Hey all,
Seems like everyone expects replies to come super fast. I can't do that and I'm 80% sure there's others around here who can't either. So here's my thread searching for RPers who also only reply about once a week OR would be okay with me posting once a week.
I do clean roleplays and I do semi-naughty stuff. At the moment, I'll only do pure smut if it's comedy. For the plots and settings, assume it's all clean unless otherwise specified.
I also only RP in threads. I write in 3rd person, past tense, and using paragraphs. I am extremely flexible though; I don't expect novellas every post. I tend to mirror my partner's length more often than not.
My main interests are (and they can be exclusive from one another):
- porno comedy
- urban fantasy
- light scifi
- modern
- supernatural
- tragedy
I do have pre-made characters that I tend to use (which are here and have post examples) but I can also make new ones up for roleplays as well.
Here are some settings and plot ideas, but by all means don't be limited to what is listed here.

EOWAN BOLD (NSFW / TRAGEDY)
It can be used as simply a setting or as a starting point for a plot. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The Premier kink club of the West, Eowan Bold is a multi-floor establishment. The main entrance is an unmarked sunken door at the end of an alleyway. After five steps down into the basement, you will enter the general club space with a large dance floor and lounge areas. A second entrance on the other side of the street is at street-level. This marked, theatre entrance leads to a vast open area with a stage at one side, a bar on the other, and dozens of small tables with semi-private round booths between. A gradual slope down to the stage make every seat good for the show without any trip hazards. The music here is lower in volume than the basement, and the shows provide high-brow fetish performances and exhibitions. The food isn't that bad, either.
The man who runs it all is known as Tristan, a fiery 35 year old who takes running the business seriously, but still partakes in his own sins on occasion. He keeps his club mostly legal, but he can't help it if the atmosphere attracts certain types of individuals. The club's been operating for many years now, and mostly outside the limelight of the law. But that might be due to the information Trist possesses on some high-key individuals rather than the club's moral merits.
The co-owner and partner in crime (only theoretically, of course!) is resident dominatrix Mabe. An older woman of pasty complexion and bright purple hair, she assists in administrative duties but is most often the most visible manager, frequently on the floor with the patrons and making things exciting. She's got a business/relationship with Trist, who, despite his domineering personality loves to play her sub. The two of them together can put on quite the show on stage, but rarely get the chance given the work it takes to keep things running well. While they are both serious about running their business, Mabe is the slightly more rational one, keeping her head cool under pressure and stressing about finances. Trist, on the other hand, sometimes panics and displays that through acquiring employees. Of course, they each have their own side dealings, but Trist's are a little less legal. Or are they? Part of the dom/sub relationship is trust of course, and Mabe knows better than to ask half the time.
Now if only those side gigs would stop getting themselves employed ather their club….
URBAN FANTASY
There are two cities here.
One is the as-of-yet-unnamed city where humans and all sorts of supernatural creatures live on an "equal" playing field. Other species are analogous to disenfranchised minorities. Lycans, anthropomorphic wolves who cannot transform, are similar to indigenous peoples. Werewolves, human-wolf shifters, are most analogous to trans people. I have no good write up on this setting, but there's some brain vomit here. The plot "Lycanthropic Triad" takes place in this city.
The second city is Begalf. It is similar to the above city, but more openly racist/speciesist and classist. Incredibly polluted, the city is cramped with several skyscrapers built too close to one another. They and the dense smog block out the sun. A futuristic society built on the advancement of technology in pursuit of profit, Belgalf fully encompasses and encourages planned obsolescence. The city runs on credits, a digital currency preloaded into plastic cards or microchips embedded into personal items (including body parts).
"Mechanix" (broadly, automail + Repo! Genetic Opera-like synthetic body parts and organs) are incredibly popular here, with "Tweakers" being the ones who obsessively pursue these parts out of need, vanity, or status. Mechanix can be seen as an outward display of wealth, but modifying the body in too many ways can also be seen as trashy and looked down upon. This city has a plot idea sharing its name.
HEADPHONE JACK
Headphone Jack takes place in the country of Musica, whose political party Metallica has outlawed music approximately 100 years ago through The Mute Movement.
Musica is bordered by the countries of Indie, Emo, and Headphone. Separated by The Great Wall, it is patrolled constantly to keep out musical contraband. There are whispers of an impending war between Musica, Indie, and Emo. Headphone, however, remains neutral.
Two gangs in Musica have formed - NuMetal (Nus) and Electronica (Elecs).
Nus deal mainly media (CDs, etc.) while Elecs specialize in music creation devices, such as instruments. Both gangs get their product from Headphone in operations called Jacks.
Clefs are the law enforcement of Musica. Their aim is to completely eliminate music and gang activity. Metallica has made this easy for them, as the penalty for gang affiliation and music trade is death.
It is a serious setting overrun with puns. It was originally a group RP but I'd be interested to see what a 1x1 might look like with it.

