Mold making, casting help
Posted 12 years agoI've got quite a couple projects in the works and I'd really like to be able to "mass" produce these little things. I see people doing resin casting on here (a la Miss Monster) and I'd like some direction. Anybody have any tips?
Trade vectorization for a print?
Posted 13 years agoI have an image I need made into a vector, but I lack the programs and know-how to do so.
So I propose a trade.
Either a simple drawing, or a block print of one of the pictures listed here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3385084/
If you're interested, please let me know. It's a drawing of a bulldog face, shouldn't be too difficult!

Posted 13 years agoA time lapse of my very good friend doing a big ol' charcoal portrait of Bukowski, set to a song another good friend of mine did to compliment the piece. I love my friends.

molten gravy bubbles through
chicken and dumplings
The cold permeates
it takes roost within your bones
flesh and blood tundra
Your exhale has such
a deep bass rumble that I
thought I heard thunder
Momentary dawn
of another car's headlights
over the next hill
Something sensual
about the clean smell of sweat
in that baseball shirt
With nothing to say
together on the sofa
we bond over Bond
The dishes are done
meatloaf is in the oven
finally some rest
I wake up late
the house is quiet except
the stampeding cats
Jumping on counters
scratching up the furniture
kittens: amirite?

Gallery Showing, give me some ideas
Posted 14 years agoI have a showing coming up and the owner of the coffee shop was really taken with my brightly colored stuff I've been doing lately. I'll probably end up just painting old sketches I have for the most part, but I was wondering if you guys had any ideas for me!
The art will be shown on a bright yellow wall, and she said she'd like the art to go well with the decor (yellow wall, also a nice peacock blue and sort of burnt orange, very bold colors and some brick) so it wouldn't matter if it was up for a long time.
I'm going to turn my little frenchies into a mobile, and the panther will be up for sure.
What are you favorite sketches of mine? What sorts of themes and subjects do you think would look good in bright, bold colors?

Posted 14 years agoBeautiful day out
Posted 15 years agoIt's flippin 50 degrees here, it should be all week, so I decided now would be a good time to start running, like I've been meaning to.
Holy hell what a disgusting pass time. Snot rockets and loogies galore. Sick.
I feel way better though and I look forward to taking advantage of this weather while we have it. I'm signing up at the Y for when it's gone so I can take classes and go swimming and all that fun stuff to fend off any winter blues.
PS Vote, and vote early next year, way less of a pain in the ass.

Old Blue, You Good Dog You
Posted 15 years agoI just stumbled across a book called Old Blue: You Good Dog You by Mark Taylor, illustrated by Gene Holtan. If you find a copy, definitely give it a look, it's gorgeous.

Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design
Posted 15 years agoLast night I went out with one of my friends, and he proposed an idea to me. I need to move out of my dad's house, and I need to get into school, I'm too old for this shit. He suggested that I move to Milwaukee enroll at MIAD and then we can get an apartment together.
So, friend, check; housing, check; wicked sweet opportunity, check. I'm going to get in touch with an advisor or whatever from the school and see what's necessary and I suppose, start busting my ass for a portfolio.
Anything's better then living with my exboyfriend's best friend, which at this moment seems to be my only other option. Yeesh.

Scheherazade
Posted 15 years agoTell me about the dream where we pull the bodies out of the lake
and dress them in warm clothes again.
How it was late, and no one could sleep, the horses running
Until they forget that they are horses.
It’s not like a tree where the roots have to end somewhere,
it’s more like a song on a policeman’s radio,
how we rolled up the carpet so we could dance, and the days
were bright red, and every time we kissed there was another apple
to slice into pieces.
Look at the light through the windowpane. That means it’s noon, that means
we’re inconsolable.
Tell me how all this, and love too, will ruin us.
These, our bodies, possessed by light.
Tell me we’ll never get used to it.

What am I going to do??
Posted 15 years agoNo more new Who until November!
Sure there's the classic stuff I can go back to, but...the new doctor has no eyebrows!
That's going to take some getting used to.
Oh 10th Doctor, I'm going to miss you.
