Meets, Greets, FurFright, and City of Heroes
Posted 14 years agoSO!
YEAH.
Okay.
Right.
...
No more being silly. FurFright is around the corner in two weeks time. Gonna be there, so hit me up. How do ya find me? Well, if you have Twitter, Twitter me Gently! Otherwise... um... look? Right.
Anywho! Going to the Furmeet in Boston this weekend. "But wait, aren't you in Maine?" Yes, but I have Fall break this weekend, and it convinetly gives me some extra time so I don't have to rush down and up the same day. To further prevent this, I'm staying at
Guilrosmer's place Saturday night and driving him down to it as well. He is awesome for letting me crash at his pad. And he's a Rudderbutt, which makes him insta cute. So yeah. Will be at the meet. Will stay till either myself or Guil decide we've overstepped our time staying or what have you.
IN OTHER NEWS. CAPS LOCK. IT'S CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL.
IN MORE RELATED NEWS. City of Heroes, what I like to think of as my "MMO drug", has recently become free, and I can play it at my college. If any of you play it or have ever been interested in such, add me! Global is Border Walker.
OKAY. Gotta run. BUH BAI!!!!!

The claws come out & FurFright
Posted 14 years agoI have a temper. This is known to most people who know me. That temper has gotten me in trouble before, but usually the most it does is cause me to say stupid things when I don't really mean it. Rarely does it escalate higher than that, except when I'm not physically well. When some sort of bodily function is not working properly (I.E: I am sick with a cold or have a migraine or what have you) then my inhibition to prevent myself from saying and DOING stupid things as a result of my temper also goes down.
Rarely do I resort to physical violence in anything. But this weekend I did. I regret it, if only because it dropped into physical violence, but I do not regret showing the bastard that I was sick of his "I Am Always right and better than thou" attitude. Granted, the rest of this semester will now be more difficult after this, but hey, he did say "Bite me".
Violence aside, each day it gets closer to FurFright and each day my stomach gets more and more butterflies of excitement. Gonna be so great to see everyone again. And I will be upset if I somehow miss seeing some of you fuzzbutts! But yeah. Gonna be great. Car is pretty much back to road worthyness. Could use a wash, but that I'm going to hold off on. All it needs is some filter thing for the gas tank, not sure. Part was supposed to come in over the weekend, but gonna call the place today to see if it came in.
Tis all for now guys.

How NOT to collect Roadkill
Posted 14 years agoLET IT BE SAID: THE THING WAS ON THE VERGE OF DEATH. MORE THAN LIKELY IT HAD A BROKEN PELVIS AND WE WERE PUTTING IT OUT OF IT'S MISERY, NOT BEING CRUEL PEOPLE. We tried moving it off the road to give it a chance and it couldn't even do that. It would have been dead in another day.
So earlier today, I took my car in for a repair and having a friend follow me so I could drop it off. On the way, we both noticed what appeared to be Roadkill Porcupine. I knew one of our school's professor's had been itching to get his hands on a Porcupine for his classes. After arriving back, we spotted another of our friends, who agreed we should collect said porcupine for the professor, since he's kinda an awesome guy anyway. So, our magical adventure begins to collect the Porcupine roadkill.
We arrive at the location of the porcupine, and our first thoughts is "Okay, how to we flip it onto it's back?". My brilliant roommate (The driver) decided to try using his foots. All three of us then jumped back when we saw the Porcupine which we had checked up and down to make sure it was actually dead suddenly Move. Well, needless to say my rommate was pulling some quills out of his jeans as me and Corvid (Our other friend. Pseudonym) tried to figure out what to do. We could see this ting was hurt Badly. Our theory was that it must have been hit by a car at night and had been laying in the road in pain. How could we tell? We could see vertebrae just above it's tail and the tail was split right down the back. It was angry and not willing to move, only angling it's quill's more each time we tried to at the very least move it out the middle of the road.
Since I needed to get back to my work study for a couple ours, we decided to break and try again when I was out of my workstudy. In the meantime, Corvid would seek out the professor for his opinion on what to do, and My roommate would seek out the Con Law professor for any legal advice. The information they gathered? The professor who wanted the porcupine had been out pretty much all day, and apparently a porcupine that injured has no real legal repercussions. Free to kill and take, no need to alert a legal agency or anything like game wardens. Even better, apparently the best way to put a porcupine on the verge of death out of it's misery is to take a hammer to the bridge of the nose. We just happened to own an 8lbs sledgehammer. Bad idea? Maybe.
We returned to the sight, and after much issue where my rommate apparently had horrible aim and Corvid couldn't even lift the thing, eventually we put the porcupine out of it's misery and brought it back in the trunk of my roommate's car. It is now sitting in a freezer amongst other carcases collected by the school for various students to use as learning material.
But yeah. Adventures in collecting a not so dead porcupine. Once more, this thing was more than likely going to die anyway. the injuries suggested a broken pelvis. We were putting it out of it's misery.
That's all.