MODERN / SUPERNATURAL
Demons and supernatural creatures walk the Earth, but only "The Corrupted" can see their true forms. Due to "The Veil," both a concept and a law, Demons erect an illusion so they do not arouse suspicion.
However, when a demon and a human have a child, they are not always bound by the this law....
I've started work on a wiki for this universe. You can adhere to everything I've written down so far, or just take the concepts of the Veil and Corrupted as a launching point and go from there.
RANDOM / UNDEVELOPED
(in no particular order)
1. Something where I play a mostly post-transition trans person
2. I play an Ex-con trying to get his life back on track.
3. Something pretty religious. Or where religion plays a big role in the setting, at least. (any religion, can even be a fictitious one)
4. Porno comedy. I so very much want to do a comedy smut rp.
5. An RP inspired by The Lost Room. And/or a smut version of it (where the effects of the items are mostly sexual)
6. A weird mashup setting of The Lost Room, Warehouse 13, and Men in Black, which also somehow manages to work in R.I.P.D. and/or Repo men (or Repo! The Genetic Opera). But it's not grimdark. In fact I'd love it a lot more of it was more comedy-focused. Or at least light-hearted.
8. Buddy cop trope (they don't have to actually be cops).
9. My character communicates with sign language at least 50% of the time.
10. Modern/supernatural setting. Your character is a wizard drug dealer/night club owner who makes/sells magic drugs, my character is a demon hunter/merc/drug trafficker/tangential drug dealer who buys from you. Your character has some slow evil plot to make my character your slave through magic drug spiking... Or something. Serious/tragic, doesn't have to be smut, but can be (if there's more plot than smut). Pairs nicely with "Inner Demons" setting but doesn't have to.
URBAN FANTASY
- - LYCANTHROPIC TRIAD
A poly relationship forms between a lycan (anthro wolf), werewolf (wolf/human shifter), and a [wolf or lycan -related] therian.
I don't have a good write up on this, but there's a brain vomit version with more details here.
I'd like to play the werewolf and/or lycan. The werewolf character, Zahir, is trying to basically be human. The lycan character is proud of their heritage but is trying to deal with some feelings of jealousy (due to Zahir's ability to be human passing) and overarching issues of culture death (Lycans are analogous to indigenous peoples). My lycan is also FtM but this only ever comes up if there is sex in the rp (which is not necessary).
I can change the Lycan character or not play them, but Zahir will probably remain the same.
This can really go in several directions. It can deal with the turmoil behind all the characters' personal issues, it can sidestep that and be a romcom, it could be a slice of life... etc.
- - BEGALF
My character, Lori, is stealing money in order to buy parts from your character, who he has a somewhat longstanding relationship with (as a customer of your [automail/magical objects/rare stuff] business). YC keeps upping the cost of [Part of the day] and it's driving Lori mad. YC offers Lori a deal. If Lori will help YC steal [Thing YC really wants] YC will give Lori [Part of the day]. Originally developed for the setting of the same name, but can also take place elsewhere.

