Well since being in the army finally have had a chance to have some proper time off with friends and not travel (much) got to hang out with some of my buddies I hadn't hung out with so much as life and/or training has gotten in the way. Went shooting yesterday and today I ended up at a gun show in Calgary. I was able to find the rifle I was looking for at a reasonable price. Next on the list is a visit to the zoo followed by furry bowling. Will probably end off with some Easter ham at some point at my buddy's place. so I had a fun experience yesterday morning.... i have a keurig coffee maker and its like skill level monkey to operate. well it was a little obvious that I was making the first cup of the morning. so coffee is doing its getting made thing and i go about my merry business...... well as i go to get my coffee, i see my cup is overflowing.... er wait, not overflowing but upside down *d'oh!!* so i flip the cup over to collect the last little bit of coffee that was being brewed (about 1/4 cup) and try for a round 2. well round 2 had a coffee cup 1/4 full that could only take the ammount of coffee the machine made and not a drop more.... you can see where this is going i am sure :P. well round 2 was almost as eventful as round 1 and coffee overflowed a little. I still had my coffee but some went down the drain so i could add my cream and sugar.


so that was hopefully my only "OMG IM SUCH A DERP" moment. if anyone has something to share for similar experience please do. its totally worth it to share those little embarrassing moments :P

so I am not the greatest of runners but i am one who gives 100% at it during pt. this caused me to have my sgt run with me for a little bit. we got on to the topic of where I would like to get posted to and why. I am aiming for a small town with an airforce base (just plain gucci) that i was just at for OJT for 4 months.

well this converstion on cats came back to me while scrolling on FB and a grumpy cat video was on my wall... :/ i dont mind cats, (furry fandom cats are awesome btw) but umm... there are some crazy cat people out there with too much time on thier hands... wierdest video i have seen in a while.... uggh.

so, now comes the topic in question. lately there have been numerous fads to come and go.... gangnam style, harlem shake and grumpy cat to name a few. I want to know what other peoples opinions are on these types of fads

too much BS not enough action. long story short, I got the money for my truck that got written off recently. then that money had to go to the bank I had the loan under (makes sense up to here) then i got the check last week and the bank i deal with figures they have to hold on to the money for 5 (or in this case a total of 9) days..... my biggest issue is why the hell do they, a bank, need to hold money from the little guy..... factor that in with having to put tires on "new" truck, and a fuel pump.... and I am going to be moving out of my current place hopefully very soon (looking at a few places today and tomorrow) gah this life thing is dumb.... end of rant

i have 3 submissions in about a week lol after several months of nothing.

I got the opportunity to go up to Inuvik NWT, just a little closer to the North Pole than most places eh? I have spent a total of 24 days up here working on all sorts of vehicles we have up here. I just finished the last job today (started about a week and abit ago, waited on parts, got offered a chance to go home friday, jimmyrigged veh to work with old parts) so im feeling pretty pumped. It was a pretty cool experience to come up here and work. A little isolated but on the plus side i didnt spend much money (till i get back and have to pay a $900+ bill for a freaking fuel pump on my truck grr, i just got it >:( ).

It looks like March is gonna be a busy month even though I have half of the month off. I get back to Edmonton (home) since being gone in January. I will likely have my shit sorted out 100% since my accident (rollover) during the holidays. I will be moving in with a buddy of mine and although I dont have my puggle living with me anymore, I will have a basset hound to huggle when i need to. Best of all though is I will be getting my fursuit Edge mailed to me, and quite possibly at the end of the month I may get to try him out at a fursuit bowling event

..... then there is April. As part of training we (vehicle techs) get farmed out to units to work on different equipment, by the looks of what i need signed off, I will likely be going to an armoured unit and although I dont have the full details, just gibs and gabs of information from a couple of sources, I may end up on a couple of field exercises for a couple of months. it sounds like 2 separate ex's so maybe just maybe I might be able to make Fur EH?... i really hope so, but thats army life for ya

so just a quick update. I am currently WAY up north in the North West Territories in Inuvik. Long story short I am based at CFB Edmonton with 1 Service (circus) Battalion. I am in training so they farm people like me out. In this case I am farmed out with aprox 16 others to 4 Wing Cold Lake. with that comes the opportunity to get a few weeks up here in the cold far north. It hasnt been too bad, and I never thought I would think of -25 as "warm"

Also I gotta say getting these recent pics of my fursuit has been the biggest morale boost since all my bloody truck woes.

okay so lets start off at the beginning

goal : get to mom and dads for xmas via driving
the hiccup : truck decided to try a barrel roll without my permission (hit black ice and rolled it in to the ditch) Ironically i was totally calm and okay after the fact

goal 2 : buy a vehicle
the hiccup : everyone thinks their POS is worth alot and they fail to mention the problems, I thought 5 grand cash would get me something that wouldnt need work but I was wrong

goal 3 : secure a ride to cold lake for work or buy a vehicle
no hiccup here mission accomplished and bought newer used veh

goal 4 : make sure new vehicle will work to get me to cold lake
hiccup : day before leaving truck dies with electrical not working, easy fix found battery ground was loose, tightened up and good to go

made it to cold lake no problems, weather got cold, came from -11 arrived in -31, too cold to start vehicle that is not plugged in (my bad)

after getting power cord truck became driveable. warm up truck in morning, drive to gym for PT, drive to kitchen for brekky, drive to work, drive to lunch, yadda yadda, repeat. 2nd day of this and day after refueling truck completely I go to drive from lunch back to work and truck decides fuel pump is not neccessary...... uggh, i really really hate to ask ppl for things of any sort, especially rides


just want something to not go wrong soon here. money was not too much of an issue but if this keeps up ermergerd! lol end of rant

so it hit me this week, probably because I finally did a proper 3 angle view reference of Edge, that it is time to get my fullsuit happening.... well the reference and watching an auction on furbuy for a fullsuit that caught my attention. I guess that brings me to the thought that yes there are some very amazing suits or parts of suits that go on auction on furbuy (that is where I got Sierra) I dont think I could come up with enough characters to fit every costume I would probably buy. I found it funny to look at some of the new listings for suits and as much as I may like the suit I still came to the same conclusions every time...... its nice but... my character is a deer, not a feline, canine, or what ever other variety of furry creature.

so I am happy to announce that the deposit has been paid and I should hear back that my suit will be in queue and hopefully completed this spring XD.

i guess i can celebrate the fact i have just over 500 pageviews :3 now on to 1000.

so i bought a deer resin base from Phazon Alloy a little while back and am finally getting my ass in to gear and am working on bringing Edge to life. I have been playing with the fur a little bit to self teach myself how to deal with the fabric and create the proper patterns for parts. it is definitely an interesting thing to do and there is lots of learning to do as well but thankfully some of the more experienced fursuit builders have very useful tutorials for people like me.
