Life up to now.
Posted 15 years agoThings up to now:
It’s been a long time since I wrote anything to post so about time to get a real update out there. As of February 14th 2010 I’m now living and living in Denver Colorado and it’s truly been a good move. I love being in the city and being able to get up into the mountains easily is really nice. Things work wise were totally falling apart stupid decisions down from upper management and poor middle management making things very hard to deal with, jobs not being sold, positions getting cut and other rearranged, tremendous amounts of stress, to the point of not getting to sleep at night and Sundays being the worst with just the sheer dread at the thought of having to go in to start another week. I saw things showing no positive outlook so felt it was time to put real action behind my desire to relocate to Colorado, already having good relations with my sister company in Denver I started talking serious about actually moving up in late June and got things going, lots of phone calls and emails getting things worked out and visit in August to make sure I truly wanted to work for them. Things continued downhill as all this went on, they started pulling things out from under me and managed to make a full week and get paid for Thanksgiving holiday and then it all fell apart, I hung on to bits and pieces here and there as I worked like mad to get my house cleaned out, packed up and ready to put on the market but didn’t get more than 20 hours a week from that point forward and not enough to get paid for Christmas or New years. I turned in my notice and finalized everything I had and actually made it to it being time to take the drive. It’s been an adjustment moving from only living in a house with a yard to an apartment but planning on getting another place with a yard. Work is much better, company is just about the complete opposite of what I moved away from and that’s a big positive, it’s a comfort to be welcome when I’m working in the office instead of being questioned as to why I’m there and what I’m doing. Checking in on things now I was going to be changing jobs regardless because they have scaled back even more and once I left they closed down anything for controls and automation so I would have been let go if I didn’t transfer and move.

Cons last year
Posted 15 years agoI haven't written any updates in a long time now so I figured it would be good to get a few out there. A lot has happened over the past year and a half so going to break it up into a few posts.
Cons overview:
I managed a few more cons last year after coming back from FC-09, Furry Fiesta-09 up in Dallas was a fun time and a nice local get away only a 4 hour drive north from Houston. FWA-09 was an awesome trip, 13 hour drive over to Atlanta, and had to be the most fun to date while I was there. I just about ran myself into the ground in suit, weather was great. I went over to the Marriott a couple times in suit, the first was with Trevlyan when he had to have a Starbucks fix and I got mobbed by a group of girls coming down that were with the orchestra convention and it took me like 15 minutes to make from the vestibule door over to the Starbucks in the lobby through a flood of so cute comments and pictures. A couple of other times went into the mall in suit getting a lot of attention but there was one little girl that just stood out, she was too unsure to come up to me directly but curious enough to follow me around at a distance and watch everything. At one point when the group stopped for lunch in the food court they told me she got a police officer’s attention pointing to me and saying “He has a tail” to which he looked over at me and the group, kneeling down to her and saying “I know and its ok”, that had to be one of the bigger high lights of the trip. The next one was RMFC-09 in Denver Colorado, this trip was a double duty visit, I really had to have the get away from all the stress and crap I was trying to get through with my work really taking a fast spin down the drain and to have the chance to visit the office of my sister company in Denver to see them and to be seen and help decide if I wanted to truly work with them as well as getting to see the city its self. The con was fun and the fursuit parade being outdoors and down the 16th street mall was great. I knew for sure that I wanted to move up because this was the first trip where I was ready to leave everything and not get on the plane back home. With everything going on at home after that I had to miss both FC-10 and FWA-10 which was a downer but didn't really have a choice in it, things have really been on the upswing and able to get back into the fun making it to AC-10.