Anyone with Car knowledge please look!
Posted 14 years agoNot much to report on from the last time I posted, except for a small update that I learned today. Seems my baby the Blue Monstah (2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer) has decided to go and break again. She still runs... barely. How did she break? Well, she's leaking Power Steering Fluid. Anyone who knows even a little about how cars work knows this is VERY, VERY bad, and needs a fix if she ever plans to run again. Seeing as no mechanics were able to do a fix because it's a Saturday, I'm stuck waiting till Tuesday until I can get her looked at. She also still needs a good Oil Change, but damn if the Power Steering isn't a priority.
I'm glad to know however that the guy who told me she was leaking the fluid was kind enough to not only fill my fluids and toss me an extra bottle of fluid, but not charge me seeing as I probably was shocked as all fuck when he told me. I like that place. Too bad it's 45 Min away in Bangor (Mr. Quick's for anyone who knows the area, by the Mall and Bull Moose). But regardless, this means I need to get this fixed. Problem is is that I really don't have any spare time to do it anymore. Tuesday is my best option, but I might have to skip a class to wait for my car to finish, seeing as my Roommate's Chrysler Sebring is in the shop waiting on an estimate for a belt fix, otherwise I'd drop it off before my lab and then have him drive me back after my lab to pick it up.
However, for anyone who knows about cars, I'd like to know how long you think it'd take to get a Power Steering leak fixed. I have some block windows, and if I can help it I want to be able to have it fixed and stuff without having to skip a class, but I need to know. If I have to I will wait till Wednesday, when i have a longer window somewhat, but I'd like to know if it's possible on Tuesday. Monday is out of the question due to back to back classes.
In other news... yeah, nothing really. I'm going to start working out possibly tomorrow or something and keep on a schedule. I'm gonna try to work it out with one of my friends, so she can help me out, but I need to start working out after I realized how weak my upper body strength is in Firearms training. When you can't hold a Sig Saur 229 out without feeling your arms tire, and that's DRY firing... yeah.
All for now.

