I have some questions for you, I am realizing I am often the last to find out about furry news, the latest trends, where everyone is hanging out, ect. I don't really chat with anyone, I am more of a passive reader/listener so maybe you guys could help me out:

1) If furaffinity still king of furry websites with the most active users? what about that facebook like furry website that i signed up for and promptly forgot about(what was its name again?)? Did everyone else forget about it too, Or am i just a stubborn old donkey that is hanging out over here on FA.

2) where do you get your furry news? forums? podcasts? anything like that, if you have a good link please point me too it, I would love to be more involved in the furry community. podcasts are the best since then I can just listen while i am working

3) I can't think of anything else, feel free to ad any further information that I appear to be completely lacking in. learn me some tings.

So I am really digging the new speed paint style I am developing, you can think of it as a hybrid between the cell-shading I am doing and my digital paintings. They are characterized by dark lines with painterly shading and a lot of texture.
I am going to be removing cell-shaded digital from my commission list and replacing it with this style, since I have found my comic-shaded is starting to be too similar to it as I increase the detail of that style.

Anyway I wanted to try the style on just a couple commissions first and at a reduced price to get a feel for working on commissions in the new style.
(I have already done a number of concept arts and practice speedpaints, many which are only available on my Patreon).

So I am offering 3 spots for up to 3 characters with simple backgrounds (no character sheets).

The prices are as follows:

1 Character: 50 USD
per additional character: 35 USD
Simple Background: 30 USD

I'm still determining what the final prices will be but they will for sure be more then listed here. these first few will help me gauge how to price them. :)

So I have been doing this with people that have been private messaging me about commissions and thought that in the effort of fairness I should post publicly as well:
I am currently taking a waitlist for commissions in September, I am pretty busy until then but will be able to take on some more work then. If you are serious about wanting to get a commission in September send me a note or email letting me know:

1) A general idea of what the commission will be
2) A link to a character sheet, or reference image or brief written description(If needed I will ask for more information when I start work)
3) What level of commission you would like (comic shaded, cell-shaded, digital painting, comic ect.)

I will get back to you to confirm you are on the waitlist and when I am able to take on your commission I will message you before and make sure we are all good to start before I will start work.

I can only take a limited number on my waitlist to avoid disappointment later on, I will post here when my waitlist is full.

So I have started a new FA page for The Stable, go check it out if you love the comic, everything is all neatly organized there!

I started the new page because I was finding I just had too much stuff for one page, and would like to separate my art from the comic, that way if you just want to see my art you can watch this page or if you just want to read the comic and get comic content you can watch  thestable's page. In the end it will mean more content on each page because I won't be as concerned with spamming watchers with content they aren't interested in.

I spent the better part of the evening getting all my comics, character questions, and stable commissions uploaded. I have also sorted things by types of commissions, characters and different comics so you can easily see all the art of your favorite character.

The other big reason I got this new page is because I would like to share any fan art I get on that page. I love getting fan art, it just makes my day! If you make some fan art of The Stable's characters send me a note and I will post it on  thestable!


So after uploading everything and then logging back in here I find two messages from concerned watcher's letting me know about The Stable page and asking if it's someone impersonating me, thank you so much! You guys rock! Its so nice to see you got my back and are letting me know about potential art theft, I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :) :) :)

I am totally in love!

So disappointing, I think my new computer has had a hardware failure, it just went into the blue screen of death while I was working in photoshop and kept resetting and going blue screen of death again, luckily I have had it for such a short period of time that I am able to return it and get another computer sent to me. But this is going to seriously delay my work for the next bit as I have to go back to my slow as molasses laptop until the new PC arrives, and then I have to go back through all the same BS of setting it up again. *sigh*
Anyway there might be a gap in art for the next little while and I deal with all this >.>

Edit: the store took it back no problem, but I have to wait 10 days for the new computer to arrive, so yah, april is gonna be a slow month art wise. DX

Hey lovelies,

I have been hard to get a hold of the last couple days, I just had my birthday and took a couple days off and then the new work computer I bought just arrived two days ago. I am in the process of getting it set up, and currently don't have any internet not it, so I am going back and forth between my laptop and new desktop with only one set of keyboard and mouse, which is not very conducive to getting back to emails and such.
I have been using an old second hand laptop for years now and it was getting so laggy I could barely draw a single thin line without lag, it was driving me totally nuts so I finally bit the bullet and got some financing on a new computer. I have been working on it and holy crap is it amazing! No lag at all, its like drawing in real time, omg.
Anyway on monday I get the internet receiver for it (or at least I should if amazon has their shit together) and then I get to start the lengthy process of getting everything all set up.
So basically what I am saying is: sorry I have been hard to get a hold of, and that will continue until early next week when I should be back into the full swing of thing :)
ANNDDD once I am back in the new swing of things I will probably be able to do larger more detailed and more art because I don't have to deal with lag! yay! :D

Hey lovelies!

I survived my trip to colombia and central america! I had an amazing time and am feeling so motivated and inspired by my time away, I am very exhausted at the moment(I just arrived home a couple hours ago), but I'm really excited to get back into some art tomorrow! Expect to see some YCHs and comic pages posted very soon and a new price list will be rolling out before the end of the month. :)

Thanks for sticking with my while I took this much needed break, it was some serious mental medicine! And now its time to get right back into it! :)

If your on the north west coast of North America I am going to Vancoufur very soon! I would love to say hi to some of my watchers! I'll be decked out full sparkle cow for the weekend and with my bestie  sabretoothedermine!

Since I joined FA. Wow! Time flies :)

Oh look today's feature is another artist that specializes in horses and hoofers  CandyMare its so strange that the artists that watch me and thus have heard about the advent calendar like to draw horses, can't imagine why :P
Anyway Candymare has a super cute pink and white character and does a lot of really great horses. I love their stockier style for the feral horses, they looks so chunky and cute.

I love zebras and this one is so awesome. I like how the stripes are done even more detailed then a real zebra, they must have taken so long, but they are so beautiful. I think the anatomy is really well done on this illustration, *all* the anatomy ;)
I also like the selection of the background color and the cool patterns to give it some depth, it really works with the black and white with the blue ribbons. Also the zebra's expression is just perfect, very coy. :)

I figured a image yesterday with a similar color scheme, obviously it just tickles my fancy. I love the anatomy in this one, especially those long perfectly balanced legs. The twist in the hips makes this image much more dynamic then a simple side view but still gives up the benefits of a side view (it is easy to see the characters markings and anatomy) I love the flow of the mane, and also the colors of the mane, and the blue/green magic swirling off of it just really works well with the whole image. I also like the glowing eye and sheath, it breaks up the darkness of the character very well. :)
