we looking for in a voice then? How the voice sounds with each emotion, the pitch, the personality...overall what best reflects the character. We'll all have our own ideas on what best suits each character, but that's the point. I want examples and options for us to choose from so we can nail down the best voice for each character. ;)
So, one by one we're going to tackle each character and figure out the best voices for them and then figure it out with a poll. Sounds good? If not please give me your critique and ideas on how to better figure it out. In the meantime...
I will give several options/ideas and you all can give me your options/ideas, even if it's the same one. Variety would be helpful, but the more a certain voice is echoed, the closer we'll get to nailing it down. :)
So as the title says, this journal will focus on Jessie. Now, there are two version of Jessie; human and furry, so these ideas and I would hope everyone else ideas will reflect both of these versions.
- Rise Kujikawa: Persona 4 - voiced by Laura Bailey http://youtu.be/kP1LIrfsgAU
Laura Bailey is a name you'll see in several my choices for character voices as she is one of my favorite voice actors and it seems every time she pops up, she surprises me. Not only did her work as Rise surprise me, but she even did the voice of Shin in the anime Shin-Chan. There's something cool about a woman who can do a fun dorky voice like that. Anyway, part of what drew me to Rise was her voice and Laura really caught me with her performance and the more I hear it, the more I can see that voice coming from Jessie. With a variety of cuteness, playfulness, mischievousness, sweetness, and vulnerability this one is at the top of my list. :D
- Daphne Blake: Recent generation Scooby Doo movies and cartoons - voiced by Grey Delisle http://youtu.be/jOZOxSODLI4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdx1pdIxqbg&feature=share&list=PLmnhBA406j1YHfWs1gc8bdC8Z8rY1Mn25&index=6 (Patrick Warburton, especially in this video, is always a hoot! Love his voice work!)
Given Jessie's habit of getting kidnapped and tied up, Daphne seems like an ideal character for Jessie to relate to and with the voice talent of Grey Delisle giving her life, even more so does this voice sound like a proper option for Jessie. There's a spunk and confidence and energy to Grey's style with this character that fits Jessie pretty well. Pairing her voice up with Jessie just feels right. ^_^
- Meg: Burst Angel - Voiced by Jamie Marchi http://youtu.be/BsXFQqSBFTA
This was one of my original choices for Jessie's voice. Voiced by Jamie Marchi, Meg had all the youthful femininity and sexiness I imagined Jessie to have. Meg, like Jessie also has a habit of getting captured and tied up and she also has a sharp fashion style, especially the inclusion of collars and cuffs as jewelry. ;)
These are just a few examples and I'd like to hear what everyone has to say on my examples as well as everyone elses. There's really no wrong answer so please be polite if you disagree with someone's choice. Now, discuss! :D

Happy Valentines Day!
General | Posted 12 years agoFirst off, I wanna wish all the happy couples out there a wonderful day. ^.~
But let's be honest, you shouldn't need a holiday to have a special night with your significant other. We all know what this day is really about, but hey, no reason we can't still do something a little more special than we might normally do, right? ;P
And to all you single folks out there, no need to be sad or depressed. You can always hang out with friends or family or just take the opportunity to veg at home and enjoy the quiet while everyone else is out. Well, until they get back and start banging the bedpost against the wall. XD
Now, on to updates!
My last journal highlighted a certain speedrunning marathon to raise money for cancer research, and I'm happy to say it was an amazing success! They raised One million dollars and just at the last minute during an exciting Chrono Trigger Speed run! WONDERSHOT FTW! Literally. I missed a number of great runs, which I'm catching up on via the SpeedDemosArchive YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/SpeedDemosArchiveSDA
I highly recommend watching the Super Metroid 4-way race. It was like watching a championship sporting event with some expert commentary. :D
All the runs are great though. Looking forward to seeing the blindfolded Punch-Out run when it gets posted.
Got most of the items I bought online as late XMas gifts to myself, but still waiting on a very special and very pricey item to come. It's coming all the way from Australia, so fingers-crossed that it gets here. In the mean time I can still show the items I got already. The first I'll post tonight and the others tomorrow.
Writing is still slow, unfortunately. :(
I have a chapter for Streets of Fur ready to go, but I'm not happy with it. It fills like filler, but I don't see a way around it. I might just swallow my pride and post it anyway. You all have waited long enough for something new.
