Summer 2024 Update
Posted a year agoHi, everyone. I first want to say thank you for the strong engagement I received on "Stud Service" (though not so much here on FA). I wasn't completely confident that the story was worth sharing, but I think the response shows that I had nothing to worry about. I know the story isn't perfect - nothing ever is, really - but I do feel it shows how much better I've gotten since my early attempts at this kind of thing.
Since I've been somewhat MIA lately, I thought I'd take this moment to share a little about what else I've been working on.
The big project I get asked about is, of course, the continuation of A Study in Anatomy. I promise I have been working on it. The draft is done, but, to not mince words, I kind of hate it. I know what events I need to have happen for the plot to progress, but I don't feel like the ending works, and I have yet to figure out why. That said, I have one more project I'm trying to complete this summer. When that's done, I plan to return to the story of Miles, Alec, and the Menagerie, and to do everything I can to resume semi-monthly updates by the end of the year.
Just to offer a little taste of where it's going, here's the cover image I created.
I don't think I can share too much about it yet, but I also want to mention that I have at least one completely new adult story (male/male with a domination/submission focus) that will be featured in an upcoming anthology from Fenris Publishing. I believe the aim is for an MFF release, but I will share more when I have details.
There's also the novel project I've been working on for some time. That's been progressing, and I don't have much else to share about that at this time.
Finally, I know it isn't exactly in line with my more popular material, but The Jackal's Song project will likely continue with updates a few times a week for the next 1-2 months, as long as I'm still getting at least some engagement on it. Since this is material that's already been written, the only real delay is in taking the time to proofread and clean up errors. While unpolished - think of it like a serialized novel - I've found Senu's story to be endearing, and have enjoyed discovering it. I've also been enamored with a few characters that will soon make their first appearances (to the point where I may write some more 'traditional' Brathor stories about them at some point over the next year). On the other hand, if the limited interest I've had tapers off, I might just hold onto it or post it directly to my website. We'll see how things shake out.
So, again, thanks for the support. I hope that you'll be seeing more of my material in the coming months.
Random bonus: I've been somewhat infatuated with this comic page Draite and Vellum put out, and I thought a few of you might also be interested (that is if you haven't already seen it). The expression the Whitefang character has in the last panel is very close to what I imagined Nathan looking like when he's whispering in Gene's ear in "Stud Service," so perhaps that's enough to justify including it in this update.