Classes, Desktops and Laptops, & being Productive
Posted 14 years agoSo I am officially into my second week of college at Unity for the new Semester. So far class expressions are as follows:
Wildlife Law Enforcement: Typical class for my major. Got one of my preferred teachers so it's not too bad. Gonna be mildly boring though. Might be a doodle worthy class.
Introduction to Computers: It amazes me to no abound that there are people who can come to college in today's world and NOT know how to properly use MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Not me though. I tested out for Exam Credit and passed :D
Environmental Citizen: If indoors, this class is an instant Doodle class. If not, it's a busy class that hopefully won't be too bad. Seeing as I've only had this class once, I can't form a good opinion.
Courtroom Procedure & Evidence: This could either be a very interesting class or another possible mild boring possible doodle class. Same teacher as Wildlife Law so not too bad.
Weather & Climate Interesting class. Right now going over just some basic stuff at the moment as far as what the teacher's teaching, but I like him. Good voice and kinda hilarious at times too. Lab for class might get annoying though if I ever forget a pencil (Note: Purchase lots of pencils)
Interpersonal relations: My only gripe about the class not related to the people in it is that it's at 6-7:15 at night on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Otherwise it's kinda a half interesting, half boring class. Interesting because of being able to learn how to speak the Verbal Judo, but boring because the teacher is more vague than an artist's meaning behind a minimalist painting. This, of course, becomes a problem when we have an Autistic person in the class (Who might also be schizophrenic via an actual diagnosis) who needs very specific, exact directions, including knowing what's he's supposed to learn when he reads something for a class. This makes the class mildly entertaining in a schadenfreude way because of their interaction, but at the same time annoying because it gets annoying hearing them banter back and forth. Probably going to be a major doodle class.
Firerms Training: How to summarize this class...? Teacher walks in, finds out he has a student from both Mass and student from New Jersey, and apologizes for the fact that they (Me being the Mass Student) live in a Communist state when it comes to gun control and permits. He then apologizes also to the girl who lives in LA. Yeah, this class will be entertainingly fun :D
Also got my same Workstudy, working Wednesday Nights and then supposedly Sunday afternoons. I need to talk to my supervisor about that though, because she might have put the wrong name by accident. Not a big issue though.
In other news, acquired new stuff for my Desktop so it runs beautifully for most games and stuff. 6 GB RAM and a beautiful Frozr II Nvidia GTX 560 TI Graphics card, plaus a huge new 3 TB HD (HOW MUCH PORN CAN I STORE?! :D ), but while my Desktop now works wonderfully and I can stop looking towards anything new for it (Since only thing left now is pretty much a whole new Motherboard), but my Laptop has decided to pull the ultimate sacrifice. I had acquired a new HD for it, believing that might fix a lot of the issues it had aside from the WLAN issue, but now the recovery disks I had it does not recognize. I had one that I thought came with the laptop but seems it might not have (Had mom send up another she found which might be the correct one), but what worries me is that even a fresh start with my clean Windows 7 OS disks doesn't let it reboot on there. Therefore, it's that time when I look for some type of laptop that can work for the needs I have.
With a new working Desktop that has no issues as of right now, I don't need much for a laptop, and right now all I'm looking for is this:
*Midsize to large (Hate netbooks & My last laptop had like a... 19" or something screen)
*Tough casings (Being able to survive some possible accidental drops or a rough travel between classes)
*Good battery length (Last Laptop could barely hold charge for an hour. I'd prefer 2, hell, 3+ hours if possible)
Being anti me, I really don't need anything fancy, so any suggestions are welcome. I've been told Toshibas are tough little laptops (Owned one previously that handles being dropped down a flight of stairs) but I've been told that some Asus are good too. Any suggestions wlecome, long as not too expensive. No real price range, but cheaper the better, and preferably able to be picked up in store.
No meets planned in the immediate future that I was going to, but if someone comes up with a pretty awesome one maybe I'll make a four hour drive to it as long as it's on a weekend >_> FurFright is a definite go with probably leaving Thursday to get there and staying late as I can Sunday. Will be nice to see some of you guys there again obviously.
Finally, Gonna start once again slowly working on Artwork. Got something I promised
and need to get to work on. gonna attempt it completely digitally so we'll see how that works. If it starts becoming crap real quick, going to go traditional start with digital finish. Nothing immediate planned for Stories, but I am planning on partaking in NaNoWriMo this year and working on very basic stuff for it (Characters nailed down, basic plot, etc) so I can plow through it come November and hopefully actually stay on track.
All for now. Till next time

Post-Irene assessment, Powerhouse Upgrade, and FurFright
Posted 14 years agoTalked with the Parental units Sunday afternoon after the worst of Irene. Nothing done damage wise, just some rattled windows and shaken trees. Lucky, considering the placement of my house and how many trees are around it. Didn't even lose power as far as I know.
Gonna upgrade my Desktop with the first step towards becoming a beast by replacing the NVIDIA Geforce 6150SE nForce 430 with a MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II GeForce GTX 560 Ti. Powerhouse upgrade what now? :D It'll set me back about $250, but it'll make TF2 look GORGEOUS on top of actually being playable.
Room is almost situated completely. Just waiting on pins needed to bunk our beds together so that we can open a large amount of space. Thinking maybe a couch or something.
FurFright is 100% Go as of right now. Check for money came in yesterday. Gonna budget myself for the Graphics card purchase and FurFright expenditures. Everything else will be put into CDs to mature and keep as emergency funds. But yes, Furfright is a go. I have a room situation and once I can has the money NOT be on hold I can purchase my registration for FurFright.
All for now.

Posted 14 years agoPretty much all settled in at the moment. Just kinda got alot of stuff I still need to unpack over time. Once my Roomie and I have our beds bunked, we'll have a ton of more space to do stuff and have fun like gaming or something.
Not much else to say. Classes start tomorrow.