Lastly, some entertainment news: I saw some great movies this past couple weeks, the first of which being the Lego movie. So much fun! Very cute and entertaining and just loved the animation and the use of lego pieces in every special effect like the smoke, water, explosions, etc. Great combination of stop-motion and CGI. Emmet, cute. Wildstyle, awesome! Batman, hilarious! Overall, a wonderful movie and one of the better animated films I've seen in awhile. ^_^
Also saw the Monuments Men and I simply loved this movie! Great cast and story and a pretty decent pacing. I also loved the theme of the story, which I can't believe is based on real events that happened during WWII. The message of "just because we're at war doesn't mean we should lose sight and take for granted the things we're fighting for, like art, music, and culture". It's sad to see homes and lands in ruins due to war and all the rebuilding involved. This movie shines a light it quite well. It's also a pretty funny movie too, with some great quips and quick laughs that don't feel cheap or forced. Also, if you haven't seen the Jimmy Kimmel interview of the cast, find it! Watch it! Unbelievably hilarious! You have to give Matt Damon credit for looking like he really was pissed off and for being such a good sport at being the punching bag of the joke. ^_^
Lastly, saw Robocop and I really enjoyed it. I admit, I miss the tongue-in-cheek quirkiness of the original, but this movie puts the semi-serious hero into a more serious light and really highlights what many soldiers and other public service people (cops, fire fighters, etc.) may be going through with the loss of a limb or even self. The scene where you see what they salvaged of poor Alex Murphy is pretty jaw dropping. You wonder if you really could call it living. Overall, the story and the characters were pretty good and the action was pretty awesome and fast paced. My only real gripe was the pushing aside of Alex's partner, Lewis and how little screentime and influence he gets. Yes, Lewis is no longer a spunky female cop, but a spunky black cop. Cliches much? But he doesn't interact with Alex as much as would have like. I know Lewis served as an emotional anchor for Alex after his wife left in the original, but there's no reason the new Lewis couldn't still be that. Otherwise, everything else was great. Jackie Earl Haley gives another solid performance as the heavy as a contract military observer of OCP's drones and serves an observer of Alex's training after the transformation. And Samuel L Jackson put on a good performance as mock version of modern day political news show hosts like Bill O'Reilly or Ed Schultz. His meltdown on live TV at the end of the movie was priceless. Classic Sam Jackson. There are also a few references to the original film including a couple memorable lines and a brief inclusion of the original theme with a modern facelift. Overall a fun movie and good on it's own and not to be compared to the original.
I've also rediscovered the Persona series after having, on a whim, bought the animated series of Persona 4. Loved the series! It had everything I could enjoy in an anime and wasn't over the top or beat you over the head obnoxious with certain concepts and characters like other anime in the mainstream. Also has a great soundtrack, which I believe borrows some from the game, but it does have original opening and ending credits songs, which are all wonderful. So far my favorite characters are Yu, Kanji, and Rise. That being said, I love all the characters. Each has their own unique style and personality. Yu kind of steals the show though during the more light-hearted moments. The voice cast is also excellent with Johnny Yong Bosch (Ichigo from Bleach and Vash from Trigun) leading the way as Yu. I recommend it if you're an anime or Persona fan. Good watch. ^_^
And because of that I'm no replaying Persona 2 and just got Persona 4 to play for the first time. Though, I'm a little annoyed that P4 Golden is available for the PS Vita and has been updated and tweeked with more content and a better overall game than it's predecessor. I might still get it anyway as I might end up getting a Vita, but it's just annoying it's not available to play on PSN. >_<
Anyway, that's everything for now. Will keep you all posted. Love you all! ^.~

AGDQ 2014
General | Posted 12 years agoIf you are a gamer (video games specifically) and you haven't heard of this yet, then I think you're going to love it!
http://gamesdonequick.com/
"AGDQ" stands for Awesome Games Done Quick. It is a speedrunning marathon where some of the best video game speed runners around the country and even parts of the globe come together for one whole week nonstop to speedrun LIVE some of your favorite video games and some of the best video games of all time, as well as some of the worst. :P
And why are they doing this? For charity. During the marathon they will be taking donations for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. People watching the stream are free to donate however much they want and as often as they want and 100% of the donations go to charity to aid in research for cancer prevention. I'm sure we all have had someone we know come down with some sort of cancer and this will help towards making sure future generations will have the treatment they need to fight and eliminate cancer.
