Otakon
General | Posted 13 years agoTo think that it's been a full year already. We'll be around, hopefully catching up with all of our fellow bronies. Hope to run into folks at the gathering tomorrow.
SDCC starts tomorrow!
General | Posted 13 years agoWell, I'm off to the wonderful land of southern California, and it's going to be something crazy all week long. Have a meeting with the fine folks from Hasbro, and the Hub, so we'll see how the weekend goes. Who else will be attending?
And if all goes well, there might be a Derpy figure or two that we'll be able to get.

Bronycon - a quick review
General | Posted 13 years agoBronycon in Seacaus, New Jersey went fantastically this weekend and I have to say that I (and thousands of others) cannot wait for the announcement of their next event. Overall most of staff was quite on the ball and there was an amazing atmosphere going throughout the convention. Fun events, a great selection of vendors and artists, and a friendlier crowd than even within the Steampunk community, and that is saying quite a lot.
Over the weekend I got to chat with some of the organizers and what can say other than I was fairly impressed at the skill and dedication of their crew as a whole. It was a great event, and I'm hoping that I can be more active with the event in the future.
From the programming to the Travelling Pony Museum to...well, just about everything, I would say that Bronycon was the place to be. Now that they know what the fandom is capable of, once the staff is able to lock into a better facility, I would say that they are quite unstoppable.

Bronycon - Summer Event
General | Posted 13 years agoWell the time has finally come and the big fan event for the season is now upon us. It was close, but it looks like we will be in attendance afterall. I will be around all weekend, so feel free to hit me up at any point if you see me this weekend. Odds are I should be in costume(casual mostly) with either a Vinyl Scratch or Rainbow Dash outfit(look for stilts with the latter), and I have something fun lined up for Sunday for the costume contest. Hope to see a bunch of you there, can I get a show of hooves who will be there this weekend?
So we finally got around to putting up a FB page for everything while the backend is being worked on. And yes, we finally have made some headway on the guts of the site. It's a long story that I'm sure that we will tell in comic format in the near future.

Pony Licences, and need help for Anthrocon
General | Posted 13 years agoSo I just came across something fantastic, and wanted to share this with everyone.
Coyoterain has just shown us something über awesome, and that's the Ponyville Licence. http://xfizzle.deviantart.com/art/P.....late-255149035 with background provided by the ever-so amazing
javkiller. Be sure to check Coyoterain's version here for a sample layout. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8174093
So on another note, we're in a bit of a pickle. So our rooming plans for Anthrocon this weekend kinda went up in smoke, and at this point I'm kinda homeless. Any pony out there happen to have a room with available crash space? I don't need a bed, I have my own cot. If anyone can help me out with this, please let me know. Thanks in advance every pony.
*EDIT:
Thanks again everyone, I now have a room for the weekend. My thanks to everyone who gave me a hand, it really means a lot to me. See every pony this weekend!

General | Posted 13 years agoLittle update
General | Posted 13 years agoWell, things have been a little crazy since my trip to Boston, and man are my hooves tired. There's a lot of new things in the works right now(and yes, that includes getting the website up and running)and we have an interesting little project that's been brought to my attention.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects.....y-little-brony Now this project was brought to my attention of user
TobiasLocke.
Now I've watched the pitch, and I leave it up to you. Now if this turns out to be a decent portrayal of your general Bronies, I'm all for it. Now if this 'mockumentary' goes the Fox News route or goes more south than the Darkon LARP documentary, then even the Mysterious Mare-Do-Well won't be able to save these film makers. Let's hope they're trying to do this on a positive note. ^_^

General | Posted 13 years agoJust a little heads up, but we'll be there in force this weekend not just at PAX East, but at Anime Boston as well! There's stuff in the works(believe it or not), and we should have some fun things coming your way soon.
Also comics.

It's good when mainstream authors like to join the fray and offer support when we are baselessly attacked by, let's say fanatics. This is in defense from those that honestly believe that MLP: FiM is "Satanic". I'm not making this up folks, please go check this out for yourselves.

P.S. Yes, I know, and we're waiting still on the go-ahead from Hasbro.

