Brief Hiatus!
Posted 2 months agoHey y'all! College is kind of kicking my butt right now. Finals were last week, but the online certification I'm doing has classes every two months, back-to-back, until January. This means that I won't be posting quite as much, since I have a lot to do.
I do want to keep in touch! I'm not great about posting on my socials, honestly, but I will try. And you can always message me here in the PM's if you want to say hello!
Talk to you all soon-ish!

Status Update! 06/12/2024
Posted a year agoGood morning, party people! Just a little update about how things are going. I'm doing well so far! Under my doctor's supervision, we changed some things about my medications, and I no longer feel like I'm always in a fog. I'm back to writing around 1500 words a day! Hopefully I can pump that number up, but I'm still really happy with it.
In other news, I am resorting to using an old wireless keyboard. My gaming keyboard died on me, and I need to replace the switches, but dang, is it hard! They abjectly refuse to come out. The wireless is fine, but it's not as responsive as my wired one, and so I am hoping to be able to buy a new keyboard soon. In the meantime, I've bought a bunch of rechargeable AAA batteries to be delivered later today, and hopefully that fixes my issue (the batteries I am currently using are old AF).
Thanks for sticking with me, y'all! I'm glad to see you all here, and I can't wait to show you what's coming next! I've already completed the post I'm making on 06/17, so be expecting that. Now, I'm presently working on Clay and Isaiah: Part Two, and I have some ideas for the next Axel and Isaac percolating in my brain as we speak. I haven't forgotten about my old stories, I just needed time off to recharge and get inspired a little bit. If there's anything particular you're craving more of, drop me a comment, and I'll see if I can make it happen!
Talk to y'all later!

06/10/2024 Update
Posted a year agoGood afternoon! As previously mentioned, I've gone to an every-other-week posting schedule. That means that there won't be a public story today, buuuuut...
Patrons on my Patreon get access to next week's story today! You can find me at patreon.com/BrigWestmoorProductions if you want to get access to stories faster. I also have a Discord, where you can drop in and chat with me! If not, that's fine too. But I figured, they're my stories, I'm gonna promote myself. XD
Other than that, I hope you all are having a wonderful start to your week! Drop me a line here, or shoot me a comment, and I'll happily respond as soon as I am able. Thanks for reading!

May 07 2024 Update: Gettin' By
Posted a year agoHello, friends! I'm coming at you a day late because... (drumroll please)
I caught a cold! (YAY)
It totally laid me out for the last couple days, with my head feeling like it was replaced with a giant cotton ball that somehow held pressure. Gross!
Anyway, I'm feeling much better now. Writing has resumed after a few "sick days", and my stuff doesn't arrive for a few more days, so I'll be working hard while I wait.
PM's and messages are always welcome! Thanks so much, and enjoy your week!

4/30/2024 Update: Made it!
Posted a year agoHello everyone! Sorry it's been a while since I posted, but I'm here with an update. I made it to Colorado! Woohoo! Now I just gotta wait for all my stuff to arrive in a couple weeks. Sleeping in a recliner is rough, but I'll manage until the 11th.
Posting will resume on June 1st! I have a few stories in the works, as well as updates on my older works. Hope y'all enjoy the new stuff. See you in a month!

04/08/2024 Update: Moving Daze
Posted a year agoHey everyone! Short update from me today.
The packing continues unabated, and I have a lot of stuff that needs to go into boxes before I'm through. Oh well! I literally asked for this; can't stop now.
I've taken a small break from writing in order to focus on finals. Between packing, college, writing, and adulting, something had to give. But I should be on track to finish a couple new short stories soon.
Finally, the solar eclipse is TODAY! I live in an area that's going to see something like 94% totality, and so I'm going to go out with my silly looking eclipse glasses and stare at the giant fireball in the sky for a little bit. I also have a special filter for my camera that should allow me to take some pictures, too! Don't worry, I'll be using a digital viewfinder. I like my retinas like I like my breakfast: Unburnt.
Have a good day, friends! PM or message me if you're interested in saying hi. Otherwise, see you next week!

