Know what I just did?
Posted 14 years agoWent through my notes and deleted the old notes.
Which is something I do every other week or so. Since I've BEEN here.
Because I'm SMRT, and don't keep notes with Sensitive info.
So hacking or no, once again nothing changes with me.

So the issue with Cub porn...
Posted 15 years agoI'm with 2 and a good few others on this ruling. I don't like it for why it was done. I see the need, as Financially, according to this Dragoneer quote:
"Firstly, let us explain the situation: AlertPay dropped us. We have been having issues accepting payment processors for some time to fund the website, as any reputable company we've contacted has given us the thumbs down when it comes to our content. Specifically, they have only ever had issue with one particular kind of content: cub art. Everything else has been fine, but companies want to distance themselves from that grey area because it makes people uncomfortable.
AlertPay canceled, and specifically cited cub art as the reason. We were given no options to appeal. With that cancellation, a fairly sizable amount of money in our balance from ads and donations have been lost, which has effectively crippled the website from having ways to fund itself long term. We will not be able to maintain and improve without a reliable payment processor at our backend, and that can not happen while they continually have a disagreement regarding certain specifics with what we host."
it's important that the site be able to run without worrying about money. However, I'm still with 2 in the reasoning of why cubporn was strangely cited. If Cub porn = Child porn, then feral porn = Beastiality, Murder = Murder, and Vore = Cannibalism. I've favorited my fair share of cub porn. Usually cause I found it well drawn and pleasing to the eye. Same deal with some of the Vore and Feral stuff. I utterly hate feral porn, yet I favorite ones that are pleasing because they are well drawn.
If your gonna remove one thing because it's illegal in your host country, then remove all that is illegal I say. Money and the site comes first, and there is always sofurry and Inkbunny, but damn if it aint gonna be annoying to see alot of artists I like probably leave FA because of this rule. Only good thing probably was that Wolfblade, whos art I love, has almost already completely moved to Inkbunny.
Speaking of which, god, can't wait till he gets wind of this. Rant city ahoy :D

Been plotting a comic...
Posted 15 years agoand I like it so far. Got the cover and first page sketched out in quasi thumbnail sketches (I say Quasi, as it's in a small sketchpad smaller than actual comic size before it gets transferred in larger to Bristol Board). It's part of the Guardian's Universe as soon as my character is approved, and plan to release each issue as my new character grows. With any luck, it'll build up my drawing and story writing capabilities.

Day 4
Posted 15 years agoThe Wind-down.
Nothing much to report today, seeing as I am unable to stay the full time (Class I'm willing to miss. Work-study after? NO. Money is good!). I am writing this pretty much before I pack up and leave, then heading out to Maine and returning to my normal college life. It's been fun, it's been laughs, and here's hoping I do get to see some familiar faces once or twice, be them at another con, or a furmeet, or even just walking down the street.
Woke up at 10:00 instead of nine due to Rocky Horror, which was hella fun. Got dressed as Professor Robert Katt, then wandered the halls looking out for strangeness to experiment. I mostly kept quite and just looked intrigued, as I need to work on his personality more, but eventually ended up at the Fursuit games, where I FINALLY ran into fellow Jack Forumite Soggyotter (Who, if he has an FA, I certainly can't find it), who was kind enough to give me a taping from Hopkin's AC 08 panel "Furries in heaven & Hell. I held back a big squee and will probably geek out later when I watch it back home.
Watched the fursuit games for an hour or so before going to the (Very small) Making Comics panel run by Skyfire. Was interesting. Didn't pick up much else other than the Greek philosophy I had somehow not learned before. Wandered around a bit again before returning for the "Making Monsters with SCIENCE!" panel run by Bleis, which was quite awesome and informative, allowing me to add some small tricks for any mad scientists characters I have.
And now the time has come. As much as I'd like to stay for the Closing Ceremonies, arriving in Maine at midnight for an 8 AM class and then 9 AM work is not a smart idea by the least. So I bid farewell to those I met at FurFright '10, my first official Fur Con, and a time I was glad to experience. Should funds (And lack of POSSIBLE Internship) permit, I might look to AC, but don't count your chickens. Next year's FurFright is a much greater possibility, and even that's more of a "If the funds allow" type deal.
This is Border Walker, signing out.