[Rant Warning] The 'Mate' Thing
Posted 14 years agoAs my Twitter followers could see earlier this day, I was going antsy and Stir Crazy. Yet it didn't occur to me that if I had been that Antsy and Stir Crazy, I'd have simply hopped in my car or on the train and gone somewhere for the day and just kinda wandered. No telling where, just would have. The odd factor was that I wanted someone to wander with me, or basically to just do something WITH someone. Didn't really care who, but I did have my preferences of what (Based on who I knew best and such). Eventually I got to hang with my friend Rissa (A non-fur but Furry friendly) and hung at her house for a bit before getting something to eat in Fields Corner, then returned to her house and made her at least start on an application for Gamestop so she can at least get a job since she doesn't quite have to worry about College.
It was while hanging with her in her room that I realized I wasn't quite going Stir Crazy... I was lonely. I didn't vocalize it, but It hit me. We were watching something on her computer, cuddling a little (In a friend way mind you, aka I was laying on her legs basically) and I realized that I was just lazy and wanted someone to hang with, to cuddle with. That was where my preferences had hit. I wanted some small form of affection.
I am single. I'm not outwardly looking for a mate. Heck, I don't really look at all. I kinda just wait and see what I find in a friendship first, then decide if it'd be worth it to risk friendship for mateship. At the same time though my little paranoid cougar in the back of my head kinda kicks in and makes me fearful of risking it at all. I'd LIKE a mate, but I don't know that I absolutely need one.
The thing is, if I did have a mate, it'd probably just be a bunch of cuddling. Yes, I could cuddle with friends, but I can't always hang with friends and I'm not friendly enough with any friends near me that I can be cuddly on purpose without seeming awkward. I know almost certainly now that I don't need a mate for sex, and that waiting on a mate for such is kinda useless, but having a mate for being able to just hold when I need to hold someone, be held when I want to be held, and sleep together at night with a smile would be great.
I dunno. Like said, not looking for a mate per se, just needing to get something off my chest. I see tons of furs who desire mates so bad they hop on the first one they can, but damn does it suck to actually be smart about a relationship. :/

Fun little day in Billerica
Posted 14 years agoSo after jump starting my car after getting up today I headed to Billerica to go to Kelly's BBQ meet, eventually arriving at around 12:30 after I took rt. 28 into Reading for some unknown reason and then nearly having my GPS tell me to drive off a bridge that was closed. But ANYWAY, made it. Met up there with Eecho and Al (I THINK that was the name I caught between Eecho and Kelly calling him that...), who were moving stuff inside because it was kinda rainy. We sat around inside for a few before Kelly arrived with Liko after getting supplies for the BBQ, to which we then sat outside as it had cleared. Traysandor Eventually showed up then and we basically had some burgers, dogs, and Marshmallows, the first two Al cooked.
Pretty much the whole day we hung out at Kelly's. For a period of time during slightly nastier rain we watched the first half of this movie on Netflicks called "This Film is Not Yet Rated" which was pretty good. Wish I coulda seen the rest but eh, will just remember it for another time, such as if I ever get Netflicks myself. We sat outside again once the weather cleared, ate marshmallows, and just joked and talked. We all left at about 6'oclock then, where I had to once more Jumpstart my car. Then drove to my Friend Rissa's house in Milton, hung with her for a few, and then once more jumpstarted my car and headed home.
All in all a fun day. Had some good laughs and stuff. Also considered getting a fortune reading from Eecho but had no money to pay, and didn't feel comfortable owing him artwork in repayment when my art is crappy and I probably would have not known what to draw or have gotten way too lazy. But yeah. Tomorrow I go with my friend Rissa to an Autoparts store to hopefully buy a new battery with some money my mom is giving me, and then me and her will be having a fun time of hopefully putting a new battery into my Trailblazer so it will be able to run without needing a jump start.
Till next time

The Monstah's Loose
Posted 14 years agoShe's baaaaaaack. Yep. Picked up my car from the electrical place. nearly everything was fixed from what was apparently a burnt out wire ($150 later...). She's running great and I'll be using the Monstah to travel from now on, but don't know if I'll be taking it to Maine yet.
Right now only issues with it are that the battery is kinda dead (Having it run so the Alternator can charge it fixes that though) and that the car seems to be kinda stuck in 4 Wheel Drive. This is evidenced by it using just a little more gas than normal, harder steering, and the fact that I have to put a lot more pressure on the gas pedal to make the pedal actually move.
I might see about checking that before Maine if I can, but it's fit to drive and I'll be taking it to places to get the battery charged up. But yeah, it's fixed. The Blue Monstah is back in action.