MODERN AND/OR SUPERNATURAL
- - INNER DEMONS
Using the Inner Demons setting as a springboard:
- A person (or demon hunter) is in the throes of a very slow possession of an upper level demon and enlists help of [another hunter / a "good" demon / something else]
(I can be the demon hunter or a "good" demon)
- We are Hellhounds and...
-- We're the last of our kind. One of our characters is the very last female and doesn't want to be a breeder
-- We're the last of our kind on a righteous hunt for the missing final female of our species, who wants nothing to do with us
-- Our numbers are slimming, but we're still policing the veil by killing metahumans. Until one of us has a change of heart...
-- A demon hunter learns he's part hellhound, and some demon comes around to try and recruit the hunter to their cause
- Metahuman x Hellhound love
- Demon hunter rivals (needs more than hunter vs. hunter)
- Human x Demon love
- Corrupted x person who wants to be corrupted
- Good cop goes bad (see next plot)
- There's probably more possibilities here...
- - GOOD COP GOES BAD
Your character is a good cop. Crosses their T's, dots their I's, perfect record. But something goes down that s/he can't prove, or can't stand, or for some reason knows that law won't bring it to justice. Or maybe s/he witnesses something that makes them realize being a goodie two-shoes isn't the best path for themself.
So s/he decides to hire a mercenary (my character, most likely Q) to not only get rid of the problem and/or bring it to justice, but to hopefully also teach them "how to be bad". But s/he's been a good guy their whole life. S/he doesn't really know how to be bad, and changing their whole moral code can be difficult.
No smut, but romance possible. Any gender. Can be realistic or supernatural.
- - POWERS DIVISION
Powers-based setting. Someone who used to be a superhero lost their powers and became a detective for the Powers Division, a division of the PD that deals with superpower-related crimes. I can be the detective or a someone else (villian, mentor, partner cop, etc.), doesn't matter to me. Pairs nicely with Buddy cop trope but doesn't have to.
- - SUPERNATURAL FBI
It's Dean and Cas from Supernatural, who pair up acting as FBI agents to investigate some big supernatural thing that's occurring. Except it's OCs instead of Dean and Cas. But the dynamics of Veteran vs "barely functional human(?)" remain the same. I can play either character. Inspired by this. Romance not guaranteed, smut discouraged. Can be combined with Powers Division and/or Inner Demons setting, but doesn't have to be.
PORNO COMEDIES
- - LESS THAN CLASSY CHRONONAUTS
The world has gone to shit and one of us has stolen (or invented) a time machine to make the world less shit. After careful deliberation and study, we have determined that the precise time the world went to shit was that fateful night we had our first sexy hookup. So all we have to do to make the world not shit is prevent the hookup (or some specific action during the hookup) from happening.
So, we go back in time... Only to find out... We've gone back in to just a couple seconds after the event! We will call this, EVENT 0, or E0, for short. We are now in the same room looking at our past selves fucking, and berating ourselves because how could we fuck this up?
"No matter!" one of us says. We will just go back in time again, to, you know, a couple seconds before E0, like we were originally supposed to. So we do.
Except we don't.
We have now arrived 2 seconds after our E0+1 selves have arrived to E0. Holy shit, there are now 3 current copies of us right now, and two of these copies are watching the original have sex.
There's got to be a way to fix this.

One of us has stolen or invented a time machine to go back to the night when X dumped Y because damn that X/Y's an asshole and Y/X didn't know what they were missing from X/Y!!!
(for sake of simplicity we'll just say my character obtained the time machine for the rest of this explanation, but it could be either of us)
So I've got it in my head that I just need to impress you with my best sex practices, because everybody knows you'll change your mind about somebody after a good dicking. BAZINGA

Inspired by this
This one is essentially an exercise in how to write the most outrageous, unbelievable things every time Bazinga guy goes back in time. Assume that each time he uses the time machine it is using an infinite improbability drive and has similar side effects.
We could accomplish this by rping normally (You control your own character) or by flipping it, where we each set the new setting for the other character to forcibly adapt. Alternatively, we could take turns with who decides what the next 'dimension' is like (maybe this one we're all starfish? Or maybe this one is like rl but Y gets an aneurysm right before Bazinga can stick it in!).
The main point is to make it funny and that sex never actually happens, but it gets close a few times.
NO GOS
I'm fairly laidback, but there are some things I am unwilling to do right now:

- Modern vampires
- Zombies
- Omegaverse
- Live birth of any kind
- My character falling in love with your character at first sight

Your character is a good cop. Crosses their T's, dots their I's, perfect record. But something goes down that s/he can't prove, or can't stand, or for some reason knows that law won't bring it to justice. Or maybe s/he witnesses something that makes them realize being a goodie two-shoes isn't the best path for themself.
So s/he decides to hire a mercenary (my character, most likely Q) to not only get rid of the problem and/or bring it to justice, but to hopefully also teach them "how to be bad". But s/he's been a good guy their whole life. S/he doesn't really know how to be bad, and changing their whole moral code can be difficult.
No smut, but romance possible. Any gender. Can be realistic or supernatural.
- - POWERS DIVISION
Powers-based setting. Someone who used to be a superhero lost their powers and became a detective for the Powers Division, a division of the PD that deals with superpower-related crimes. I can be the detective or a someone else (villian, mentor, partner cop, etc.), doesn't matter to me. Pairs nicely with Buddy cop trope but doesn't have to.
- - SUPERNATURAL FBI
It's Dean and Cas from Supernatural, who pair up acting as FBI agents to investigate some big supernatural thing that's occurring. Except it's OCs instead of Dean and Cas. But the dynamics of Veteran vs "barely functional human(?)" remain the same. I can play either character. Inspired by this. Romance not guaranteed, smut discouraged. Can be combined with Powers Division and/or Inner Demons setting, but doesn't have to be.