Status Update and Hiatus: 04/01/2024
Posted a year agoGood morning! Or afternoon, I guess, at least where I'm at. Would 'salutations' be better?
Anyway! I've got some news. I'm going to be taking a hiatus, but not because I'm struggling with the writing. That's actually been going well. Rather, I need to take a couple of months off because...
I'm moving to Colorado! I move in on May 1st.
I'm super excited to be staying with some long-time friends (and former roommates, so I know we get along). I've really missed my social circles that I was a part of ever since I moved to Chicago about 1.5 years ago, and I can't wait to reconnect with everyone out there.
Excitement aside, I've got to actually, ya know, get there. So I need to pack, and ship, and downsize, and all that fun stuff. Then, I have to turn around and unpack it all once it gets to Colorado. Fun! This is gonna take time, and although I don't have a ton of stuff, I need to not procrastinate and leave it all to the last minute. If I find the time to post a story or two, I will, but I didn't want to promise something and have to walk it back later, so I'm just going to let you be pleasantly surprised that I posted something rather than disappointed that I didn't.
I plan to resume bi-weekly updates on 06/03/2024, which should give me plenty of time to settle in and get going again. I will be posting journals weekly as usual, though, so keep an eye out here if you want to know more about what's going on. Alternatively, check out my Twitter or my Bluesky accounts, as I'll be updating those as well.
Thanks again for all your support. DM's and Comments are always welcome. Have a great day, and if you can, enjoy the eclipse!

03/18/2024: Monday Update
Posted a year agoGood morning y'all! I'm back with a little update, just to let everyone know how I'm doing.
I worked with my doctor to get some things rebalanced. It's going to take time to see results, but I'm optimistic that the changes we've made will help me get my brain happy again.
In the meantime, I've sort of found my mojo again, and I've been writing! It's glorious. The fact that I'm writing is, anyway. Time will tell it it's any good. X3
I've got most of the next Hollin Arensen update written; That should be finished today, and then I'm going to see what I want to work on next. It's going to be a little magpie-like for a while, as I flit from project to project working on whatever makes me happy in the moment. I also started a new series, but that's a fledgling little baby manuscript, and you probably won't see that one for a couple of months at least.
It's feeling really good to relax, slow down, and not put so much pressure on myself to go, go, go. My mental health was a lot worse than I gave it credit for, and I need to make sure I'm prioritizing myself better. I love producing this content, but I think I burned myself out a little bit there. Whoopsie! Thanks for sticking with me, everyone. I really appreciate it. More content to come, and I'll be around to answer PM's and comments if you want to drop me a line.
Have a great week! See y'all later!

03/12/2024 Update: Bi-Weekly Stories
Posted a year agoWell, folks, it's happened. My mental health got away from me and I burned through my buffer (again). I'm getting help for me mental health, but until I'm a little more stable, I need to step back a bit.
I'm not going on another hiatus. I really don't want to do that again, because I want to keep putting out content for you all. So, I'm going to go to bi-weekly updates for a little while.
I might post extra content here or there, but I'm not going to stress about it. I want to keep things light and breezy, and focus on updating regularly in a manner that is sustainable for me.
What does this mean? Well, there will be a journal update on 3/18/2024 instead of a story. I will keep in touch on days that I don't post content, so that you know what's going on. The next story update will be a Hollin Arensen story (I'm about 2k words into that one as of yesterday) on 03/25/2024.
Now, a question for my readers:
Would you rather I stick with one storyline while I rebuild my buffer, or continue to post alternating stories? If I'm only updating once every other week, it means that my two stories that I'm posting here will only get updated once a month. If you'd prefer one story update at a time, which one would you like to see the most? Or, should I just post whatever's popped into my strange little head? I've got a few new story ideas that I've written down to tell (I've always got new ideas), and I have a few old stories I'd like to revisit, but I don't know if now is the time. Any feedback at all is helpful, and there's no bad ideas. Well, I can think of a few bad ideas, but y'all have been so kind and supportive that I doubt I'll get any truly awful ones.
TLDR: I'm cutting back to bi-weekly story updates, and I'm soliciting feedback about the content you'd like to see. Don't be shy, say hi!
Thanks for reading, and thanks for the continued support. You guys/gals/others are the reason I keep creating, and I'm excited to see where I can go from here!

