I'm back
Posted 12 years agoIt's been quite a while since I last posted, but I'm hoping to have marked my return to FA, starting with a sorta new-ist piece.
"Beginning" - AKA, First night out
Posted 13 years agoWell...
First off, I apologise if I do go on about this a bit, I'm still getting used to the changes in lifestyle associated with coming out. Second, thanks to Ukent for the journal name.
I finally summed up the drive to go out to a gay-friendly (although specifically, it's a place that happily serves gay, straight and lesbian) bar that was holding an 80s night on Saturday. It was a bit awkward on my own to begin with, but I soon bumped into a female friend who I hadn't seen in ages... where we were both equally surprised to learn of the other's orientation. Knowing that I now have someone I can talk to about this sort of stuff who happens to live locally is a significant relief.
Although she had to pop out for a while, I passed the better part of that intermission playing pool with some straight female patrons, and eventually with my friend once she'd returned. As the night wound on I danced, sang and drank with her, her partner, a gay male friend of theirs and another bloke I recognised from my local routine who I was also surprised to see there.
All in all, aside from skinning part of my finger, I had a fantastic night... as well as two separate offers to kip on people's sofas, and an offer from a guy to play pool which I regretfully had to decline.
Suffice to say, I will be back there this coming Saturday (Saturdays are traditionally the places' gay night, although I don't plan on restricting myself just to those).

Out of the closet
Posted 13 years agoA year ago, I'd posted about a young and attractive guy I'd seen at the cinema, and feeling the pang of going after something that once upon a time I was told I shouldn't (reminds me of that song, "Ever fallen in love [with someone you shouldn't've]" by the Buzzcocks). A lot's happened since then, but the end result is, I can now be truely honest with myself.
Since that post, I've come out of the closet to my brothers, and several close friends... the people I felt the most comfortable... and confident, in telling that I was gay.
Last night, I came out to my Mum, who was incredibly understanding and supportive despite the bombshell news... and feeling that support and confidence, I made the next big step: informing my Facebook circle.
It's taken years to realise it, and months to come to terms with it, but I'm comfortable now with who I am.
I'm 26 years old, an artist, and I'm gay.
(but then, my gallery would've been a rather big indiactor of that, wouldn't it?)

Wanting what we can't have is horribly, horribly painful
Posted 14 years agoI think I've experienced my first major case of lustful angst.
I was at the cinema today and prior to the film starting, a guy in a sleeveless top (which struck me as utterly inappropriate given how cold it was outside) sat down several rows in front of me. Once the film had ended I was able to get a good enough look at him, and despite the tattoos and odd choice of a band with what looked like pearls circumventing one arm, I could barely take my eyes off of his beautiful deltoids, biceps and triceps... here I was, utterly drawn to him and I knew full well I couldn't show any appreciation for his natural prowess.
It was positively painful, and I'm not sure how to digest the experience.
It's only been about a month or so since I came to terms with the fact I'm probably gay, and that I felt the courage to even tell one of my closest friends, as well as some of my family of my likely preference.
It makes me wish to an extent that I had a friend who had already traveled this road I'm embarking down, so that there'd be someone I could get advice from.
So here I am, writing an extremely angsty journal... and the film I saw? The Adjustment Bureau. An excellent film, with some pretty neat chase sequences.