Day 3
Posted 15 years agoOnce again a day has nearly come to a conclusion.
So today was much more interesting and run-around type day. Started with taking a shower and stealing some cereal for breakfast from the people watching Saturday Morning Cartoons (Mmm.... Honey nut cheerios....), then onto the panel labeled "Furst time to a Fur Con". Yes, I groaned at the panel name myself. Was helpful and informative in a way though, even if some stuff (6-2-1) I have heard before.
Then came Science Fiction world Building. DAMN. That was not what I completely expected, but did help a good bit and gave me an idea for a Dead-Space esque furry story with a little Pitch Black mixed in.
Lunch break where I picked up my badge and got some McD's (And a Lynx Plush. Is cute and fits perfectly to stick out my bag), came "Writing Furry Fiction, a panel I desperatly made sure I went to. Was quick and too the point and run by
, who's book was recently published. Also gave me a chance to ask about genre's that were kinda... "Untapped" in the furry market from a PG standpoint. My suspense/Thriller, Mystery, and Darkfantasy/Horror will Spark new LIFE! I hope.
After that, with not much to do, went to the Emotion in artwork panel, run by
, and learned a good bit about how to properly convey an emotion in a piece and such. Afterwards, went to
's panel on Vintage furs, which was supposed to be more of an informal social thing, and turned into that when
's husband Shane, myself,
and... Shoot. Already forget her name. Skippy or something. ARGH! I hate my memory. ANYWHO, we went and continued the chat and basically talked about whatever, and here I am now. Last thing tonight is the Rocky Horror Picture Show (WOULDN'T MISS IT FOR THE WORLD) and then bed. Tomorrow is the last day, and then we'll see if I get PCD, or my friends find out the web of lies I spun to avoid saying I'm skipping out on going to D&D in favor of Furfright.

Day 2
Posted 15 years agoNow this feels more like a con. A.. smaller con, but a con.
So I woke up relatively early. Like 9, and opening ceremonies wasn't till 11. With two hours to kill, went outside for fresh air, and ended up meeting Dr. Shot, also known as Patches (Don't know if he has an FA) And ended up talking with him and a few other furs. Two were knew to the con. One became the Attendee guest of Honor.
Later ran into
and
outside opening ceremonies, and checked to make sure Rusty wasn't causing any mischief. When on to what seemed to be a pretty informal panel about Werewolves of the Modern era, then had a HUGE timeblock to kill until the next panel at 6:30. So I browsed the dealers Dungeon. I now own a copy of Grandville, Cliff 1&2, and Screaming Barrel. I also have a badge being worked on by
, one of my more favorite artists and an artist who kinda lead me to the furry fandom (After
). Also ended up seeing
and
, which was a big bonus.
So, panel at 6:30 comes around after much discussion with Dr. Shots and pals again, and then I go to the panel run by
on historical clothing. Pretty damn interesting that one was. Afterwards was a panel on writing the book on Furs, a panel run by someone who is trying to write a non-fiction book on furs and what they are from his perspective, without skimping over the sex part and actually bringing it to life.
Got my self some food after calling back
and then hunted for a gas station and almost feared I was gonna be stuck lost in Connecticut with no gas. Thankfully found something and filled my tank. Cost me almost fifty bucks, draining most money I had left (Unless my workstudy has gone in), and then came back to relax. Think I -MIGHT- have seen
, but it was a passing glance and didn't catch their badge. Also think I might have seen
, but also wasn't sure. Not good with faces.
There was, also, an... accident that happened at the con on the main road. I won't go into details, but it was frightening. Damn frightening.
Sleep now. More tomorrow.