The world has gone to shit and one of us has stolen (or invented) a time machine to make the world less shit. After careful deliberation and study, we have determined that the precise time the world went to shit was that fateful night we had our first sexy hookup. So all we have to do to make the world not shit is prevent the hookup (or some specific action during the hookup) from happening.
So, we go back in time... Only to find out... We've gone back in to just a couple seconds after the event! We will call this, EVENT 0, or E0, for short. We are now in the same room looking at our past selves fucking, and berating ourselves because how could we fuck this up?
"No matter!" one of us says. We will just go back in time again, to, you know, a couple seconds before E0, like we were originally supposed to. So we do.
Except we don't.
We have now arrived 2 seconds after our E0+1 selves have arrived to E0. Holy shit, there are now 3 current copies of us right now, and two of these copies are watching the original have sex.
There's got to be a way to fix this.

One of us has stolen or invented a time machine to go back to the night when X dumped Y because damn that X/Y's an asshole and Y/X didn't know what they were missing from X/Y!!!
(for sake of simplicity we'll just say my character obtained the time machine for the rest of this explanation, but it could be either of us)

Inspired by this
This one is essentially an exercise in how to write the most outrageous, unbelievable things every time Bazinga guy goes back in time. Assume that each time he uses the time machine it is using an infinite improbability drive and has similar side effects.
We could accomplish this by rping normally (You control your own character) or by flipping it, where we each set the new setting for the other character to forcibly adapt. Alternatively, we could take turns with who decides what the next 'dimension' is like (maybe this one we're all starfish? Or maybe this one is like rl but Y gets an aneurysm right before Bazinga can stick it in!).
The main point is to make it funny and that sex never actually happens, but it gets close a few times.
NO GOS
I'm fairly laidback, but there are some things I am unwilling to do right now:

Looking for a new FursuitReview moderator

Here are the REQUIREMENTS:
- You must be on Discord*
- You must have access to an actual computer. Posting reviews are nearly impossible on mobile.
- You must not be afraid to speak up and ask questions if you're unsure about something.
Many of your tasks involve using your best judgment, and it's ok to ask what to do with a situation when you've never experienced it before, but after some time you will be expected to operate on your own for the most part.
If you are uncomfortable with this level of responsibility, do not apply.
*Note about Discord: We use it for our mod log and modchat. You don't have to be on Discord all the time, but you do need to be on it whenever you are doing anything related to FursuitReview.
These are things you will be using. It helps if you are familiar with them, but if you are not, everything can be learned and you can still apply:
- WordPress
- TweetDeck
- Gmail (tags, folders, and stars)
- Familiarity with/knowledge of Fursuits and the website fursuitreview.com
- Very basic HTML (mostly just text formatting and links)
- It is a plus if you know any languages other than English, but it is not required.
Your responsibilities would include:
- checking a gmail account for reviews, making sure they fit within the rules of the site
- sending emails concerning reviews (i.e. Your review's up now, sorry can't post your review due to X reason, etc). Usually these emails are canned so don't worry if you don't think you're good at English.
- Posting the reviews to the fursuitreview website & the furaffinity page
- Posting review announcements on the Twitter
- Thanking people for watching the FA page using a canned shout response
There are other tasks should you want to be involved with them, but I am primarily looking for someone who will post reviews. There is not a strict work time requirement but I'd hope for some activity at least once a week.

Posting a normal review takes about 5-10 minutes once you've been trained. Dealing with special scenarios can take up to 30 minutes but generally no longer than that. In especially special circumstances, you're usually encouraged to hand them off to me (Bornes), but if you get to the point of handling them yourself, it can take up to a few hours. However, this is very rare.