Thoughts - 03/06/2024 Update
Posted a year agoSo, howdy y'all! Just wanted to give a quick update.
I've not been happy with the way the Hollin Arensen stories are turning out lately. Don't get me wrong, I know I've got some fans out there, and I love that! But, it's just not really telling the story I want to tell.
I think it's because this is really a novel, and not a series of short stories like Axel and Isaac are. I just need more real estate to explain things, describe places and people, and just generally spread out. To that end, I am going to be making a change to the Hollin Arensen stories.
Instead of a new short story every other week, I'll be posting a new chapter instead. The change might not be noticeable to you all, but it'll make a huge difference to me. I will also, at some point, be compiling and re-releasing the first three Hollin updates together as a set, to combine them into a cohesive narrative. My plan is to do that before I release the fourth update, but I'm juggling a lot of balls here between Axel & Isaac, Hollin, and my other novel project. I don't want to have to go on hiatus again to fix this, but I may need to temporarily go down to posting new content every other week for a bit until I can get Hollin in a place I'm happy with again. It's early enough in his project that I don't feel too bad doing that. I'll let y'all know if that happens, and I'll tell everyone in advance as well.
TLDR: I'm making the Hollin Arensen stories into a novel, that I will continue to post for free one chapter at a time. Content may drop to every other week temporarily, but that's not set in stone yet.
Thanks for all y'all's continued support as I figure out this whole "being a writer" business! It's crazy how much this has grown since I started writing back in September 2023, and I'm so thankful for all my watchers, commentors, and everyone who just stops by to read my stories. You guys, gals, theys and thems make doing this so much fun, and I really want to show you what I can do. I appreciate how patient you've been, and how kind you all are to me and to each other in the comments.
As always, drop me a PM or leave a comment with any questions, concerns, or just to say hi. I'll continue to post journal updates as things change, so keep an eye out for me! I have a Bluesky and a Twitter, so you can follow me on either platform to see my updates. Talk to y'all soon!

02/19/2024: Posting Schedule Updates
Posted a year agoHey there everyone! So, I have some changes I'm going to be making to what I'm posting.
To use a tired cliche and make a long story short, I'm spreading myself too thin. I've got too many storylines up in the air, and I can't give them all the time and attention they deserve, so I'm paring down my offerings.
Going forward, I'll only be updating the Axel and Isaac, and the Hollin Arensen storylines. Axel and Isaac is my most popular story, and I do love the characters. And Hollin is my attempt to write a more cohesive, thought-out, and slower-paced story, with more elements of adventure than just straight romance.
What does this mean for my other stories? Well, I'll revisit them when I have time in the future. I love Marco and Mitch dearly, and I have more to tell in their little adventure. I want to revisit Nate and David too, but they're in a good place right now, and I don't want to start them and have to stop and leave it on a cliffhanger. So, until I'm done telling one of my other stories, they're going to live on the back burner. Updates for them might appear, but if they do it'll be a special release, and not a regularly scheduled update.
Finally, I'm going to be starting to post what I wrote during NaNoWriMo 2023 on my Patreon! Posts will be bi-weekly on Wednesdays. The first story will be free to everyone, to give you a sampling of what's to come. If you haven't checked it out yet, it's available by copying this link: patreon.com/BrigWestmoorProductions . I'm going to be doing members-only polls to get an idea of what y'all like to see in your stories, polls for input on future plotlines, and more! I hope to see you there!
That's the gist of everything for now. I hope you all continue to read and like my stories as much as I love writing them. Cheers! Drop me a message or a comment with any questions, or just to say hi. I love hearing from you all!

02/07/2024 Update!
Posted a year agoSo sorry I missed y'all on Monday! Life was... hard, for a minute, and I couldn't bring myself to post. But, I'm feeling better today, and so I'm going to post later tonight! This one will be a brand new, sci-Fi adventure romance about a cat who gets abducted by canines. I do believe it's going to take the place of Cy, Leo, and Joe for now, as I'm not sure where I want the story to go yet, and I don't want to blindly write just for the sake of putting words on paper. I want to write stories I'm excited about, and I've learned so much about writing that I really want to see where this new story could take me. I hope you all enjoy the ride! See you tonight!

