In Bora life news; I've finished university. Got a First for my final major project (for those of you who aren't british, that would be the highest grade band you can get over here) and last week we had our degree show up in London at Free Range (its a big collective show for final year art and design students degree work) and it went amazingly well. My work actually had a couple of honourable mentions in the write-ups for the show, so that's all sorts of awesome.
And I head back home to Holland at the end of this month, I'll not lie, I'm looking forward to being home with my cat again something fierce :'3 I've missed my fluff-beast the past couple of years.

Actually what inspired me to start was watching my friends Kanako and Leanne drawing all the time in class. I used to bug them to let me colour in the stuff they drew and then one day decided to try doing my own. It evolved from there XD

Not counting the times I'm mimicing styles, and the exsperimental stuff I do now and then, I've two main ones.

Handed in my final major project last week, was hoping to get the grades for it and my last one today, but no go. Looks like that'll be a post job then.
Honestly I've sort of been at a loss since I handed in the project, I've been working on it for the past three months and the past couple of weeks before hand-in I was working on it solidly all day, every day. It feels weird not to have anything that I need to get done @_@.
Annoyingly I've a load of stuff I want to do for myself, finish the next chapter of Strategic Manoeuvres and draw the pictures I've been dying to draw for ages now... and nope. I just can't focus on any of them.
Still, now Uni's done I'm looking at heading back to Holland and home for the summer, need to pack all my stuff up and then the N!housemate and I are gonna drag everything over to the new house (we're moving to a smaller house for next year) to store it for the summer. Then I'll look at getting the Eurostar home.
I need to go through my stuff and junk most of the crap I've been hoarding for the past couple of years, it's getting ridiculous the amount of useless shit I have with me here.
Actually I think that's gonna be the order for this summer, need to sort through all the stuff in my bedroom back home and just PURGE. Anyone know of good places to list anime/manga to sell? That shits just taking up stupid amount of space these days :/

Doll meetup FAIL + life
Posted 15 years agoFff, so I was meant to be going to the doll meet in London today.
But between my alarm not going off, it pissing it down outside (which meant further a further delay while I tried to waterproof my bags - hello expensive camera + dorries) and then my train never actually fricking TURNING UP and then being told there were unscheduled delays on the line and they couldn't give a time that I'd actually get to London - I decided fuck it and headed back home :/
On the plus side, I'll get work done today and saved myself the price of a day ticket to London (not cheap). On the other hand :C aw no doll meet ;3;

As for everything else, life's pretty good right now. we get to start our big old finial project soon, which in my case means I get to work on designing a video game proposal. I AM EXCITED!
Got a new awesome (purple!) phone which I love, have come down with a cold/ear infection (which I don't love so much but at least its getting better) annnnnnnnnd my dolls are just being god damn awesome :B

Bora is shortened from Bora Toki - which is korean for purple rabbit. It's a long story, but basically my friends and I had this little purple rabbit toy as a mascot in highschool, that my friend Jisu named. When I joined my first site (Tiger oekaki) I nabbed part of her name to use as my username. It stuck.

Bora is shortened from Bora Toki - which is korean for purple rabbit. It's a long story, but basically my friends and I had this little purple rabbit toy as a mascot in highschool, that my friend Jisu named. When I joined my first site (Tiger oekaki) I nabbed part of her name to use as my username. It stuck.

My personal style tends to change pretty quickly, so my recommendation is to have a hunt through the gallery and if you see a style you really like let me know and I can work in that one. I'm pretty damn flexible.

Technically I should be done for the year, but Uni told us today we're gonna have a three week long project to do that we're not gonna get graded on... gee, thanks uni -__- (I love this course really, but man I'm about ready to be done and home for the summer :/)
Still, three weeks to go!

So I've ended up having to buy and new laptop in the end, the cost for fixes for the damn thing (and even then they couldn't guarantee it would fix the problem) was pretty much the same price as a new one.
So yeah, the old laptop still works basically - I'm using it right now, and its fine for surfing the web and such, but art programs freeze it up completely... this really doesn't work when your doing a graphics course at uni XD
Ended up buying one of the Toshiba Satellites (the um, A350-20Q) and had it shipped to Grans. I go up tomorrow to pick it up, spend the night and then my flight back to Holland for Easter is on Friday. :3 YAY HOME TIME <3
ANGEL! You need to send me all the stuff for your website so I can work on it over the holiday :3 I'll probably be back to being on MSN 24/7 as soon as I get back home and get onto our wireless XD

My laptops been playing up for a while now, in the past weeks though, its been failing to start up a lot, attacking me with random restarts and blue screens of death. This makes for a sad (and annoyed) Bora. It's also been refusing to accept my internet connection a lot of the time.
So this weekend, I braved the train ride to get to the nearest PC World to attempt to get the fella fixed (HAH!). Needless to say, as per their train record, PC World was utterly useless...
I was told I would need an appointment for them to look at it, the earliest of which I could get would be next friday and would cost me over a hundred pounds just for them to open the damn thing and poke around (baring in mind I'd just spent an hour on the train to get to them... I was not a happy bunny).
Fortunately, across the road from them was a tiny self-run computer/laptop repair shop. Ended up leaving my laptop with them, and its estimated five or so days before they'll know what needs to be done and the price range (there's a lot wrong with the poor thing - including a fan that no longer seems to work D:) I'm also looking at getting my RAM replaced, and my OS reinstalled (or even downgraded... fucking Vista) while its in the shop.
Course this means for the see-able future, I'm laptop-less (housemates lent me hers right now while she's off at church <3). Guess I'll see you guys when everything's sorted out!
TL;DR - laptop is deaded. It's off getting fixed but until it gets back/I get a new one I'm not going to be around.

My laptops been playing up for a while now, in the past weeks though, its been failing to start up a lot, attacking me with random restarts and blue screens of death. This makes for a sad (and annoyed) Bora. It's also been refusing to accept my internet connection a lot of the time.
So this weekend, I braved the train ride to get to the nearest PC World to attempt to get the fella fixed (HAH!). Needless to say, as per their train record, PC World was utterly useless...