Day 1
Posted 15 years agoSo don't think I'll be doing these each day, but I have nothing to do at the moment but wait for a good time to fall asleep before waking up for Opening Ceremonies tomorrow.
Anywho, started out interesting. 4 1/2 hours driving later (Including Lowell traffic. Guh, knew I'd hit it), and I'm at Furfright. Or, at least, the hotel. I pull in and, of course, first thing I see is a crowd of people, with some in Fursuit.
Day got interesting from there, as the check-in gave me the wrong room number for my card, and had assigned me 498 instead of 298 by accident (Hint to furs I know who are here: 298 is indeed my room. Find me if you want). So after going down and getting the right card, I check out my room, then go to grab my stuff to bring it in.
And low and behold, I leave the lobby, only to hear "I RECOGNIZE SOMEONE!" from a voice I had grown to know relatively well. Turned out a LARPer I know from NERO Hartford, didn't just have a name "Wolfe" because it was cool sounding. Well quite the shocker to see him. Found out he's rooming with
, who I know from the Boston Furbowl over the summer. Two I already know and recognize.
Later, found out the pre-reg line was... well... Longish (I survived Linecon '09 at AnimeBoston, so this was NOTHING), and was right infront of
, whom I THOUGHT I recognized but wasn't sure until I pulled out my phone and FA'd her badge name. She's nice enough.
Anyway, night was realtivly boring after that. Scheduled the events and panels I'd attend on my phone, got some food at McD's down the street. (They ask you to walk in the crosswalk. There is no crosswalk to cross those exit roads) Then went to leave my room, only to get Locked out! and it took them almost an hour to get it to work. Teach me to leave my card in my room again.
Anywho, gonna do some stuff to entertain myself before sleeping. Tomorrow starts the festivities at 11, and I've still yet to see
or other artists like Hush to meet. Perhaps... I might even get a badge.

You look pissed off out of suit can I come up to you?
If I look pissed off, approach with caution. I have varying levels.

Generally. I have a habit of speaking before I think, but for a good reason (Slow processing speed), so I might say stupid things. Doesn't mean I'm not nice though.

Win a Picture from Me: Details
Posted 15 years agoSo my latest Submission, Man in the Mirror, Features Weasel in a costume for Halloween. I've not left any clues as to what he may be dressed as, but it's your job to figure out who he's dressed as. On Halloween night, I will announce who he is and the winners.
Please post all suggestions on the Picture itself.
What you will win:
A fully digital Picture with Background, Shading, and Highlights, akin to the one I submitted and also The Aftermath.
Option for 1-2 Characters, be it your own or Mine
Subject of YOUR choosing. I will draw anything besides blatant Yiff, but have no qualms with Tasteful Nudity or suggestive material.
FULL SIZE VERSION WHEN COMPLETED. I work at Ridiculous Resolutions, and I do like alot of details.
By Wednesday of Next Week, if no one has correctly guessed or come close, then I will give hints. I will alert you to being correct or incorrect through PMs, so as to not spoil the surprise, and you have no limit on how many times you may guess.

Livestream, Watchtail, and Ustream access
Posted 15 years agoSo, I've known since last year that I couldn't access any shows on Ustream through my schools network (Correction: Could watch the show, but not take part in discussions), but it seems that Livestream I am able to, or that the school's network has changed slightly. This makes me happy, as I do like watching some artists work.
Have yet to try Watchtail (Annoying Viewer limit is annoying, esspecially when the artist you tend to watch is
wolfblade and he gets filled in seconds), and I'm wondering if Ustream has been altered.
This makes me want to test alot of other things. I know City of Heroes still doesn't work... but I wonder about SL and others...
EDIT: Okay, so I can watch and partake, but skipping and disconnecting is annoying. Thank you retarded school netwonk.

Week of 10/10/10 "Home For the Weekend"
Posted 15 years agoAs the title suggests, I'm home for the weekend, and posting this early to show. Columbus day Weekend gives me a four day weekend, from Sat to Tues. Hopefully this weekend home gives my body the time to recharge and kick the lingering symptoms of this sickness before Alice Cooper, the LARP, or FurFright. We'll see.
Anywho, Been listening to alot of
unsheathed, and I kept hearing about the FBA through it. Doesn't help that
JTigerClaw has been on an FBA art binge to create as much as possible before the draft ends. Kinda rekindled my memory to back when I played a PF in Middle school, and remembering that I haven't touched a Basketball in ages since then. Kinda sucks that half the reason I fell out of Basketball back in the day was because of my coach playing favorites with his son.
Anywho, nothing much has happened of note, so otherwise, keep the peace!
-Border "Park Place" Walker out.

Week of 10/3/10 *COUGH HACK WHEEZE*
Posted 15 years agoSo you know how every college has that funk that goes around every year? Tends to be mild but can often cause Finals to be forced to be rescheduled because the entire school falls into a Quarantine? Yeah. I have it. Was bed ridden all day yesterday sniffling and coughing. Today I've got major respiratory problems that make it extremely hard to breathe, to the point that I was told by my supervisor at work to head home. Bought OJ and Vicks up the wazoo though, so hopefully will have some of this die out. Also, Nyquil is a godsend.

