Yeah, I have to admit hypocrisy on this.

Sure, I'm still baffled about how obssessed many seem with MLP, but I must admit that I mysef grew fonder of that show.

Yes, its better than previous incarnations. Yes, its very entertaining. And yes I watched every episode.

But after the last episode was seen, my interest kinda retired. I will see the new season and all, but even at the height of my interest I was only moderatly interested about it. I didnt brought it up in every conversation, didnt searched the internet for MLP related pics and only fave the occasional picture of it here on FA.

So yeah, I was/maybe am a hypocrite about this whole thing.

So, thought today could be a totally rad day. Had a nice dinner, went grocery shopping with my grandma, and played on my good old DS.

Sadly, the last time I would prolly ever play on it.

Long story short, when tidying up the bookshelf above my desk, an ink bottle fell down and right on my DS. Upper Screen is broken.

I mean...sure, I talked about how I had planned on buying a new DS...but not like this. :<

I thought my old trusty DS would still be alive, maybe used from time to time to trade pokemon from my soulsilver to black and back...But now its pretty much unusable...

 stitch-mimulus said he would try to get a new screen and then fix it, but that can take a while...need to get my DS to him or him here, both would cost a lot, and that doesn't even takes the DS screen itself into cost. Also I would need time so he could visit me.

As for second problem my poor DS's death brought up...what replacement to get?

I do wanted a 3Ds, because I could play my normal DS games on it and still use the old one for my R4 card. Plus all the new 3ds releases.

But now...I have to choose. Get a DSlite, which would mean I could play my R4 and DS games on it, or get a 3DS, which only runs my DS games but not my R4.

So now I ordered a Lite...I know, maybe getting a 3DS would be smarter and then hope for Stitch to fix the other DS. But the chances for that happening are vague, because getting the right materials to fix the DS and fixing it could not work out and that DS is growing old and fragile anyway...had to suffer a lot in his lifetime and is showing it. Besides, right now there are maybe...3 3DS games that interest me...2 if you take away Super Street Fighter 3D, since I can get the vastly superior SSF4 once I buy a PS3 (also planned this year). And some are only variations I could get on the PS3 or Wii or Virtual Console anyway. Besides, I could always buy a 3DS too...would just cost me.

*sigh* tl;dr I'm one unlucky bastard for thinking I could have a week without shit happening.

Its been ages since I posted a journal. How uncommon of me.

Then again I didn't posted anything in a while either (not so uncommon for me) so I guess that evens things out.

Anyway, to update on my rl status.

-I'm still an apprentice cook, I didn't broke down after 2 months of stressful work even though I thought I would. I'm mostly used to it now, just need to steadily improve.

-I bought a Helluvalot games over the last few months, be it for wii, N64 and my newest addition, the Xbox. Yeah, I bought myself an Xbox. And lots of games for it. Most importantly Steel Battalion. Yes, that the one with the complete cockpit controller that sells for 200 bucks or more nowadays. And I love it.

-HOLYSHITFUCK WHY IS GAS SO EXPANSIVE FUCK YOU GASOLINE COMPANIES AGHHHHHH

-I have several things in the making, several stories of course that either get posted alone or together with pics. One is an EFS look of the PCA universe, concerning a space conflict, how my chars get to be in the middle of it and what happened to other fellow PCAers kids in their adult life. One thing I'll love about this is that I finnally will be able to post some sci fi inspired military fiction yay!

Thats it for now, maybe I get bored and post more journals later. But now its time for bed.

Best thing was watching the game while working in the restaurant kitchen, me and my collegues celebrating every goal made by our team.

You know I'm not a Nintendo Fanboy and when they sucked the last two years, I was not holding back to show how much I think they spiraled downward. So you know if I talk good about Nintendo, I mean it and it had credibility.

This years conference was the BEST. Not only of Nintendo's conferences, but of all the conferences of all publishers and developers on E3.

I'm not kidding.

You remember everything the did wrong last year? Like for example showing stuff no one was really interested in, at least no one in the audience and make it up to be big, awesome and the best Nintendo could put out? They fixed that? Basically they showed only stuff people wanted to see, stuff that people were crying for. For years.

-Kid Icarus: Uprising

Yes, you read that right. Goldeneye and Kid Icarus. New games. I shit you not. And they all look brilliant. Of course, trailers look always good, so lets hope they gameplay can deliver on that.

They also showed alot of games that were announced but didnt had much footage on last year, like:

-Golden Sun: Dark Dawn

-Metroid Other M

-Epic Mickey

-Dragon Quest: Sentinels of the Starry Sky

The also showed Wiiparty, which is like Mario Party but without Mario and online. And Just Dance 2. I'm not interested much. Then there was also Mario Sports pack, 11 or so sport games featuring Mario and the crew in one Wii Disk. Not too exciting, but looks actually good and playable.