Last Boston Luncheon of the Summer
Posted 14 years agoYep, last one of the Summer. Repeat: SUMMER. Next month I will be in Maine and only be popping into the Luncheons if I'm already home that weekend for something. Larger meets, if I feel they are worth the trek, I will be going to.
Anyway, had fun. Got a Panini. Not as good as the last time I had a panini. Still good though. Sat at a table with
Kinielcat
Azban
backlash
azureflame and her mate (Who's name I didn't catch). Also sat and talked for a little with
hyperfalcon
lonewolf666 and
nahanideer when they invaded our #twittertable.
Anyway, not much else to report. Also talked with
dalesql and
Kekron, and a whole shitload of other furs who's name I honestly will probably not remember. X_X Oh, also saw
green.hunter.kelly and
mizuhironeko, of which Kell was planning on having an after meet at her house again. Couldnt go this time, since it means I wouldn't be able to probably travel to her BBQ tuesday and then meet up with Kin Thursday.
Yeah, not much else left. Two more weeks and I'll be in college if that final loan goes through, which it should. If it doesn't... well I might disappear from the internet for a while out of sheer depression, but it's looking good.
All for now.

EDIT: Forgot! Also talked a little with
daniskunk! Not a lot, but a little. And
curiousfox and

College, Cars, Meets, and Ebay
Posted 14 years agoMostly this journal is to just kinda get that long ass Minigolf journal off my page, but also just to give some small updates to those who care to read my journals.
Anyway, Little over two weeks left before I make my way back up to Maine. There is still some concern that I might not make it back to college, but that's only because my mom doesn't seem to like to communicate with me anymore on things that, yanno, concern my immediate and long term future. I'm going to talk with her tomorrow or Saturday about it though, just to make sure it's certain and we don't have a repeat of my freshman year, where I had a full car packed, but didn't know I could move in until the day I was supposed to. Rushing and forgetting a bunch of shit like PILLOWS sucks let me tell ya.
Not sure the situation on my own car. Those who have seen me at Meets have probably seen me driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Not my car. Tis my mom's. I WISH it was mine, but at the same time don't. Somehow my Trailblazer gets better gas mileage O.o Anyway, Took the Blue Monstah (My Trailblazer) in to an Electronics specialist today and dropped it off. $75 to get a diagnostics, and hopefully the charge won't come to more than $500 whatever it is. Thankfully I'm not the one paying for it. My mother's Boyfriend is graciously lending his Credit card to fix the Monstah. Why he limits at $500 when he has a $20,000 is beyond me though, but I'm crossing my fingers that it's less than that. Having two cars to transport my shit is a lot easier than just using my mom's Jeep. Also I miss driving the Monstah.
Going to be going to the Sunday Luncheon this weekend. Will be my last Luncheon of the year unless I happen to be home on some sort of vacation during the weekend it's on. After that, will be going to Kelly's BBQ on Tuesday, and may or may not be hanging out with Kiniel on Thursday. was going to hang out with him Tuesday but since Kelly's meet fell on Tuesday we had to switch dates, and still don't know 100% if we're hanging out or not, but according to him, it's a "Probably Very Likely". We'll see.
On a final note, by suggestion of Dinfleetpaw along with some coaching, have started putting some of my grandmother's old collectable decorations on Ebay. Started with two very basic things, but chances are it won't be long before I attempt to rid this house of the god damn Thomas Kinkaide houses she has all over the place, if the first two things sell that is.
All for now. More later maybe!

Minigolf Meet - SUCCESS!
Posted 14 years agoWith an Afterparty too boot.
So it kinda sucked at first, but that was only because after following the suggestion of Traysandor and taking 28 North for a good bit, I hoped on 93 North anyway and managed to get stuck in a Parking lot around Tweksbury because people know not how to Merge. EVENTUALLY made it, an hour after I wanted to (Meet was for noon, I planed to get there at 11:30), and found the rest of the Fuzzbutts under a tent, minus Blarion and Kin and Lonewolf I think, but eventually they came back from the front.
So anyway, since Kin failed and figureing out how to herd a large group of people, I basically said "TO MINIGOLF!" and led some fuzzbutts to minigolf. Split into teams of Six or so, then went off. myself, Kin, Kavi, Nexus, Traysandor, and Wolfcoin/Helix took the Waterfall course, where Kavi and Tray tied for First and I got second (Kin and Nexus coming last :P). Post Minigolf we got Ice Cream, which it IS amazing, and I DID eat ALL of my large, along with Kavi, who I #lyxbrofisted for also getting a large.
After that, a good chunk of us went to the 99 Down the road and got some food (Because food at Kimball's is expensive), where we got food and ate. And talked. And then Blarion and Lone had to split so we all kinda started splitting. But! The fun was not over, as Green.Hunter.Kelly presented an after meet get together at her house in Billrica. Wasn't sure if I'd be able to go, especially after talking to Kin after about an hour in the 99 Restaurant Parking Lot, where apparently he is uncomfortable about talking stuff to me one on one in Public but is apparently perfectly fine with IMs, which I kinda wonder WTF is up with that but whatever. So after we finally depart I decide "Why the hell Not?" and head to Kell's for the after meet get together. I arrive after a few others, hanging out with like Liko and Nahani and Dale and Wolfcoin and Neko and such. Had an awesome time then and left at like... 8:30 ish? Maybe? I dunno. Got home at 9 and now making this journal.
So yeah, meet was a complete success. Never even had any rain! Hope it happens again, but it'll suck if it Happens while I'm in College V_V

