No Stream.
General | Posted 3 years agoI don't think anyone was expecting anything, but thought I should follow up and explain there was no stream,
after many years of service, my computer had a sudden case of brickness.

General | Posted 5 years agoDear Furry Community
General | Posted 6 years agoI've been in a dark (ish) place. .. literally for years. And after slowly giving up good habits one at a time, I finally came to a place I call my personal rock bottom ("my" rock bottom, while one can dig lower, I don't want to go any lower, so I all it my rock bottom, which, full disclosure, isn't all that terrible... it amounts to a disgusting health self neglect and spend large amounts of time just killing time)
Things are changing. Or rather, I'm changing. I sunk into a big rut and I think it comes from trying to adapt to a life I didn't prepare for as as an independent artist, and not feeling like I have any power to move forward on any one particular project. Hopefully I can start gaining momentum and consistency.
As part of starting to come alive again, furry art is hopefully going to increase too, I would like to do some of my own characters. Guess I would have to crowd fund that for it to be a thing for work.

Custom 3D animated Icons. Ideas?
General | Posted 8 years agoI'd like to start using my 3D character to make custom animated icons for people. The model has face and body blend shapes that can be applied to match a character, and I'll basically paint over the model to match textures.
I also want to build a selection of animations and clothing props that can be re-used so people can pick an action for their icon to do.
If you can think of any action/animations that would be good to have in my selection as something people might generally pick for their icon, send those Ideas over. More details will follow, as I flesh out the idea more I'll have more to present to people, but that doesn't mean you can't be an early first participant if you have an idea to do.
I want it to be something that can be done for as low as $30 or possibly as low as $15 assuming I can get the automated/stock details worked out for people to choose, (and higher price options for more customization)
Let me know what you think.

General | Posted 10 years agoLast year I decided I needed to shift my focus to my career, and started dropping commissions. I put commissions waaay low on my list of priorities, and If you don't ever make the time for something, it never gets done. Vaylute, bless her heart, waited very patiently as her commission sat in an unpolished state for the better part of a year.
I don't dislike the work in my gallery, but I don't think it represents my range of style and who I am as an artist. As I have no motivation to do commission work, I don't think I'll be returning (unless I were to start something with my own characters)
I've always planned on returning to studio work, but I also frequently have in the back of my head the possibility of starting something of my own. I wonder how feasible it is, really, to make use of the public funding platforms such as Patreon.
Anyway, I guess this is me, not saying hello nor goodbye, or anything, except that I'm still alive, I guess.
Happy nothing.

Updated on Commissions and Careers
General | Posted 10 years agoOkay. So to clarify what I'm doing, I'm currently working mostly on my career portfolio animated short / New Daz 3D Model project, and trying to sneak in a little time each day for all you furpeeps. So my commission work is moving along and no longer in sporadic hiatus, however it is permanently demoted to hobby status and you will see a slow but hopefully more and more steady trickle from me. Thank you for all that have been so patient with me.
so how about that weather?
General | Posted 11 years agoOkay so living in Utah, I usually have to brace myself for what feels like six long months of biting, furious cold. This year it's like -- what winter? Yes Summer gave Fall and Winter a miss and went straight on into Spring. It's been really creepy scary warm, we only had about two weeks of cold, right in the middle.
But apparently the East coast is dealing with record breaking Cold.. and I'm like, wuuuut?

The other reason for my absence
General | Posted 11 years agoI've already mentioned my depression and disinterest in doing art, both of which are finally clearing up nicely. In fact in regards to my depression I'm beginning to feel stronger than I have in years. (not that I have anything deep and dark, just kind of chronic)
But I keep neglecting to mention the biggest thing that has been keeping me away: my career. Whenever I'm going to spare some time on the computer for art, it's so much easier for me to slip into working on my major 3D portfolio work than to try to prod myself into my 2D art. Furthermore, at this point it's only ramping up. For the rest of February and March I'm going to have to focus pretty hard on this, so it's still a little time yet before you'll see any very regular activity from me.

Groundhog day? Again?
General | Posted 11 years agoGroundhog day? Again?
It's like we'll have Groundhog day over and over again forever.
... maybe just not every day.
The movie Groundhog Day is like the movie Groundhog Day, you can watch it over and over again.
Let me further explain.
General | Posted 11 years agoI've struggled for a long time knowing I want to create stuff for kids for a living, and I have fears about how to never let my twisted side, or gross misunderstandings leak into my professional work. I've also had to deal with the mature adult that's been growing inside me the past couple decades. I've decided the best thing I can do is compartmentalize things.
I have two halves, both of which feel they want to live.
So I shall let them.
In their own spaces.