New Changes
Posted a year agoHey everyone! So, my life has been getting a little crazy recently. I'm getting ready to move, college is picking up, and I just haven't had as much time to write as I used to. I'm trying some things to increase my word count, but until I can pick it up, I need to drop down to posting once a week instead of twice. I've been doing this for a couple of weeks already, but I just wanted to make an official announcement. Thanks for your support, everyone, and I really appreciate the comments and favorites! And as always, I'm available in PM's anytime. Talk to you all soon!
December 2023 Journal 4
Posted a year agoWell, here it is! My last journal post before New Year's Day! I wish I had something momentous planned for the 1st, but I don't really have anything special prepared. But, it will be a return to posting! I've got 6 short stories ready to go, one of which is outside my normal wheelhouse (if you're a fan of muscle growth/transformation, you might like this one!). Wrote it for a friend of mine, not as a commission or anything, but just because I wanted to see if I could. It might turn into a short series, I'm not sure. I do feel like I have more story to tell with it.
Thank you all for bearing with me while I write! I really appreciate your patience, and I'm glad that you're sticking around. New Year's will begin with an Axel and Isaac update, so keep your eyes peeled. As always, comments and favorites are appreciated. I'm excited to start posting again; I can't wait to see you all next year! Happy holidays, and have a happy New Year!

December 2023 Journal 3
Posted a year agoWell, I'm sorry for missing my journal deadline. I know it's self imposed, but at least I had a good reason this time! I was assembling a new computer, and I didn't have everything set up yet for posting. I'm back online now, and I'm raring to go!
I've only gotten two short stories completed so far, and a little bit of work done on the third. I've also edited two of the short stories I wrote for NaNoWriMo. I need to devote more time to writing, but it's taking a lot out of me to keep up with classes, and that's slightly more important, honestly. I love writing, but I need that tasty, tasty day job to pay the bills.
Comments and messages are always encouraged, and I love to hear from you all! I look forward to posting more stories in the New Year!

I love writing, but I need that tasty, tasty day job to pay the bills.
Comments and messages are always encouraged, and I love to hear from you all! I look forward to posting more stories in the New Year!
A Day Late! 12/12/23 Update!
Posted a year agoHello, furry friends! I'm sorry I missed my post yesterday, I was helping out a friend who was in trouble, and it slipped my mind.
Writing is going... all right. I've had a bit of writer's block the past few days, but I'm confident I'll get back on track soon. I might need to take a break from the one story I'm writing and start something else, though.
I've written a new Axel and Isaac, but I'm not thrilled with how it ends. Fortunately, this was the point of giving myself more time to write; so I can really make stories I'm happy with before I post them.
I've also got a new short story series in the works, but I'm stuck on it for now. Rather than spending a bunch of time writing something I'm not fully happy with, I'll put it on the back burner until I can be confident in it again. As a brief synopsis, this one is about a young high school graduate, Cypress (Cy) who gets sent to work on his dad's friend's farm for the summer before he goes off to college. There, he meets the farmer Leonard (Leo), and his young farmhand Joseph (Joe). They start to teach him about the homestead, and the two grow closer to Cy as they spend more time together. It's got tons of potential, I think, and I want to write it, I just got stuck and don't know where to go from where I'm at. It'll come to me; Probably at 3:00 AM when I'm drifting off to sleep, but it'll come to me.
As always, your kind words and comments are appreciated. Have a great week, and I'll see you next Monday!

December 2023 Journal 1
Posted 2 years agoHey everyone! Just a little life update, as promised.
I have already completed writing one short story. It's the second story in the Mitch and Marco storyline, and I'll be editing and releasing it in January, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
I also started my classes today, after taking the weekend off to attend MFF 2023. I had a blast, bought some books. My first class for the term is an IT Leadership Fundamentals class, which promises to teach me how to work in a team and lead a team. I'm pretty familiar with those topics already, so I expect it to mostly be learning corporate-speak and other jargon. Still, there's never been a class where I didn't learn anything, so I'm excited to dig into it!
In case anyone was wondering, I'm attending college to be a data analyst. I'd like to continue writing as a full-time career, but I don't want to fall into the whole starving-artist trope, so I'm going for something good to do as a day job. I'm never going to give up writing entirely, though. I have too many stories to tell! Please, keep doing what y'all have been doing and leave me comments, favorite my stories, and share with your friends. It really keeps me motivated to continue.
I think that's all for now, but as always, DM's are open for anyone who wants to chat. See you next week!