Minigolf Meet - Last Minute Update
Posted 14 years agoJust letting you all know as I sit here and check stuff that Doppler looks good. Seems all the Weather may have headed south. Thanks to Panzier for the update on that part, so Minigolfing should still be the main option! There is still the backup just in case though.
MiniGolf Meet - FINAL UPDATE (hopefully)

MiniGolf Meet - Weather Plans [READ IF YOU PLANNED ON GOIN]
Posted 14 years ago[Kin's Journal:]
So, as mother nature continues to hate me this summer...
The reports for tomorrow are looking increasingly grim for tomorrow because of course the only rainy day has to be the one where I got a lot of people together for a meet.
Anyway, the chances of Kimball's being a go for tomorrow are getting slimmer by the second, so we have a couple of options:
1. Find an alternate venue for omorrow. I feel like this is harder for obvious reasons. Plus it would have to be indoors. There are plenty of indoor minigolf places, but I don't know how much of the appeal was Kimball's specifically.
2. Reschedule. Next Saturday works? It's pretty much the only other day that works for me anyhow. That would be the day before the 99 lunch.
Let me know what you think. Annoyingly, I am going to be unavailable until later tonight (either 10 or maybe not until after midnight). I'm putting border-walker border-walker in charge of this thread.
Sorry about all this :<

My Reply:
That's right. I'm in Charge. >:D
In seriousness though, weather looks more and more Grim based on what I keep looking at. Originally bad weather was supposed to be over in the morning and then nice for the rest of the day, but seems Mother Nature decided to whip up a Thunderstorm possibility. No worries, I've already Cunt-punched the bitch, but new venues or dates are what is the best option. I'll be Copy/Pasting this to my journal as well, but anyone who has a suggestion, be it a new venue or date, please do so. Next Sunday is out because both me and Kin (or at least I know I will) be attending the Regular Boston 99 meet, But Saturday is a possibility. Looking at Ten day forecasts, It's predicted for it to be Partly Cloudy, with Thunderstorms that Sunday (Which means possibility of that date being thrown out by Mother Nature's Revenge).
Now I myself am not afraid of getting a little wet like some Cats are, but of course this meet is more about the rest of you. Kin and Me are obviously not sure if the place would close because of weather or not. They do have other options other than Minigolf, but those options are limited to Arcade and Ice Cream. And Ice Cream in rain... not so fun I would imagine for some. I myself will be looking for other Venues, and while there is one in the Natick mall, I can say for certain that it's just a little sketchy and kinda poor compared to what could be.
I've also been alerted by
that he'll be away again from the 14th to the 21st, and seeing as he was one of the co-planners, it'd suck if he couldn't come.
It's up to you guys though in the long run. Forecasts for tomorrow predicts Thunderstorms to start by 3PM, with rain happening before then. 60% chance precip entire day. It's your choice. Enjoy a sport of Thundergolf, find a new location, or a new date. If desperate, I imagine this could probably be pushed back up to a month, but then that gets iffy, what with Colleges and stuff (I myself will be in Maine and would have to travel four hours south, though would be willing for this at least).
It's your choices. Post your suggestions on Kin's Journal or Mine. I'll be checking both. Also feel free to contact me via IMs or Twitter. Info should be on my page.
-Border Da Rain Soaked Cougah
PS: IT IS NOT CANCELLED YET. Any New Englander can tell you that Massachusetts and all of new England Weather can switch on a dime. These are plans for a "Just In Case" Scenerio. Kin will NOT post a Cancel journal until later tonight if he does. Probably 11 or Midnight ish.