How to Train Your Dragon (and melt a cinemagoer's heart)
Posted 15 years agoWell... what can I say?
I absolutely loved How to Train Your Dragon... I think it's been quite some time since a movie really spoke to me in the way HTTYD did... and frankly, I think it is by far the best movie Dreamworks has ever made... the quality is up there with Pixar, and in this case could even rival it.
It was full of heart and an incredbly level of work... they crafted something that to the casual observer looks like a standard kids' flick, but is so uniquely different... there's one decision in particular (which I won't detail due to spoilers) that they made which I felt added a significant level of realism I don't think has been seen before in a children's film... and despite it, it gave more to the character in question then it took away.
I was also charmed by how the production depicted the friendship of Hiccup and Toothless, as well as their characterisation... and there were moments that were genuinely funny because they were touching, not because of some witty bit of dialogue or act.
The film has a marvellous score by John Powell... which I played religiously on YouTube before my physical copy actually arrived. One of the best and uplifting I've heard in years.
And the characters are all memorable and unique.
I'm happy to say I've managed to get a figure of Toothless and a figure of Hiccup, and I approach the announcement of a sequel with hope and a strong desire they put as much effort into the production of the sequel, as was plyed to the original.
If you're still on the fence, I implore you to see it... you will not regret it. How To Train Your Dragon has become so universally adored... I don't think I've seen someone say a bad thing about it.
And yes... whilst there will be art inspired by it in this gallery in the not too distant future, unlike Planet 51, I didn't think about the adult art angle of HTTYD until several days after seeing the film... it wasn't in my mind before I went to see it.
See the film, you'll fall in love with it.

Pornfic
Posted 15 years agoWell, I've just posted my first (and last) porn fic.
The project was interesting, done specially for a Planet 51 forum with an open mind to interpretations of the film.
However, writing it was far more difficult then I expected, due to the... uh... distraction of writing it.
So whilst interesting to have a go at, I'm sticking to my calling as a furry artist. :)
Commission info is coming, it's just been sidelined.
My next piece will be based on Nightcrawler, and after that there'll be an original creation.

Taking a break from Planet 51 & minor Commission update.
Posted 15 years agoUndoubtedly this is a wise decision, but I'll be taking a short break from making pieces based on Planet 51, I'll be concentrating on art based on other licenced properties, as well as a few original pieces I'm sure you folks like.
I will be back on Planet 51 in the not-too-distant future.
Additionally, I will be getting that Commission info up soon.

Commission News
Posted 16 years agoI won't go into the specifics right now, but I hope to have some news regarding commission work for those of you who would be interested in getting a piece or pieces (hint) done by me.
Stay tooned!

Back to work
Posted 16 years agoWell, I told you I was only on a break. :) Here's a small preview of what will be the newest addition to my gallery (cencored nudity, but still not safe for work):
http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/.....2/previewg.jpg
This piece, tentatively titled "Heavenly body" (although subject to change if I find something more appropriate) features Lem from the new CGI animation Planet 51 which is being released by Sony in November:
Planet 51: Movie Trailers
The finished piece should be up by the end of next week at the latest.

Inactivity
Posted 16 years agoYou may have noticed that recently I've been pretty inactive here. I've recently had a lot of work to get through in my life but it's now been completed... and with the exception of a few small bits its done for good, so I'm hoping to have some nice art updates over the course of the summer.
So stick around, there'll be plenty of TMNT and Gargoyles material to cum. ;)

A View to A Thrill
Posted 16 years agoA new project and direction, this will be my first comic strip and will add a bit of variety to the gallery to complement and contrast the collection of pinup pieces I've done.
I hope you enjoy it, and don't hold it agains me. :)

Back after slight hiatus
Posted 17 years agoI can't believe it's been about a month since I last uploaded a piece of work.
Unfortunately time flies when you're bogged down with coursework, but as you can see, I'm back now.
Hope you enjoy my latest piece, featuring everyone's favourite teenage dinosaur, he's been one of my favourite characters for a while now, and it felt good to finally get him posted...
The versions with him covered in cum are bound to make you guys feel real good. ;)

I now have a face
Posted 17 years agoGreetings Furaffinity, sorry I've been in hiding until recently but getting around to depicting myself has taken a bit longer then I initially thought.
The final piece isn't up yet, but for now you can get an idea of my fursona through my avatar.
I look forward to doing many more pieces in the future, and I can tell you now that Brooklyn will be making a reappearance at some point, and that he won't be the only Gargoyle to eventually grace my gallery. For now my next planned project will be of a certain fuzzy elf of the Marvel Universe.