It varies. It depends on how familiar you are with everything, how quickly you learn, how often you're available during this period while we're online too, and how many reviews we have in the queue. I want to say a week is the normal time (that's how long it took for my first mod to be comfortable with everything) but it could be shorter or longer.
What if I'm not sure I'm OK with this but I really want to help you anyway?
Apply anyway. A bunch of mods that can only be on sporadically is better than no mods, honestly. If you can't be online for a significant amount of time during training, that doesn't necessarily disqualify you but it does mean your training will take a lot longer.
I (Bornes / CityFursuits) am the admin/owner and I'm seriously easy-going. If you join and read the guides I've written and are like "lol no" it's totally fine, you can quit and there's no hard feelings there.
Do I need to be 18?
No. In 3 years of this site running, we've not encountered anything NSFW. Of course there's still a possibility it could happen, but FSR is not any sort of legal entity so there's no reason you'd need to be 18 for you to volunteer.
Of course, on the other hand, if you do see something, please don't sue me. I am poor. lol.
What if I make a mistake when I'm working on my own? What happens?
It depends on the mistake. FSR isn't a business, we only run on donations so our obligations to our users aren't as demanding as other operations. This makes it easier for people to forgive us.
Everything is a learning process - me training others and setting up the framework to allow multiple mods is also a learning process - there will be growing pains and that's ok.
Generally speaking, most mistakes you make can be fixed easily. You would have to be intentionally malicious in order to make a significant mistake to warrant instant removal. But that said, it really is case by case.

House Updates (although I know nobody cares! XD)

Dec 2016 - After living in Hawaii for 3 years, move to NY to look at buying a house.
Feb 2017 - Buy a house!! It was a foreclosure and unliveable. Commence making it livable.
May 2017 - It's liveable now and I've finally moved in, though it's still not very pretty looking lol.
Jan 2018 - I present to you, [a part of] My backyard!

So I've never actually shared pics of my house, which is kind of bad since I'm talking about all these changes to it lol but oh well.
Also, it appears I deleted all my other house update journals! I do have a fight with myself sometimes on how personal I'd like this FA to be. >_>
But anyway, I've redone the entire kitchen, subfloor and all. New furnace, new master bathroom, a lot of new subfloor in many places, all new lighting, repainting everything, all new doors, water softener and house filter installed, all new appliances, new gutters, closed in a front porch, dug my own underground gutters D: (that was awful). I have a stone driveway and that took 2-3 loads of stone to "fix". It's not totally fixed so I'll probably get a few more loads this year too D:.
Last year I also attempted to start a japanese moss & rock garden and this is where I'm at (Also those are my neighbor's chickens, a constant nuisance).

All the lavender is because it's a natural mosquito repellant lol
Also these plans will probably change once I start rebuilding the garden again. I've alredy gone through like 3 revisions.
The fake rocks are to cover my septic tank stuff. Anyway, long story short, I did everything wrong and I'm going to have to dig up everything and start over. Which is difficult because my land is basically a ton of rock with not much dirt. BUT HOPEFULLY I'LL GET IT RIGHT THIS TIME, AND BEFORE WINTER. (Sidenote: All those rocks to the side of that red building were put there by hand from other places D: ).
This year, I need to redo all the ductwork in the house through the crawl space. D:
Also redo all the insulation in the attic (which has no access, so the house siding needs to come off).
Assuming that is finished, the next projects are the back porch, which is currently rotting. I'm going to make it a japanese-style deck, or I guess a floating deck?? with long steps, no railing. Not sure of correct terminology, but it'll end up looking something like this.
I can't have water features because of a massive mosquito problem here already and I don't want to invite more. Otherwise I'd... well I don't want to make this a novel.
ANYWAY.
The deck will lead out to all moss with some stepping stones around two large areas of pea gravel (Still fighting with myself what type of pea gravel to get, or do blue stone shard?? Can't do sand because of the rain/snow, would just ruin it).
There's also an area for a rocking fountain (which I already have, but haven't placed yet) and a small bench.
Then, far far far into the future, I plan on having a Torii gate, probably in the area where there's that entrance to the shed in the back. But every time I start working, my plans change a bit. Also, sidenote: Still have no idea what to do with that shed so far in the back there. D:
But behind that, is a bunch of really nice looking trails.
So, um, those are my plans!
Maybe one day when it looks all super nice and "done" I can show pics and be like, YES, I LIVE IN THIS WONDROUS PLACE.
And then maybe (crossing fingers) I can be the location for many photo shoots to come.
But also I am mostly making the backyard this way because Ilove asian shit wanted a pretty place to look at and upkeep, but not have too much maintenance, to help with my mental health.
Buddhism has helped me a lot in that regard.