They also showed what everyone was hyping: The Nintendo 3DS. And they sure know how to market it. The above mentioned Kid Icarus is for it, and darn does it look good, along better Wii graphics. On a handheld. So yeah, in terms of graphic and gameplay possibilities the 3DS kicks Sony's PSP again with this update. Also you can now make 3d pics and videos thanks to two inbuilt cameras, which doesn't sounds too exciting for me but is neat for cam lovers I guess.

What blew my mind hwoever was the announcements of third party games for wii and 3DS. Among them is Konami with -I shit you not- MGS. For either the Wii or 3DS. Yes, the rumor was out there, like, 3 years ago. But they made it. And Capcom wants to bring a new RE title too. EA wants to make a new Assassins Creed and Square Enix a new Kingdom Hearts.

So, game wise, Nintendo already won with so many high quality announcements. But what about thze presentation?

Well, Reggie wasn't as obnoxious as the last times today, so I forgive him. Iwata and Miyamoto were there, and Miyamoto kinda failed at presenting the new Zelda, possibly due to interferences and playing it on a stage and not directly in front of a TV. But he still made it look cool. Then there was the presentation of Epic Mickey gameplay, and WARREN FUCKING SPECTOR aka THE man went onto the stage to talk about it. They also showed some "entertaining" videos of Reggie, Iwata and co playing 3ds and getting sucked into it and (my favorite part) Bowser blasting Reggie in the face with his fire breath. Also interviews about 3rd party developers like for example Hideo Kojima talking about what to do with the 3DS. Aside of that, they had many cool stage effects with special lightning and people seemingly appearing out of nowhere or in cool fashions, and also at the end show cased a nice treat for the gamers - Nintendo not only had many gaming booths with the new Zelda and other games come up out of the ground so people can play the games in the Nokia Theatre, but also hired hundreds of attractive girls with belt-attached 3DS's on them so people can play the new 3DS games, while being near a sexy women.

Nintendo, hands down, I have to apologize. You redeemed yourself by not only announcing and presenting games that casual and hardcore gamers will play, but also presenting them all in good, entertaining ways. You have the best conference of them all.

Lets see how Sony will try to top that. :P

Okay, why do I write a journal like this?

Why do I come up with such an imaginative title for it? *sarcasm*

Answers simple: Because it bugs me a lot.

I saw the footage of 2 the gryphons time at FAU on youtube. And this just reminded me how much I want to go to a fucking con. The wish was always there since I knew those things existed. And I'm not just talking about furry convention.

Furry con, gaming con, anime con or cons that overlap all of these things, I always wanted to go there. I see so much footage of people like Derek Alexander aka the Happy Video Game Nerd or Brentalfloss of cons like MAGfest or SGC, or TV footage of cons like the Leipzig Games Convention by GameONE's (GameONE is a german gamers TV show, extremly fun to watch) awesome moderators Simon and Budi. And yeah, these people are professionals, those are not your everyday congoer but celebrities. But then I hear reports of friends of mine like  xylen or  luircin who are not or at least not extreme celebrities and who tell me how much effing fun these cons are.

And yes, I know cons are not perfect, neither gaming cons or furry cons or shit, I know there is a lot of unnerving shit going on, often not even backstage, be it among con goers or because of regulations of the con holders or shit, but even with these negative things cons seem to still be a whole bucket of fun.

And I so fucking want to participate in one.

But there are a few problems preventing this.

-Country: I have nothing against my country, but in terms of major cons for gamers, anime lovers and furries...not so great. Sure, we have the Eurofurence, Europes biggest furry con, happning here in germany (east germany to be precise), for anime lovers there are a few cons which name I forgot and for gamers there the Games Convention in Leipzig, which is not only named the new E3 (seeing how the real E3 sucks ass and less and less developers and distributors go there, while they all turn their eyes to good old germany) but also has big amounts of anime and not-electronic gaming going on. But still, most of the cool and big conventions happen over in the US. MAGfest, FAU, FC, AC, SGC, E3 (its not what it was but its still big) to name a few. And also many of my friends online come from the US and of course go to these cons. And yes, there are airplanes and yes, today you got shit cheap airlines like Ryanair but living over here still is a problem con-wise.

-Money: Going to a con costs money. You have to pay for your hotel room, food, transport to and from the con, in many cases registration money so you can partake in it...and often you wanna prolly have something to remember the con, so prolly you will have to buy merchandise or commssions and other things sold at these cons by other congoers (often including games). And I don't have much money, at least not enough to go to one atm. And while my soon-to-be job will provide me with much more stable income, it leads to my next problem...

