General | Posted 4 months agoMy laptop was sent in to be repaired and I won't have it for about a couple of weeks. Thankfully, I have a backup I will use to finish any remaining work. Music c0mms will need to wait, unfortunately.
If anything goes wrong, I will offer full refunds for any inconveniences. I will not accept any new c0mms at this time, and will open them again once I am in a good place.

General | Posted a year agoMy laptop that I've had for 6 years has finally kicked the bucket. Because of this, I'll be postponing commissions and other projects until further notice.
If I have problems later on where I cannot fulfill in finishing commissions, I will be giving full refunds to the customers who have commissioned me.

Recently, I got two comments on two of my songs on here. One was from a
Pippilore and the other was from a 
Gogopixl, both of which commented the same thing. The comment was a YouTube link to a recording of a band performance. Nothing too malicious, but it was still weird. I decided to look into their accounts, and lo-and-behold, their accounts were basically that: Spammed comments of various links to various sources. Check their favorites shows them doing exactly that, their leaving replies of different links of YouTube videos, other FA artworks, etc.
As of writing this, I got comments from a
Demo0991 that shared a link to 
dmf 's cover of "Hill Stream Blues" from Bubsy.
These "bots" are constantly leaving these types of comments on mostly audio-related submissions and blocking them does seem to do something. However, blocking them might not always be the solution.

I just wanted to make this journal to tell you all that you guys are amazing and I never would've improved my craft if it wasn't for everyone that stood alongside me. I've made some neat friends on hear and outside of this site and I've never would've expected this! I just want to thank you all for that. I have wrote out plans I've been wanting to accomplish for this year, but before that, a little retrospect of 2023.
To me, the year 2023 was a pretty busy one for me, as well as an experimental one. For one, I've got myself a job, meaning that I didn't have as much free time as I used to. I did find ways to make art, however, and I was able to experiment more with my art. I may draw fanart, but I also experimented more with original pieces revolving around my characters. With this type of approach in art-making, I honestly felt that my art wasn't as interesting as I'd wanted it to be. Sometimes, I felt that my art was same-y and I could've pushed myself further. I've also noticed that I didn't participate in many events, either. Not that I participated in the first place, there's always an anniversary to a game or piece of media I enjoy where I want to pay my respects. I hardly had the time to make new art, instead I opted out and just shared older pieces. Life had other plans for me, and I had to accept what was given.
I don't want to just focus on the negatives, there were also some positives here, too! For one, I participated in Super Mario RPG collab where I shared my love for the game by drawing a character from it. I made some new friends from commissions, ArtFight and social media! Even though I wasn't able to up my game in my art, I used my limitations to the best of my ability to be creative and I managed to have fun while doing it!
Today is now January 1st, 2024, and I wrote me up a resolution for this year in terms of art and my creative process. I hope to start this year off with new and original ideas for my originals and I want to study some more dynamic scenes. For fanart, I hope to try out some new games and experience new media; I made a post last year asking what others wanted to see more and what games they'd like me to make fanart for and I failed to come through with it. It made me feel bad that I spent more time on the same ideas. I make fanart based on my experiences playing it, so I try to add every aspect about it into the piece. With that said, I hope to try out new games. I feel that this is beneficial for me instead of just basing art off of someone else's input (if that makes any sense). Something new I want to try is game development since it's been on my mind for decades now, and I hope to bring my creations to life. In addition to my art, I want to spend more time creating pieces that are meaningful instead of making something in a day. I also hope that this will improve my online presence in a way and I want to try to inspire others, too.

I got blocked by someone I never interacted with. Never seen them before, yet they JUST watched me and faved a work of mine. My existence is enough for them to both watch me and block me at the same time.
Why bother watching me then? Why bother faving something I made?

Creating a new character and I need your help!

As some of you may know, I have a character named Ocho, a yo-yo-wielding spider with a retro aesthetic. For those unfamiliar, click this to view the dedicated gallery. Got a good look? Good, now you know.
For a while now, I've been conceptualizing a love interest for Ocho. I'm still working out the kinks of this new character's personality. My question here is what insect should she be? I've been debating between these two insects: a butterfly and a bumblebee.
What do you guys think? Butterfly or Bumblebee? :O

Taking A Break

It's not often I write these journal entries, mainly because I keep to myself. I'm writing this because, well, I've been feeling this way for the past week now. I'm going to take a break from art and music for awhile, I've been feeling less motivated to do these things and feel that it is time to give them a rest. I guess you can say that I'm experiencing art block, since I can't think of anything artsy at the moment.
Besides that, I want to focus on my schoolwork. School's been keeping me busy, especially with the Fall Semester being half-way finished, and I need to focus on finishing up this semester as well as enrolling for the Spring Semester.
TL;DR, Taking a break because of school and a lack of motivation.
I won't be gone for long, I just don't have the time to do personal art is all. I need some time off to focus on important things.

I'm hoping for the best this year. I'm not sure what my New Year's Resolutions are yet, since there's plenty of stuff I hope to try out.