December Plans
Posted 2 years agoHey y'all! Brigantine here. I'm coming to the close of November, and I've made a few decisions on where I want to go from here.
First, I'm going to take December off from posting stories. I hate doing that so early in my posting career, but I burned through my buffer during NaNoWriMo, and I don't want to go back to writing a story one week only to publish it the next. I like to have some wiggle room, so I'm going to rebuild and enhance my buffer as part of my break.
The second thing I want to do over my break is edit my new series. There will be 10 or so short stories that I'll have written during November, and I want to get them ready to post by no later than mid-January.
Next, I feel like I've been just churning out stories without much consideration as to where the story goes next. I tend to write with minimal planning; a real fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants approach (Apparently there's even a term for it, and it's called being a 'pantser'. How rude!). I want to up the quality of my writing, and really connect each short story to the one before it and the one that comes next. So, this break will allow me to write a bunch of stories, edit them as a batch, and make sure I'm putting out my best work.
Finally, I am starting college again! For the umpteenth time... But! I don't make any money as an author yet, so I kinda need a day job to, um... survive! So, December will also be me gauging how much writing I can feasibly do while also attending classes. Never fear! I will continue posting, but my updates may become more sparse as time goes on. Although, that's also what a buffer is good for.
Please know that I truly appreciate all the comments, votes, favorites, and shouts y'all have given me. It really means a lot to me that there are people out there who actually like my work enough to show their support. Without your encouragement, I wouldn't be able to continue doing this.
I also want to assure you that I'm not going to go radio silent, either. I will be posting a new journal in lieu of a story every Monday in December, just to check in and let you guys, gals, and others, what I'm doing and how things are going. DM's are also always open, so send me a message if you want to chat as well!
Thanks so much, and have a happy holiday season! Stories will resume in the new year!

November Update
Posted 2 years agoHi, everyone! So, I'm doing the NaNoWriMo 2023 50,000-word writing challenge! I'm starting an all-new storyline for this challenge, and when I'm done editing it (likely in early January), I'll be posting it here. This means that I'll be mostly limiting myself to one post a week this month. My next planned updates are as follows:
11/06/2023: New Axel and Isaac
11/13/2023: New Nate and David
11/20/2023: New Axel and Isaac
I don't have an update specifically planned for 11/27/2023, but I do intend to post something. I only have a three-week buffer right now, and I'm not sure if I'll have time to keep it maintained as I complete NaNoWriMo. But there's definitely going to be something, for sure. Possibly a sneak preview of the short stories I'm writing for the challenge... We'll all have to wait and see!
I may put Nate and David on hold for a while to work on my Axel and Isaac stories. I'm really enjoying writing them, and y'all seemed to enjoy reading them! So, they might be getting special attention for a while, but don't worry! Nate and David fans, I will be writing more for them, eventually. Their story isn't over yet, it's just barely begun.
After the month of November, or when I have written 50,000 words, I will be trying to do two posts a week: One post for either my Nate and David stories or my Axel and Isaac stories, on alternating weeks and: One post for one of my other storylines, chosen at my discretion. I will be weighing which storyline to continue based on interest and which one I feel like exploring more of at the time. Ultimately, I would like to do this for a living, but the whole point of my writing is to have fun! So, I need to make sure I'm as invested in the stories I write as you, my readers, are.
Drop me a PM, leave a comment, favorite, or watch to let me know what you like, and what I should be doing more of! Your feedback helps me more than you could possibly know. Plus, it's a pretty great feeling to get to hear from you all. I enjoy the engagement, and I'm excited for what's to come!
Signing off for now,
Brigantine Westmoor