-Time: I never have time for these cons. In the past I was a student at my school and most cons happen when I have no free time to go, ie out of holiday season for me. Now I will have a job and can set my holidays when I want to (I think), 30 free days per year. But still, I need to distribute these days for a YEAR, means I have to manage them well. And that means family holidays, days when I need to help my family out for a day or so and when i wanna visit my mate or get visited. And that means for cons there wouldn't be much time left.

-Spirit: This is Prolly the worst problem for me. You see, even though I wanna go to a con...I don't have the heart to do it. Or the spirit. Going to a con needs a lot of planning, investment in both time and money and you need to travel alot. And I am shitty in organizing things, too lazy to do stuff and whats worse (and embarrassing) I fear travelling. Yes, I travelled cross country a few times, but even though it was all planned out and shit and safe as possible I was kinda scared. And this is the worst problem that prevents me from ever going to a con.

So, in conclusion, even though I absolutely want to and need to (or else I go crazy) go to a con, I probably never will.

Ah well, lets hope for the future. Nothing else I can do for now.

I know I'm nerding the fuck outta myself with this, but just compare the creation process of a Spartan from Halo: http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/SPARTAN-.....ion_Procedures

...to the process of creating a Space Marine from Warhammer 40k: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Cre.....a_Space_Marine

Its stunning how a Spartan is basically the crappier version of a space marine. Both get organs and implants to help the growing of bones and muscles and ossificate the bones with ceramic compounds. Also both get remodifications and augmentations to their neural systems to enhance their reflexes and make them more stable and to their eyes to make them see better.

But, thats where the similarities end. Look at what a space marines gets. He gets a second heart and an organ that helps creating more red blood cells so that you have a better circulation and oxygen supply and can operate properly even in areas with less oxygen. They get something like a dermal armor that also helps them interact with technology better and helps improve your nervous system. Organs that give you the ability to eat the most poisonous food and gain knowledge from absorbing genetic memory from flesh. A set of lungs that makes you breath poisoned air and even underwater. Ears that give you better hearing and ability to filter out sound. And a gland that makes it able for you to spit poison that can even corrode metal over long time! And thats not all!

So, without their armor the Space Marines could easily kick a Spartans ass in every kinda way and competition. But what about the armor?

I admit that the armor of the Spartans is more based on speed and agility. Not that a Space Marine is slow, but not as fast and agile as a Spartan. And also they can't jump as high. And of course there is the energy shield which is able to regenerate.

But still, a Space Marine could kick a Spartans ass even in armor, no matter if they use weapons or not. a Space Marine armor is extremly heavy and thick, made from adamantium (not the Marvel universe one, though still hard as fuck) and strenghtens the wearers physical power just as much as a Spartans armor does, maybe even more. So while the Space Marine would have trouble hitting the Spartan in melee combat, on a long run the Spartan would have problems putting any real damage to the Space Marine, while the Marine would put damage to the Spartan. Sure, both would regenerate from it given enough time, but I think the Space Marine would over a long run fare way better.

Now we come to the weapons. The Spartan has a two kinds of assault rifles, grenades, shotguns, rocket launchers, a big ass laser as well as the possibility to just steal weapons from the Convenant, which are too many to be described here. Also a big fucking hammer that creates shockwaves.

The Space Marine can use Bolters, Heavy Bolters and Boltguns, basically SMGs, MGs and pistols firing gyrorocket-propelled armor piercing grenades of varying versions, flamethrowers, plasmaguns and larger versions of them, Rocket Launchers, Big ass Laser guns, Chainswords (basically chainsaw swords) and energy swords or hammers, as well as all kinds of hand grenades, from normal HE and frag grenades to grenades that unleash Radiation, stop time or suck you into the warp, the Warhammer 40k's equivalent of Hell.

Well, for the most part I have to say the Space Marines will win. Every weapon the Spartan has to offer either has a bigger, meaner equivalent in the Space Marines Armory, and considering the weapons the Spartan uses and the Armor the Space Marines has, the Spartan would have a hard time putting damage to the Marine.

So yeah, final evaluation? The Spartans of the Haloverse may be bad ass and strong, but they don't stand a chance against Space Marines from Warhammer 40k.

Mhhh, I just realized...I did something of a Deadliest Warrior equivalent here. Only with non existant Fantasy Warriors.

Incidently, Noah Antwiler aka Spoonyone wants to do the same with other fantasy warriors or creatures or groups. So...if you read this Spoony (chances are near zero) then please, if you ever consider doing an episode about this...ask me. I can help you doing that episode. :D

My friend,  stonergriffon is a really good writer. His story series, Tales of the Divide, is a really good fantasy sci fi story series, full of action, comedy and now and then sexual tension and innuendos. And its written very very well, better then any of my stuff.

