I know my activity on here has been, as of late, spotty to say the least but I come bearing great news! I have finally finished my time-sucking large commission, something I'm really excited about. I was approached by an author to work with them to illustrate a specialty children's book. This woman, who I've known most of my life, has started a therapeutic horseback riding program after a lifetime of owning horses and instructing riders. This hippotherapy/EAL program, called Freedom Horse, Inc. has become very successful, and she wrote a book about it, aimed towards the children and families that would be participating. The book in from the point of view of one of the EAP-certified horses, Sam, who is a retired pacer adopted by her.

Anyways, she approached me in January to illustrate her story, and as of the beginning of this week, I have completed my project! So, barring any problemas, I will be a published children's book illustrator in two month's time! I am super excited, as is my bank account (now I can pay this month's student loans!). I will definitely keep you guys posted about more news concerning this. I don't know if I will upload every page here publicly, maybe I will pick a selection, or a preview. :3

I leave Monday for my trip to Florida for Elliott's Spring Gathering, and hanging out with my Flow-Ridah crew. Chances are, I will be bouncing around from place to place, considering everyone's busy schedules! But I will definitely be partying it up on the weekend, and participating in at least one delicious Taco Tuesday. And a trip to Universal to partake in my ANNUAL PAAAASSSS. I can't wait to see everyone!

Also, Anthrocon! We have encountered a small hotel issue, with a lack of definitive roommates. :c And from what I'm seeing, the hotels seem to be all sold out. Balls. I mean, I'm pretty sure that definitely has more resources/watchers than me, but hear our pleas! :c We are two quiet, chill and clean gurls who probably don't take up that much space (no fat jokes). BUT YEAH ANTHROCON, COME BY OUR DEALER'S TABLE, I'M PRETTY SURE WE'RE BOOKED UNDER QUERULOUS. Our super secret name is BUFFALO WINGS. DO YOU GET IT? Buffalo...final flight...? -elbow nudge- AH I'M SO EXCITED TO GO AGAIN, I MISSED GOING LAST YEAR AND REGRETTED IT IMMENSELY.

Four Jobs I've Had

- Art school TA. Back in high school, I used to be a teaching assistant at my art school. Solidified my conviction that I should never teach art to any age. Forever cleaning brushes, foreverrrr.
- Ice cream slinger. It was started up by one of my best friend's dad, and was generally the most awesome job ever, best summer. Golly, I miss working there.
- CSR at craft store chain. No, not Michael's or Jo-An's however. Been doing that so far almost 5 years, ehh. It's miserable work, but it pays the bills. I like my co-workers for the most part.
- Children's book illustrator. Been working on my first to-be published work right now! Stay tuned c:

- Montauk, NY. Again, another yearly vacation, with my longest best friends. I have taken to sleeping on the back deck, right on the water of the bay. Falling asleep to the sight of all the stars.
- I go to Orlando, FL a lot to visit my true love  finalflight and a smelly cat  pursuit too, I guesssss.
- I went to Old Orchard Beach in Maine, once! It was fantastic!

DETAILS ABOUT MY TRIP~

I am leaving from NY on Thursday afternoon with  sapphire to fly into ATL...how we get from the airport to the hotel is beyond me, but I'm sure we will get there, lol. Enjoying FWA to the fullest, because it is the funnest con! Having fun is my first concern. And then after the con, I get to spend a full week my my Orlando buddies and staying with  FinalFlight and  jynxed89 at their pad! Harry Potter land, get ready for me!

I have a crazy huge deadline due at the end of the month, so hopefully I can crunch it all in...I'm sure I can. C: CHILDREN'S BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS ARE HARDDDDDD.