General | Posted 14 years agoHappy Thanksgiving everyone! *hugs all around*
So MFF this year was interesting. Remind me not to do 2 shows in 1 weekend like that again. It was good seeing some of my friends and fellow bronies this past weekend, but I only got to see a fraction of those I hold dear, and for way too short a time.
So here's a new one for you. Went by my storage unit with a friend on our way to Ohio and asked the fine folks up front if they knew of a place nearby where I could get my oil changed and tires rotated(both overdue) and was referred to a new shop down the street(half a block away). Simple, convenient, and after tax my oil change came out to $19 even. I asked about the tire rotation and was quoted only $15 so I'm pretty happy right now.
Here's where things went wrong.
So we spun around and went into the bay where they had the lift so they could rotate the tires and said it was alright for us to stay in the car. I was an idiot for not thinking twice about this but I digress. So we're up on the lift, just waiting as they do their job, and then we're at an angle. Its an interesting sensation when you're in a vehicle and said vehicle falls forward off a lift. That's right, it fell off the lift.
Now I've only heard about stuff like this happen online on hear 8th party horror stories like this, but holy crap. Please note that we're both fine, we were just shaken up as usually only people who fall over cliffs or bridges ever really experience. So from here what does the owner and employees do? They get a jack, ratchet my car back onto the lift(more or less), using the jack not just to push my frame back into shape, but also to keep my car stable on the lift, with both of us still in the car.
They finish the tires and then act like nothing happened and try to get me to leave the shop. Now I wasn't going to leave without a written statement because I have no idea what sort of damage that my car may have sustained, but the owner wasn't being cooperative to say the least and tried to use the existing damage to my bumper to say that everything was fine and nothing happened at all.
At this point I had to call the police. To say the least, the owner was furious, but he still admit that my car fell off the lift, and with both of us in it. I let the police know in advance about the prior damage to my bumper(darn you Ohio!!!), and told the officers about said prior damage when they arrived. They took the report, I contacted the insurance company, and to say the least, they were surprised as well as they had never heard of this ever happening before either.
As the owner and employees were more than pissed at us(you know, because we didn't roll over and let them get away with it), I gave them the Oil Change place's information and they're gathering their insurance information incase there really is damage to my vehicle beyond the bumper. Luckily the gas station down the road gave me some rope(thank goodness for being a regular) and with that and a little duct tape, its not flapping around for the moment.
Again, happy thanksgiving everyone.

Only hours to go!
General | Posted 14 years agoIts getting exciting everyone, mere hours remain before the start of season 2! We're moving as fast as our hooves can take us right now to get the site up and running to keep up with everything going on.
To keep everyone busy, here is a fantastic meme that we think you can try your hooves at. Give a loud round of applause to
Mirelmture for this wonderful and well thought out tool for everyone to play with.
http://mirelmture.deviantart.com/#/d4a0ui5 Enjoy!
Additionally we are releasing some more of our mascots for Brony.org, we hope that you like them. Please treat us kindly.
On a different note entirely,
wolfwhite is looking for fellow bronies that can play the violin. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2720010/ We're not sure what he's planning, but drop on by and ask to see what he's up to(as we have no idea what he's doing).

General | Posted 14 years agoIts been one heck of a rollercoaster here since SDCC. In that time we've hit San Diego, Otakon, Gencon, IFC, as well as Ramencon. This weekend was to be a big push at Canada Fan Expo when disaster struck. Last night after registering for the weekend we explored around for a bit in the evening, checked out the MLP exclusive, and went back to the parking garage only to learn that my rear window had been smashed in and my friend's computer had been stolen. I'm currently back state-side due to this misfortune, but we will attempt to make it back out to pick up some of the exclusives to give-away after the relaunch.
On that note, the site relaunch is getting closer by the day. More content, more functions, and a whole lot more for the community. There will be a lot to offer, and a big amount that we feel artists will appreciate. We shall also be doing a staff push in the near future to help wit the function of the site.
Up next is a fun tidbit that was passed our way. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2654170/ Its always interesting to see how things can be when we're used to seeing/hearing what we're used to, then seeing it in a different light. Yes, there are now Japanese fandubs of MLP:FiM floating around on YouTube, and its really amusing to witness.
Next on our cross-continent pony tour is Dragon*Con in Atlanta next weekend. Its going to be something awesome as there shall be much brony goodness happening all weekend long. If you're going to be around, please drop us a line.
Last little bit, it would seem that not all is well in Equestria as our little
dey-chan has had her artwork stolen as you can see here. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2660735/ Please give her a hand as she, and others have fallen prey to this art thief.

We're going to be promoting all weeknd long and will be talking further to Hasbro about some of the things that we've been looking into doing with Brony.org. Just a few more days to go, look for us by the fan tables upstairs. While we don't have our own table(sadness), we'll be hanging out with the other tables most o the time. Keep an eye out for our shirts(yes, we'll have some with us), a big Rainbow Dash shirt, and maybe wings(airport depending).
We look forward to seeing evryone this weekend!

General | Posted 14 years agoSo we're now getting much closer to getting the website up, and its time to hear from everyone what they want to see on Brony.org. There's just so much going on that we want to make sure that the site is everything that you want it to be. There will be art, there will be forums, there will be a proper fan community. But that's not all, there is so much more that we want to bring to you, and we want to make sure that this happens. Let's here what you want see.

Getting closer!
General | Posted 14 years agoWell, AC was an absolute blast! Thanks again to everyone who stopped by the booth and joined in the fun. Now with some of the teasers making their way out, we're making progress on getting the site up and running! A very special thanks to the leader of the Ace of Spades for her graphical help as her skills were very instrumental in making our awesome shirts happen, and a giant round of applause to
deerock-gorilla for designing not only our logo and his help with the flyers, but also for being one of the awesome people who helped make MLP: FiM happen. Another loud round of applause for the incredible
dey-chan for all of her help with our flyers and promo banner! There's so much in the works right now, and its going to get exciting really fast.
Lastly, we should have the next batch of shirts ready hopefully in the next few days. Again our thanks for all of the support over the weekend, and to
sophiecabra for helping to make the convention 20% cooler!
