I'm still alive I swear
General | Posted 19 years agoSorry about my lack of existance lately, I've been very busy.
I am no longer working full time, but it's show season, and I've just gotten my gelding, George going really well english. I was in a show earlier today, both his and my first show(excluding that one class at the fair on my friends horse). He was very nervous, couldn't hold still the whole time, but despite that I ended up with one 4th place, and two fifths. There were 6 horses in each class, except the last which only had five(which I got 5th in >>) but overall, I think he did pretty well for his first show.
I've also sold my horse Freddy. the one I thought was going to be lame for life, I bought him for 900 and sold him for 2300, so I'm pretty happy. On top of all of this I've found another horse I am probably gonna by, I cute little paint mare, 4 years old, and never been ridden, she'd be a fun little project for the winter.
Art wise I've been to busy to do much, I have a couple pictures that I could put online, but I'm not doing so until I get some of these commissions done. Sorry guys, I'm hopelessly slow, this is why I'm not taking anymore for a good long while. >>

I stubbed my baby toe yesterday, and somehow managed to fuck it up good. I had to leave work early yesterday because I couldn't walk. I've spent the day laying around the house feeling sorry for myself. The entire corner of my foot is blue, as is the toe. It's all swollen and I can't put any weight on it. This sucks alot because I was training to compete in competitive sparring at Tae Kwon Do, but now I have to take a good while off, also I can't ride or work. >> being the active, not-able-to-sit-still type of mule that I am this sucks big time. >.>
On a good note it does mean I have alot of time to work on art, so you may see more work from me.
I've decided I really need to work on my anatomy, so I've been drawing alot from refs lately, here's a pic I drew earlier this evening, of a mule. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/38814177/
I probably won't upload most of this practice art because, well, it sucks :P but hopefully it will help my finished pictures
Oh, and before I forget, thank you so much Blackwater and Dharken! you guys are awesome. Both have recently surprised me with gift art. ^^

Tool and Vancouver
General | Posted 19 years agoSo I got back yesterday from my super short(24 hour) trip too the big city(vancover) to see Tool. Vancouver is so awesome, we stayed at a hostel, it was dirty, but had such a kool atmosphere. The concert was amazing, best show I've ever seen, after it was over we all just sat in amazement for a good 10 minutes :P
Anyway, I picked up a sexy new brush tip outlining pen, and I love it, makes inking so fun. So you may start to see more ink work from me.
Oh, I've also decided that I gotta sketch up both a tentacle rape picture, and a vore picture. Because you know, a gallery just isn't complete without those :P
so expect some more art from me soon, just as soon as I finish this set of commissions(or maybe before then :P)
I think for commissions in the future I am just gonna take them one at a time, that way I won't have to juggle so much , maybe I'll do the furbid thing like I've seen a few artists do.

General | Posted 19 years agoThat's right, I bought myself I cute little molly mule named Babe. She's the cutest little thing, doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Half arab.
So now the mule has a mule. ^^

Update on the horse
General | Posted 19 years agoWell, good news today. My farrier came out rather unexpected today and said he wanted to deal with the problem. Freddies hooves had gotten very long, and we decided to try giving them a aggressive cutting back, which would leave him lame for a couple days, but should help him balance more on his toes, and thus alleviate his pain.
There was a chance with the cut that we could injure him further and he would be lame for life. But seeing as he always seemed to be I agreed to it.
Freddy did incredible well with the cut, he was a bit sensitive, but is sound and happy. When we cut them back we found a deep rooted absess in his hoof!
This could be the reason for his unsoundness and it may not be navicula.
The absess has been around for a while, and was very deep in the hoof, but my farrier managed to find the pocket, and burst it, once it's drained it can heal and then he should be alright.
This doesn't mean he doesn't still have navicula, but it's becoming alot less likely. :)

Oh yah, update on the horse, I am probably taking him out the race track to have a vet look him over, but i don't think it's gonna help much. He's happy and sound just out in the feild, which is good, but I am afraid to ride him again. I've gotten over the initial shock of the whole ordeal. there isn't anything I can do about it, so no point getting upset. At least my other horse is sound and ready to go, I'd go nuts if I couldn't ride at all.
Anyway, overall I'm feeling alot better today, thanks everyone for your support, it was appreciated. :)

Well, the horse I bought a year ago to train and sell has turned up with navicula syndrome(or so it seems like) and is lame now even at a walk. I don't know what I am gonna do with him, I sure as hell can't sell him, and I am gonna have a hard time giving him away. I bought him for 900$ of the race track, which is alot of money for me, plus over a year of shoeing and now it's all gone to waste.
I'm out all the money I've spent on him and I don't even have 400$ left over, there's no way I can afford another horse. I bought him from someone I trusted, and did not have a vet check because I thought I could trust them, that's blow up in my face. Sometimes I wish there were just a few honest people in the horse industry.
It's a real tragity, he had a ton of potential. He could have made a great jumper, or english horse, or even a trail horse, he's sensible enough. This is what he looks like.

I have still been working on commissions, but I'm at a stage where I'm doing more waiting then sketching. I suppose I could go all 'I need money, commission me!!!omfg" But I try not to be like that. I'm in no money troubles or anything, it's just a lose I would have rather not had. >>

I am so excited, I'm actually surprised I got everything together for it.
I've had the craziest week, no time for art, sorry guys. I haven't had to much inspiration either, but I'm sure I'll get over it after grad. anyway, you many not seem me around for the next couple days. Got grad tomorow, concert on friday, and it's cananda day on sat. ^^
Oh yah, and I'm sure I'll post a pic or two of my dress, it has purdy rockies on it, and I got a corset to wear underneith. :)

General | Posted 19 years ago I know what to name my new stally characters! thanks to all the suggestions I got, but when I was searching for names for driving teams I found Xanthos and Balios which were Achilles' chariot bearers. I think they are cool names, so yah. Xanthos will be the one with the stripe down his nose and Balios will be the one with the star. :)