I first discovered this event last year, and I may have mentioned it before, but I figured I'd spread the word about it this time. While the best part about this marathon is the cause, the speedruns themselves are very entertaining. It's a blast seeing these guys dash through these games with incredible speed and precision; utilizing their natural talents, lots of practice, and some pretty precise glitches. The runs are one time through, with some possible conditions (not killing enemies, using only starting gear, races with other runners, 100% completion, etc) and without the use of tools (AKA programs, codes, and cheats). So, it's possible the run could get completely messed up by a mistimed move, the runner getting too gutsy and taking a hug risk that doesn't pan out, or a simple case of bad RNG (random number generator, which is used to figure out any randomization within the game to determine enemy spawns, items, spawns, and enemy attack patterns). Or something that never happens during any of the runners previous runs of the game happens, which is usually refered to as "marathon luck". Moments like these often make for pretty hilarious moments. Or it's possible everything could go right and you get to see a world record run happen live before your eyes.
Aside from the games, the runners, commentators, and even those watching via the stream can make the event pretty entertaining.
Not convinced? Check out some of these runs, which are a few of my favorites: (warning some of these are vary from 30 minutes to several hours in length, but they are well worth the watch ;) )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scT9n0C0Hxc&feature=share&list=FLjopYX2DFYbiDXvx1mXn_aA&index=1 (Mega Man 8: good game, but BAD voice acting; Capcom does it again XD)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bcwOiesWF4&feature=share&list=FLjopYX2DFYbiDXvx1mXn_aA&index=9 (PJ, favorite runner, running one of my all time favorite games, Super Ghouls 'N' Ghosts with some hilarious moments and proof of "marathon luck")
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoXaRPyvJyM&feature=share&list=FLjopYX2DFYbiDXvx1mXn_aA&index=22 (Super Mario Sunshine and the Doo-doo-doo crew...classic!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ebFqyr41H0&feature=share&list=FLjopYX2DFYbiDXvx1mXn_aA&index=48 (Blindfolded run with the Daniel-san headband, classic!)
Please take a look at couple of these and if any of them have caught your interest, check out the live stream of the marathon and donate if you can.
The marathon goes from today (Sunday Jan. 5) at 9am PST to Saturday, Jan. 11 at 9pm. Here's the stream link again as well as the schedule with the list of games they will be running as well as what prizes they will be raffling off during certain segments of the marathon:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scT9n0C0Hxc&feature=share&list=FLjopYX2DFYbiDXvx1mXn_aA&index=1 (Mega Man 8: good game, but BAD voice acting; Capcom does it again XD)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bcwOiesWF4&feature=share&list=FLjopYX2DFYbiDXvx1mXn_aA&index=9 (PJ, favorite runner, running one of my all time favorite games, Super Ghouls 'N' Ghosts with some hilarious moments and proof of "marathon luck")

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ebFqyr41H0&feature=share&list=FLjopYX2DFYbiDXvx1mXn_aA&index=48 (Blindfolded run with the Daniel-san headband, classic!)

Happy New Year everyone! My news years resolution? Write more. XD
Yes, hopefully I can get my mojo going and get some more writing done and maybe even finish a story this year. Here's hoping.
*fingers crossed*
Not much else going one really. Got some goodies on Christmas and beyond. The best ones I got for myself. ;P
A few of them just arrived and I really hope to wear them in public someday this year. We shall see.
The other items...well let's just say I might get arrested for wearing them in public, but they're still on the way. Can't wait! ^_^
Lastly, I'd like to give a shout out to
tatious for 1) Being a fantastic artist and taking on the challenge of drawing up the cast for my Streets of Fur story and 2) to help her out by let you all know she and her band need some help getting to Austin, Texas for a Battle of the Bands competition. All you have to do is follow this link: http://austin.battleofthebands.com/.....SkiestoConquer
Vote for her band (you'll have to give a name and an email I'm afraid) and then spread the word. The more people who vote and vote multiple times give her and her band the best chance to get to that competition. So help her out. ;)

Happy Holidays!
General | Posted 12 years agoOh, and Merry Christmas too. ;P
Personally, I'm of the mind that when you say "Happy Holidays" it's a universal greeting that wishes everyone a happy "whatever you celebrate", which includes Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan, Kwanza, Winter Solstice, and any other winter time celebrations that others observe that I either don't remember or don't know about.