And yet he has less viewers, views, comments or anything then most of his friends, including me. Normally he wouldn't care much, but recently he hit a depressive phase and feels like he shouldn't be a writer anymore. And when asking people what he should do he gets told to post fanart, bad thing being THERE ISNT ANY!

What my point is: Go to his page. Read his stories. Comment on them. Fave them.

Its sad I have to tell people to go read his stories, but fuck! Everyone who doesn't posts porn or at least half naked art of his or others peoples characters doesn't seems to get recognition around here. -3-

So my question is, these birds can imitate sounds. Certain kinds of parakeets and ravens can imitate sounds and often even speech. But why?

What would that kind of behaviour give them in the free nature?

I read so often about people rejecting government in the US. Some people opposed the US healthcare bill (I will not comment on this here) because they say it makes the government stronger.

THey were all like "Oh I think it has its good points, alot of them and it would be overall a very good reform IF it wouldn't strenghten the government so much."

Basically, they were saying they think its a very good thing but reject it because they feel the government shouldn't be allowed to pull something like this.

Now, I see this anti-government thing alot in the US, almost to the point where the people can be considered Anarchists. Why is that?

Why does evberyone seems to hate the government so much that they would oppose something they think is very good because its an action pulld through by said government? I know everyone has a grudge against his government in some point, its human, but jesus christ, I see so many US citizens being like "If I could go and kill the government, I would do it."

So please, comment on this. I wanna know why this is that way.

Thank you for Super Street Fighter 4, which is basically just Street Fighter 4 with different intro, slightly different story and some added characters and new attacks, so everyone who has the inferior Street Fighter 4 may pay another 50 bucks to get a newer version of it. Good to see you haven't learned anything.

Also thank you for all this interesting new character exposition, because I really wanted to have one and a half minute of monologue from such quality characters as Ken, Blanka, Dudley and Guile. It really makes a fighting game so much better to hear them talk about their mother, children or roses. Really intensifies the game. Also yeah for more new Rufus dialogue, since he was so delightful to listen to (or read) the first time around.

Furthermore, I love how you practically didn't nerfed or un-nerfed anybody, so everyone can still use the same dirty tricks as before in multiplayer.

Thank you Capcom, you're still the best game developer of this planet.

I thought this vid was pretty funny, however I have to disagree (or rather modify) some points.

1. Hard Working Americans: I do agree that a lot of blue collar workers or middle class people are bitten by Obama's reform, but seeing the biggest rightwing voter group, that of upper class citizens like for example managers, psychologists and bankers, who in most cases do pretty much nothing but toy with others peoples careers, money, minds and basis of existance, I'm don't really think that the right is in a much better position to comment from.

2. People too stupid to take care of themselves: Oh, like those people that were unfortunatly kicked from their job by the companies managers because said company wanted to save money even though its in the black numbers? Or that got disabled at a work accident they may not have caused themselves? And even if, they risked their life at their job. And what about the financial crisis that took a lot of people jobs or saved money? You mean those "too stupid to live" people?

3. Extreme radical Left: Oh boy, the dems are your guys extreme lefties? Man, what happened to all those communists or real socialists (like the marxist-leninist socialists or stalinistic socialists), not those watered down, mislead democratic socialists. In any way, did the republicans forget that democratic socialism brought them alot of good things too? Like welfare or better work conditions? I'm not saying one has to overdo it with socialism or like its idea (for upper class citizens and rich people it is a nuisance and hindrance after all), but seriously, seeing how the many people of the right spectrum denounce everything vageuly social or socialist as the root of evil or communism is just ridiculous.

4. Hardcore Socialist: Okay, I know many people who commented on that vid had no fucking idea what they talked about when they used the word socialist. Or maybe even the makers themselves. Yes, the Dems are socialists, but can anyone of those commentors give a clear and accurate definition of the term socialist? And what kinds of socialism exist? And what kind the Dems belong to? I think not.

5. Destroy the core values of america: Okay, I talked about this some time back. If you ask me, of course a democratic state needs a constituion or else goes down the Rousseau-way and we end up in a democratic dictatorship. BUT, you can't left a constitution unchanged forever. In case of the one of the US for example, that thing is almost 200 years old! The world changed immensly since back then, in every aspect of life. And even something as a constitution has to change along with it, if only carefully changed in small doses and upon agreement of the people.

Seeing how many people would like to get that thing resetted to the state it was 200 years ago is insane.

Anyway, regarding this video, values are good, but if some of them just don't fit into the modern time then don't keep them and modify them. And while we're at it: Its not like only the left wants to change the constitution. May I remind you of all these amendments and Propositions that were added to the constitutions about things like gay marriage? Its not like the left wanted same sex marriages banned, that was a right wing movement.

Its not my place here to discuss which side I think was rigjht and personally I don't care cuz I don't plan to marry my boyfriend, and not in the US of all places, so I don't go there.