Money in, Money out
Posted 14 years agoSo today was the second in two days I had to travel into Boston for part of a Medical study that I'm getting paid to partake in. $50 is the money I received for wearing a 24hr Blood pressure Monitor Yesterday and today.
Well, soon as that $50 came into my hand, it soon left. Not on anything stupid mind you, a useful two purchases (Though thinking back, could have easily probably spent less money by buying food at a McD's or something instead of the Subway I got). I needed new shoes, and that was a priority. I knew the boots I wanted 9Hiking boots) were $39.95, but seeing that money come into my hand then then leave it almost as easily... it's a little discontenting.
I dunno. Just more minor money woes. Having new shoes is nice, and hopefully these will last the next two years like my old ones did. Also still might use a little extra money, but this means I'll have to ask my mom for more money she can't really give away so I can at least be social :/
Four weeks till I return to Maine (Hopefully, cross your fingers for that last loan to go through!). Gotta call or message the roommate about what to bring for college, and figure out how to pack a single car with what I need, seeing as my own car's electrical system is gone. Will be attending the meet at Kimball this weekend, and possibly the Cambridge 99 Meet the weekend after, pending access of money. After that I'm in Maine and pretty much non-social outside the Internets, but I might still pop into Mass or even NH for some stuff.
Also, as far as the Books go, so far "Wizard of Earthsea" has been the one to win, so that's my next book if no more votes come in by the end of the week (See previous Journal). Still looking into possible new books to buy though. I want something where Werewolves are the central figure, either as a protagonist or antagonist. Non Romance. Found a few story collections, but nothing of a single story.
Anyway, all for now.

Help me choose my Next book!
Posted 14 years agoSo I recently finished my latest reading venture much earlier then anticipated. Three days instead of three weeks like I thought. Since it's so early, I figured I'd get some help in choosing my next book to read. Typically I read a chapter or two a night before bed, and maybe some if I'm in a waiting room or something.
Now I don't have much for options I'm interested in Reading right now. Everything I WANT to read I don't own. But out of the books I have, I want people's opinions. You might not have read them yourself, but if you have, input would be welcome.
Here are the six books I'm looking towards:
1) Robert B. Parker's "Early Autumn"
2) Stephen King's "Drawing Of The Three [Book II in The Dark Tower]"
3) James Patterson's "Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment"
4) P.F. Kluge's "Eddie & The Cruisers"
5) Ursula K. Le Guin's "A Wizard Of Earthsea"
6) Douglas Adam's "The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe"
You can comment on them if you want as well, but let it be known that these are not my ONLY options. As I will be coming into money this Wednesday, I can purchase new book(s). This is where I get to ask YOUR recommendation. If you don't like or know any of my choices, give me your own!
Here's a short summary on books I've read and Liked:
Latest series finished was Segei Lukyanenko's Night Watch Series, with the book "Last Watch" being the last I just read. This has quickly become one of my new favorite books series for the Modern take on Classic horror, something I rarely get to read. Stephen King is Obviously one of my more prolific favorite Authors, but reading the same Author over and Over can get eh. Favorites I've read from him include "Salem's Lot", "Christine", "Firestarter" and "It". I've read Lev Grossman's "The Magicians", Which I personally felt was awesome, up till the whole final world, which felt like a Narnia cop out to me. Nevertheless, did enjoy it. One oddball book I enjoyed was "The Town" (Originally Titled Prince Of Thieves) by Chuck Hogan, and enjoyed alot, appealing to my crime drama side. Also been suggested the Nightside Books, and have read the first, but do not own it.
I've been interested in any Novel involving the classic Vampire/Werewolf type Mythos. I do want to one day Read Dracula and Frankenstein, but not sure if now. Anne Rice has been one author I've been suggested as well, but have yet to actually read the novels. Truthfully, I want to read something with a Main Protagonist or someone close to said Protagonist being a Werewolf. Call it me being my inner furry, but I want a book with a big focus on Lycanthropy, preferably the main character suffering with it or something. My favorites are obviously taking the classic fantasy mythos and making them Modern or even Sci-Fi like. Sci-Fi horror type would be one I would enjoy a lot actually, and I bet I would really enjoy Jules Verne for Steam and Diesel Punk.
So yes. Suggest! Feel free to suggest one of the six and then a book I should look into buying! Will take as many suggestions as you wish to give! Always looking for something new.