Sure it's a bit of a cop out, but it's meant to simply wish everyone a joyous time this time of year. So, if you hear someone say that, feel free to say it back. I'm personally not offended if someone responds with the well wishing of a specific holiday, but I'm not sure what others are offended when they don't hear that specific holiday greeting. Christmas may be the most observed, but it means different things to different people and the different ways that celebrate it. That and it's not the only widely observed holiday out there. I wouldn't be surprised if either Hanukkah or Ramadan have it beat or give it a good run for it's money this time of year.
I dunno. It's just me I guess, but I like to be able to meet people on their own terms as well as my own and this I feel does that. ;P
Anyway, I hope everyone has or has had a wonderful season this year! Hugs and kisses to you all! Hope you all get wonderful pressies. ^_^

Updates
General | Posted 12 years agoFirst off, I'd like to thank everyone for wishing me a Happy Birthday as well as those who intended to but forgot or simply didn't know. ;)
^.~ Love you all!
Second, having troubles with the older laptop now and so I'm stuck borrowing time on someone else's computer. :(
Took the less older one in to get looked at, but won't get the results of the diagnostics back for a couple days. Hopefully, the news is good. Otherwise, I'll have to spring for a new laptop altogether with my next paycheck. Hopefully, I can find a decent one for about $300-400 or maybe $500 if it's really reliable and highly praised. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.
Lastly, that means writing as a whole is on hold. However, this does free up spare time for some Deathmatching. :D
Got CoD Ghosts so I'm itching to play some FPS again. Anyone on PS3 who'd like to play, feel free to add me: Jessie_Lockhart
Or just add me in general if you'd like. ^_^
Oh, and possibly some new arts coming, commission by yours truly for once. Keep watching this space for more details. ;)

Happy Halloween!
General | Posted 12 years agoHope you're all having a spooky, yet fun night! :D
I apologize for not having a contest this year. By the time I got around to thinking it up, there was only about two weeks left until this wonderful night and that's not enough time to for everyone to get their entry in and voted on. ;P
I even wanted to finish my Halloween story, but alas, even that won't make it in time for tonight. :(
Anyway, in the meantime things are going well. Still working on getting my HP fixed or just getting a new computer altogether. PS3 is working wonderfully, though I wish I had more time and energy to game. XD
I have a few games I can play online now, so feel free to add me on PSN. Just be sure to let me know who you are and how I know you. ;D
Unpleasant dreams, everyone! ^.~

Computer problems...update
General | Posted 12 years agoSo, it's official, my HP crapped out on me. :(
My back on the Dell and all it's glory. XP
In case I haven't described the problems with this laptop...
A few years ago I accidentally spilled soda on it and it crashed on me. That's what prompted me to finally get a new computer which ended up being the HP. When that one crashed on me (the problem being internal and forced me to have to get it rebooted, losing everything I had on it at the time, oh and this doesn't include the screen breaking and forcing me to buy a monitor for it XP), I decided out of curiosity to go back to the Dell to see if by some freak chance it still worked. Sure enough it did. But the keys were sticking and it forced me to buy a keyboard. At somepoint the sound then went out and this issue with the SVC Host started happening. I've tried to take measures to fix it myself, but with no luck. :(
So, no it has no sound, slows down due to a bug/virus I can't get rid of (it literally corrupted AVG to the point that it wouldn't get rid of the problem and prevents me from deleting that crappy anti-virus program), it sounds like a muscle car from the 70's when it starts up, and the CD/ROM drive is broken from a very impeccably timed fall. This thing is the perfect example of a computer that has just about everything wrong with it. Yet, it still keeps going. I bad mouth this machine, but it's not all it's fault. I can't help that I'm clumsy, but it can't catch itself if I drop it. This leads me to want to get another Dell when I have the money to buy a new laptop.
Anyway, that's how things are right now. I'll have to see how much it will take to get my HP fixed before I consider a new laptop altogether. It still works, but the screen's connection is messed up, I can't see what I'm doing. From what I can tell, it'll be a major fix and one that might not be able to happen depending on what components are needed to fix it. At some point I'd rather have a new one anyway, but I want to see how effective and efficient Windows 8 is first.