FC First con
Posted 16 years agoI must say that for a first con experience I sure picked a winner. I had such an awesome time at FC !! I meet a lot of people I had only chatted with and many more that I had been shy to say hello to.
I spent most of my time running around in suit having a blast. I posed for more pics than i can even hope to remember a count for and gave out just as many hugs. My room mates Xavier, Yakeo and Rev Fox were all great to be around, even though Rev the party fox spent most of his time having lots of fun else where ^_~
Dex was great to meet and watch dance in person and actually broke me of my normal wall flower self when he and Vega pushed me out on the floor and made me dance in public for the first time which was truly a lot of fun.
Crygus picked me up at the air port Wednesday evening in San Jose and it was great to finally get to see him in person as he has really become a good friend.
My flights out went good, through I must say that i will avoid US Airways in the future, very poor baggage handling, im suit came through fine but they beat the daylights out of my action packer, broke one lock off completely and bent the other one to an unusable state.
I flew back on Frontier which was a lot better, good service on the planes and far better baggage handling. We had almost a 35 minute mechanical delay on the ground in San Jose before finally getting in the air and I ended up having to run clear to the other end of terminal A in Denver to catch my connecting flight to Houston since boarding had already started when we finally landed and they had moved the flight from boarding at A26 to A50 and we parked at A30. Both flights were rather rough with lots of turbulence but made it home with no real trouble.
Over all I don't really think I could have asked for a better first time experience!! I'm on the great photo hunt now so if any one spots a pic of me in suit from the con drop me a link because I want to grab all I can find ^_^
Next plans are Furry Fiesta in Dallas since its local and a short drive then FWA at the end of March.

Sad Decision
Posted 17 years agoWell in light of everything going on right now I have had to make a very sad decision that i really don't want to do but for the sake of being practical have to do. I am going to be calling off attending MFF this yea so any one trying to find space in the main hotel I'm going to be canceling my reservation that will open up a single room for the 20-24.
This is not an easy decision because i want to be at the con but with things as they are here in Houston I'm not sure when I will be working again since my office has no power along with a large portion of the city so its hard to get onto construction sites. I am going to end up using my vacation time that i have left to cover my time off so I don't come up short because I can't really afford that right now which is not going to leave me the time to cover being off for the con. The other big factor for it is the cost is just money that U can't spend now with the 300-400 plane ticket and the 450 for the room just isn't available now.
I will still be attending FC and skipping MFF will make it an easier time financially and thus more enjoyable.
I'm sorry to those that were looking forward to meeting me at MFF but there are plenty of other cons ahead :)

Hurricane IKE post 1
Posted 17 years agoHey there every one just making a post that I came through the storm ok with no real problems, of course no power or internet, so I'm running on my generator and mobile broadband. There are lots of trees down every where through my neighbor hood and nothing hit my house or trucks which is a bit relief. They are saying it could be up to 4 weeks before power is restored in some areas. I have already taken a lot of pics just around my house and more will be taken as clean up goes on that i will be posting once i have a regular internet connection. I'm on a private well and can run my pump off the generator so I have no problem with water and had plenty of food in the house as it was so over all doing good and helping to take care of my neighbors.
My cell is working fine so I'm able to take in calls and TXT's. Have already had several checking in all in calls, txt's and im's which i appreciate.
Houston is some 63 square miles and after the storm the entire power grid is down and severely damaged in some ares so hoping for the best on power but planing for the long run.

Travel Plans
Posted 17 years agoJust a quick update. First will be at MFF in November and then I will be making it out to FC in January.
The real me
Posted 17 years agoWell I figure I will take the plunge and put a picture of the real me up here on my site
Some Long secret personal info (Cross posted on my LJ)
Posted 17 years agoAbout a month ago I ended up stumbling across Xavier's page on fur affinity and started browsing around the site finding it very interesting to say the least. I have always had a very big attraction to wolf's and k9's for as long as I can remember and have always felt inside that if I was to be an animal it would be a wolf. I had never really herd or had any exposure to the fur community and by the beliefs of my parents being anything that is not "normal" is wrong have kept things hidden deep inside for a long time.
I'm really glad that I ended up here now, thanks to meeting some really great people and receiving lots of encouragement I'm really excited about finally opening up to and exploring myself as a fur.
I currently have a commission in to Noble Wolf for a fur suit that will be ready around July and I will be at MFF this November as Tyson. This will be the first time I have ever been and I'm really excited about it and looking forward to making lots of new friends.
I have to give special thanks to TOS for being the first to really message me and start chatting, he is the one that really provided me with the support and encouragement that I needed. And to Kenova for being a friend and encouraging me to go through with things and make tit to make it to my first con.
I always enjoy talking with new people so drop me a line if you have any questions. :)