Week of 9/26/10
Posted 15 years agoJust gonna move these to Monday. Something always seems to come up on Sundays, and I can talk about my very interesting Monday class.
So last week was interesting. Kinda strange, but interesting nonetheless. Most of it was occupied by creating a major mess I got to clean up and reorganize at the end of the week, and now I have a nice fancy and neat room. I love cleaning so much.
Anywho, not sure what to think still of my Wildlife techniques class. The class itself is... Well it's not quite fun getting up at 6 for breakfast at 7 and class at 8, especially when the class is NOT a good morning class. I still love the lab though, as it's fun doing all the stuff we get to do, even if I almost got three different traps to snap on my thumb (Which I'll probably never encounter in Mass, seeing as Mass has a very strict no-trapping law. Hell, if I do encounter them, instant arrest). Still need to go out and do some Telemetry of radio collars out in the area, and I need to talk to the teacher just before the weekend about doing that. Hopefully won't be too hard.
Though, one thing I do like about the class? The random shit the teacher sometimes brings in. Like today, he brought in a dead Bald Eagle. I shit you not. She was dead as a doorknob and still bleeding (And smelling, though that might have been the kid next to me.) That was pretty awesome, and included a parade of Camera phones going up to take pictures minus one student: Myself. Lawl.
American Democracy... god, love the teacher, love the class, hate the homework. Annoyingly hard. Great 8 AM class though. The people in it aren't too bad either. Just gotta remember NOT to take a class with the teacher unless I have homework time in the week.
Fundamental Drawing... where to begin. This class I love cause it is helping me alot. I still have a hard time understanding light and shadows (And actually seeing the various shades), and I want to murder every human skull in the classroom, but it's interesting. I'll be sneezing black for a few weeks thanks to the charcoal, but the class itself is great. Not so much looking forward to drawing one of my friends in the nude, If only because I see him every day since I live and work with him, but whateves.
College Comp is College comp. Typical course, though I enjoy the teacher. We also get to do a research paper on a topic of our choosing. Any topic. I'm very open for ideas people. Otherwise I'm just taking this because all the awesome writing classes require it.
Interpretation is a class that I'm glad I'm taking, as it helps with my Stage fright and mind's ability to wipe everything I wanted to say clean. learning various techniques to help. The teacher's also great. Got a 10 minute field walk I'll be doing with this chick on Spiders and why they're necessary (And how our fear might cause they're extinction.)
This weekend was also MOFGA, also known as Common Ground fair to the Mainers. thought about going but stayed back to work on stuff. Got a picture I'm almost done with, just got to Ink and color, hopefully before the end of the month.