So, communication is a little limited. Skype might still work, but Steam is a no go. So, for those of my friends who chat with my on Steam, if you have Skype, you might be able to find me there, if this computer allows.
You can also still find me on PSN. My PS3 of course is working and so much fun to play! ^_^
Playing a lot of Saints Row 3. I may upload my character just so you can see what I'm seeing whenever I play it. I think you'll all approve. ;)
Also playing Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles. I gotta say, I wasn't sold on the Arcade Shooter variation on the classic RE games, but it's grown on me. After all, I loved playing those kinds of games back in the day. I got good enough on House of the Dead at one point to be Ranked #1 on the machine at my work. That said, I admit I miss the exploration and mystery of the original games. Made them much more creepy. Hell, my friends and I couldn't sleep after playing the first RE for an hour, it scared us so much. XD
So, if you haven't added me yet, and I know you haven't as my friend's list is empty of friends and requests, ADD ME!
My gamer tag is: Jessie_Lockhart
As for writing, well my job is looking like it's full time, though it's kind of hectic. And the store hasn't even opened yet. Well, technically it just did. :P
Anyway, that has my working a good 30-40 hours it would seem and that combined with PS3 leaves little room for writing, but I want to write more so I'll find a way to squeeze in a couple pages now and then in between working and gaming.

Computer problems...
General | Posted 12 years agoSomething's buggy about my computer and I have no idea what's causing it.
It started a few days ago and possibly after trying to go online at a Starbucks. :P
Anyway, it slows down massively to the point that it can take up to a minute to load something. I hear the drive get into a cycle, but I don't know if it's a program or a virus as neither seem to be the problem (ran anti-virus and stopped certain programs from running). Anywho if this is constant problem it means I might not be online much. I might have to go back to using the Dell again, which as slow as it still is is faster than what I'm experiencing. For now it's okay, but that could only last a few minutes.
Until I know for sure I might be scarce. :(
Here's hoping that's not the case...

Updates...
General | Posted 12 years agoSo, lots of new things to report...
First off, I had an awesome last couple weekends! Labor Day weekend was great. Attended a local gaming convention and had some great experiences. Love boardgames and the fun of playing with people in person. :)
This past weekend was great too. More gaming, some partying, and attended a ballgame too.
Second, I recently got myself a PS3! :D
Having so much fun with it. Playing Saints Row the Third a lot. SO much fun. ^_^
My tag is: Jessie_Lockhart
Don't much in the way of online games, but feel free to add me. Just let me know who you are and where and how I know you from. ;P
Last, and certainly not least, I have a job again. :)
It's only seasonal as it's a new store that opened up and they want to see how well business will be and how well I do before they decide if they want to keep me on, but it's a job, it pays money, I'm so excited to work for this company. It's gonna be great! ^_^
So, this does mean stories will be slower than usual, but I try to get a few pages typed up when I can. Feel free to poke me and remind me to. ;P

And after 4 hours of labor...
General | Posted 12 years ago...I am born...anew! *heavenly fanfare*
Seriously, though, I just got home from my first true bondage session and after 4 hours of enduring strict bondage, I feel amazing!
I always enjoy my own self-bondage sessions, but none of them compare to what I experienced tonight. The real thing is just so much more exhilarating, especially considering I had a very experienced play partner.
I endured several strict ties and learned my own limits. The tie I really wanted to do, the kind you often see my OC in (arms behind back with wrists and elbows tied, legs tied, chest harness) was too strict for me. My arms went numb after only 10 minutes. I was disappointed in myself. But things got better with an awesome chairtie and a unique hogtie with a spreader bar for my ankles and a head harness. He didn't have a real ballgag, but his homemade one was very effective and surprisingly comfortable. It was actually the only gag I had all night, but it was all I needed. Once it was in, my excitement hit a new level. Finally, still tied tight and with the help of a marital aid I was worked to a finish and I was done.
All in all the first half was a good warm up and test of what I could handle and then the second half was fantastic with some great ties and thorough gagging. Best night of my kinky life and I really look forward to doing it again. ^_^
Now that that's out of the way, I just want to thank everyone for the well wishes and care for my well being. I was pretty nervous, but as the night unfolded it became pretty clear to me that all would be good. Thanks again everyone! And while I had so much fun, it is kind of good to be back as a civilian and not a damsel...for now... ;)

Updates!