Back From FWA
Posted 7 years agoI am back from FWA and I got the con crud, as per usual, so sorry if this journal doesn't make sense.
FWA was my first "real" furry con. I've been to many (non-furry) cons before, and one very small furry con that doesn't exist anymore. I've been to a lot of furry meetups. My opinion on people who identify themselves as furries has been neutral to negative. I like furry stuff, but I generally don't consider myself a furry.
This is going to turn intoa book, so to try to keep it short: my opinion of furries overall, and my experiences with them, irl, have been mostly negative. I went to FWA mostly to see if I could change that opinion, and I did.
FWA was full of lots of people who were, uh, shall we say, "well socialized." I expected far more "creepy" people who didn't know social boundaries, far more smelly disgusting fursuits, far more drunken idiots. Of course those things existed at FWA, but they were far far less numerous than I expected. I'd say, maybe 10% of those types of people were visible at the con? I was greatly relieved and impressed and well lol. I had a good time rofl.
I fully expected to hang out with the people i arrived with the whole time and not meet anybody new. But I actually ended up meeting 4 people and hanging out with them over the course of the whole con! Finally met Kiba, whose videos and photography I've always loved, I even got 2 photoshoots with him! :D
I also met and hung out with Rhee and BerkWolf, and another guy named Scylax. We hung all hung out for pretty much the whole con lol. It was great. I had a great time.
I also talked to a bunch more people just randomly. It was great. Better than I expected. I could go on, with more details, but I know nobody wants to read huge walls of text.
Anyway, I look forward to going to FWA again in the future.
And hopefully Anthrocon, too, I want to see a whole town full of furry shit haha.
But, my money situation still sucks. I had a lot of surprise expenses in Jan-feb of this year, and I have a lot of expected expensive shit coming in the next few months. I don't know if I will recover in time for FWA 2019, and I make very little money now.
But it is definitely one of my priorities to go now, so I will try to set aside as much money as I can for that.
Also, I totally have a full pirate costume already that I have worn with my fursuits before, so it'd be great to have an excuse to bring that out again! XD
I took a fair amount of photos at FWA, they should be up some time next week hopefully.
I also might post some things other people took of me here, once I find them.
I was hesitant to go to FWA, but I'm glad I did. FWA broke a lot of stereotypes for me and I am excited to go again someday.

Finally met Kiba, whose videos and photography I've always loved, I even got 2 photoshoots with him! :D
I also met and hung out with Rhee and BerkWolf, and another guy named Scylax. We hung all hung out for pretty much the whole con lol. It was great. I had a great time.
I also talked to a bunch more people just randomly. It was great. Better than I expected. I could go on, with more details, but I know nobody wants to read huge walls of text.
Anyway, I look forward to going to FWA again in the future.
And hopefully Anthrocon, too, I want to see a whole town full of furry shit haha.
But, my money situation still sucks. I had a lot of surprise expenses in Jan-feb of this year, and I have a lot of expected expensive shit coming in the next few months. I don't know if I will recover in time for FWA 2019, and I make very little money now.
But it is definitely one of my priorities to go now, so I will try to set aside as much money as I can for that.
Also, I totally have a full pirate costume already that I have worn with my fursuits before, so it'd be great to have an excuse to bring that out again! XD
I took a fair amount of photos at FWA, they should be up some time next week hopefully.
I also might post some things other people took of me here, once I find them.
I was hesitant to go to FWA, but I'm glad I did. FWA broke a lot of stereotypes for me and I am excited to go again someday.