Waves of art
General | Posted 11 years agoHas anyone noticed art seems to come in waves? I'm not talking just individually, but whole communities ebb and flow.
FA Commissions Once a week Live
General | Posted 11 years agoI'll pencil FA commissions for all day Wednesdays and broadcast it live. Coming up: Scarlette V
I'm not dead.
General | Posted 11 years agoYes, I'm still alive. I don't know why I go through these long streaks of acting like I don't like to do art. I've pretty much always been that way, going for months at a time doing no art at all. I eventually come around to it again and discover that I can tolerate and even enjoy it. I've been in this mode where it's almost like I'm afraid to get started again, although I know that if I just put in a little effort it'll be just fine. It's just hard to talk myself into doing things, always has been, especially when there's distractions. Never been much of a self-motivator, in fact it's almost a strong compulsive impulse not to be. Anyway, I think I'm finally coming 'round, so stay tuned.
Quick shout out to y'all
General | Posted 12 years agoQuick shout out to y'all because you know I haven't forgotten a one of you, I'm just taking my good sweet time to make a reappearance. After all, when I was in the squeaky clean furry archive Yerf scene I was the phantom Yerfer, making sudden brief appearances then vanishing for years to come. I guess that's just the way I work...

Thinking about commissions
General | Posted 12 years agoOk so I've been thinking about possibly getting back into commissions, maybe in a month from now or so, whatever. I want to try to evolve my style a little. It's possible I could put a lot more focus and dedication into this, and if I'm successful, it's also possible I could have people waiting quite a while for me to get to their commissions. My question is, would it completely unprofessional, perhaps even dick-ish, not to go by first-come-first-served basis, but just by order of what subject matter inspires me more at the moment?
Well, Mario is officially a furry.
General | Posted 12 years agoPeople where making jokes about the tanooki suit and I thought nawww.. Bee suit, peguine suit, just evidence Nintendo's getting increasingly kid stuff. But now, well, I think it can officially be said that Mario and company like dressing up as animals.

What's the best thing you ever saw on the internet, ever?
General | Posted 12 years agoWhat's the best thing you ever saw on the internet, ever?
Most of us have been using the internet so much so long we probably don't even remember the best thing we've ever found. I'm curious what would turn up in response to this question, and I'm a little suprised I haven't seen more on this subject.
I feel bad posting this question without offering a link myself, but I have damaged recollection and can't think of anything, so I can't post the best thing ever.
So instead, I'll post some music:
Mario Opera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89eaxsthTqc
How the universe works soundtrack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89eaxsthTqc
Also, I think the People are Awesome series of videos is awesome.
and this is hilarious: http://youtu.be/Q5mHPo2yDG8

General | Posted 13 years agoI've been absolutely insane with depression for the past... year, In general feeling like a failure at life, and having a sour outlook on everything. The worst of this episode started with some confidence-crushing failures of mine that ended in a falling out with a good friend, and my spirits didn't improve even after we patched things up. I heard it said that people don't understand what depression is like unless they've been there. If it could be compared to anything I would compare it to addiction, and really that's a very good comparison. For a long time there's been nothing compelling me to depression except a strong bedrock of habits and being accustomed to feeling that way. It's not too far off base to say it's all in my head, that it's more something I'm doing than something that's happeing to me, and that the cure would be to stop doing it. Of course telling myself I'm just being silly and stupid doesn't help things so much.. Every day I think now is the time I'm going to start turning things around, and every day I find myself reinforcing the same self destructive pattern.
I'm sorry for my absence and I'm deeply sorry to those who have been waiting on commissions.
Well, tomorrow is another day...

General | Posted 13 years agoAfter a ridiculously long hiatus I'm... leaving on an outdoorsy trip. Sorry to go but it could be for the best anyway, since all of my not working is because of my completely paralyzing lack of confidence and depression, and getting out just might do me some good.

Updates on Art and Commissions.
General | Posted 13 years agoI'm getting my commission work moving again, slowly but surely. Yay. I did a semi-move for a few weeks and now that I'm settled where I'm at, maybe I'll get some work done. I have to accept that I get rusty probably faster than anybody I know. Getting started back up is always rough the first day or so, especially when there's a relocation involved. I want to do beautiful work for the whole eclectic 6 I agreed to work on, then get my 3D system up and running as soon as possible.
Cheers,

Commissions Report: STILL out of town D: sorry!
General | Posted 13 years agoOmy you guys,
I keep thinking I'm going to get a chance to work commissions but my stay out of town keeps extending and so my precious blankeddy-blank Wacom tablet remains at home all alone without its master :(
SO SORRY
however, I haven't forgotten you! I'm trying to make the time I'm spending inspirational to my future art.
Please hang tight :)