General | Posted 12 years agoFirst off, I want to wish everyone a belated Independence Day! :D
I know it's specifically an American holiday, but I'm sure at some point or another one of you other countries fought for your own independence from a dictatorship, an incompetent government, whether the fighting was done with weapons or protests. Hell, we're still seeing it in the middle east right now. So, I wish everyone freedom, prosperity, and happiness. ^.~
Second, in terms of health, I think I'm doing alright. Trying to eat healthier now and avoid another bout with kidney stones or any other serious ailment associated with a bad diet. I've also been working out, or at least trying to. There's a 6 mile race coming up later this month that most of my family runs/walks and I want to participate this year, so I'm jumping on the treadmill to train for it. That and I want to slim down a little. Fit into a smaller sized skirt and all. ;)
Third, I know I haven't said anything, let alone weighed in on the recent decisions regarding gay marriage. To be honest, I'm not sure I really need to. This is one of those cases that I'd be okay with people assuming something of me and that I'm happy with the Supreme Court's decisions about DOMA and California's Prop 8. I will say that marriage/unions is something that has existed before the existence of the major religions that exist today, so I don't believe they get to claim the right to decide how it should be defined. And I'm sure somewhere along the line in history you would have found the dictionary defining marriage as a union between two people who love each other or wish to commit to each other, etc. I would also like to say that I don't know where this idea of excluding people from institutions or freedoms just because they are different really comes from. Now, I'm okay with clubs that are comprised of all males, all females, all transgender, all people who have a prosthetic limb, etc. and don't normally include anyone more than that specific group. Like the all boys treehouse club that has a sign that says, "No girls allowed!" I'd rather the kids not be so rejective and biased, but it's not like the girls can't have their own club if they so wish. In the case of marriage, gay people didn't (and still don't depending on where you live) have the ability to get married. So, it wasn't just "no gays allowed" in this ultimately desired club (by most people), but it also said, "and gays can't make their own club, so naaa!" It's like a big middle finger in their face. And it DOESN'T change marriage as it is. Hell, my opinion of marriage is littered with skepticism. If it wasn't for some great examples of how and why it can work and how to do it right, I'd give up on the concept all together. All it does is include a group of people who have every right to be as happy and as miserably as straight people. Just as important it affords them the same benefits married couples get. A big deal when trying to raise a family. Plus it allows a validation that no gay person ever has to feel like they and their significant other are strangers because the government sees them as strangers.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents on the matter and I'd like to leave it at that. While I don't know if I'll ever find myself in a relationship with another man, I at least feel comfort that those who love a person who is of the same gender that they can get married if they so desire. Fairness. That's what it's really about. :)
Lastly, I would like to address my lack of posts lately...
Still looking for work, so that's eating up my time...and my confidence. XP
I've also been busy with games lately. Mostly Lego Harry Potter, Payday (thanks to
Scarlett-the-Red for introducing me), and just general videos of gameplay and runs. I've discovered Awesome Games Done Quick, which is a marathon of gaming fun put together by a group of speed runners to raise money for cancer research. They have people donate towards game challenges, certain runs, specifics of those runs, and they can win fun prizes and all the money goes to funding cancer research. It's an awesome cause and a great watch. It's fun to see the runs don't go quite as planned and some of the crazy strategies these players come up with. My favorite so far is a speed run of Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts run by a player named PJ. His commentary and how the run went is hilarious! Normally, you'd run the game with the Dagger as it is overall the best weapon, but he runs it with the Torch and some great skills and strategies with it, but he seems to put his foot in his mouth and predicts things going wrong several times without intending to. Check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zg1PVX_mLr4&feature=share&list=FLjopYX2DFYbiDXvx1mXn_aA
Anyway, it's got me hooked and I'm watching all these amazing and often hilarious speed runs. If you're a fan of video games, I recommend you watch these guys. ^_^
That and I also saw my first game of League of Legends and I'd love to play it someday. However, my first experience watching it was a live tournament in Korea. The broadcasters were American, but I had trouble understanding some of the lingo. I don't imagine I could ever get that good, but it looks like a lot of fun to play. Plus the I love concept and the some of the characters. You can guess which ones right? In fact, whoever guesses my favorite character is (even though I've never played it yet XD) , gets a kiss. ^.~
Anyway, I HAVE been writing however. Finishing up the next Inquisitors, but I've recent been working on a side story that revolves around Jessie's world, like my Halloween and Christmas stories. It's meant to get some insight into Jessie, his life, relationships, loved ones, and general goings on in the world I've created for him. It does have some sexy encounters. So sexy in fact that I have to write and edited version for DA, while FA will have the full version. I'm worried about how it will go in the latter part of the story as I plan to get pretty adult with the kinky stuff. I'll find a way to make it work for all my DA followers. ;)
I still plan to finish my holiday stories and fulfill my obligation to those who have won a story from me, so please be patient with me. I will deliver. In the meantime, I have a few sketches and pics to post of recent gifts and inspirational stuff involving my characters that will be up in the next few days or so.