Had a really weird dream I ran a fursuit lounge at a con
Posted 8 years agoTotally unprompted, I haven't thought about fursuits in a long while.
I had a really big hotel room with a bunch of people I knew in the dream but not irl. We had set up some sort of volunteer business where a bunch of people gave us their fursuits to deliver to them at the con. We had at least 6. 2 were made entirely out of beads or beans (wtf) and one of the bean ones fell apart in transit. We got all the fursuits to the hotel though and were laying them out in the room for people to come pick up.
And it wasn't intended as a hang out place, but it became one. Basically a defacto fursuit lounge. Or maybe a headless lounge. I met a new person there who started pointing out all the 'big name' regulars at this particular con as they started arriving in the hotel parking lot from my room's balcony. One was a sylvester the cat fursuiter in this comical tiny car. In fact, there were a lot of fursuits driving and I even mentioned how unsafe that was lol. The person I was talking to agreed.
Eventually I got invited to go to the con with them and some other people, and I laughed and said I couldn't go now, I'd have to see later because "at this point in time, I didn't even buy a ticket yet" because... Who gets a hotel room with no con ticket?? Wat
Con officially starts, I'm running the hotel room/lounge and meeting bunch of people, have great conversations, had great fun throwing out one dickwad who kept blowing an extremely loud whistle, everyone else was nice and great, I eventually get into the con somehow (I never did buy a badge, maybe someone gave me one).
I go in fursuit and whoever I was hanging out with abandoned me (or we got split up, I don't remember), and someone who recognized me from one of my ASL youtube videos starts signing to me. We have a really long ASL conversation, eventually move to the (actual) headless lounge and continue signing (easier without fursuits) there. Then Granas or possibly his husband, can't remember, interrupts me and says we have to go for some reason. I am trying to sign what they are saying to me to my ASL friend (as a sort of polite interpreting move) but my vocabulary isn't good enough and I am not a good enough signer to sign while speaking so my ASL ends up like.. halfway there and probably stupid confusing.
I eventually sign I'm sorry to my new friend and pluck out a business card from my hidden fursuit pocket (which exists irl and everyone should have one built into their suit btw), hastily write my phone number on it and "txt me" and leave.
And then I wake up thinking, man, that was great, I totally should make business cards for precisely that scenario so leaving is more timely but I can still connect with people.
Aaaand also wanting to make this whole experience a reality someday. Maybe. lol.
Other highlights:
- Finally met HDub in person!
- Made one of those con meme journals and in it made a joke about how I'd probably be connected ot the hip of Granas the whole time!
- Spelled half my ASL words because my vocab is bad even in dreams! bwahaha
So, anyway, that was my dream... sighs

Need help designing a "lycan". Help?
Posted 9 years agoThis problem is twothree-fold: I need to design an actual "lycan species" and then what a half lycan/half human would look like. And I need to figure out how to surgically alter the half/half to appear 100% human (but still have a tail).
The 100% lycan needs:
- A saluki feathered tail lookalike that serves some huge function (major artery inside it, for example)
- excellent night vision / bioluminescent eyes
- excellent hearing
The 50% lycan needs:
- The tail that can believably be too dangerous to surgically remove
- plantigrade
- The skull must be mostly human-shaped
Q is an OC I've had for years. He is half human/half my lycan species, but surgically altered to appear 100% human sans his tail, which he still has. Despite having this character since 2004, for some reason I never bothered to create what an actual lycan would look like. But recently I've been re-examining Q and trying to make him more realistic. And I think I need to design a "my lycan species" in order to figure out how to do that.
So far, I've basically come up with a were bear with a saluki tail. And then Q can have some pieces of arm bone removed to shorten those so he looks more human. But I don't know, this still doesn't seem to fit right?
I think my main issue is that dumb tail. I don't want to get rid of it, so I need a creative solution to why it cannot be surgically removed. For years my excuse was "arteries" but that's really not good enough.
Funny thing is, I never really had this much trouble designing the Befthar dragons, which are also reverse engineered from my OC Lori.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Posted 9 years agoSo, while growing up I was told I was 1/4 Cherokee. My mom 1/2 and her father 100%. Her dad was an ass, there was a divorce, tl;dr I never met him.
I don't know. It all seemed legit. I myself wasn't too dark but my mom was fairly dark and her brother was even darker. We were never full-blown going to pow-wows or anything. But we had several books and there was that, I guess standard romanticism going on with native american culture.
By my teenage years I dropped most of it. I never really cared too much of what I was and being Cherokee wasn't like a huge part of my identity or anything.
In my 20s, my mom started trying build a legit family tree. This was going on for years, formally requesting birth certificates and everything. She started with her maternal side. Her dad, who is currently still alive, was still a huge asshole and was being very tight-lipped about his ancestry, which made investigating the paternal side very difficult.
She tried to investigate anyway, and things were looking very shady. Like... Not Native American at all.
This past year, my mom's brother, the brownest of us, took a DNA test from ancestry.com that came back 50%+ Scandinavian.
Him and my mom refused to believe it and thought it was some kind of fluke. I convinced my mom to get a DNA test from 23andMe. The results came in today and here's the result:
Northwestern European 95.2%
(which is comprised of the following)
British & Irish 48.2%
French & German 13.0%
Scandinavian 4.0%
Broadly Northwestern European 30.0%
In comparison:
Native american (what we were told we were) 0.2%
I'll be honest, I don't really know how I feel about it. I still don't understand how some of my family is so very brown if this is accurate. Otherwise, I have noticed similarities in my features with Scandinavians so, I dunno.
I guess I'm more worried about what it implies about my maternal grandfather? Why call himself Native American? If he was Irish, which is really the only other thing I could think of that he would be ashamed of, then why is he so brown (I've seen photos)?
At the end of the deal, the realization that this is all 'real' and 'legit' is just weird. Like. I guess it explains why I like the cold and rain and don't like Hawaii much??
But otherwise it's just like.
".....Oh."
Whatever I am (as I'm sure those percentages are all estimates), I'm a little saddened I never got to grow up learning about that culture.
Instead I got... Dream catchers (which aren't even Cherokee? LOL).