Week of 9/19/10 "How To Molest A Duck"
Posted 15 years agoYes, posted a day late, but with good reason
Cottage has all but been cleaned, And me and the other male in the cottage plan to purchase a router for the cabin, seeing as we lack internet even though we pay for it (I'm actually getting it in my room in ONE spot where my desk is, but anywhere else and it's out). Otherwise been pretty good, with random episodes of 'Whuuuuut?' when I open the door only to see the cabin couple openly groping each other. Still, our lives would be a sitcom for sure. "When a Con law Anti-stereotype, D&D gamer, his broadway obsessed girlfriend, and a Trekkie/Joss Whedon Fan-girl get together..."
Also, I now love my Wildlife Techniques teacher. Others are shocked I hadn't loved him before, but that's because I've never had a lab with him before. His sense of humor, while brash, is just my style, and he knows the absolute best ways to make an entire class of serious Conservation law majors and Wildlife Care and Ed majors to break down into giggle fits. The title is one he used itself to teach us to sex a duck internally when one is absolutely unsure of the exterior, and how to age a male duck.
Slow week otherwise afterwards. My Star Wars RPG group merged in with the Create your Own/Time Travel RPG group in RPG club since both lost alot of members, and it has proved interesting so far. I love locking a Hobbit in a broken down kitchen on Taris with three Rakghouls. The saturday D&D game almost saw the end of the party as we have no healer or spellcaster, making it very hard to hit skeletons and zombies with piercing weapons. I'm hell bent on having my ranger die and just creating a Cleric, unless we hit level 4 and I finally get some spells.
Sunday however was the day to look forward to. Went with some friends to see Alpha & Omega, which while mostly cliche in alot of aspects, actually held some cute and funny moments. Spoilers to follow.
The idea of the two wolf packs fighting over lost caribou was interesting, and the need for Kate to marry the son of the Eastern wolf Pack, Garth, while a little cliche, funny, seeing as Garth could not Howl for the life of him. Kate and Humphry's trip back was kinda meh for the most part, with the conflict back home after Kate is taken by humans the more interesting aspect. I also did like the parallel of Garth falling in love with Lily to Kate falling in love with Humphry.
Humphry showing how good of a howler he is was pretty good, and the howling was done interestingly, but strange. It then really got cliche when the whole "Underdog gets the Noble girl" turned more into an "Underdog THINKS he has the girl but doesn't, Underdog leaves, then conflict causes the Underdog TO get the girl".
Though, the two Pack Alphas getting caught in a stampede, and Humphry needing to rescue them, only to have Kate who helped get hit and thought dead by some caribou, was pretty intense and WELL done. It actually seemed like Kate was dead, and honestly, I would have liked it to be left there, with the packs uniting in her honor, and Humphry living the lone wolf life, or reverse rolls and have Humphry get hurt, Kate mourn him, then Kate have some pups later in her life and name one Humphry, but never reveal who the father is.
But, being the kids movie it is, Kate was alive, it got Highly cliche, and then everything worked for the better. Cut short when Humphry and Kate howled though.
Overall not bad. Side plot of the pack conflict is more entertaining than Kate and Humphry's adventure, and Kate's mom is Badass, and the ending was a cliche train, but worked well and I'd recommend a see in 2-D. Do not splurge for 3-D as it's useless.
All For now. Over and Out.

Rate my.... Characters?
Posted 15 years agoSince I've recently gone through a change in Fursona and so far only two images exist of him (The Profile pic and a Sketch by Temiree), I'm allowing for ratings on any of my characters that you know, be them in my gallery, or ones you remember from fuckload back. Just specify who first. Or, for those who know me real well, you can rate what you perceive as my fursona.
1. What do you think my fursona would have a job/career in?
2. What is unique about my fursona that you enjoy?
3. What are his/her flaws?
4. What are some changes you would like to see?
5. What would you like to see my fursona doing in future pictures?
6. How old does my fursona look?
7. On a scale of 1-10, how attractive is my fursona?
8. On a scale to 1-10, how sexually attractive is my fursona?
9. On a scale to 1-10, how well does my fursona fit me?
10. If you could, how would you personally change her/him to fit me better?

Week of 9/11/10
Posted 15 years agoNo, this is not a 9/11 journal. This is a start of something I wanna try while I'm up at college, and hopefully let some people know why I seemed to have disappeared on AIM and MSN, or in general. I'm gonna try these weekly journals, partially inspired by dynamite22.
So anyway, it's the end of the second week in college now, and it's been hell. The first week we had an extra 5th person in the cabin until he left for Outward Bound (A program Adventure Ed kids are required to do) and he left a major mess that we're still cleaning. Schoolwork is annoying, especially, surprisingly, my fundamental drawing class. It takes forever to complete Homework for F. Drawing & Interpretation. But otherwise, I do enjoy most of my classes, except Wildlife Techniques. Though I enjoy it's lab.
Mondays and Fridays are my break days, with only one class each. But Friday Nights have I have RPG club (D&D and such), and on Saturday nights I play a game with some friends as well. I may be on AIM or MSN then, but if I'm not, rest assured I am alive unless otherwise stated.
Also, Birth By Sleep. Nuff said.

Ten questions I'll answer about YOU.
Posted 15 years agoDon't normally do memes, but got nothing else to report at the moment.
1. Tell you something I'll learn about you by looking at your FA page for 13 seconds.
2. Tell you which color you remind me of.
3. Tell you my first memory of you.
4. Tell you what Pokemon you remind me of.
5. Ask you something I've always wondered about you, and your answer has to be as vague as possible to keep the suspense.
6. Tell you my favorite thing about you.
7. Give you a weird nickname
8. Tell you what's on my shirt right now.
9. Challenge you to post this on your journal.