Thanks for your continued support everyone.
Love you all!

Updates: Moves, Health, and...SheZow?
General | Posted 12 years agoSo a funny thing happened to me the other day...
I got kidney stones. :P
Yeah, for anyone who knows, I know it's not actually funny. I just couldn't really think of a another way to set this up. XP
I'm not going to come out and say it's the most painful thing ever. Until I experience child birth, I am perfectly fine with saying there are worse pains out there. And in truth, everyone is different when it comes to pain. Some pains are worse than others for some people and it will vary from person to person. I will say that it is by far the worse pain I have ever experienced in my life. I was almost in tears and begging for something to dull the pain. Just dull it. Not just relieve it, but dull it. Any degree of pain less than what I was experiencing would have been enough. It was a pretty pathetic sight. I'll joke about it now, but only at my own expense. Anyone else experience it, I won't be joking.
I can't say for sure what makes it so painful...perhaps the size of the stone(s) against the size of the tube it has to go through...the possibility that they are rough around the edges and grind and scrape against the lining of your insides...but it does mean that I'm going to need to change my diet once I find out what caused it. Anyway, I'm doing fine now. Got some medication to help ease the pain and I get to pee through a funnel with a filter so I can see what the little devil(s) looks like. Thankfully, the process of passing it through my urethra has been painless. I'm not expecting that to last though. XD
Aside from that everything has been alright. My weekend was pretty good actually.
Helped my grandparents move out into a more rugged and more affordable area (they were paying out the ass in housing taxes) and a place from my childhood too. It's a nice little 2 story cabin house with 3 bedrooms. I remember it being bigger when I was little, of course I was "little" back then so of course it seemed bigger back then. Makes me think of the line from "Hook":
PETER: "I remember you being a lot bigger..."
HOOK: "To a 10 year old I'm huge..." (funny considering how short Dustin Hoffman is; I just recently saw it and every scene where Pan and Hook are standing toe to toe during the fight scene in the end, you can see Robin Williams and you can tell it's a double as Hook XD)
Anyway, the first day was a nightmare for everyone: grandparents, my mom, the movers, the cable guy, me (to a lesser extent)...
There was more furniture than the place could hold (it looked like a consignment center when everything was unloaded and in the house), my grandpa was a bit snippy about how he wanted his den/guestroom and made my setting up the furniture, computer, and TV a pain and a pain for the cable guy who had to crawl around in crawl spaces that were 200+ degrees because of the heat just to figure out where all the lines and junctions were...finally, once the day was done, the movers had left, the cable and internet was set up, everything settle down and was much better. The next two days were good too. Quiet, mostly stress-free, and the place was starting to come together.
Because my grandparents have some of the better cable packages, I got to watch some channels I never get to watch here at home, namely The Hub and Disney XD. Not a huge deal, but considering I love animation it allowed me some better options for programs to watch. I also got to watch a couple shows I never saw before like "Transformers Prime" (not bad), "Ultimate Spider-man" (also not bad), and a show I been hearing about (mostly due to the controversy behind it's premise) called SheZow. So, apparently this show has been getting buzz because it's about a 12 YO boy who discovers a ring hidden in a secret panel that belonged to his Aunt and after saying the phrase "You go girl!" (seriously, this is how he transforms XD) he transforms into the popular super heroine SheZow. This much to his sister's frustration since she's been SheZow's biggest fan and is even the president of her fan club. It gives her pride that her Aunt was her idol, but also gives her grief that her dorky brother is now playing the role. Meaning that Guy (yes, his name is Guy and they point this out several times in the theme song, "Guy is SheZow") can't remove the ring and his forced to don the very girly and very pink mantle of SheZow. By saying the "magic words" I mentioned above, Guy dons a very pink and very girly uniform consisting of leopard print, a miniskirt, gogo boots, and a slick hairstyle that happens to have a pink streak through it. Here's what I'm talking about: http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2.....oe-d5tz0un.jpg
So, thus begins a journey of self-discovery and potentially a better understanding of the opposite gender. It's kinda hard to believe that when SheZow's many powers seem to follow a stereotype regarding women: Super She-slap (overgrown hand), Super Scream, Laser Lipstick (lightsaber), Vanishing Cream (cream that turns her/him invisible), She-SP (ESP or a sixth sense when it comes to danger, sort of like the spidey-sense), a Hairbrush boomerang, and keeping all these powers in check is the hair. If at any point SheZow's hair is messed up her powers are nullified and she has to use a special hairspray to fix it.