By my teenage years I dropped most of it. I never really cared too much of what I was and being Cherokee wasn't like a huge part of my identity or anything.
In my 20s, my mom started trying build a legit family tree. This was going on for years, formally requesting birth certificates and everything. She started with her maternal side. Her dad, who is currently still alive, was still a huge asshole and was being very tight-lipped about his ancestry, which made investigating the paternal side very difficult.
She tried to investigate anyway, and things were looking very shady. Like... Not Native American at all.
This past year, my mom's brother, the brownest of us, took a DNA test from ancestry.com that came back 50%+ Scandinavian.
Him and my mom refused to believe it and thought it was some kind of fluke. I convinced my mom to get a DNA test from 23andMe. The results came in today and here's the result:
Northwestern European 95.2%
(which is comprised of the following)
British & Irish 48.2%
French & German 13.0%
Scandinavian 4.0%
Broadly Northwestern European 30.0%
In comparison:
Native american (what we were told we were) 0.2%
I'll be honest, I don't really know how I feel about it. I still don't understand how some of my family is so very brown if this is accurate. Otherwise, I have noticed similarities in my features with Scandinavians so, I dunno.
I guess I'm more worried about what it implies about my maternal grandfather? Why call himself Native American? If he was Irish, which is really the only other thing I could think of that he would be ashamed of, then why is he so brown (I've seen photos)?
At the end of the deal, the realization that this is all 'real' and 'legit' is just weird. Like. I guess it explains why I like the cold and rain and don't like Hawaii much??
But otherwise it's just like.
".....Oh."
Whatever I am (as I'm sure those percentages are all estimates), I'm a little saddened I never got to grow up learning about that culture.
Instead I got... Dream catchers (which aren't even Cherokee? LOL).
It's just. Interesting. I guess.

Posted 9 years agoThis was previously my summer to do list but now it's just going to be a standing to do list for reasons. I've added some stuff. The original list was started in May 2016.
doing list (for multi-step things)
I completed way too many of these so now I'm restructuring this list so the stuff I haven't completed is at the top and the stuff I have is at the bottom.
TO DO
- Write a YR+LTR Review
- Write all owed fursuit reviews (at least 1 per month)
- Try out Paint Tool SAI & Clip Studio and draw some stuff. Maybe sell an adopt.
- Back Exercises
- Write a book or seriously start one (CC3, new Q, and/or Forboden).
- Update AMP
- Update Eidolon somehow... Again.
- design/print video game covers for n64 games. print new cover for dreamcast game
- scan justin's art and post it. also post the other gift art I got.
- make a binder for all the owners manuals and/or warranties.
FursuitReview
- New 'how to submit review' FAQ that assumes no knowledge of FA
- "Why write a fursuit review?" article with short url: why.fursuitreview.com
- Set up email subscriptions for new reviews?
- Investigate possibly adding another admin to the website
- Create a handbook with step by step instructions on what to do when adding a new post etc. for said new admin(s). With pictures.
- Run WP Optimize
FSR 3.0 Bigass site redo:
- Buy pro content views and restructure site around the better sifting options.
- Take out "maker response" tab on all reviews.. unless review actually has a maker response.
- Take out subdomain FAQ
- Add subdomains for every maker listed?
- Enable pretty links.
- Take out advanced search dropin so it's back to "all categories except these ones"
- Make search page work like how people actually use it (just search for the keywords only like google)
- On that note, somehow make category archive pages work better so I can use those for maker pages (Might be able to do with CV pro)

Necomimi fursuit-- destroyed?

The necomimi headset keeps burning out and I've decided to not buy anymore headsets ever.
The fursuit ears fall off randomly so I was going to permanently affix them to the head. This means no more moving ears, ever, even in the future...
But before I do that, I was wondering if anyone knew of ANY sort of substitutions for the necomimi. I like the moving ears. Any other headsets that have moving ears? Even if they're just on a static loop of movement? Or like spring wiggly ears? Or anything you think I could retrofit my head/ears with?