Then there's the over use of "She" as a qualifier for a lot of words. It's a bit annoying, but clearly it's the gimmick they've gone with, so don't expect it to end anytime soon. On top of that, the show feels like it was written in the late 90's or the early 00's and wasn't really re-written for the 2010's. Not that it had to be. There's no reason any show has to be written for today's audience to get.
Now, despite my gripes with the choices they made for SheZow's powers, the over use of the word "She" and the the feeling of over used stereotypes when it comes to guys and girls, I really don't have much of a problem with this show. At times, the jokes and writing can be funny and clever, even when it borrows ideas from other media:
-Kelly helps Guy develops his SheZow abilities by having him blindfolded and using his Lightsab-I mean "Laser Lipstick" and the For-I mean "She.S.P." like the scene in that popular space drama where the elder "wizard" teaches the young protagonist to use the...magical energies around him to defend himself with his lasersword against a training robot while blindfolded
-The "Laser Lipstick" resembles the type of weapon used by Eclair in the anime "Kiddie Grade" which is a whip that extends from a tube of lipstick
-Batman: with regards to the use of a utility belt, a secret lair, and a variety of vehicles (or "She-hicles" as they called in the show) to get around in
I also like the idea of a crossdressing super hero. Whether it be a woman who poses as a man or a man who poses as a woman. And yes I know, Cybersix did this concept first, but so did a number of other shows before Cybersix. So, let's not get into that silly argument. I will agree that Cybersix is a better show overall, but it's not better because it addressed crossdressing before this show. XP
Overall, the show is okay. It's entertaining and funny at times. Mostly cute and fun really. I kind of like the theme song too. I like the choice of going with a modern punk style for it. Some of the villains are creative and interesting as well as the troubles Guy faces like learning what it means to be a woman (if not in the most PC way), dealing with his father, a police officer who hates SheZow (which makes me wonder what his relationship with his sister was like, though they don't say whether she was his actual sister or sister-in-law), trying to keep his ego from getting the better of him, and dealing with questions of honor, justice, and when to fight and when not to fight (again not done in the best way). It has potential to actually be a pretty decent show if the writing can get out of the being stuck in the past 20 years and takes itself a little bit more seriously. Which, I don't mind it not being too serious, but makes me feel like they're addressing crossdressing like it's a joke and not serious issue for some people, especially given how important the LGTB debate has become as of late. I'm not bothered by it that much, I just think it could do better overall.
So, I give it a 4.5 out of 10 overall. I don't expect it to last more than a season or two if it sticks with it's current formula whether it be lack of improving upon what it's already established or enough people complain about it to get it pulled off the air. The latter I'd hate to see. It's not as offensive as some people are making it out to be and I have no problems with it being a kids show. Given some of the shows that are out there for kids these days, this is one of least troublesome shows out there. If I had kids, I'd have no problem with them watching it.
So, that was my weekend in a nutshell. :P
Stressful and relaxing, busy and fun, painful and entertaining. I real mixed bag of highs and lows.
That said I hope all of you had a good weekend. ^_^
Or at least better than the lows I had. ;P

I thought this might be a fun time to try something...
"Hey everyone! Jessie here! My creator thought it would be fun to have me take questions from all of you.
You ask me a question and I'll answer as honestly as I can. After that feel free to ask another, but pay attention to what everyone else asks. I don't want to answer a question I've already been asked. ;P
I don't mind anything personal or even mature, but just try to keep your questions respectful and Pg-13ish. K? Sooooo, ask away!" ^.~
